Good tracker for D exposure
Tracks D exposure with timers and notifications for safe exposure without sunscreen so you don’t burn . I use it a lot. Has been very helpful in raising Vitamin D levels.

History is Frozen
The History section is frozen at 90 days snd won’t respond. Great app. It definitely helps stay mindful of getting the right amount of daylight.

Loved the old version
I appreciate this is a free app and helpful to track sun. The old version was simpler to use and the new one has SO many bugs. It constantly changes my session times to hardly anything, and it won’t let me edit the start time to fix it (changing just the ending affects the uv index sometimes). Past sessions mysteriously deleted. If no bugs and easy to edit, would be perfect!
Very Useful tool
Keep track of your sun exposure and log your vitamin D production. It’s easy and useful. Seems accurate in that my blood test line up with what the app predicts.
Great to barely ok
Not sure why developers have a knack for ruining apps that actually work…but now they’ve done it to this one too. Update Sucks!
Black Screen
This app used to be good but now all I get is a black screen when I open the app, on my iPhone 15 Pro with the latest iOS 26. It used to work on this phone. You used to get a brief glimpse of the correct app page, but since the latest update you don’t even get that anymore. This latest update has not fixed the problem. When is this going to be fixed properly.

Used to be a perfect app… then they decided to change everything. Now it’s cumbersome to use. Can’t easily do a sun session or add supplement doses like before.

Used to be 5 stars
I loved the previous version of this app. It worked perfectly tracking my sun sessions and I would have rated it 5 stars. There are now so many bugs. Today it tracked 1 minute of my entire session. It also tells me after 7 minutes or so that my sun session is over when the old version used to say I had 20 minutes per side during the same time of day. It’s completely unusable at this point.

So far so good… Bit scared to do updates! I can’t see. Spot to add a good dose with the new update?? Lamp, supplement and sun yes… Ok- I found “food dose” .. it’s buried under history- not on front page like it used to be… also… when you type in a food - it’s all manual, there’s no search feature like in the old Ap- and even if I choose from common food list (eg egg YOLK).. I can only select one egg yolk.. hard to see how to make it multiple., except for manually guessing the IU dose, Also uv lamps/beds are illegal in Australia… probs best not to promote that option…

Couldn’t connect to any support. My active tracking is always saying zero (for about a week). Then I get an error when I end it and have to input manually as a previous session. I’ve loved this app and used it for years. Never had any issues.

I want to give 5 starts but I think the app is fine tuning its new update. It is EPIC. I loved this app before and now it is infinitely better. The free version is all you need - excellent app.

App still shows 0 IU for exposure after session if you have your phone screen locked. Please bring back the old version from years ago and call it dminder classic or something
Timely update
Great to see the update! Many things look better and function faster and better. One feedback, the app icon in the Home Screen with the stark black background is unappealing. The sun is fine, can you change it to a white background or gives us an option to choose white? I think it also makes more sense this way and it’ll look more fresher and daylighty with an app dedicated to the sun.
Please Fix
The update does not work! It worked great before the update. It gives various numbers for UV. You have to restart it frequently. The timer can be off. The timer is done but it says 80%.
Dead app
Loved this app but recent update makes my app go black. Now I can’t use it. No matter how many times I close out it won’t open without a black screen. Please fix this. I want to use the app and then I can change review to 5 stars cause I liked it a lot.

This app underwent some BIG changes over the last few months. It’s great again! Thanks so much for the work you guys are doing. This app has been incredibly helpful for me to get D naturally. I have a gene mutation that has made it impossible for me to supplement with pills to get vitamin D. I need to get D safely and this app is helping me to do that. 🙏🏼🩷

Really appreciate the quick updates to try to fix this. I was affected by the black screen issue. After updating to 10.8.29, the app does detect my data (“checking for existing data”) and begins recovery. I can also complete the location step. However, it then returns to the “Get Started” screen and becomes unresponsive again — the button doesn’t proceed and I’m stuck in an onboarding loop. Seems like the fix is incomplete for some users still. Device: iPhone 13, iOS 26.4.2
Used to love it! What happened?
User for many years. Loved it. Suddenly asked to reset all my data…(don’t think it used the backup.) BIGGEST ISSUE FOR ME-used to be able to retroactively input a session. Now seems to only allow input up to 1/2 hour afterwards and very unclear how to do that. BIG BUMMERINO! App no longer useful to me if that’s the case! When it was the previous set-up I gave it 5 stars!😬😱
Not as good as before
This year they have done a lot of changes to the UI that make it generally less user-friendly and confusing.
Black screen
I have loved using this app, but lately when I open it I get a black screen and it never opens.
So many glitches
Was wrapping up a session. Clicked finish session and it saved only 3 minutes of the 28 minutes I had recorded. Soooo many glitches still

Reporting the black screen continues, in case helpful. Usually a wonderful app for tracking the sun in general, including times you might burn or make vitD, or not, where you travel.
App Buggy
I loved this app until recently. I don’t know if they added the ads and that caused this issue. But now everytime I open the app it shows a RECOVERY MODE failed to start message and I have to save my data and then restart the app. Luckily my data is still there. But I’ve deleted the app and downloaded it again twice. And yesterday I was out for an hour and it only recorded I was out for 1min. I’m going to look for a different app today because I can’t deal with this uncertainty. I’m happy to pay for an app without ads and bugs that is reliable.
6 july 2026. Has been slowly working over many update. Levels do not feel accurate as prev version.
6 july 2026 3.5 stars working good enough. still clunky to enter same food over multiple days. Tedious. And UI levels are not accurate. Never goes in to green no matter how much D I get in a day. Does not work as well as old version yet. * I am hopeful. * And sun levels just feel too low for high season. Been a slow patient summer of tracking. I did not need participation badges. I need a solid app to enter data accurately and quickly. Thanks. Of you want oeople to donate. Pls put jt oit there. It IS a lot of work. ——- 20 may2026. Again. Wish i didnt update. It went backwards again and stopped working. Lost all data and loads sun screen and that is all. Jams. Nothing works. Used this app everyday in the past. At a loss. 11 may 26. Was working with bugs. Not working after last update. Hanging at initial “checking for existing data” screen. Updated today again. Updated OS. No bueno. Still not working. Im going to stop upgrading if i get it working again. 26 apr ‘26 app is now removing manual past entries in a day foods like eggs and lamp sessions. I log separately and have always done so. It doing it deleting them repeatedly. (We could have just been UX/UI testers.) 23 april ‘26. Kept trying. Finally loaded and opened. Still super buggy. Wish I would have waited Removed my VPN. Did tricks they asked like turn off location services. Went back to app store for many dozens of times and downloaded PRO version which I bought a ling time ago—app store did not default to it. Skipped adding data and finally got it loaded and semi working. They are still working out a lot of bugs. Wish that would have just been clear and upfront. Would have just waited and used old version. Loved the old style version. So data sorta loaded. Lost majority of detail as to sun/food/lamp descriptions. Also lost ability to add those things across multiple days. It is in its clunky stage. People who worry about app aesthetics are a pain. It functioned way better before without the graphical overhead. Btw. The competitor apps suck. And are overpriced. I will be patient. Im sure these peeps will figure out the bugs. Just wish they would communicate clearly and directly. People cam be reasonable if they understand. Also cannot sync to icloud even tho there are backups there. Icloud can be sketchy tho. ++++++++++ 14 april 2026 Developers seem to think it is ONLY the location and heath kit that remain a problem that you can workaround. I cannot use the app AT ALL. Tried. All the workarounds, loads, deleting etc. They are not hearing that. Data loads. App freezes after initial location request no matter how you do it. Would be helpful to skip that. But, 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ done. Will look up copycat apps. Exhausted. Update 31 march 2026: added food data since beginning of year yesterday. Updated app today. Stopped working. Black screen is all I see. Rebooted. Odd. Pls help. I did pay for the app a long time ago. Spouse’s also stopped working a while ago in same way. I am 13 plus pro and the other is a 12. Have had this app for a long time and it continues to work. I like that it isnt an overhyped, over designed sell out. One small suggestion…change the resume button to Green instead of orange. Green means go. Orange usually means slow… frequently hit the wrong button based on its color. Pro tip. If the app is so useful, throw the developer a bone and buy the app and stop whining about the ads. (my numbers were the best ever recently!)
Fixed – Black screen
Deleted, then re-downloaded and it seems to be working, but I haven’t used it yet. Hopefully it will work properly when I use it this afternoon. ———- When I click the app to open it, nothing but a black screen happens and it stays that way. None of the updates have had any effect on that whatsoever. Please fix! I want to go back to giving this app a five star review. As it is, with the black screen, I have to say one.

I have been tinkering with it for the last couple of weeks. Its actually more informative and helpful to regulating my Vit D levels and sun exposure. So I look forward to the summer and giving it a good whirl.
Keeps crashing
For the fourth time in less than one year when I go to open this app, it says that it failed to start and it needs me to completely email all of my data to myself and then restart the app all over and re-sign everything up all over again. Its super frustrating when you want to track data and have it readily accessible and tracked properly.
What happened to manual entry?!
There is nowhere to add a manual entry anymore since this new big update. If I want to add a time I was in the sun but didn’t have my phone or tablet with me, the menu item for a manual entry is gone. Not acceptable. I lost years of data trying to solve the black screen at startup too.

Ver 100.0.30 Ver 10.8.22 — Thank you so much for all the updates. The app runs smoothly now. I really love this app! The features to track D are very useful. I use the supplement and food log daily. I don’t go out much but when I do I use the sun session tool which is really cool with its cloud cover and skin exposure, etc features. I plan to use the lab results feature soon. Thank you for making such a comprehensive app.
Black Screen
7-9-26 UPDATE: Still a BLACK SCREEN upon opening app. • I’ve done the updates, just updated iPhones IOS, each to no avail. • it might be helpful to say that *when I just put the app in the background and go back to the main phone screen, THEN go back to the background apps, I can SEE the Apps main page, as it should look, if it were to open properly. • I hope this will help, thank you for working so diligently to correct the issue. 6-27-26 Tried shutting down phone when I only got a black screen after the update. Sadly, that didn’t fix the issue. Please help/fix.
Works well
Basic version has the necessary features to determine your vitamin D status, required amount to achieve your targeted D goal. Although I question effectiveness of sun exposure (UVB) availability for inducing vitamin D in the skin in the month of March (according to the app) at 45 latitude where I live. Graphic representation is ok.
Disappointed
The app used to be great and so easy to use. The update is annoying, too many questions and information asked to set up now. I just want the old data and simple usage again
Not happy about new layout
Sad to see that you can no longer view the UVA or UVB rise. That was prime info for me. I hate that I need another app now. Prior to this new change I LOVED this app. I really hope they can bring it back. 3 stars now, prior 5.
It’s Back!
This app had been completely unusable for about a three month span. With the latest update it looks like they got it to work. I was able to fully track a sun session without any problems. I like the new interface as well. They have actually improved this app to make it significantly more helpful and overall better.
What Happened!?
Used to be the best app I have ever owned and now I haven’t been able to use this app for weeks. It gets stuck on a black screen and never loads. I’m on an iPhone 14 Pro Max and my OS is 17.7.2
Great app
dminder is a great and easy to use app for those who want to keep track of their vitamin D3 status. It gives a fairly accurate estimate of D3 during summer months but it does not correct for the natural tanning effect on D3 as the exposure to sun progresses.
Gets better and then worse
Please make a TestFlight if you’re gonna push unstable builds. It is so frustrating when a new update entirely breaks the app yet again.

Don’t update!
I updated the app and it no longer works anymore. It is just a black screen when I open the app. I’m so sad to lose access to this app that I’ve used every day for the last few years.
Handy app
Useful and easy to operate
update is a downgrade
for one of very few apps that boast location based sun azimuth data, that very bit has been made the least useful visually. used to be able to forecast what time the sun would be at a given angle, and now your best guess is as good as mine.
Aggressive ads
I’ve been using the app for about a year now. When I first downloaded it there wasn’t any ads apart for some in the margins of the screen. Now however the ads are quite aggressive with a pop up happening everytime you open it. Extremely disappointing and discourages me from even using it sometimes. Especially since the app hasn’t improved or added any new features, which makes them come across as sell outs. Searching for something similar but more user friendly.
