The best!
I discovered this app and website last year and used it to cycle from home to Switzerland with my tent. The navigation is clear and easy to use. I’m normally a road cyclist but the app seduced me onto tracks and forest trails which I loved. Easy to revert to tarmac when I wanted to. All of the information regarding accommodation and campsites was up to date and so useful in planning day to day. I’ve recommended it to so many cycling friends.
Android/Microsoft app
I tried this app. First day around Newcastle. Cluttered, clunky interface. Second day in Wales. Much tinkering with too many settings which ought to be set to the obvious default. Third day trying to cycle through Cheshire, after riding 9 hours, I realised I’d ridden in a circle. Eight hours wasted.
I use it Daily
App does a great job finding the lower traffic routes. One issue I have is it doesn’t reroute automatically and sometimes looses my precise location. I have to stop, restart the route planning to get a correct route.
Pausiert medien nach jeder Kreuzung
Die routen an sich sind erstmal nicht schlecht aber dass nach jedem abbiegen ein budup sound kommt der medien pausiert ist unfassbar nervig
Can’t plan a route from home
I downloaded the app based on fantastic reviews. App looks and feels great, but I’m sure I’m missing something. Click on Plan, select where from and where to. Buttons below are get route and plan return. Clicking on either does absolutely nothing. If I then just use the where to field next to pls , I select a destination, but the route shown starts miles away from where I am when at home. Or, I can plan a route from home but the route ends miles away from my destination. Clearly I’m doing some wrong here, but close to giving up
Very Good!
TBH, I came across the website by accident and initially just used it to nab GPX files. When you realise that it’s free (I now voluntarily pay a ‘coffee’ each month as a resource this good needs to be supported!). Fantastic for planning routes, joining together cycle routes plus you can use it for accommodation, food stops etc. Yes this can be done manually but why reinvent the wheel and spend time doing it? Give it a go!
Can’t find a thing
I can’t find routes unless you donate to become a donor but there is no info on fees or minimum “donation “ for services.
Game changer
I live in Denver, CO, USA and though there are hundreds of miles of bike paths and bike lanes on the roads throughout the area connecting a route to get from point A to point B can be a challenge. This App is great. When I ask for a round trip it gives me loop rather than a simple out and back. The maps show all of the route options so I know where a trail goes when I cross intersecting trails. The audio directions and alerts, even while listening to music, allow me to turn off the screen. Try it for free and trust me you will quickly sign up to support this App every month.
AMAZING
amazing app directs you through quiet streets and cycle lanes. I love this app so much THANK YOU
Broken
Nothing works. Can’t even tap on a menu item or move the map. It’s essentially just a static screen of my current location. Which is per creepy actually.
Excellent with some caveats
Better than Strava or other GPS apps for quickly generating routes that are actually optimized for cyclists. The display is intuitive and follows your location without sucking battery, helpful when my phone displays on long rides. The vocal commands are extremely strange (programmed in a foreign language) and therefore incomprehensible which means I cannot rely on audio and must keep the screen on my entire ride.
So underrated!
I’ve being using the App Store since the iPhone 3G - I think I could count how many times I’ve given an app 5 stars and this is one of those rare times. When I was looking for a free app to route my bike rides, I didn’t think I would find an app that does everything I want it to do for free, but I did. The routing is much better than Google maps (keeps you off the road as much as possible or on quite roads) the maps are super clear and smooth to use, to top it off you can click and find local hotels or campsites to stay at so the worry for long distance pre planing is kinda nonexistent, or at-least it’s a nice feature to fall back on if you’re ever caught short. I’m thankful that the devs decided to make this app for free without ads or anything annoying! If they do have a paid version, I’m very much enticed to pay for it - if this is a free app then one could only expect good thinks from this dev team
Feature Request
Absolutely fantastic app for commuting (paved & gravel) and worth the coffee subscription! Please add a function to upload GPX files so I can use for off road MTB action. I will happily increase my subscription for this feature which will kill all other cycling apps!💥 Thanks, Matt
Good for route planning
Really good for planning paved routes for road cycling. Much better than using google maps or others in my experience. Display is good when riding too. Easy to plan a route online and then save to phone.
Very nice app!
Find little roads, clear directions and easy to use. Unfortunately a couple of little bugs, witch still to fix's yet.
Simply the best
Simply the best cycle route planning and navigation app around. It’s all free, and worth integrating with the website to save your routes and discover more. Also pay a little each month for more features and a range of background mapping.
Simply the best!
The functionality is great. I hate busy roads and will do most things to avoid them; therefore I use this planner lots! I have been a supporter ever since I found it.😇
Great for quiet lanes
Ok, the interface is not as smooth as let’s say Google Maps, but the choice of lanes makes up for it. The option to create routes ahead of time and offline is amazing.
My preferred cycle route making service
This is by far the most approachable cycling app I have used, doesn’t bother with the extraneous distractions, just makes making great routes easy. Tip: can be useful to use the browser version on mobile to have more options, the app seems focused on following the route, if you want to edit routes the mobile browser version is very intuitive and convenient.
Brilliant App
Downloaded the app and put it to work on a 30 mile triangular route. Perfect cycling friendly navigation, advance warning of turns and very clear concise mapping. Full marks to the designer of the app and thank you.
