What people like
- Easy to use for beginners
- Great for scanning indoor spaces
- Works well with iPhone LiDAR
What they complain about
- Subscription costs are too high
- Must pay to export measurements
- Hard to cancel your subscription
- App crashes and has bugs
Rocking Great App
We’ve made great use of the space mode underground for greatly improving our ventilation survey results. Cutting cross sections on the fly is so handy! Easy to teach my engineers how to accurately determine the cross sectional areas has been widely embraced. We are going enterprise.
Subscription Charges after Cancellation
I was charged $400 after I cancelled. My case has been submitted but would warn anyone that does a free trial to assume you will be charged $400 and have to fight for or it dispute it with your credit card.
Can’t get past onboarding
The app does not play well with iPhone. Onboarding company info page will not scroll. Stuck with no way around it.
Expensive
Why are the ratings displayed as being so high; yet I see many persons gave it one or two stars complaining about the expense and other issues?
Costs
I wish I could see the price before downloading and signing in. The cost is $30 per month or $150 per year. The program looks cool but that’s too much for a hobbyist. I’m not a fan of subscription based programs.
Five Stars
Great app and I love that I’m able to create the models and floor spaces using my iPhone and the lidar on it.
Slow
Not useful for large commercial renovations
Good ethics
Couldn’t unsubscribe and the app charged me over $700. I was stressed until I just received a msg saying they are helping asap, which shows me they are have good ethics. Giving them 4 stars only cuz I tried to unsubscribe and it was super difficult
Waste of time
Scanned 6 times trying to get an object with “scan object”, every time came out looking horrible, only scanning the background instead of the thing right in front of it. Gave 2 stars bc it had a free trial so I didn’t waste my money, but definitely wasted my time.
Good but…
So much bug and crashes pls fix it
Just have fun with it!
It’s really up to you whether you want to make this a tool or a toy. Next time you go somewhere on vacation, just have fun with it!
Lost 80% of my scans
Updated the app and lost 80% of my scans.

Not good
Got it to measure an area of a room. Gave me individual length measurements but not overall room measurement
Lots of issues in an ok tool
Even in the “Pro” subscription features as simple as total square footage are reserved for business and enterprise level subscribers- this doesn’t handle grates, windows, mirrors or openings well - especially if large - and an outdoor pergola was impossible - the photo composite even with an iPhone 17 Pro was really weak - even after spending time to capture bottom edges, corners and ceilings for reference - lighting wasn’t the issue. This could be a useful tool but essentially starting at $200/ year it doesn’t have enough functionality for my uses at this price
Great app!
I use it for scanning as built spaces and then converting into 2d and 3d drafting views!
Not great for objects, mandatory subscription
I wanted this to get measurements and blueprints for a couple of objects. Not rooms or floor plans. It required a non-refundable subscription just to scan, and then when the results were extremely underwhelming and impossible to use, it then wanted even more money for a business account for that. I deleted the app but am unfortunately out $30.
Amazing but too expensive
This app has many amazing features that could be considered “futuristic.” It is helpful for professional and recreational uses.
Gouging
Since yall want to ask me for a review every time I open the bloody thing here you go, works well for taking scans but you can’t do anything with the scans without paying for the membership, which is outrageous- how am I supposed to tell if you guys even export to an STL correctly? Yuck.
Surprisingly good
Very fun to use and easy to translate into Rhino.
Very nice
Nice job
Confusing initial login
A cobnfusing initial login has a skip option resulting in the app permanently deadlocked even on reinstall😖
Small projects
If the project is small is perfect but large projects lacks precision and takes for ever to update
Not great for 3d modeling rooms
If your use case is creating 3d models of interior spaces, save yourself the time and skip this one. The captured model has slightly bent walls, holes in objects, totally wrong colors, etc. I didn’t try the other functionality like making floor plans but I could see it working better for that.
Issues
Certain things just don’t work. Uploading a video from iPhone - spinning wheel, and no progress. The option (mentioned in documentation) to reprocess a photogrammetry model as Gaussian splat seems to be absent.

Premium
I dislike the fact that you have to pay to actually continue using the app.
It could be the app all realestate photographers will have
It really has potential to be a game changer. It has some quirks but for the price it’s awesome. What I like. 1. The price because I don’t have to charge the realtor allot for packages and let’s me I turn be competitive with my prices. This is a volume industry ,having a price and product that everyone is happy with will keep the clients coming back again and again. 2. I like that I get measurements on the spot and able to turn the floor plan around same day. 3. I like that I don’t have to buy 3-5k equipment to get floor plans and really does anyone care that we don’t have a great 360 tour? That’s what a good video is for. What I don’t like is 1:having to tweak the floor plan like the names of the rooms. Not the end of the world. 2 it can Be a little hard with closets but it hasn’t affected the over all square ft. 3. It doesn’t have the dimensions per room layout but hopefully should come in the updates. Over all the cost and potential out weigh the negatives and I would recommend this over some other services I’ve used and some of the other apps out there.
Unfortunately did not work
Unfortunately did not work for my two phones or properties that I tried to capture and had to cancel
Make one time purchase available
Would make a purchase if it was one time payment instead of subscription, very expensive for what it dose, would rather buy a scanner and get some usable modes.
Nice
Perfect software
Fake
Not a free
Good app
I like the app it works alright for me making models to see what I need to make for my vehicle I’m fixing with my dad
Problème au traitement de gros fichiers
Soyez averti que ce logiciel semble rencontrer des problèmes relativement au traitement de gros fichier.
Interesting piece of software
It seems like it works fine but the base subscription doesn’t let you access much (wanted to get a floor plan of my house). Most useful features are reserved for the business subscription which cost much more. Not for everyday folks.
The best app
Photogrammetry to me is one of the greatest things of this century along with drones and of course the two go well together. Gaussian Splats make 3Ds scanning even cooler and it was so wonderful that Polycam implemented Gaussian Splats into the ecosystem right when the white-paper came out of France!
So many failed uploads! So much unfinished processing!
Boo
Good but Expensive
I started using Polycam a few years ago. It is really simple to use and creates some great 3D objects which can then be used in a range of applications. The subscription used to be more reasonably price, but now seems quite expensive. Especially as I only want to use it for fun and learning, not in a professional capacity.
Small unfinished wood part
I liked the interface and it worked well, and the processing speed was good. The object scanner didn’t work well with a small (less than 6” long), thin, unfinished wood part.
Capture
Great

Not letting me cancel my subscription
Not letting me cancel my subscription. They are conveniently having login issues.
easy to use
and very interesting
Small Items
Still low quality geometry on Object mode.
Ok but laggy
Fine
Awesome
Really great product
Who does this work for??
Not sure who gets 5 stars from this app. I just tried to get a simple floor plan of a 2000 sqft house. Every time I thought I was about done it said it lost its scanning and I would have to start over. Never was able to get to scan more than 2-3 rooms before it quit scanning. There is no way this is a useful tool for anyone.
Amazing app … but too pricey
The capabilities of this app are amazing, but goddamit 22 a month is crazy
Good App, Awful Paid Plan
There are many excellent lidar and software features in Polycam. You have to pay to access them. Fine. I paid for the premium plan. Do a scan of my kitchen. Great. Now export with measurements. Nope! You need to “upgrade” to the business plan. Polycam needs to find a less explorative approach. Look elsewhere for an affordable lidar app. This app just wants to pick your pocket.
