Been useful
Brit Stops is a super idea. If you have a camper van and want to try different stops for free or very little then ideal. You never really know what you’re going to get but other people’s reviews help. Think the only trouble is there are some super pubs, stay in the car park and have a great meal plus a couple of drinks and you have spent more than a camp site! But then you would need food on top of camp site fees anyway! Excellent way to experience different places. App seems to work fine.

Could be so good
In Wales in spring 2026, and found few suitable options. Some closed, some small vans only, and some just sounded poor. Needs more content / sites to be of value (especially for £44 a year). Will not renewing.
No way to cancel auto renew
Beware with these, they put auto renew on every membership. I’ve tried to just take off auto renew but seems that’s not possible, you have to just cancel membership which I’ve still 6 months left. Why should I lose access for 6 months for wanting to cancel it when what I’ve paid for runs out? Seems like a scam to me; no need to make it difficult.
Need an option to search ‘near me’
Like the app but really needs an option to search the area that you are in
New user.
We are new to the site and find it a brilliant thing. I found I’d easy to use. Great for breaking up the long journeys down to the south coast to visit family.
Scam
Despite what they say it’s not possible to cancel your membership after the first year. I have contacted them via email also but they keep trying to take the new subscription. I’ve had to contact my bank to stop them. I’m not alone in this. Look at the reviews!!!

Auto Renew catch
I was hoping that Brit Stops would have options in city centres for overnight stops but struggled to find anywhere suitable so it didn’t work for us. App usability to search for locations is also poor. After a year of not using any Brit Stop locations it auto renewed without any prior notice, which I did not appreciate. However, within a week of cancelling my membership I received a full refund. Credit to them for responding and refunding quickly. Not all auto renew app providers do this.
Glitch issues still
Continues to glitch at times, tried reloading and again issues not being able to log into the app. Quite temperamental which is annoying because we have used the site and it’s a great idea. Please sort so we can continue to use
Our 1 st stopovers with Brit stops
Had our 1 st 2 stop overs since joining both have been amazing stopovers absolutely loved the places we’ve stayed at so far and hosts have been amazing !
Britstops doesn’t stop
Never really used the service and was just curious. most stops appear to be just pubs, which often let you stay if you buy a meal. However, buyer beware of the autorenew con , which doesn’t stop, as Britstops keeps taking money even if you don’t use the app. the Cancel button is buried deep in the membership menu and doesn’t appear in the apple subscription tab on your phone like other services subscribed too. Worse still if you cancel a couple of days after the auto renew is dues you get another whole year of misery as they don’t off refunds. Very poor service. Avoid at all cost unless you want to give your money away for nothing!
Much better but still some room for improvement
The upgraded app is much better. I love the fact that I can plan a route and see what stops are available along the way, and the filters are useful. However, when I search for a specific town I would like a pin to be dropped there rather than the app just zooming in on a general area. Personally I would prefer vehicle sizes in metres rather than feet (or both).
Nothing special
It is just a regular app that shows pubs and attractions, missing alot of parking spots and comfortable overnight stays. You can easily get the same info on Google Maps.
Not too accurate
A bit disappointed as there is a lot of miss information. We’ve found a few pubs that when you go onto them are no longer open and have been told of others that are Brit stop hosts that aren’t on the app. Very hard to plan but the pubs we have been to on here have been really great, thanks

I’m glad I joined Britstop. Cheaper than a campsite.

Leider gibt es in der App keine Anzeige zum aktuellen Standort. Somit ist das Suchen nach möglichen Stellplätzen in der Umgebung eher mühsam. Und eigentlich sollten die Plätze ja kostenlos sein. Dafür verzehrt oder kauft man etwas beim „Gastgeber“. Unser 1. Stellplatz aus der App kostet 10 Pfund. Egal, ob man die Vignette hat oder nicht. Ich würde es nicht nochmal kaufen.
Good, but could be so much better
Very handy app and lots of locations however it could be made much better by having the availability to filter more option based on dog friendly, amenities, waste and fresh water options. It mentions these within the location details but doesn’t have the option to filter to this level.
The Orange Tree Baldock
My first Brit Stop was very successful at the Orange Tree Baldock. Rob was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the meal made from local produce, and was pleasantly surprised by how lively it was for a Sunday night, due to 70s music played with vinyl records. It was very peaceful and I slept like a log. Thanks very much. Loraine x
Good when it works !
You pay for this app, it works intermittent! fails to work at the most important time when you need it on the road looking for places to stay. I’ve removed it, reloaded it again logged in and out etc, would prefer a refund !
Needs an upgrade
A lot of places listed on here actually charge you for the night, which seems to be against the idea of Brit Stops. There’s no easy way to report it in the app either. It would also be nice if the app was clearer as to whether or not places have electrical hookups, and the ability to filter searches based on utilities would make a huge difference. Overall it’s a handy thing to have, but it’s fairly expensive compared to other apps considering how basic it is.

Great app helped us newbies out on our first weekend away! Both stops were fab and so helping , we’re glad we paid for the app 💕 hopefully many more stops to visit over the years.

Pretty Rubbish
Locations shown incorrectly on the map. Several in the sea off Devon, not even close to where they’re meant to be. £44 per year is a bit steep for what is essentially a digital map.
Please please give us the book back
Expensive for an app that’s duplicating many of the stops anyway. Look a France Passion as a model, far far better value, book, membership sticker, card……… far far better

Fairly new to Britstops and have used it 3 times in the past month. No complaints.
Useless!
I used to be able to do a vicinity search in relation to where I was. Now all I have is a map covered in orange pint glasses, with no indication on the as to where I am. Not without planning a route anyway. If I don't know the area I'm in, how can I plan a route. i.e We're stuck in a horrendous traffic jam on the M1, and can't see which of the orange pints would be beat for us to stop at. Also the app is restricted to one device only. So absolutely useless if my wife should need to travel alone at any time. Because the app is on my phone. Why is it that upgrades these days, are the complete opposite of an upgrade, and render a good app' completely useless?😡
