What people like
- Great for planning trips before you go
- Works perfectly offline without internet
- Simpler and clearer than the official MTA app
- Very helpful for tourists navigating the city
What they complain about
- Ads are aggressive and hard to close
- Map shows wrong F and M train routes
- New map design is harder to read
- Too many ads make the app unusable
Accurate
I love how accurate this app is. Makes navigating so much easier. 10/10 recommend
Ads every time you open it
I don’t want to wait 30 seconds to use an app because there’s an ad every time you open it. Useless
Update the map!
There’s some changes in the system like the M and F lines. Update is needed asap for accurate consultation.
Impossible to use!
The Ads have made this app impossible to use. I can’t get past to opening ad.
Good app, but it’s outdated
You need to fix the F, & M swap
Best subway map ever!!!!! I wish I had the other ones
Did,skkddidjiedijsek
MAP NOT UPDATED
This app can’t even update their maps when the app is specifically just for maps! The M and F train is not the correct route. I went on the wrong train because of this app. I’m not from NYC so I rely on this. Absolutely annoying!
Indispensable in the City
As a New Yorker, I use this app when I need to see routes I don’t usually take. It’s faster, easier, and more useful than the official MTA app for seeing the layout of the system. One thing, though - give us back our old-style maps. The new map is less useful and I wish MTA hadn’t switched over. It’s harder to read and is utter trash for knowing how the stops align with surface streets. At least give us an option to pull up the old map instead of the new one. With the old map, this app is 5/5. With the new map, I have to dock one because it isn’t as useful.
PLS BRING BACK THE OLD MAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This map… im not saying i hate it but the old map is more accurate. Also pls update the F/M swap.
Update for F and M switch please!
No longer reflects current subway map.
Good App, WAY too many Ads!
It’s accurate, the look is okay, but when I need it most, ads pop up. I as soon as it’s gone two more pop up. Way more than earlier versions. No one will buy this app that’s a real New Yorker. Will tough it out until another free one happens.
Misdirect
The map is outdated, incorrect routes of F and M trains.
Mostly great
Sometimes the destination stop given is not the closest to the target destination - an earlier stop would have been better.. but mostly it works well ! Thank you !
F Train tunnel switch
You need to update this app. The F train no longer uses the 63rd st tunnel to queens. It uses the same tunnel at the E train (53rd st). Many F train stops are incorrect now.
Annoyed
I’ve had this app for years, and it’s been good. Now? Not so much. The ads aren’t a problem for me, it’s fact I have to close to whole app because the ads don’t show the little x to close it out.
Good app but it doesn’t reflect the F and M train swap
Title says it all. I’ve used this app for years and it’s great but it doesn’t seem to reflect the recent swap I f the F and M train routes. I got on an M train at 9 pm on Tuesday thinking it would take me to 53rd and Lex and I ended up at 57th and 5th. To be fair Google maps is also messed up.
Don’t
The app used to be bearable but now you can’t even close the ads when they AGGRESSIVELY pop up
Brilliant app
A great app if your visiting or live in New York City, just needs a new push notification sound instead of the boring tri-tone sound, something like the subway 7 train closing door chime😄
Annoying ads
Ads in the free version take forever to skip. User interface / experience is cluttered compared to alternative options.
Missing info
Missing express x local only stations
Great app
I was visiting NYC with my husband for Christmas and we couldn’t find a gift for me. I wanted something vintage and cool and the NYC Vintage App made it so easy, streamlining what categories to look for along with location services. Will definitely use whenever I’m in NYC and will download the LA app for when I’m there also.
So much ads
So much ads
Recomendo a quem vai à NY!
Escolha as estações e ele traça a rota!
Imho the original App is much better
Advertising is annoying and the direction of metro is only available if you you pay for. Check out the original app MYmta.
Annoying Ads
The best attribute of a travel app is to make quick decisions in the midst of your trip. This app places a series of ads for up to 20 seconds just as you’re needing to figure out which train to catch. So, here I am standing in the middle of the subway walkway, waiting for this app to clear the ads before I can continue. They need to figure out ad visibility without defeating the purpose of the app.
Mr Charles
Very good map well done.
Too many ads
Technofeudalism is a parasite
Top app
Got me around the city without a hitch. Wish it provided on-platform air conditioning.
Good map but too many ads
This app was great and I didn’t mind the occasional ad but now the ads are very intrusive and many don’t close properly so one has to completely close the app and reboot it, which is kind of a pain when you’re racing around on the subway. It’s $23.99 to purchase the app which to me is steep as I just use the subway map. Perhaps if you use the route planning function it’s a deal.
Map change bad
The map was better before, please change it back.

Slow, filled with ads
Slow, filled with ads
Lifesaver
Absolutely cracking app. Saved me many times.
Way too much ads
A new ad appears in less than a minute in free version... :(
Lifesaver!
While not nearly as clear as the London Underground map (trying to figure out the intersecting stations can be a nightmare),it is still a hugely important resource; not only for the visitor (that's me!), but native Noo Yorkers. You will have to travel the lines to understand which train letters run on the same lines (they make fewer or more frequent stops). After a while you'll get the hang of it. Persevere!
First time New Yorker
Great app that helped navigate me and my wife travel around the Metro routes for the first time whilst we were away for my 40th Birthday.
do not purchase
Once I purchased the app. Never received the notification any more!
Excellent app
Downloaded app before recent trip to NYC. Perfect for planning journeys.
Fantastic
So simple for navigating NY! Thank you.
What an annoying app
You can use Google Maps for free without using this annoying ad filled app that constantly pops up stupid ads.
Tourists friend
If you are visiting use this. It's like a friendly New York resident being with you in subway.
Ya pagué y sigo con publicidad
He pagado ya dos veces esta aplicación. Una para pro y otra para mejora y ahora al actualizar, pierdo lo que tenía.
Aplicación.
La voy a probar y luego les cuento más.
It’s great when it works
Every time I visit NYC from the UK this is the one app that helps me all the time.subway is the easiest way to get around this very busy city
The adds take over
You can’t even use the app because the adds take over. It gets to a point where you can’t search the routes because the adds won’t go away. They are constant.
Super useful
Very intuitive and simple.
System
the best and most useful app i have ever used, As a tourist I found the app invaluable during my 1st time visit to NY, does exactly what it says on the box. i would recommend this to anybody who intends to use the network —
Buena
Imprescindible tener una aplicación como esta en el móvil o iPad para poder estar tranquilo cuando haces una excursión por la maravillosa ciudad de new york. Todo táctil y off line, ayuda bastante.
