Free option works for single client
Switched to this time tracker for 2026 and it has been working well in the free version for one client. I like the ability to add expense receipts. The reminder to send a thank you note for paid bills is a nice touch.

Great App, however
We have used Harvest for the past 6 years and it met all of our needs. We recently started using a similar time tracking function in Quickbooks and cancelled our Harvest account on the same day the monthly charge was due. Harvest billed our credit card and will not offer a refund of the monthly fee. OK, no big deal, but this is not the way to treat a longstanding customer.
It’s perfect!
I never write reviews here but Harvest is such a great app and website that helps me run my business. The interface is easy and has everything I need for time tracking and beautiful invoicing. I’m so grateful that Harvest exists because I would have a hard time running my business without it.
Stick With What Works
For some reason mgt now think everyone that uses their app needs AI embedded in the app. Just the opposite. I build my own agents now for most of my work flows and the only reason I haven’t done it for Harvest is because it does the basics and it doesn’t cost that much a month. All the AI nonsense is getting to the point where I will take the time and build my own tracking agent and cut harvest out of my monthly spend.
Very useful on the whole
For me, the best part of this service occurs on the back end, tallying the hours logged using the app. You can log your hours thru the web or the iPhone app, and then feed that info into your projects and ultimately into your invoices. The iPhone app works well for capturing your hours with timers, but is stripped down when it comes to reporting & management - the web interface is much more full featured for that, and is where you need to do the setup for your invoicing and other project & reporting related features. So, I find the iPhone app an indispensable complement to the HarvestApp service as a whole, and I find the service subscription cost reasonable (under $150/yr) given the ease it allows for invoicing, project tracking and historical review of work detail. I’ve had some issues over the years as the develop has changed features, but they’ve been pretty responsive to user feedback to address problems.
It’s a little dysfunctional
I’ve just been using it to collect my time and material for specific jobs. It’s been less than ideal for it so far. It’s definitely missing a few small but important key features.
Needs a Project overview report
There doesn’t seem to be a way to review all expenses, time, and tasks by project in the app. It’s like the project manager view is not built out in the app. You can really only view by week. The mileage, expense, task and time tracking is nice for the individual user though.
Good app for time management
This app provides a good way to track and mange time. I use this app and the Harvest system every day with success. Keeps me focused and helps my clients understand my efforts in serving their needs when the billing happens.
Be very careful!
We have used Harvest since 2012 and referred a dozen or more businesses. This company just raised our rate from just over $1200 a year to $30,000. Everybody we referred has also received this notice and is scrambling to find a replacement. There are several good options. It is pure extortion and absolutely terrible business!
Inconsistent options in reports
I’d like to be able to generate financial reports for the current and previous financial years, similarly to what is available via your website interface. Overall really good app, thanks.
Current versions UI is absolutely useless on iOS
We love Harvest, but despite detailed feedback to the DEV Team about the current versions UI shortcomings on iOS nothings has changed. Best advice we have is to use the webinterface for Harvest on iOS, to avoid loosing valuable time and in fact data entries. Happy to resend our detailed email conversation if someone at Harvest cares to listen.

I really love this web app, however I struggle with the fact that I cannot view, or edit estimates from the app. Such a valuable feature to me and would love if we could utilize it within the app. Not just the web.

Love the App, could use more functions
Great app and really easy to use. I do wish however it was more usable on mobile - i.e being able to send an invoice, create a report, etc.
Text entry is messed up with new update
Selecting the text area to enter time brings up the keyboard and the time entry section is hidden. I then have to scroll up to see what I type. Have to keep doing this as I type. The start time and stop time buttons take up so much space. All that could be used for a visible text area when you type :(
Decent, but needs to take advantage of modern iOS features
In particular, this is the kind of app that should absolutely support Live Activities and the Dynamic Island. When I start a timer in the app, I currently have no way of seeing that it’s still running while I’m in another app or just on the Home Screen. Please consider adding support soon! More robust support for Shortcuts and Control Center widgets would also be great, so I can start a timer from Control Center, or trigger a Shortcut to log a manual time entry.

Price increases!
After years of relying on Harvest we’re being forced out by a ridiculous price hike. The price hikes don’t seem to signal an increase in quality as the Mac app no longer works so I’m forced to track using the phone app. A real bummer when it comes to productivity.
pretty good, needs an iPad version
so far i’m really enjoying this app. but there’s no ipad version, which would be really useful.

Good, but terrible widget holds it back
This is almost anyone could hope for in an all-in-one, on-the-go app for time tracking, but there’s one fly in the ointment: the widget. The biggest issue is that it NEVER updates in the background. Only after you tap through it to the actual app does it update to the current time on current tasks. Therefore, you could look at your Home Screen and think “oh good, I remembered to stop my timer for that task when I left my desk” only to come back to find out that OH NO YOU DIDN’T. Enjoy trying to figure out when you actually stopped working, because your Harvest Widget has been stuck in place since the last time you launched the full app. How is this ANY better than just tapping on the Harvest app icon to go into your timesheet? Here’s a hint: it’s not. The Widget doesn’t even follow the light/dark settings from the app. It just auto switches from light to dark, no matter what you do in the app, or if you remove the widget and reload it. All in all, great app, held back by a god-awful, half-hearted attempt at a Home Screen widget. Fix it, and I’ll bump to 5 stars easy.
This is a wonderful too & very good app
Harvest is the best. The desktop tool is solidly built, feature packed, and has personality without being cutesy with fun quotes about time built into the interface. The reporting is amazing and so easy to use. Project setup allows for a huge variety of customizations and option settings. The app works seamlessly with the online tool - so much so that I can start a timer for a call while I'm at my desk, get in my car and finish the call, then click the stop button whenever the call is over. Reporting functions are lacking in the app, but as I don't have to run reports on mobile, this isn't a big deal. As a freelance consultant with multiple clients, and working Mom, I couldn't be nearly as professional or organized with out this tool. I've also used the tool in a team setting - where clear visibility into hours spent by person, task, and client are extremely helpful to staying within time limits and getting work done. I can't tell you how the help desk support is, because I've never once had to call them. The tool works all the time and is simple to figure out. HIGHLY recommend you check it out. It's definitely worth the small price tag for the functionality and performance.
Horrible Pricing Model
Was very disappointed to discover that the cost for the app went from $16/month to a crazy high amount with no warning. Will be moving to another app.
Great app but still needs one core thing
Great app however not being able to send invoices only solves half the value of having the app. I look forward to an update where this would be possible.

Where’s the iPad App?
I’ve had a lot f experience using Harvest over the past 10 or so years. Harvest is pretty good in that it provides a reliable solution to time tracking with some good functionality and integrations with many common project management tools. But where is the iPad app? Would really make a difference if I were able to use Split View on my iPad to display my calendar or project management alongside my running time tracker (or not running time tracker when I forget to activate it)… Now that I think of it, Harvest already integrates with Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar, so why not add the ability in the online GUI (and in this hypothetical iPad app) to view your day like a single day calendar view to which you could then display your calendar events alongside your tracked time.
Great Tool for Solopreneurs
I have loved using the Harvest app. It’s user friendly and keeps my accounts and billing straight. I also love the timer feature. It helps keep me honest.
Unethical Hidden Costs
Harvest was bought out by Bending Spoons and last month we received a bill that jumped from $33 to $153 a month. Others have received surprise bills for thousands of dollars all because Harvest changed the pricing on the platform and didn’t notify their customers effectively. I got an email the day before they charged my card, not leaving enough time to react. Had to spend weeks trying to get a refund on what is a very unethical hidden usage charge structure. The information is not on the pricing page of their website, which it should be. We did weeks of research and even hired an independent IT specialist to review the pricing and this was not visible anywhere. Harvest needs to offer clear information on pricing. It’s a shame because the app itself was well designed and worked well (thanks to the original developers). However, suddenly charging for every single project, client and task racks up hundreds of dollars of “flex billing” usage costs that are not clearly explained. Relieved we did not sign up for the annual subscription or we would be stuck. Canceling our subscription today. Avoid.

Love Harvest; the new app is a step backwards though
Have been using harvest as a sole trader for about 8 years. A big part of it was the old app made it so easy to ensure I recorded my time whilst away from my desk. The new app has - no particularly useful new features - an upgrade in design, and - bugs galore. The most annoying bugs relate to adding a note to a time entry. That field gets obscured by the keyboard when creating a new time entry. And I can no longer save edits to the note field in the app. Really annoying!
Good, but can’t invoice from app
I’ve been using this app for many years now, and I’d give another star if it was possible to create and send invoices from it.
Newbie loves it!
Harvest has made my newbie self-employment so easy!! Customer support was very helpful in setting up my company. I had used projects for items that should have been tasks and they gave me great advice. Highly recommend!!

Very useful
This app has been very useful for somebody that does daily rate billing. After tweaking invoice details all I have to do us fill time sheet and then get automatic invoicing for my month. Has been much more useful for me than xero for this purpoae
Step backwards
Looks like a web app. Not as much useful information, or harder to find. Apparently no dark mode. The old app was really good.
Auto fill problems
Amazing app have been using it for a small construction company for about a year. Easy way to keep track of hours and jobs on the go. Only complaint is with the latest update, when employees are inputing there time in the app. It autofills the job and task to the last day and it doesn’t make them enter the job there on. This is leading to hours being put to the wrong job and more editing of hours by management. I wish the app would make choosing the job and task be mandatory for each entry. Overall great app!!

Great but basic
Fantastic for tracking my time while on the go or away from my computer, but this lacks some basic features such as: 1. I can't view the weekly total for any week other than the current week 2. I can't enter start and stop times and have the app count hours for me. It would be neat to see some advanced features such as geo boundaries and location tracking for those who want to turn it on.

Harvest is great. It tracks our time and helps us invoice. The app has limited functionality and is very basic. Would be great if you could see uninvoiced amounts.
Great app for timekeeping
This app was better before the update. I liked it better before the changes. Now if I use time on more than one client, the app doesn’t show it on screen but seems to track the time in the background somewhere. Then I can “clock out”. It was much more user friendly with the previous version.

Unauthorized upgrade
Horrible update! Woke up to over a $1900 charge on my debit card without my authorization. Harvest assumed that their new upgraded, yearly subscription would be great for my SMALL business with a single user-me! . I don’t even make $20,000 a year and they stole $1900 out of my account! Luckily they refunded it but I had to cancel my debit card. Even then they said that my finances are actually tied to my bank account and not my debit card. DISGUSTING!! Now I tried to downgrade to the free plan and they won’t even let me alter my active projects to fit the parameters of a free plan until I pay! I hate the new features and new subscription model. There’s no 24 hour live chat at all. They steal your money and limit the mobile app so you can’t even make changes. You have to use a web browser. I will be canceling all Harvest services. Do not fall for their expensive subscription.

Handy app to go with software. I use it for client visits. But would be good to have more of the web features 👏🏻

App is tedious to use. Requires heaps of button presses to make a single entry. Has less features than the website and does not allow weekly entry of time in a spreadsheet format.
