App takes you outside to advertise’s apps without touching ad
This has been going on for a while now. I am scrolling down a story and without warning, I get whisked to Expedia’s web site, or to Walmart’s app on the App Store. I was just scrolling by and not interested in either of those apps or websites. I definitely didn’t click on either of them. This kind of behavior from Huffington Post’s app makes me abandon the app all together. Why do you think this is ok behavior? It is not! You’re cheating your advertisers and it makes me less likely to do any business with them. Stop inflating your advertising numbers, it’s cheating!
Keeps me informed!
The Huffington Post just as a great job looking over the whole territory and bringing me important information about a good in the bad of this country. Thank you very much
Ads
New video pop-up ads take up almost half my screen.
Costs
This too much for 1 months, part of HutfPost since day 1 …..too much $
Keeps me up-to-date
I really can’t stomach what’s going on in the political world today, however, I need to keep up with as many issues as I can because of my need to understand current events. So I’m able to read the headlines in the HuffPost every day, and it gives me a wonderful insight to what’s going on, and if there’s a story, I’m interested in it’s always beautifully written on HuffPost. Thank you, HuffPost.
Spinning Circle, Nothing Loads
None of the stories would load so I deleted the app and reinstalled it and now the app won’t even open. So I deleted the app and went to another news source.
Wish it was free
Wonderful news service. Wish it was free. Like old media in broadcast era. I’d rather see commercials that pay cash for access.
Can’t just read articles
What’s up with all the music playing? Just want to read the articles without noise. I have to turn volume off to do so. Very annoying, make me not pay for subscription.
Fix your app
Many pages are not viewable due to making the page jump around when you’re trying to read them. It’s been months and I’ve holding off on saying something until now. It’s super annoying and makes some pages unreadable.
Important news
A great source for news
Don’t pay
Not worth it
The app is generally quite slow with loads of ads. Will be great if they can make it less laggy
The app is slow with many ads. It will be great if they can make it like the guardian, yes with ads m, but at least less laggy and the ads are less in the way
Still getting ads
I paid the subscription fee to avoid the ads you get while playing the games. After the update I am now getting ads.
Keeps crashing
What’s going on with the app? It keeps on crashing when opening, and when clicking on an article to read it, it redirects to the Huffington Post online (opening the web browser) and/or opening advertiser pages online. This happens intermittently and it’s not as if I’ve changed my phone’s settings. Poor user experience. Can’t say I find the latest, updated UI an improvement. It looks chaotic, hard to get an overview due to the amount of information.
independent
we need to support free press! good daily source of information.
No real news
They haven’t had any real news for years. Just a synopsis of other reports work and now they want $10 a month for their garbage.
What has happened to my HuffPost app?
This morning this app has informed me that it is no longer available to share with me . Please let me know why . Ann Stearn
Comments malfunction
From time to time the comments section will not load. When I open comments all I get is a blank screen. This time it has been ongoing for a week. I have to go to the website to view comments, so what is the point of having the app?
Last update doesn’t work well
I really like HuffPost and I have been using the app for years, but the latest update does not work well on iPhone 8. Scrolling is terrible with lots of lag and delay. I can’t really use the app in this state, please fix!
Update
Glad to receive updates news!!!
Not worth paying a dime
Every single article is behind a paywall Bye bye
Canada’s federal taxes etc
If I could retrieve the article, I would give you 5 stars.
Bad Ads
HuffPost pushes bad ads, stuff I don’t want to have clutter a news feed. Shamefully poor!
Fix it please!
Little annoyed that every time you scroll to read an article it ends up bringing you to another article. Too many underlines.
Gripping
I am thrilled to read HuffPost. I agree and trust the reporting. Sure it's biased. But not without HuffPost is not without facts. I am gratrful for more knowledge. I have criticsl thinking skills!
No access to content
Despite contributing $10 a month the website keeps me locked out of content. Please correct!
Environment and Climate Change
I’m most worried about the world ecosystems and the utter lack of real concern by most Canadian governments. When are we going to take drastic action to avoid the looming climate disasters. Certainly there is no action but only a charade by the Trudeau government and the Conservative are a total “lost cause” in that department.
Too many ads & inserted tweets
The content was fine, both varied and humorous, but far too many ads and tweets inserted into the stories. The app more or less grinds to a halt fairly quickly, even on my iPad. Too difficult to get the news when this happens.
Nice try
Content is decent, tone is hysterical, HP seems to think publishing Twitter or Late Night TV hosts remarks is reporting news. Widget has been stuck with the same item in entertainment for weeks. Lazy, really lazy. Ready to switch to CNN permanently. Hopefully HP can wake up...
Information one can trust
I trust the information on Huffington. I also like that most information is given in a straightforward and plain way.
What??
Can’t read any articles even though I am paying $5 a month. Don’t know what’s wrong or how to correct it.
Broken!
Latest update broke it. The link to "App support" takes you to a web version of the HuffPost. If it really took you to AppSupt I would have left my grumble there. I'm reading it in Italian, if that's relevant... Click on the icon: it opens and dies right away. Normally an excellent app otherwise.
It’s buggy
Not a single page loads correctly but halts and usually slides over to a different page .. The number of times it has said REFRESH.. in the last hour 5 times
Latest version won’t open!
Latest version won’t open!
Journalism, not propaganda
True journalism and reporting are the only tools we have to be an educated electorate (esp since this country devalues and eliminates education). Stay out of the dark - the light of responsible journalism is our only way forward when under fascist, anti-american rule.
Thank you HuffPost
I am very grateful you’ve begun to start charging for articles on the HuffPost app (not the website, mind you—such a brilliant business decision). Unable to afford every paywall, I can now concentrate solely on my New York Times subscription and give up your National Enquirer-esque click-bait style journalism. I feel like a monkey has been lifted from my shoulders and truly appreciated you helping me remove your app with the relief of giving up a truly bad habit. Many thanks.
It's good but …
This is one of my favourite news apps and I always went to it at least once a day. But now, they've made it less user friendly, but changing the format for sections. You used to be able to scroll up and down to check out which section you wanted to read next, but now it's a menu to swipe left to right, and if you want a section that's all the way at the end of the list, then you must keep swiping until you get to it. No quick scrolling anymore. I wish they'd change it back so it would get my 5 star vote like it used to deserve.
UpdTe
Need newer material
Used to be good....
Classic case of ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’. It used to work well (apart from the appalling English, errors and poor editing). But every time there’s an update it gets worse. Crashing, some stories won’t open, photo lists/slideshows never open now and the comments seem to have disappeared. It’s just taking up space in my phone. Time to give up and delete!
Love Huff Post
I love the truth telling headlines, honest stories and so much more! Bravo!
Application is not synchronized with membership.
I donate ten dollars a month. It doesn’t appear that your application is synchronized with my donation. Is there another payment option. I just had the money deducted on August 10th
Almost 5 star only because
There is no version for Australia, at time of this review.
Uninstalling after years of use
There are so many links in the articles, making it waaay to easy to accidentally open a link while scrolling through articles. Incredibly frustrating.
Comments no longer showing/active
This used to be a favourite app (despite terrible English in the articles and poor editing) but now the comments do t seem to be active. Come in HuffPost - get a grip.
Reliable Media
HuffPost is one of the most reliable and trustworthy media. I depend on its journalism to keep me aware of what is actually going on. Bravo! Keep up the good work.
Don't waste your time
Huffpost used to be different in that they used to allow reading articles with adds. Now they charge a variety of tiers. It's not worth it. There are several other news apps. These apps provide better news and less fluff.Often no cost
Best news app I've got
Smooth, sleek design and feel. Easy to use. Can favourite topics of interest. Modern look and feel. A near perfect app
Opens new pages as you scroll
One of the recent updates added hyperlinking within the stories so it’s difficult to scroll and read stories without opening new pages. Driving me crazy
Articles are perfectly balanced but....
please fix the iPad version. In landscape mode it loses itself in appy land. 🤪🤓
