Does exactly what I need
Works great, you can save your hours and it lets you send a pdf to whoever you’re invoicing
Won’t let me login with work email
It says I can’t login with another email despite me working for another company. It says it needs to merge the data but I don’t want my old data.
Great app for the laxs work environment.
I’m a contract worker but I get a salary. It’s really confusing. I honest just needed an app because the pilot I’m with needs to know how much they are asking out of a role that is ideally volunteer. Everything else I tried was either way too bare bones or too professional. I like that I can use Toggl whichever direction I want it.
Regularly Glitches
The app would be nice except for when I go to the Reports tab, about half the time it gives me an error message and to please try again. No matter how many times I click the Try Again button, it does not work. All that fixes the issue to check back another day. This is not convenient when my boss asks for my time.
No way to redo signup
So I want to manage how much time I spend on business operations. I downloaded and signed up for a new account. The email was invalid and I can’t go back to use my other email. I deleted Toggl and redownloaded again thinking it would clear but no… it’s still stuck on the screen asking for the 6 digit code to set up account. Please help!
Works great as an intern into consultant for tracking time and task allocation for invoices
Much better than notes app and tabulating time in a spreadsheet!
App Broke
I’ve downloaded and redownloaded the app multiple times. At first, it wouldn’t let me log in. Now, it’s as if the buttons do nothing. I’m frozen on a page and nothing works.
Where is favorite list?
Suddenly, the favourite list I added earlier isn't showing for some reason. I searched for it throughout the app, but didn’t find it anywhere. What happened? Hello?
Supposed to be easy?
Least intuitive app I have used in a while. Can’t easily say I have worked an hour on a project without having the app track it in real time. Not clear how to erase mistaken entries. Deleted it after 1 day. Maybe it is for people who are used to writing code all day, just not for me. I’m a property manager and wanted a way to track billable hours.
Seems Good But Struggling to Start
First of all, the cookies popup came up every time I went to a new page in the web on mobile. I was able to create an account on desktop and get started but it took a lot of tries to “sync” the account to the mobile app, even after it opened it wasn’t showing any tasks I created or letting me open settings. It’s rated so highly I hope it’s just buggy for me and I can figure out how to fix it.
Amazing
This is better than their competitors (Clockify)
No, thank you
I do not want calendar integration, but it is required to dismiss the "getting started" list.
Widget starts task without intended tags
I see tags in the run task widget but the started task did not have tags on it.
Just crashes
Used it every day for years, now all it does is crash on launch. Reinstalled, same issue.
Buggy, doesn’t do the basics well
Nice interface, just not executed well. I’ll log some hours, but they aren’t added to the weekly total unless I manually “sync” the app. And the MacOS app doesn’t work smoothly with iOS app - eg I start tracking on MacOS app, at some point the iOS app syncs and starts tracking as well, but when I end on MacOS app, the iOS app keeps going, and when I eventually stop the iOS app, the tool uses the incorrect hours from the iOS app. All too messy for what should a simple tracking tool.
Love the updates
Great company great app
randomly stopped syncing to the web app after one day
also the fact that i have to go to a separate web app to put together all the data and see totals across projects -_- silly and frustrating
A great app
It is extremely helpful for tracking my freelancing work. One thing I wish it had was a clearer space to list out and look over individual clients.
Disjointed, product team has no uniform vision across platforms
Two stars because the core idea works — press a button, time gets logged — but using this across more than one device exposes how disjointed the product is. The Android app, the macOS app, and the web app all look different, behave differently, and expose different features. Tasks behave one way on the web and another on mobile. Editing entries on Android is a fight. The Mac app feels like an afterthought next to the web version, which is itself the most capable but lives buried in a browser tab. Pick any two platforms and you'll find a feature that exists on one and not the other. This isn't polish drift over a release cycle — it's been a consistent complaint in reviews for years, which tells me they ship platform-by-platform instead of treating Toggl as one product. The vocabulary is also actively confusing. "Tasks" in Toggl aren't to-dos — they're sub-project labels for time entries, and they're hidden behind a paywall. New users reasonably assume the Tasks tab is a to-do list and then can't figure out why their tasks don't appear in the timer dropdown. It takes a real effort to build the correct mental model, and nothing in the onboarding helps.
Almost great
Lots of options for tracking things, but UI is a bit counterintuitive, sometimes too many options in a long list of settings. Also, there is no alarm (on iPhone at least) at the end of a pomodoro setting. This seems to have been a feature request from users for over six months, but still not implemented.
Phenomenal app
Omg this app is currently saving my life!! I can’t believe it is free!! Thank you so much, developers!!
Useless
I can’t get to settings, it couldn’t find my previous study logs so I lost all of it, can’t log out either. Waste of time
Simple and Easy
Love this app so far, usually I fall off of being consistent but something is working for me to always to remember to track my time. I would like more free visual settings I can change and customized.
App is not working
Just downloaded, it is neither allowing sign up using apple nor gmaill or using alternative mail Id. What is the point just to have app installed which can’t even be logged in and signed up.
Used to be good
I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY WOULD THEY REMOVE THE 'Start from last entry' button and give this inconvenient circle to add entries manually. Please revert this design, it's anti productive
I like it.
It doesn’t feel intrusive. I like that I can start a project, stop the timer, click on the project again and see all the time added up at the end while still being able to see the time tracked of each session.
Can’t Log In
I can’t seem to log in? Seems like other people here are having the same problem. Shame, as I love this on Chrome.
Easy and useful
I have been using Toggl for a few days now. I started during vacations to start new habits that I hope to maintain and improve back while routine will start again. I know about this app since many years, probably between 5 and 10. It seems easier to use now than when I tried before. I the program make the creation of task and projects quite easy. I hope to gain more clarity about my use of time and find way to improve my productivity and conscious choices.
Please add copy & paste function
I wish this iOS version has the ability to copy/clone an existing entry and “paste”/create from it for similar & repeating tasks.
Can’t log in
It’s a great app, but I haven’t been able to login now for a while. The app freezes every time I try to log in through Apple.
exactly what i was looking for
literally so good. the best part about it is the manual tracking feature so i can still log time that i know i spent without having to wait say an hour and a half. the ONLY complaint i have about the app is that i can’t change the background off of purple, or if there is don’t know how. but yes i def recommend.
Pomodoro doesn’t make sound
How is a timer that doesn’t ring when it’s done supposed to be useful exactly?
Excellent
Reliable and flexible
Lacks basic intelligence
Way too basic for an app like this in 2024 No reminders to confirm while a timer is ongoing. Only when you don't have a timer running, there is a feature to remind you to track. Again in todays day and age where focus is super diluted with so many notifications, a time tracker needs to evolve to help me stay on track and focused.
Lack of visibility in the app
First of all thank you so much for making and maintaining Toggle. It is really helping me in tracking my time and efforts. Thank you so much once again. During my use, I’ve notice some of the issues(personally felt) in the Toggle 1)All the data should be visible in Toggle app only. Why a user needs to login to the website if he/she already have the app itself? 2) On the landing page, YOUR ACTIVITY tab is annoying stays there. I think you should think on it once. I wanted to send you a screen recording but don’t know how. I hope Toggle team will think on these Thank you
Great tracker
A little bit confusing at first with all the features, but a great app once you get the hang of it!
Used to be good
Used to be great, now full of random junk, wanting access to my calendar, etc. It was great when the zero-to-value path was just sign in, track, here are some metrics.
Works easy
Fairly easy app to learn and use.
‘Your session has expired’
I really want to use Toggl, but every couple of days it logs me out saying that my session has expired. It creates a lot of friction when I just want to quickly start tracking an activity, and it also breaks my Apple Shortcuts that use Toggl actions. I wish the app stopped resisting me wanting to use it!
Didn’t get on with this app
at first this app seemed fine for my needs, which are pretty basic time recording. However started having problems. 1. if i forgot to stop a timer trying to correct the time entry was difficult. Can be done but just unintuitive and fiddly. 2. if the browser window wasn’t full screen the app simply hid the weekend days. 3. timesheet numbers didn’t match with calendar view .. although i’m not sure about this now. 4. often found myself with entries in my calendar that i fed not recognise. for example overlapping tasks. i’m sure it’s something i did wrong but even so there must be something unintuitive in the UI that was causing this to happen.
Best Project Time Interface
It’s a journal and time tracker in one. Brilliant UX.
Passkeys don’t work
Can log into the website using a passkey fine, but using the Mac app just results in a “oops! Something went wrong” window. So unusable
Enjoyable Experience
I genuinely use this app. Mostly via my iMac. I tend to enter my work of choice then begin to work away. The pomodoro option is great, truly. Overall I just enjoy this simple app, and honestly would even pay for it.
It's good in theory
I don't use the timer, so maybe I'm an outlier. I want to enter the time I spent on a task and move on. However, that is incredibly difficult to do 1) The date. When selecting a date, you'd have thought defaulting to either _today_ or the last entered date would be understandable, but neither of those happen. I can't figure out the actual date 2) entering times. Trying to enter a time is an exercise in frustration. I can't figure out the logic. 24 hour time or not? Not sure, I sometimes end up with times which span multiple days because I haven't figured it out, and when you try to type the characters randomly disappear. These all seem like obvious things to me (and were obvious to previous time tracking solutions I've tried). But maybe it's me?
Logs out all the time
It’s decent enough, but it logs out all the time, and the Apple Watch and macOS integration is flaky - they rarely show the running timer
Free, Easy to use, Motivational!
Free, Easy to use, and has optional reminders to “clock in” while working on your projects!
Fails to login on iOS 18
Completely unusable
Really like it
Really like it, just don’t fully know how to utilize some features because it’s unclear how to access them. The features I can figure out though work well.
Not sure why it doesn’t have a functional Apple Watch app
You’d think a time related app would allow you to work on it on an Apple Watch but it only lets you observe what’s running on your iPhone on the Apple Watch. Before I hear excuses, please look at any weightlifting app. They have even better timers despite being simple.
log in session keeps expiring
i really like toggl, but lately i keep getting logged out of my account after a day or so. pretty annoying having to login again and again
