What people like
- Great variety of sports content
- Easy for older users to navigate
- Content quality is actually very good
What they complain about
- App crashes constantly during use
- Ads interrupt viewing experience frequently
- Chromecast casting feature does not work
- Search function is missing or broken
A pleasant surprise.
Old dog learns new tricks! Yeah, I'm a grandfather and even a great grandfather; really got into skiing around 15 years ago at age 67. Wanted to watch Mikaela Shiffrin score #100 at Killington, but broadcast TV wouldn't have run number one, only run number two in the afternoon. So did something unusual for me, tried a streaming service: Outside TV. What a pleasant surprise. It wasn't hiding behind a paywall and it worked very well. Time to poke around it and enjoy other sports.
I’m paying a premium to watch ads, C’mon
I was excited to die into some outside films so I bought the subscription only to find I’m forced to watch ads. This is incredibly dumb.
Would be a 5, but…
Where did the search feature go?!
Paid service and still ads?
Definitely cancelling after the trial if I have to watch ads for a paid service!!
No Chromecast option
I probably won’t watch any of these shows because it doesn’t support Chromecast. Too bad!
Top
Super app for watching sport games
Lame
I guess it just keeps getting more dumpster fire.. magazines go to quarterly. App is lame doesn’t sync between devices, requires constantly re login.
Outside Watch… great content, terrible player
Really enjoy the content available on the App but the movie player platform is awful. It is really hard to navigate, pause, restart.
Poor Service for the Subscription Price
Like the title says, this app is horrible for both functionality and performance. The app crashes often running on appleTV and the navigation is horrible. Why can’t i rewind during a live broadcast for example. Not worth the price, and I hope Ironman and T100 choose a different platform going forward for US and Canadian viewers.
Garbage tvOS app
Can’t even log in. I get an Internal Server Error each time. But it does work on iOS… 🙄
Blank screen
Only seeing blank screen with letter “Q”.
Joke
I pay to watch commercials. Great Joy
Horrible User Experience
Shows advertised on banner don’t even exist or are impossible to find. I.e T100 Dubai. Shows when you open app but you click on it and it takes to list of older races. None of which are T100 Dubai. Plus they are sorted in oldest first…really? Why would anyone wNt to see the oldest races first. Stupid!
No chromecast
There’s a useless icon to enable chromecast but it never connects limiting a user to only watch on phone. For the cost of a subscription they should able to make an app that actually works. The only work around is using apple connect to a apple connect device. I gave it one star because a feature should be able to do what it is intended for.
Love this app!!!
Great content
Where are the replays?
I can’t locate the downhill replay. I’m a paying subscriber. Your app is frustrating
Lacking basic features
I wanted to love this app because I enjoy a lot of the content, but it just seems like a dumping ground for videos. There is no search function anymore. There was, and then it disappeared. There is no "continue watching" so you have to go looking for what you last watched (which is especially fun with no search function). There are also no subtitles available, so if you are hard of hearing, you're out of luck. It's really too bad, if they just put a tiny bit of effort into basic functionality, it would be a fun app.
Please help
Lots of great content, but glitchy. How do I back out of the Live TV stream, for example.
Glitchy, terrible trying to cast to chromebox
I’ve been trying to watch the Copper Cup replays by casting from my iPhone to my chromebox and there is no way to control the replay playing options (pause, fast forward, rewind). It also is constantly kicking me off the cast and I have to restart the video from the beginning, again with no options for fast forwarding back to where I was at. Watching on my phone is fine, but I want to watch on a bigger screen! If you offer the option to watch on a bigger screen, make it at least functional!
Does not cast to Chromecast for Live TV
Does not cast to Chromecasy
Worst App I’ve ever downloaded
App does not load. I have the fastest internet connection available and I just get the spinning wheel while the app is trying to load. Do not waste your time with this app and definitely do NOT pay the $89 for Outside +! Extremely disappointing. I would give it a zero star rating if that was an option.
Outside plus
Search function didn’t allow me to find palisade Tahoe alpine ski races.
FIS please use a different streaming platform!
I keep hoping Outside will get better, but am continuously disappointed. They have no right to be the US streaming partner for FIS World Cup ski races. Coverage is sub par at best, commercials cut out multiple racers, announcers can’t even say most of the skiers names. Not to mention ton how awful the app is to navigate. Absolutely awful design and no improvement from year to year. They have some of the best content, but good luck finding it.
Oof
I don’t think I can take listening to the Defender commercials again. Nothing like listening to someone talk about vibes driving $120k car with a bunch of people and they’re $120k car
Terrible
App is trash, crashes every 5 seconds, throws bugs and error messages when you try and create an account. This app didn’t need to exist and shouldn’t
Ironman 70.3
While the content of the “commercials” is great — this app keeps crashing after each commercial break. I have to close, and reopen after each one to restart the livestream. It’s also glitchy while trying to cast it to the tv. This girl just wants to watch some triathlon!!!
This app needs to do better
This has to be one of the worst apps for streaming that I’ve used. You can’t rewind anything that is being stream live, which is such a common thing now it’s ridiculous It’s not here. And every time I try to watch the Ironman world championships the app just crashes. I expect more from the app and from Ironman.
Lake Tahoe television
Where is it? It’s no longer on this app.
