Review of CNET APP
Was to review the APP which I am completely hooked on it’s my go to source of expertise before buy my electronics also an excellent source for new products
Slow startup
Splash screen doesn’t need to take 5 seconds
Our team is Loved
All AWS to watches my health
Won’t Update
The app used to update every day, but there has been nothing updated in nearly an entire week.
Tired for surfing
How about adding a search button, I don’t like surfing through everything to see if you have something I want to read. Doesn’t seem like an improvement .
Good app
Although it seems to get stuck, as in, the different articles always are the same as the last time you looked at it. Usually it’s that way. But all in all, it’s a good app.
BAD
The app(stories) have not been updated in over a week and there are no pictures anymore. CNET needs to issue an update immediately.
Not Helpful
80% product reviews and endorsements. Not much news or new technical information.
Headlines Won’t Refresh
The app used to populate with relevant tech news in the top carrousel, but has not updated in over 6 months. I’ve tried uninstalling the app, refreshing, and closing/relaunching it to no avail. Frustrating app for a great news source.
CNET
CNET ROCKS 🇰🇷
Broken App
The app has gotten progressively worse over the years. Assets and articles don’t load. The app is stale and doesn’t seem like it’s really been updated in years to the point where the main article has been about a Samsung ring from 6 years ago.
Unable to Login
Every time that I attempt to login in the app it gives an error that says “Oops. Something went wrong. Leader try again later.” This has been an issue for months with no resolution. And my login is correct as I can login on the website with the same credentials.
Upgrade
I’ve been a CNET subscriber for years; however, when I tried to upgrade the app,it wouldn’t upgrade.I had to delete the app,the add the updated version.Needless to say,the app thinks I’m a new user…make the upgrade user friendly.
Does not update
App only shows old articles. It’s now been a month and still the same!!!
Outdated version
Every time I click on an email it opens with “you’re using an outdated version”. So I update to the newest version but I keep getting the same “outdated version” message. I used to enjoy this app but now it is so annoying & I don’t know how to fix the issue
Stopped Updating
As of 25 July all app content/articles have not updated in at least 3 days. Tried removing the app and reinstalling with the same issues. App support option just goes to the actual website, which has updated articles. As a long time user this is incredibly disappointing and frustrating, especially since article content and quality have been going downhill along with app functionality.
Annoying - bad UX on iPhone
App does not respect user's choices on iPhone. E.g. video previews interrupt active music listening.
App constantly says outdated
Every time app is opened, I get a dialog box that the app is outdated and needs to be refreshed in the App Store. In the App Store it only states Open, that it was updated two months ago. And whatever prompted me to go to CNET is then forgotten when the app opens to the home page and not the desired location.
Doesn’t update top part
The app hasn’t updated its front tile since last year. I tried to delete and reinstall, still showing content like a review for a Samsung ring. The other content updates when scrolling down, but the ones on the top never does
Tease
Email promo showed an article about cyber security for the home. The app shows endless ads and no way to find the story I care about.
Won’t allow log in
The CNET website on a web-browser allows me to log in perfectly fine, but when I attempt to log into the app, it always fails (even with my saved log-in info from the keychain). I use the same exact info to log into the app, and I keep receiving this error message - “Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later.”
Prefernces, why ask?
Asks for your preferences and proceeds to dump a bunch of articles that you didn’t want. Why ask? Deleted.
Same thing
My cnet app has had the same headline stories for the last 6 months. All the stories I have been getting recently are about internet provider in random town America.
Inappropriate ads in app
CNET, you need to make sure you are reviewing the ads that are being posted in your app, many are extremely inappropriate adult content. And there is no way to report or block them in your app. Get this addressed asap, or I will report to Apple App Store.
Bummer!
I see a headline that I’m interested in and when I click on it it’s not to be found! Click bait?
