Virtual racing
Very sick virtual racing app. The closer the other bikers get the more you have to keep up the pace.
Useless with AppleTV
Wanted to love it. I have a Zwift Ride which works flawlessly with Zwift. Rouvy is completely flaky about finding the bike’s sensors. It’s amazingly bad. I have tried everything - ensuring Zwift isn’t running at all, power cycling the bike and TV, being hyper careful about the order I do things, etc. No luck. It sees the bike about 1/10 of the time. When it works, it’s nice to explore the virtual world. But it works so seldom it is useless. Suspending my subscriptioin.

Recently every workout crashes the app - very frustrating when you’re in the middle of intervals
Victim of its own success
Of late the app has crashed mid ride, I used to think this was down to a shortcoming with my internet, but I had it checked out and it’s fine. On the Tuesday and Thursday group rides, a number of riders have complained about the app crashing right at the beginning of the ride. More common is for the app to start spooling and as a result you are pushed to the back of the group. This is hugely frustrating. Worst of all is when you are at the end of ride and the sprint is on which starts with about a mile to go you get the dreaded spooling sign. The fact that so many on the group rides get this is alarming. Please Rouvy get it sorted. Thanks
The premium cycling indoor experience
ROUVY makes Zwift look like a Saturday morning cartoon. If you want to travel the world and do all the best rides, this is the place to do it!
Such a POS
Somebody needs to fire these developers. This app has been trash ever since it started. I still have no idea how anybody pays this company money. Complete inconsistencies across Mobile, Apple TV, app crashes, virtual remotes are useless, none of the main features work. Avoid this technology like the plague
Great for winter riding
Absolutely love Rouvy paired with my Wahoo smart trainer. Video and courses are amazing, the stats and shadow riders really motivate me. Having Rouvey and a companion app is a bit convoluted. And haven’t figured out how to always have a cooldown ride even with it selected pre ride. The interface still needs some work, but well worth the money!
Pace partners bad now
Change the pace partners back to the way they were. The two options are both bad now.
Not saving ride
Used ROUVY for over a year and never had a problem until lately when ROUVY has stopped recording the time ridden and I’m getting a message saying there was a problem, and the ride I did tonight I beat my pb app told me I’d beat it then when I go to analyse ride I get the previous time with the there was a problem message, not happy because I’m not gaining any xp so will be cancelling when I’m due for renewal
74 yr old grandma
Although I’m not as fast as I used to be I am thoroughly enjoying riding all over the world. I still have that competitive gene and enjoy an occasional challenge. Thank you for keeping me healthy. Love the beautiful scenery.
Sound is broken
Or just doesn’t exist? I could see no options to adjust ambient sound. What’s the point if a video of you have to experience it as a dead person. At least they could add ambient tracks and positional audio for vehicles/bikes passing by.
Great rides and workouts
I love that I can do virtual rides during the cold winter months in the Midwest. I love the workout rides as well. Love the fact that I can choose shorter or longer rides. Great app so far.
Crashes frequently
I love the app and when it works, it’s a nice way to train. Lots of options from workouts to rides through some amazing countryside I’d never do in my normal life. However, I’m running the app through my AppleTV 4k with a fast Ethernet connection and the app frequently crashes during rides. Rouvy needs to fix this as it appears to be an app problem and not a hardware/network issue.
Preferred app but CRASHES frequently
ROUVY is very much my preferred indoor program, except that it crashes frequently and sometimes when well into a ride or workout, which is very frustrating. If/when the problem is ever fixed, I’ll bump my score up to 5 stars.

Crashes EVERY Time
Updating my review from February 2026. I am using an iPad 5th Gen for my Indoor Cycling. Used it for years with Zwift and also for more than a year with Rouvy without problems. But since earlier this year the App crashes every time we use it. I had high hopes when there was a new version, but there is no improvement. Last week it crashed 3 times in my 1 hour ride. Sometimes it crashes even before starting pedaling. We are paying $30 for two accounts and it is super annoying. I should get my money back or a credit. Otherwise I am going to switch to another solution. Previously I was a very happy user, now very annoyed.
Great service. Almost a great mobile app
I’ve been using Rouvy mobile as my primary app to cycle routes. Love the service and a lot of the functions available through the app. BUT there is still far too many parts of the service not available on the app and get linked to browsers. Would be a 5/5 if all functionality available on other platforms is also available on mobile.
Glitchy
If by some chance you come across someone else’s avatar, the system starts to glitch out, freezes, unfreezes, freezes, unfreezes, with a spinning circle in the middle of the screen
Mandatory updates
PLEASE CHANGE THE APP TO REMIND PEOPLE TO DO THE MANDATORY UPDATES WHEN FINISHING A RIDE RATHER THAN WHEN STARTING UP THE APP. THAT WAY YOU AVOID THE FRUSTRATION OF SITTING AND WAITING FOR 15 MINUTES FOR AN UPDATE WHEN YOU WERE ALL READY AND MOTIVATED TO RIDE.
Outstanding
Living in the flat, snowy Midwest, Rouvy is a fantastic way to train in the winters. Their workout plans have helped me make significant fitness gains and the incredible routes are much more engaging than cruising through a video game. It would be great if they were able to come up with a reliable Zwift Click setup for virtual shifting (or better yet, come out with their own hardware!) but their on-screen shifting works well enough and the other perks of the platform far outweigh this issue for me. I ride several times a week and it has really helped me keep the winter blues at bay. When the outdoor season returns, I plan to continue to supplement my outdoor rides with Rouvy to get in some climbing work and keep my training structured.

Rouvy in 2026
Rouvy has really matured. I would highly recommend this exceptional alternative to the competition. My only complaint is not having a in-app spindown.

Setting up an account seems like an endless loop… Download app. Confirm email Sends me somewhere Nothing to do—/ Finally got to a password screen— Cannot confirm No app should be this difficult. Tried to login using Apple ID thru the little Apple icon- Said not supported. Deleted app
Great graphics but glitchy software
Love the graphics, route options and workouts. Integrates well with wahoo trainer BUT frequent software glitches where power output under ERG suddenly increases outwith the boundaries of the workout and have to exit workout to correct. Very annoying.

This company is a scam! They tried to charge me for 2 full years when I did NOT consent for that.
Great App, but not sure why it is not scalable on external display.
Rouvy is an awesome app for one. I run it on my Apple TV and it fully supports my FHD TV with no letter boxing. But, my Apple TV is old and does not have enough storage to download routes. I did not think that this would be an issue, I could just use the app on my M5 iPad Pro since I have full support for external displays. But for some reason the ROUVY app cannot run a 1080P video on an external display without letter boxing on the sides to match the shape of an iPad screen. Is this something that the developers of ROUVY have any intention of fixing?
Sensor disconnects
Since recent update on Apple TV I have to disconnect my Wahoo Kickr and reconnect as a new device before every ride. Even doing that it frequently loses connection and the wattage is wildly inaccurate. To add insult to injury they've increased the price by 30% from last year!
You become a free advertising feed for Rouvy
When auto-uploading your Rouvy activity to Strava, Rouvy thinks it’s okay to automatically include advertising content in your Strava activity description. This probably tells you all you need to know about how Rouvy thinks about its customers.

BUYER BEWARE- Rouvy will immediately suspend your subscription and cheat you out of remaining time.
Suspended my subscription because I was going to be traveling for a month. Had 3-weeks left on my paid monthly subscription. I suspended my account a few days before I left for my trip, and Rouvy immediately suspended my account and cheated me out of 3 weeks of pre-paid service. My expectation is that if I pre-pay for a monthly service, Rouvy honors my payment until the end of the billing term. Really sleazy business practice. Full stop. I should not have to waste both my time and Rouvy's customer service time trying to receive services I pre-paid for. I was loyal long term customer on monthly subscription.
Real world views
I did my first workout on Rouvy and found it very good. One of the things I was interested in seeing was whether it would drain my iPad battery but after one hour and 17 minutes it only used about 15%. Very impressive. The interface works really well and the fact that you can increase the size of the font is great. The only complaint after the first ride is I don’t think I need all the real world views that is, I would be happy if they could eliminate the cars. A bit unnerving. I know how dangerous it is out there and having cars narrowly passing you by and sometimes even passing so close that you’re ghosted is not pleasant.
Losing it’s way
Over the last couple of years Rouvy has seemed to have moved towards a more Digital experience which undermines some of the original benefits of Rouvy.
Virtual shifting with Zwift broken on recent update
Had enjoyed using my Zwift click for virtual shifting on my Tacx, but it’s now broken with the recent update.
Best app ever.
I’ve been riding Rouvy about 6 years, it helps me greatly specially now in my 70s, you guys are awesome people thanks for the great work.
Difficult to cancel
You can’t even cancel on the app and they charge you even if you do cancel or try to switch to monthly billing
Apple TV support
I have been using the Rouvy app for the Apple TV 4K for a few weeks now and love it, not frustrating thing is the lack of support for the Apple TV remote surely this must be a easy update to make this fully work ?
Overrated
Updates often come with bugs and I was unable to access acceptable functionality for weeks after one particular update. “sorry. We’re working on a fix asap” but no extension to subscription or refund. They are increasing prices and pushing subscribers to take out annual memberships. Creator content is now available and subscribers can create their own routes by submitting video and gps data. Sounds good but this is being done without any quality control, Rouvy increases its catalog for free but uses ‘this content’ a one of the reasons for price hikes. For specific training other apps are far more accomplished and video play back can vary greatly in quality. Graphic overlays can be glitchy and elevation metrics are often out of sync with video playback. Rouvy is owned completely by a private equity group whose customer service only addresses issues with “we are working on it”.
Good, could be great
Since Rouvy has aquired Fulgaz, this is probably the best filmed-ride, realistic cycling app. I’ve used it on and off for some years and latest version (Oct 2025) is good, and the route creator app shows real potential. Rode a route created by someone who was on a bike and it was pretty good, had that Fulgaz vibe but with the avatars which does help with engagement. A few things are quite annoying: As mentioned elsewhere, the canceling process is excruciating, and feels manipulative and slimy…hidden buttons, multiple pages to get through, etc. Second, the gradient consistency is flaky—quite often the screen will be showing a gradient and resistance doesn’t change or doesn’t sync with what is displayed. The other day in a group ride the group I was in was going up a consistent 5-6% gradient and the resistance felt like 0, while the in-game rider speed was above 20mph at 180-200 watts. That is very far from realistic, and went on for minutes at a stretch. Rouvy, like other apps, provides the ability to change the trainer realism setting which can be useful it your setup can’t handle steep gradients, or you are using road bike gearing without a granny gear, and want to use the resistance setting to give yourself more gears, so to speak. Great—power determines speed, not the resistance feel of your trainer. But Rouvy penalizes you for riding at less than 100%, flagging your trainer resistance setting in the rider list, and apparently invalidating race and timed results. It’s bizarre—no other app does this. They claim it’s because they emphasize realism, but by offering virtual gearing they offer the ability to directly alter the trainer resistance, which is completely the opposite of what they are claiming. Weird. And in-game rider speeds in general are too fast. Finally, Rouvy says they prioritize your power meter (if you have one and select that for power) over your trainer. But when doing an erg workout the app uses the trainer estimated power, so you can see your power, and the target power actually not matching if there is a difference. So there’s no point really in using a power meter for workouts. Annoying. Zwift does this way better. But overall, if you are just into riding by yourself, working out, or riding with virtual partners and not live racing, who cares really. It’s still the best option if you don’t like the simulated hypercolored world of Zwift.
my obsession
i am blown away by Rouvy. never thought i could stay this consistent, but they make it easy. it’s a game changer, life changer, post-crash recovery saver, and secret weapon for my long-distance cycling. 10/10
Crashes constantly
Worked fine Jan and Feb. Since Mar 15, only 1 ride out of 4 finished without crashing. One ride crashed 8 times, including 3 times at the very end. Another crashed 3/4 of the way through. The latest was 2 crashes with 300 meters left in a 34.5 km ride. The best is that you get no credit for the ride within the Rouvy system. Going to stick to flat routes—like a spin class. Still waiting for some reasonable response other than “sorry you’re having problems, we know it’s frustrating.”

Your app crashes too much wasting my time. I have to delete and download it again every couple of weeks. That’s garbage. When riding using the app it’s awesome.
Lovin it!
Really loving ROUVY! Application has paired seamlessly with my Apple TV, Tracx trainer and Garmin HRM. Workouts are engaging and they are as challenging as desired. Tons of great rides and developers are constantly updating the software. Thanks!
Wow
I used Rouvy back I think in 2021, when Rouvy was just getting into virtual training. Wow. Don’t know what I was expecting but certainly not this. Haven’t been on many rides but those experienced are very realistic, such as leaves swirling on the road after a car goes by. Ride summary stats are concise yet everything I need. HRM and smart trainer connected immediately and I have an old Cyclops Hammer.
App quit working on phone
It was a little difficult at first to get app to work on my IPhone pro 15. Then after a couple rides it was a challenge to sign in again. Today after about 3 days of not riding I was unable to sign in at all. Tried to see if there was a help phone number and there wasn’t. Tried resetting password and few other options finally found it too frustrating. I cancelled my subscription today. When it worked I really enjoyed it. In trying fix the problem by searching online I saw this was a common problem with Rouvy. If you can sign in then I think it is great.
Better than zwift, but not without its faults
After a couple of years of zwift Rouvy was suggested to me as a better alternative. It is, it looks better, riding real roads I’ve been on or want to go on in real life is superb. The two faults I have with it are that sometimes it glitches and freezes for a while, so if you are doing intervals or the gradient changes this can mess up your ride, and when free riding there is no indicator showing which gear you are in. Otherwise great.
Erg only. Avoid this app if you don’t like the Erg.
I’ve been trying to use this app to train for two months. Everything works fine except the workouts. If you do workout it is only Erg mode here. It is really frustrating if you use pedal power meters since the power input is fluctuating all the time. The trainer adjustment is slower which makes short intervals miserably off. Even the 4.0 update still didn’t solve this issue.
This is a great app when it works
I do like this app when it is working, there is nothing worse than entering a group ride, when you’re ready to go and then it doesn’t work for you. And on occasions it will cut out half way through, and you don’t get the whole ride. I do hope this is sorted soon.
