Difficult
I detest the actual yahoo email format so I use Thunderbird. On Thunderbird I have my emails through yahoo and through Gmail. I recently got a new laptop and it was a total nightmare to get my Yahoo emails through Thunderbird. The Gmail emails were seamless and easy, but I had to go to a computer store to have them help me get the Yahoo ones to work. Now I can’t send emails through the yahoo server. Yahoo is always a nightmare.

I have background app refresh on, let me start out by saying that. However, my emails sometimes come through and other times I have to pull down & refresh to have more show up. Those will be days old. I delete some, come back the next day, and I feel like the same ones are refreshing/popping up again like I didn’t read them yet. I’m could potentially be missing important emails.

I have been with yahoo since the beginning. Their spam filters are shocking and porn a vile content I am deleting multiple times a day is unacceptable. It’s over 200 messages a day. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

What the hell happened? I can’t click the checkbox of an email because it ticks the one below or doesnt tick any at all. I have to keep reloding the page just to delete certain emails. This is my primary email and it’s become a joke. Plz fix .

Today I discovered that I can’t attach files, because I have Smart features and using my mails and attachments for “analysis” OFF in my private settings. That is ridiculous. I have a yahoo address for many years and I liked it, because it was easy to handle and I didn’t had Spam. In the last 1 year that has changed. Now this with the attachment. I had to drag the file in the massage, but I couldn’t even made it smaller. I tried to enter my account from the computer, but never received the security “Key Number”. Therefore I couldn’t access my account from the computer. In the future I will not use my yahoo account for any new correspondence.

Latest Update Sucks
The new version totally sucks. The only option for selecting emails for action is to select ALL. No more selecting just today or yesterday. The layout is very hard to use. I am literally deleting emails and the watch them immediately return to my inbox. The icon on my inbox says I have 10 unread messages even though I have been through all the emails and have none left unread. Might have to start looking moving to Gmail for my emails. FIX THE APP!!!!!!
Becoming annoying
I’ve used Yahoo for many years and it’s been ok (you can’t get too excited about emails!). However, with a recent update they say I’m working towards/achieved my ‘streak’. It’s becoming irritating, I don’t need to get rewards for checking email. Might ditch it.

I find that the original version was so much more easily to navigate through the pages, the new version is complicated every time I need to find a page have to click on the 3 dashes at the top left of the screen and search the page when on the older app the icons were at the bottom of the screen clearly visible.

When AI got involved, it made getting my email difficult. They want me to be verify my account. By the time I figured out how to get the information, they said it was not valid. Not good.
Accomplishments aren’t necessary for an email account
The recent update that congratulates your accomplishments for reading & deleting emails is really annoying and completely unnecessary. What genius in the Yahoo R&D department thought it was a good idea to give users achievement awards for reading and or deleting emails ? It’s totally absurd and completely unnecessary to put add something like that to an email account. I find it ridiculous and annoying but it doesn’t appear that there’s a way to change settings or completely remove it and Yahoo doesn’t have any customer support. I’ve had a yahoo email account for over 20 years but this change has me reconsidering keeping my account open.

Does not stay on all inbox
Really frustrating when you have multiple inbox that it does not stay on all it always defaults to just one. Also, it tries to show you your wanted emails, but not all of the emails. I don’t know. I have a clue of how it comes up with what you wanted to see but most of the time it does not show the emails that I want to see. Example, if it only comes up in one of my inboxes, which I wish it showed all inboxes, but it shows just one it doesn’t show me all my emails. It just shows me things that it thinks I wanna see. It’s like focus on Outlook where you don’t get to see all your emails just the ones whatever it thinks you wanna focus on.. Probably gonna get rid of yahoo altogether move everything to Gmail. Which Gmail was my second email that I’ve never really used.

Your app is trash now. It keeps making me login to one of my email addresses literally seconds after logging in. I’ve tried to get help and reach out but of course no one is available. I just finished reading all the reviews that are negative and a lot of people are experiencing this with no resolution. Stop making so called improvements that aren’t needed! You are ruining what was a functional app!! What a joke!!

Personal Mail Folders inaccessible
[UPDATE] 24 Aug The latest update has now fixed my main issue with personal folders no longer being displayed. You can now see and view their contents when you select the more options (burger menu), and they’re sensibly displayed under the InBox as you would expect. Mail app is now useable again. This is a reply to my previous review, replying to Yahoo!s response to that. So no your response does not help as you have failed to understand my issue. I was not talking about the spam, sent folders. I can see where they are perfectly fine. I’m talking about mail folders that I have personally created to organise my emails. Which I have about 100 of. They are folders for the different companies I am using say Amazon or eBay. I have setup mail rules that detect when I receive an email from say Amazon which moves that email out of my Inbox and into a specific folder. Making it easier for me to focus on the emails I want to deal with first. Those folders ARE NO LONGER displayed or accessible in this poorly designed and thought out update. I can only access them via the web version. I can no longer do this via my phone. I have now switched email app providers so I can access them again. I have abandoned using this Yahoo mail app until you see sense and redesign this pile of unusable trash. It’s somewhat ironic that your online support pages still refer to the older usable design. Even on this App Store the app images are the older UX, not the new one so someone at Yahoo! thinks this new UI is unfit for purpose.
