- Completely free with no ads
- Accurate to professional hardware meters
- Great for learning photography basics
- Intuitive design once you learn it
What they complain about
- Interface feels cluttered and confusing
- App crashes or won't open
- Gives wildly wrong exposure readings
- Developer ignores improvement suggestions
Great for reversal printing
Actually goes down to .8 iso and has a built in timer. Really great for doing reversal print pictures on the paper in camera. Well thought out and intuitive to use.
Useless
I need a simple normal photography light meter. Not sure what usage this is for.
I wish the tutorial could be more detailed. The software itself is really great though. ୧( "̮ )୨✧ᐦ̤
Not for me, might be OK for some.
Difficult to figure out. I was looking for something more intuitive.
Best Lightmeter app
Best one out there and it’s free!
Difficult to use
Difficult to use - the developer accuses me of lying. Not the response you’d like to get… I did delete this app. I did not like it. I am entitled to my opinion.
Very good, but missing features
I love this app, but why don’t you give options above f16? My camera goes to f32 and maxes at 400SS, so I’m having to guess iris stops past 16, which I often am past 16 in very bright scenes.
Alles was man braucht.
So much care and attention
There’s clearly been so much care and attention gone into making this app, there’s plenty of options and settings. Unfortunately it’s just far too cluttered and too much information on one screen at the same time. I think this app really needs a design overhaul as really you just want 3 boxes on the screen showing SS - AP - ISO and the ability to lock 1 or 2 for different shooting modes and then maybe a second screen for more in depth settings. For casual and quick shooting it’s just too much for the eyes and takes a while to read the information for a clear answer on exposure settings. I really appreciate what the developer has done with this app and clearly has put a lot of thought into it but in its current state I just can’t rate it higher over other options on the App Store
The way apps should be made!
This is in my opinion an essentially perfect app. No data collected. Easy, intuitive and forgiving user interface. Actually helps me understand the concept, as someone new to metering scenes. On top of that, I have the opportunity to tip the creator. And the app size is exemplary! Every app creator can learn something from this. Well done!
Extremely inaccurate
While being quite accurate indoors in low light, the measurements are extremely off during daytime outside. E.g. the app suggests to use f22 with a 1/500s exposure during a slightly cloudy day with ISO 400 film. Absolutely terrible!
Good app with minor problem
This app is simple and easy to use but one minor problem that I find very annoying is that each time I open the app, a dialogue pops up and I have to close it, the button for closing is not even obvious. Often when I need to use the app, I need it quickly because I’m usually trying to capture a fleeting moment that may only last seconds more, or I may be capturing something moving or I’m on something that is moving and need it quickly to measure the light and take the photo. It would be great if pop ups and dialogues can be removed so the app can be used quickly.

Best app for film photography students!
This app just saved my semester 😂 It really helped me have a clearer idea of the concepts and seeing them working in “real time” was a game changer. It also helped me understand reciprocity. It is a clean and very intuitive app. You have exactly what you need right there! I highly recommend it to anyone struggling to grasp some concepts in theory because once you see how everything instantly works, it all starts making sense :) Thank you for making this possible, and for free! I’ll keep donating because this is such a great tool! Keep the good work 🙌🏼

Not accurate as other app and Hand meter
A few things could improve. Emailed the developer and never heard back regarding my opinions for improvement. Selecting the film is tedious and takes far to long. The window needs to be larger or type and a drop down appears for speed. Not in any order so hard to find. To make a purchase. The developer has joking titles that tell you nothing about what you gain in features and ability. Unable to reach developer for answers is a must. Can’t recommend this or the log app either for these reasons.
Free No Ads Accurate
Free. Accurate to my Leica MP meter and no ads. I tipped and I might just send a $1 or $2 every shoot. It being free makes me feel guilty.
Terrible
Terrible interface. Terrible UX. terrible UI. Confusing. Not clear. Cluttered. Unnecessary. Generally shambolic. Also be warned, Designer states free app to then proceed to say to purchase after trial thus it’s not free.

A little confusing but great
Ultimately this apps works and gets the job done pretty nicely. The app is great and the developer doesn’t force ads down your throat, you can opt to view one to support which is nice. I found the onboarding guide a little confusing, I didn’t know where to look on the fstop/shutter speed thing on the left. Also, I would really appreciate this app not collecting data used to track me at all. Edit: I read the devs privacy policy which is quite reasonable, and it seems like only the third party ad service collects data used to track, however I’m not sure if this is triggered only when you view an advert.
Amazing app. Accurate
Take a minute to learn the layout, but this app is truly fantastic for metering if your camera doesn't have a built-in light meter. I especially enjoy the spot meter function.
One step to perfect
The app got great and beautiful UI and it is easy to use. But I don’t know if I set anything wrong, the app seems not quite smooth. Every time I change a set, the app just froze for a second and then change its set. My phone is iPhone11. I admit that it is a little bit old, but relatively it is still a high performance device. Hope the developer can do something to change the situation.
Best light meter app out there
No ads, free, and accurate. Tons of features and gets consistent updates. I don’t usually write reviews but this one gets an exception.

Confused on how to use the app
How do I know what shutter speed and aperture to use on the app i’m new to film photography
Most Thoughtful Design ✨
I've tried so many other light meter apps and this one is truly designed with everything in mind and delightful to use!
Buggy and not usable
Compared to the free offerings, this is terrible. It’s a pity because this looks so pretty. Logging itself is a massive pain as it requires a companion application that doesn’t work and is not really integrated in any way. Why aren’t these two just one application?
How to do read the F stop/shutter speed on the side?
Moving the f stop slider up and down I have no idea what f stop I’ve selected. I see it’s giving me recommendations for the shutter speed I see but how do I know what stop is selected?? There’s no trick or indicator maybe I’m not reading it right
