I was charged for tolls when the car was supposed to have easy pass.

avoid if possible
the app let me book a reservation at 4pm that they knew closed at 4pm. apple maps said they closed at 6pm. I get to the store and it says they closed at 4pm..so why did avis let me make the reservation?! call customer service all they said was sorry oh well. i had to move my trip back a day for pickup the next morning for $20 more after losing a day. no compensation for avis incompetence. I book a reservation at 8AM for another avis location. apple maps says avis opens at 8AM. I get here this morning THEY OPEN AT 9AM SO WHY DID AVIS LET ME BOOK FOR 8AM ?! avis is a joke man 😂👎🏾

$50 Cancel fee
I had to cancel reservations 3weeks out and they charge $50. Will not rent from Avis again. I will use TURU instead.

Brisbane airport AVIS preferred is a joke they put the sign so you have something to look at while the staff joke away amongst themselves and work their way through a line of people with no bookings
Decline in the App’s Ease of Use
The Avis App was very user-friendly, and easy to navigate and understand. Now, there are so many “hidden charges” and “implied conditions” that it greatly benefits the company more than the loyal customer.

Terrible technology
The Avis app made it impossible to link my profile to an existing reservation… Such a pain to use even though the app is inherently supposed to be helpful!

Selected standard car pay later, when pulling up reservation car is compact car for different price. Canceled and tried again same thing, need to fix the App

Bait and switch at the last minute
I made a reservation over a month ago for a flight to Detroit with a minivan and a child seat and today, less than 24 hours out from my arrival, I got an email that my reservation was modified and the car seat was removed. I didn’t perform this action but when I called the helpline I was informed that ‘changes can’t be made on a reservation booked with points’. Not true, because the reservation was apparently altered by Avis to remove my add-on. I was then told to just show up and see if they have one. If you can’t tell me if my child can safely travel in the car, what backup do I have in the event that there is no seat? I can leave my wife at the airport and go buy a seat for hundreds of dollars to help Avis make a sale? Zero thought for the customer need in this situation. I was told I could also rebook but the app didn’t show the same class of car available, even after cancelling the reservation.
Japan rental
No issues with the app itself, but really should have warned me about the international driving permit requirements in Japan. I was not able to pick up the car because I didn’t have that
App size
The App doesn’t adjust for use in a IPad! It is quite annoying and really a waste of space, while it could have been optimized for the maximum size of the screen.

Needs to include an Avis Membership card I can transfer to my Wallet.
Broken options
This app is great when it works, but it lists options like, save four favourite cars or save three CCs, none of these work or reflect in app

Just pick a lane, Avis
The Avis app changes/updates too frequently. Every time I go to use the app, a new version is present, passwords must be changed, preferences need updated. I’m loyal to Avis, but the app changes are really starting to drag on me.

Hard to find information like current bookings, pints balance, status level, etc

A while ago, made showing all fees includdd an option rather than the standard and forced to manually change the order from low price instead of this being the default.

Every time I make an edit, app keeps toggling on extra up charges.
Frustrated
It's frustrating when the app shuts itself down when I'm confirming my selection and reserving a vehicle on my phone. This then forces me to repeat my steps on either a laptop or ipad which I don't always carry.

My quote is not clear if it is in Usd or Canadian funds and i called no one can tell me

I use Avis for personal and business travel when I need to rent a car. I NEVER have an issue as always have a great customer service experience.
Double charges!
I received an email saying my reservation wasn’t completely so I started over and then saw two reservations. When I canceled it charged me $50. I am angry and want the $50 cancellation fee waived!!!!!
Difficulty with app
I have been totally unable to login to my account at Avis. I eventually managed to hire a car via the website. I now have a reservation number but I still can't access it on my app. I still can't login.

Canadian Customers Beware!
Normally when I rent a car, I use the Avis.ca site and make sure my currency is set to CAD. When in Europe, I used the app to make a reservation and it seems that it defaults to USD and doesn’t show the currency. The app should allow you to change your default currency just like the web site. Typical American company; thinks that the world revolves around the US.
The conventions of the app
Booking and managing my rentals using the app makes sense and helps to keep track of my business use. Definitely a useful tool.
Customer service is awful
I have had the worst experience dealing with their customer service and how dismissive they are. The chat option is horrendous and they will disconnect you without answering any questions. I am still waiting for a response that was over the weeks ago to receive any type of updates. I am leaning more and more to just do ride share for work or personal travel. I am more than disappointed. Why even offer the features if you just plan on dismissing people so quickly without any resolution.
