App suggestion
If I put something in the basket, and then I login to edit an existing order, I think it would be an improvement for the app to ask would I like to add the things I’ve put in the basket to my order. Thank you That’s not a review, obviously, but the mechanism to message the developer seems to take me to Help on the Waitrose website, which was a rabbit hole from which I could not emerge. Life is too short
Very disappointing experience everytime!
I love shopping at Waitrose shops every time, but their app is just a bloody nightmare - hard to navigate, completely u predictable and waste of time! Such a shame!
Overall pretty good
Generally I have a very good shopping experience with the app. A couple of suggestions: add filters to the offers, at least by dietary restrictions. It’s painful scrolling through the food to go meal deal options without that. As another reviewer mentioned, adding existing basket items to an order that then gets amended would be so helpful.
It’s a Game of Give and Take
Listen up, Waitrose. Your rewards scheme is one of the stingiest around. You collect all this data on customers' spending habits but offer very little in return. Right now, I have no vouchers at all. Every week or so, there are a few vouchers here and there offering 50p off a small number of items. You need to offer a fairer exchange. Right now, you take more than you give, so this needs to change. If you really want to shine, then offer more than you take!
Food is always delivered late
This app needs a feature to give delivery drivers instructions such as ringing the doorbell, and how to find my house. Every order has been over an hour late.
Best supermarket shopping app
I have Sainsbury’s and Tescos apps which are fine but this Waitrose one is much much better. The in store shop and scan feature is great. It’s just got me to change my previous shopping regime
Frustrating in the extreme
I use this app because it’s supposed to be convenient yet almost every other shop. I’m subject to a re-scan and very few of the operatives know how to do one. I’ve even had a re-scan when I’ve only had two items in my bag. It’s absolutely ridiculous and frustrating. Quite easily the worst self-checkout system there is.
Scan Pay Go doesn’t work
Scan Pay Go Glitch App Issue: Scan Pay Go Loop Glitch (Battersea - Nine Elms Branch) * Feature Value: Love using 'Scan Pay Go' on the app to bypass bulky, heavy in-store hardware scanners. * The Glitch: Triggered a random rescan check at the till. The app instantly froze on the "RESCAN REQUIRED" screen. * State-Lock Loop: Closing and restarting the app did not clear the error. Tapping "Continue" returned to the frozen screen; tapping "Restart" failed with a "Rescan incomplete" error. * In-Store Confirmation: Partners at customer service confirmed this freeze is actively happening to multiple other shoppers. * Resolution: Had to manually re-scan all items entirely from scratch at the till to checkout traditionally. UX/UI Feature Suggestion: * Current Obstacle: Shoppers have to do mental math to track budgets. The basket total is hidden—it does not show up even when tapping on the cart icon, and only becomes visible once data transfers to the till via QR code. * Solution: Please add a live, running price total directly next to the floating cart icon on the 'Scan Pay Go' screen.
Frequent Crashes
Several times recently whilst in the middle of shopping the vouchers have not loaded. Even connecting with the WiFi doesn’t work. Unable to use the vouchers which is a shame as the app is well put together.
Enough with podcasts notifications
I had to disable notifications because I keep getting alerts for a podcast I have zero interest in. It’s disappointing for a grocery shopping app to push unrelated content. Please stop sending these promotions, or at least give us granular notification settings so we can opt out of marketing while keeping order updates on.

The UI looks dated with the non LQG keyboard, update the ancient looking UI already and that applies to your John Lewis App too!

Moody app, sometimes despite the little treats doesn’t get updated despite scanning the card. Not enough discount vouchers either despite spending ££ . It used to be better before.

I have an email address and a password but I keep being told there is an error try again. I actually deleted the app and reset it. Again i got there is an error try again so I did and I got the app to open. Amazing! Then in store today no such luck again I got there is an error try again Is it just me with this problem John
Saturday 1st August
Used my phone to scan and go as I always do. Got to the till with a trolley full and got the message for a rescan. Usually when this happens they scan approx 10 or so items and away you go. Not today… rather than explain any of this to me the assistant was just talking through her headset about having to rescan every scab and go order. She then went off helping other customers. Finally she came back to me and said she had to do a full rescan. I had over £130 in the trolley all packed and she was going to take ages rescanning everything with her hand held scanner. I therefore went to a Checkout with an assistant unpacked everything while she scanned it and then repacked it. No apology or explanation. Surely they should be able bypass this problem if it’s happening with every customer.
Apple Wallet Card - suggestion
How about putting the barcode at the top of your Apple Wallet card. That way we can just hold our phones normally when we have to put it into the reader to get the scanning gun instore. Seems like common sense…..
Easy Booking
Wanted to book some party food and found the website very easy to peruse and to book. Great that you can pick up from a local Waitrose.
Making it difficult to contact
Used to be so so easy to message when there was an issue with your order now you have to fill in an online form with nene address order number etc. trying to make you give up before you raise issues. Pathetic
Improve order system
Need to make it obvious how to add another item to order!
Search facility limited
I love Waitrose but find this app is let down by its poor search facility. Unlike on the website, you cannot copy and paste multiple products from an email onto a list. I shop for my 96 year old mum every week. She emails me the list and I create the order. It’s very frustrating that things have to be input individually. Also, the search is not intelligent eg 2 bananas will not find bananas- the 2 has to be deleted. Waitrose is let down by this app.

Where are my vouchers?
Vouchers have been slowly but surely reduced to the point that this week I got no new vouchers. What is going on? Also when I search for something in the app and click on it, returning to the search page resets the search and I have to scroll all the way down to where I was before. Lastly, please allow us to review our purchase in the app - this is an extremely basic function of a shopping app.
Great recipes easy app
Love the recipes just which we could change the order of the recipes to have newest at the top or in alphabetical order, and would love to create a weekly menu within the app But overall it’s a very easy app
Could and should be better
Repeatedly when going into Waitrose, app fails to load when I can check for whatever vouchers are available. Voucher tab constantly fails to open but the rest works. Why make me have to select vouchers of the products I buy weekly when clearly I would choose them. They should be auto added thus my card then deducts

Belly Pork Joint
Can you please ask your butcher that supplies your belly pork joint NOT to score the skin because it affects the cooking of the joint to make the skin crackling. Please, please! Thank you. I refused to buy it from Waitrose.

Waitrose app crash
The Waitrose app used to crash occasionally when amending an order. Usually I can just reboot my phone and it would fix the properly. I have provided feedback to Waitrose before but the issue is still happening. So much so that it just crashed my iPhone 16 which is only 6 months old. So I thought I ought to put a review on here.
Can not order from deli counter ?
Would be perfect if you could order fresh meats or fish from the deli counters then 5 stars

App itself is fine but why do we need to see “Pride” colours for all of June? One day would be enough to show their DEI credentials.

With one consistent fallibility the best for quality and courtesy.The one bad facet is bottled beer.We only order one variety.This went wrong when the orders were coming up short by three or more bottles. Today the correct number arrived,however one was leaking and two were only half full…The callcentre is very cooperative and pleasant,it was not always so.I guess it is down to the heat at the moment and maybe a lack of cool bottle storage space,rather than the preceding times when the counting was erratic.
Unable to set up account
Unable to set up account. Go to add in my address and it just shows a blank screen with ‘Complete your account’ at the top. No way of progressing without it! Please fix
Easy to use
The APP is very easy to use. I wanted to give 4.5 stars, but there are no half star increments. Reason: once you choose a click and collect location, you can change the time slot, and add/remove but not the location. You have to cancel and start all over. This makes sense if it is the day before, but not if your order is not due for a few days.
Back to normal
Now the App icon is back to normal like the UAE version it’s time to reinstall!
Simple to use
I use Waitrose app to place all my orders for party food. as friends and relations live in different counties to myself I Often need to collect items at stores . it is really easy to put in the postcode of my destination and the app will find the nearest Waitrose. Always excellent food at great prices
Garbage app.
I expect far better from Waitrose. Tried cancelling my order, but it wouldn’t allow me to. Followed all the help suggestions, still couldn’t cancel. Tried to contact coroner services via email, no chance as I could not get through the system to even get the email address. App is worse than amateurish and I expect far better from the like of Waitrose. Will be removing app and shopping elsewhere from now on; I certainly have never had a problem with Ocado, so back to them I will go.
Product standards
Please ensure you pack fresh and good products such as fruits, tomatoes and vegetables. And packing exactly what someone order last time I ordered large eggs but because they didn’t have just packed what ever was there without telling me. Otherwise doing good.
