Enhances Best Street Photography Cameras
Ricoh has done a nice job of fixing the bugs in earlier versions of the app. The app easily connects using both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. GR World adds useful functions to the best street photography pocket cameras. GPS tagging of photos is a nice feature. Syncing the camera with the iPhone date and time provides a huge help for photographers on the move globally, that is crossing time zones and the international dateline. Copying photos to the iPhone works fine, but have not done this much. The app appears to be very stable. Thanks.

Can’t transfer the photos
位置情報を執拗に求めてくるな
1mmも理解できないのだけど、どうして開発側が位置情報の記録を必要にすることを決めているのか。 写真に位置情報を記録するかどうかはユーザーが決めるべき項目でアプリ提供側が決めることでは無い。 さらに気持ち悪いのが、アプリのバックグランドでも位置情報を取り続けているのが心底気に入らない。撮影取り込み時やリモートシャッターもどちらもアプリ使用時なら理解できるが、バックグラウンド状態で位置情報取得はプライバシーの侵害か悪意しかない。 あと本体Wi-fiのOn/offがアプリで出来て、本体側で設定出来ないのはシンプルに欠陥では？FWで対応して下さい。
Required data harvesting?
App requires location and FULL photo library access, surely there should be an opt-out version of the app that doesn’t require full library access? “Add Photos Only” or limited library access should be enough to use the app, I don’t want to give access to random photos of my kids or friends to this app.
いいですが、改善点あり。
1.リモート撮影時のライブビューを希望します。 また、イメージコントロールなどの設定なども遠隔でいじれたら神です。 3.GRギャラリーがほぼ息してません。他の人が取り込んだ画像を本人許可した場合に見れる機能があれば設定やイメージコントロールの参考になりますし、GRユーザーのSNSのように盛り上がるかもしれませんね。
2.1 is Great
All the other reviews might be dated, but 2.1 version I have been using is fast. Faster than the Leica Foto app and is extremely easy to use.
Location mandatory
Was a good app but now it doesn’t work at all without permission for location data.
Gute Neuauflage mit Verbesserungspotential
Die App gefällt mir für die GR deutlich besser als Image Sync, da insbesondere die Übertragung der GPS Daten deutlich besser funktioniert und die Bildübertragung von der GR auf das iPhone gefühlt schneller geworden ist. Verbesserungspotential sehe ich noch bei der Fernsteuerung der Kamera über die App. Dort fehlt insbesondere die Möglichkeit das iPhone als externen Bildschirm zu nutzen.
Pollutes the live activity on the Dynamic Island
Would be really nice to be able to use the location tracking feature without it showing up as a live activity. Other apps do this successfully
Better than Image Sync but missing a lot
It looks a lot nicer than the old app and feels better to use (quicker / snappier). Using the GR World app for transferring pictures works pretty well, but the remote shooting mode is pretty lackluster. I would love to be able to (1) see on my iPhone what the camera is seeing and (2) be able to adjust camera settings using the app; at minimum ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed and Exposure compensation. Focusing on functional improvements like this take this to a five star app for me. While I appreciate Ricoh’s continued focus on the communal aspect of the GR (introducing the gallery feature), I think I would like to see improvements that focus on functionality and usability first and foremost.
抬腕唤醒以及固件更新问题
1.我的机器是gr4 monochrome，目前没在任何地方找到有关抬腕唤醒的说明，但是我自己使用过程中发现，只要链接gr world才会开启这个功能，并且也没有开关控制关闭。2.我在官网上看见支持通过gr world更新固件但是我已经下载了最新版本的也没有这个功能，系统是ios26.4。希望开发者可以回复一下我这两个问题。
Privacy violations
This app will refuse to transfer any photos unless you give it full photo library access. I mean the entire library even the pictures have nothing to do with your GR camera. I’m an app developer so I know this app does not need the permission to transfer pictures. So they are either 1)extremely incompetent making an app for a camera that’s over $1500 or 2) be there stealing your data. I don’t see any other reason for this.
审美很棒，但能不能增加RAW编辑功能
相机内置RAW编辑并且还能更换滤镜的体验真的很棒！但是打开app图片库却无法快速编辑RAW文件，有点失望…如果加上这个功能就是完美的了！还有一个致命问题就是在App中浏览照片，画面会很模糊，看不清楚。

2026.06.15日現在GR4での転送時RAW撮影データが途中で途切れる通信が途切れて失敗する。再インストールしたが改善しないので修正して下さい。
It’s Ok, but Buggy
I like that there is an app for GR cameras. This one seems to get the job done…generally. It is also buggy. I constantly get notifications from it about getting/using my location even when I haven’t used the app in days and the location feature is (or should be) disabled. I also noticed that some of my shots while using the location sharing feature apparently didn’t get tagged with GPS. Maybe a camera firmware could fix that. I don’t know. Anyway, there’s a lot of room for improvement here.
Overall good!
Mainly use it to geo tag my images on my GR IV monochrome. Works flawlessly for that. Overall works great for what it is.

I can’t change the language to English it force me to watch in Chinese lmao 🙄
Basic functionality
App works okay for basic transfers, one tip I found was to switch to 5 Ghz frequency for faster transfers. I encounter two issues: 1) every time i click import images from the app and use that to turn on the camera, it will fail the first time, and work the second time you click it. This bug slows the process down. 2) You can only import in original size files, or XS. I wish I could import a S/M sized JPG, something in between, since the 1.5MP XS files are noticeably grainy even on a small phone screen.

imagesyncにあった機能が使えなくて不便なので是非追加して欲しい機能です。
What about updating the firmware
I can download my photos to my phone now and take photos remotely. When are we going to be able to update the firmware on the camera from the app. It is not good in 2025 to have to download the update from a computer to the micro sd card and then the phone. I can update my Nikon camera from the app!

I legit don’t understand how camera apps are this bad. I’ve had success about 5% of the time transferring photos. Honestly just don’t make an app if it’s this bad. Just makes me hate this company

App update not working
Just updated the last version of the app and my camera is now not connecting with the app. Please help
取り込みが便利だが転送速度が遅い
転送速度がやや遅いです。 wifi設定を2.4Gから5Gに変更するとやや早くなりますが、もう少し速度が上がってくれると嬉しいです。 たまに転送中に接続が切れてしまいますが、それ以外は特に問題なく使用できていると思います。

So bad that you should consider another camera
The app is so horrible at the very basic functionality like pairing, re-connecting, and remembering which camera it is paired to. In fact, the app is so poorly made that I’m going to return my camera. I’ve used cameras from almost all major brands, and the Ricoh app is the most horrendous one by a wide margin
Great app! Except one small thing
Overall the app is very modern and I enjoyed the user interface and all the functionalities worked! It’d nice to be able to sync photos when my phone is locked or the app is in the background like insta360. But overall I liked the app! Good job!
lens error on connect
I just got my brand new GR IV today and every time I try to import photos with the app, my camera just shuts down with “lens error” 🤦🏻 How do I fix this?

GRivです。カメラのペアリングは出来ているのに、画像の取り込みが出来なくなりました。無線LANの接続が出来なかったです。結局、広告ブロックアプリのせいだと分かりそれをオフにしたらできました！アプリをオンにしていても出来るようになって欲しいです...。

Interesting camera but this app needs a total makeover
vpn接続していると連携できません。
iPhoneですが、エラーばかりでwifi接続ができませんでした。 インストールているセキュリティソフトが自動でvpn接続するようになっており、それを外したら接続できました。アプリ自体は以前のimage syncよりも使い易いです。

Why does this app need access to all photos? Limited access should be sufficient.

Unstable & Buggy
I usually don’t leave reviews, but the experience with this app has been so bad I had to leave it. You can sometimes do basic things like transferring photos really slowly, but trying to do things like firmware update is impossible. Should really fire the whole development for this app and start over.

Slightly underwhelming
Overall the app works fine and connection feels very stable. However, one very useful function that is missing from Image Share is Live View. This was extremely useful while shooting at difficult angles especially when GR doesn’t have articulated screen. Please Ricoh, bring this function back.

Garbage app
Annoying issue
If you edit a photo using the raw developer, it’s appear in the app on the date you took the picture, not as a recent photo. This means you have to search through your albums to find the photo, it’s what Fuji does and makes no sense. Deleted the app and gone to the old one.
No remote preview
When using remote shooting, there is no preview of the camera. Can’t select a focal point. Can only trigger the shutter or at the shutter to delay. The “Image Sync” is way more functional.
