A great app that allowed me to resurrect a great old Spotmatic. The ability to set profiles to match your lenses is great.

In a word, No
This app is easily surpassed by several competitors. Two stars because it will "sometimes" read exposure data from iPhone photos, which is helpful in determining exposure compensation, and is a great idea...If it worked all the time.
Tested
Readings seem close enough to my dslr meter. The spot meter uses an incredibly large area of the photo instead of a spot making that mode unusable for me. Other apps can spot meter on a far smaller area of the image. Hopefully an update to choose smaller areas to spot meter will come at some point.

DO NOT BUY
Does not work on either iPhone 13 mini or iPhone 16 PRO, both on IOS 18.0.1. Presented with a black screen with no menu or controls. Tried changing display and camera settings to see if this would help. NOTHING. App is useless. Requested a refund from Apple.

Why can’t I select independent values for shutter speed and f stop and see a preview? The app seems to work like a camera on automatic settings where you can’t change one setting without it automatically adjusting the other.

I wish it worked like an EVF (electronic viewfinder) on a mirror less camera. It would be better if; When adjusting the exposure compensation to -1, the live camera view also darkens to -1 to visually represent the exposure.
Almost perfect!
An excellent app in every respect - fun to use and with excellent accuracy and setting options - except that the ‘ISO setting’ control, presently accessible on the front of the hand meter by simply swiping your finger up or down the screen - is too easy to accidentally change without realising it. It would be better to have the ISO setting control more deeply buried in the Pro screen or in Settings. This app will be used by film photographers, and film photographers don’t change their film’s ISO very often, and certainly never in mid-roll. Think back to a real old fashioned light meter and how relatively difficult it used to be to change the ASA/ISO setting; this app should be the same! Otherwise 5 Stars!

Where’s 1/200? Where’s 1/25
Sorry - I can’t seem to find a support page or contact, so leaving my question here. I bought the Pro version to use with an Agfa Isolette, and I’m trying to set up a lens preset. The Isolette has the Agfa Agnar 1:4,5/85 with the shutter speeds being 1/200, 1/50, 1/25 or Bulb. The Aperture goes from f/32 to f/4.5. Setting the limits in presets I can set f/32 for the aperture, but can only set 1/250 for the shutter speed. Classic Mode - which is what I’d prefer to use, doesn’t have 200 - it goes from 125 to 250, so I have to guess in the middle somewhere, nor does it show f/4.5 - I have to guess in the middle of 5.6 and 4. Having to guess so much kind of defeats the purpose of using a light meter. So, perhaps you can tell me the best presets for my camera?

I have an iphone8. Crashes all the time. Worse, when it is working (which is rare) every time I pull it out if my pocket, I can’t help touching the screen and every time the ISO shifts from my last setting. Why is there no ISO lock?
Love it but latest version crashes ever time I use it
I tried to contact you via your support page rather than use a review to report this but it looks like your me.com account is no longer valid and I could not find any other contact info. The latest version of the app (I am using iPhone XS) crashes every time it goes to the background (including when the lock screen is used) causing me to have to reopen the app and choose my settings every time I want to take a picture which is time consuming and error prone. I use classic mode exclusively but the app always reopens in pro mode on me and sometime rests the iso value. Otherwise I really enjoy the app and hope this crash can be resolved quickly so I do not need to find a new light meter app. Thanks.

I press The average button, then i take more than one light reading which should give The average between the previous readings and The last one every time i press hold and read the light....but it simply doesn't work :( Did anybody find out? A part of that works good
