Does not work
This app has not worked for me since the day I’ve downloaded it. To top up I have to telephone a number entering my account number after following so many prompts. The previous app used by OVO I was able to do direct bank transfers into my account and was so much easier.
Good for topping up. Nothing else.
So yeah, topping up is easy especially with the option of using Apple Pay. But trying to see my actual balance is useless. It updates at 1am then no further changes throughout the day. Cannot see how much I have or what I’m using. So it’s pretty pointless. My last suppliers app didn’t have this issue and it’s a bit frustrating especially as my “smart meter” isn’t displaying my balance properly either.
It seems a better app
Please make it clear that first time logging needs to click on help>first time using the app… I was trying my old password, reset password. But you NEED to follow a hidden step
Amazed
I very rarely write reviews for apps, but this app truly amazed me. I wanted to change my billing date to the 1st of the month; it was set to the later half. I typed this request into the AI chat bot expecting a long read or a chat with a Human. But no, within 2 clicks it had changed this for me.
Can’t top uo my electric terrible
They took down the only way to top up online. I’ve had no power all day and have a newborn to look after this is terrible. Why take away something that works and replace it with this nonsense? I can’t wait to change supplier.
Not accurate at all!
The balance is absolutely pointless at looking at it’s not accurate or even close to how much electric I have. I’m currently in hospital and I’ve been checking the app (which I knew wasn’t accurate but not to this extent) every now and then but someone checked due to it beeping…. £2 Left!!!! Go to top up and the app is saying £8.69!! This is absolutely useless for people going away for long periods of time and still need to keep the electric on (also so they don’t go into emergency) ALTHOUGH one good point you can use Apple Pay instead of messing around going onto the app then online banking then on the app again so star for that
New app
The new app will not load onto my iPhone as it still thinks the old one is on even after deleting. It will open the new app but even after topping up I get no email confirmation and have no idea if it’s going to work. Why didn’t you just update the old version? And it has taken the money as if it’s working.

I cannot believe those sample reviews you have printed. The app is quite quite useless. I always try to use it every time I am asked, and I always find it impossible to fill in a reading. Consequently, I always go to your website and sign in there to send a new reading. and I find it perfectly straightforward, intuitive, etc. Thank you and goodbye.

I’ve tried to sign in since I created my account but it is still showing “Getting your account ready for you”

I am not able to top up my gas meter from this app!!!

Terrible Service
Extremely disappointed with OVO and this transition to the new system. What should have been a straightforward change has turned into a complete headache for customers. The app is confusing, difficult to navigate, and nowhere near as user-friendly as it should be. Even worse, when you actually need help, trying to contact customer service is incredibly difficult. You can spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to find the right way to speak to someone, only to be passed around or directed back to the app.

No updates
Poor app never updates the balance and constantly having to put it in manually. Fix this !!
Useless
I can’t find how to pay my top up meter through this app, the old one worked fine so why do I have to download this new app that is less intuitive and is probably just another way to collect and sell my data. While I can’t find the top up meter I sure as hell found a million different ways I could give Ovo Energy more money :):
Terrible
Doesn’t show correct balance, will leave you thinking you have credit until your light goes off and it will still be showing that you have, when you don’t. Prefer the old app.
