Won’t let me pick a size
I’m trying order school shirts and when I click on choose size there are no sizes to pick just the button saying add to bag. I also can’t go back and have to close the app altogether to start again. Please fix.
REWARD
Even though the reward was activated It did not apply at the check on line. Tried several times , but as it was only a fiver on home goods I gave up. I was buying a £150 Mattress topper.
Sending a gift
Disappointed. I’m unable to add a message to my gift so the recipient has no idea who this gift is from. This also happened to my mother who received a gift which was 2 sizes too big. She is unable to change it since we have no idea who it is from. There was no paperwork included in the package. Such a waste of a lovely gift.
Where is the search button
I couldn’t find a search button after the app update. I had to keep going out of the site & starting again. I attempted to place an order numerous times. I had £11 in reward vouchers which the add showed had been applied but the total amount did not show the reduction until I noticed it on the opposite side to the actual bill. I thought it hadn’t been deducted. This was all very frustrating & time consuming.

Gift Card Payments
Shame M&S haven’t run focus groups to road test this App! The amount of clicking & scrolling you have to do to pay for an item via an M&S card is ridiculous, then when you load a new one, it loads to the bottom of your Gift Card list, aka even more scrolling!
Out of stock again
I ordered this pair of slippers, not because I liked them but because they were the only ones I could find (tried 5 different styles) that were size 9 ‘in stock’. Online shopping used to be great with M&S but I’ll be looking elsewhere when I have time next time. I’ve stopped buying plants from you because you priced yourselves out. I used to spend hundreds of pounds every year sending plants but not anymore.

After a letter telling me to use my card or it would be cancelled in November, I tried to shop with it only to find it was blocked and I needed to wait for a new one, it finally arrived and I tried for 3 days to activate it but it proved impossible as the people on the phone said they couldn’t help as the line kept breaking every time I gave my name etc, finally today I managed it when I received a call back, I tried doing online and through chat bot but nothing would work it was very frustrating as I am disabled following a stroke and until today when the gentleman who rang back no one seemed to understand that I was unable to move around so couldn’t get to the landline when they rang on that instead of the mobil. I finally was able to shop online at M & S only to find that too was frustrating as I needed to cancel one item and it was proving impossible, finally I cancelled it and began again, now just awaiting delivery, but have spent so much time trying to sort out a very simple task, thank goodness for the helpful man this morning.
Hacked
Since M&S was hacked last year the web site has become more difficult to use. We persist though to defend M&S through buying from them.

I am finding it quite difficult to to use the app I have thought I have done all that is required to find I still have not full filled the requirements. Then I have started again the instructions are not that clear . I think I have managed now.
Limited sizes at times
Too often find what you want but it’s not in the colour you want or it’s only available in size 10. Frustrating!

Love M&S shame not everything is online
We moved to the countryside and with less clothes stores, and even ones like brooklands in Surrey, where I return being a smaller store and not stocking everything, (it's two floors of clothes) online is now the norm. So a little frustrated to see some gorgeous lingerie - I can buy the top part but not the bottom online, and would need to search for a location to buy it as you do not have stock store locator. So sadly no purchase of those. I love your range some beautiful garments - just out of reach.

I received a gift card from my work for €500, and we live M&S but the process took us days to figure out… eventually we managed to spend €201 but it has put us off trying to spend anything further

Scan and Shop
The removal of the scan and shop app is a major blunder by M & S, every major food shop has an app, even Lidl are about to introduce one. One reason for the decision I was told was that not many people used it, that was because the wifi is absolutely useless in most of your stores. In Abingdon they have introduced hand scanners but they are hidden behind a pillar so no one can find them. Just to add insult to injury the strawberries I bought were well past their best. If there had been a zero stars score I would have used it.
Dark mode please!
Please can you add a Dark Mode to the M&S App. I find it difficult to navigate the shopping App on such bright white pages! Thank you.
Misinformation
When on the page to buy an item a message says available for collection or delivery tomorrow. When I went to checkout, the soonest delivery option is 7 days away and collection 8 days away. When I went to check of items were in my closest store, it says no information available. Very frustrating.
Understandable but…
I realize combining the individual M&S apps into one is much more cost effective but that doesn’t mean my heart is in it😕. I miss having a separate M&S Recipes app. Granted, I had to convert every measurement and cooking temperature from UK (metric) to US (imperial) but I didn’t mind because the recipes were very good. Well here’s hoping…
M&S is a customer time waster
Wanting to buy made to measure curtains, I measured up and ordered a swatch. It arrived to my delight and I went back to the site to order and pay by PayPal. I could find nowhere to place the order although I had been able to order the swatch. I called Customer Services for assistanceand the representative insisted on talking me through whole site which by that time, I already knew like the back of my hand. Suddenly she asked are you using an IPad. Yes I replied. She then said that orders were not able to be taken from an iPad. She could give me no reason except that there was a technical issue.I shop with John Lewis, Boots, Amazon, Waitrose all very easily. Why can’t Marks and Spencer be honest enough to state this on their website or is it incompetence at fault?
Very disappointing
Firstly, it’s been challenging to use the gift card. When I tried yesterday it said the gift card couldn’t be used for the checkout basket! So I resorted to going into the store. I’ve finally order3d what I wanted. I’m very disappointed with M&S your clothes ar3 never available in my size and they are most unsuitable.

Site difficult to navigate
I find your website difficult to navigate when I try to use it on a laptop. I choose 2 items continued on to browse but then could not get sight of my shopping bag in order to complete the purchase. It appears to be less complicated using the app on my phone, but I wish to use my laptop. I am constantly being asked to sign in - when I already have an account. Do you think I am being transferred to M&S UK as I wish to use M&S Ireland. Phil

Glitches out often
Often the app stops letting you look at specific items. You can still do searches or browse, but if you click on a specific item for more details it just goes white. If you close the app out and reopen it then works again. Kinda frustrating if you are shopping for more than one thing.
Disappearing shopping bag
Twice all the items disappeared from my bag and I had to re-enter them.

Clunky App
Not impressed. App lagged through the whole process, allowed me to pay not an insignificant amount, but then no order confirmation! The items still in my basket and my payment pending. Has been for a number of days. Contacted M&S help line they were very nice but apart from escalating it and saying they would get back to me, nothing. Currently made the transaction again. M&S now have just short of £500 pending! I only persevered as it’s for my 90yr old mum. Otherwise I’d have just insisted on being reimbursed and forget the order. I assumed a better service from M&S I am now seriously thinking of taking my custom elsewhere.
App update??
I love M&S, but Irish app still not able to give me approx stock in store ?! Would love an update to include this.
Poor implementation
Looks nice to begin with, but riddled with problems. Passwords don’t accept all sorts of characters but it does not tell you what. Took 4 attempts and I eventually just used numbers and letters which is not great in terms of security. The screen size often shrinks to unreadable sizes on my iPhone 11. When you zoom in you can’t easily zoom back out to actually submit a form.
Slow update of orders & difficult payment and delivery options.

Love M&S but was disappointed when my items in my basket where removed before I checked out. It was so hard trying to find the sizing for uniforms

You can not select anything as a gift, and neither can you add any message if you are buying flowers. The latter options is available through the website and not the app.
Useless widget
Good app but with a completely useless widget. Can’t we have a widget that opens up Smart Shop or something just as useful instead? Also Smart Shop works terribly if the store is busy.
