Hopeless!
The purpose of an app is easy access. Why does nectar require log in every time it’s used?! In store today, pulled up app & advised need to log in. Card code isn’t even accessible without log in. Can’t recall password, 6 digit code hasn’t appeared after 10mins. Hopeless, so just left shopping - if you insist on card scan to obtain discount then card should be easily accessible, particularly using the app, just like Boots, M&S, Tesco etc - otherwise what’s the point of an app!
Pants
Keeps losing my details and I’m left at the checkout looking stupid. Going to shop at Aldi instead
Nectar arcade and points
So with the nectar arcade and points after you finish a games you still don’t recive the points but that’s totally fine because I text them and they that sort it out, it was better to add them automatically all the time . So that’s way I give three stars review .

Good to save money
Can’t scan Nectar card at petrol pump
Scanning my card at a petrol pump always fails. I’ve lost hundreds of points due to this. Also, I’m unable to use my password manager to login. Had to open it separately and copy/paste which is always a pain on mobile. Why bother making anything easy for anyone eh?
Errors
The shopping aspect is okay, but it’s tedious having to unlock every week and the nectar gaming aspect they send SO MANY notifications on does not even remotely work. Help are not interested in fixing bugs just telling you instead to reboot…
All Fixed Now
Am now able to view my points history again in the new look app. All good, thank you.
If You Have A Nectar Card Then Get The App
I found the app handy to keep an eye on how many Nectar points I have, as well as being able to get bonus points from time to time. I can also see where I can collect points, as well as seeing some of the Nectar prices offers available.
Useless! Nectar and Smartshop device not syncing
SmartShop and Nectar points offers repeatedly fail to sync in store. Even when I unlock every offer in advance, Nectar Prices and bonus points are still not recognised or applied when I use a Sainsbury’s SmartShop device. This happens again and again, meaning I regularly lose the savings and rewards I am entitled to. This is completely unacceptable. An app and SmartShop service that cannot reliably apply unlocked offers, Nectar Prices and points rewards are not fit for purpose. Nectar must provide a permanent, dependable fix and ensure that every valid offer and reward is correctly recognised and applied every time.
Unable to access
I have been unable to access app for a few months now and it is frustrating as I can’t add items to get points on
Could do soooo much better
I have enormous affection for Sainsbury’s but the nectar app is a shocker - it looks great, but the number of times I have selected offers before leaving home (or even in car park) only to find that it has signed me out when I get to checkout really makes it look as if it’s designed to avoid giving points and offers. Loyalty apps should reward loyalty - this one tests it.
Uses much more storage than it should !
Despite always using the latest version of the app and the fact that the app itself is only 111Mb in size, over time it uses a large amount of data storage (total 1.6Gb in my case) which isn’t intelligently managed down automatically, nor can you reduce or delete the cache manually.
App Needs Fixing
I have to log in every few days. Annoying. Don’t blame me, it’s your fault. UPDATE - REPLY to Nectar. It is your app that is the issue, not me. Fix your app. You are experiencing technical issues, so you need to resolve them.
One of the most unreliable shopping apps
I like being able to have my Nectar card on an app but it’s rarely easy to access! Half the time I try and add coupons or Nectar prices and the app repeatedly crashes or won’t add things. Today I went to use it and I’d been signed out of the app and it won’t let me back in. Just paid for my shopping without being able to scan it. Might as well go to other competitor shops if their rewards card apps are more reliable (which they are)…
Personal discounts not available in every shop
I have been shopping at Sainsbury’s everyday for 6 months and I have not yet unlocked a £2 discount. In addition, my personalized discounts do not apply in every Sainsbury’s shop (e.g. my local London shop). It really seems like a useless and poor reward system..
No access now
I suddenly can’t access the app as it logged me out and is now telling me I’m not registered. Called help line and the woman was of no help telling me about an old account even though I have been through all of this already, useless
Terrible
Had nectar points stollen from account, nectar prices never work. Waste of time and Mb on the phone storage for nothing . Deleted account on my side.
Nectar seems Biased
Not everybody has the luxury of being able to drive out to the big stores and benefit from your Nectar app discounts and bonus points scheme. If you need help developing your software architecture to accommodate Sainsbury’s Local stores, don’t hesitate to call me.
Offers getting worse and worse
You used to get triple or five times points if you spent £130. Now it’s gone on it then went to triple only if you spent 140 then 150 and 160 and now it’s 170 it’s like they’re intensely trying to get you not to get the offers.
Why do I have to log in every time I use the app?
And unable to spend points in Sainsburys as till could load my Nectar data. That’s the 3rd time I have tried and failed.
Useless
The worst supermarket app there is. Asks me to login but refuses to do anything - screen sits there with a circle going round. What’s the point? The developers need to fix this as, looking at the other recent comments on here, this is a common issue. The app is broken.
Buggy
The app is very buggy, always logs you out and every time I’ve been in a Sainsbury’s, I don’t have signal to log back in. Unable to screenshot your code to avoid the issue. Load of rubbish.
