The app started out ok, but overtime nearly every feature was bricked & now is essentially useless. What are they even trying to do now? Thanks for training your models from all of our data & then bait & switch scamming

Amazing app… When it works
I love this app, it’s amazing when it works and I am a keen user to remember scenes and places. The biggest issue for me over the past 6+ months is how often I get the error “upload failed” and “could not create capture”. It’s not the capture, because it almost always ends up working in the end, but sometimes it takes hundreds of tried.

CAPTURES DASHBOARD NOT WORKING
I can’t have access to my captures dashboard. The URL ‘lumalabs.ai/dream-machine/captures leads to a bran ld new site and does not allow me to access my captures. Also, the phone app is not charging and says ‘safari cannot open bc site was not found’. Can anybody please check this issue? It is causing me issues.
Quality Issue: Significant Detail Loss from 5GB 4K Source Material
Hi Luma AI Team, I'm a 3D creator using Luma for a high-detail sculpture. I uploaded a 4K H.264 video (5GB), but the final model has significant texture loss and "melted" artifacts, far below the source quality. Is this due to cloud-side compression on large files? To preserve 4K details for FPV-style animations, would you recommend manually uploading JPG frames instead of video? Also, is a "lossless" processing path planned for Pro users? I'd love to achieve higher fidelity results with your tech. Thanks!

Don’t waste your time. Nothing in the app works anymore. Not sure why and I don’t care to do research and I don’t know why it’s not working. I have been trying for days. I thought I was doing it wrong or something but don’t worry it’s not you. The app is just dead.

Slower Processing Times
I have been using this app ever since it was first announced and have loved every second of it. Making these new scanning technologies so accessible has been a dream for me and this made it a reality. In addition to this, they are still implementing new techniques as well such as their new gaussian splatting usage. However, the scan processing times have become a bit outrageous. Before, I only had to wait a maximum of 15-20 minutes for a scan to process. However, in the recent months, it’s taken literal days or even weeks. I don’t bother scanning anything anymore because I just dont know when i’m ever going to get it back. If the servers are so overloaded, a message in the app indicating this would still be a huge help and a relief.

Well, OK I’m John Victor Jacobson and I’ve been flying aircraft since the mid 1960s and this app here does a spectacular job rendering drone shot orbits videos. This is a spectacular product.🇺🇸👍😎
14 Hours and waiting
I’ve been waiting for my capture to complete for 14 hours. No progress bar, eta, or signs of completing. This is my first capture. I wouldn’t waste your time.

Why is there error for a long time
Rendering time is outrageous
I appreciate that the app is free, & only recently tested it for the first time. The results were stunning for the one object I scanned, but it took at least two days before I got the scan back. There are zero situations where this is viable. I did another scan 24hrs ago (still queued), with no idea when that will arrive (& it was a much smaller object/area), which is somewhat ridiculous. I’d happily pay for a faster service, but there doesn’t seem to be one. It’s crazy, as the results are amazing, but sorta unusable due to the time it takes.
Amazing product scans
As an industrial designer, I have to deal with a lot of soft goods and fabric products that cannot be easily re-created in 3-D systems. I had yet to find an easy scanning application on the iPhone until this one that could produce reliable recreations for rendering purposes. It’s truly amazing how well the scans come out and are ready to use in Key Shot or Blender.

It works 70% of the time. In that 30% it still comes out great ( depends on phone camera and how much detail you got ) but it can also take upwards of 3 days to process if they are nearly at full capacity Adding onto my last review I have been waiting 4 days and it is showing no sign of taking me of a queue will update when and if it gets past this stage
iPhone not supported
Make sure your iPhone is supported. My 2022 SE2 isn’t. Real pity the app looks fun!

Im really hoping someone can tell me this is user error issue but I have attempted scanning a couple of my sculptors .. that was about 2 weeks ago and the app still says its processing ? Is this normal?

It’s good but it’s hard for me to use because although I have a iPhone XS it still says I need iPhone 11 or higher that’s it.

Amazing potential - broken privacy settings?
Relatively easy to scan an object! Not sure how to scan an object that I only have one side view of, such as a building? Not clear. The real concern here is scans that are set to private don’t seem private at all. Several on the app say “private” but I’m clearly viewing them. Equally, a scan I made with private is viewable by other when I share. Is this working correctly?
