Great
No problems with both bikes 🙂
It takes effort to be this bad
I want to love SRAM. But every experience I have is terrible. Just bought a new Specialized Epic 8 Pro with the Flight Attendant suspension. The power kept dropping during rides so the suspension was doing the opposite of what I needed. Locked when I was hitting bumps and open when I would stand and pedal. Then, the pin on the front fork module broke and then nothing worked. The design is terrible. It’s a good thing they have a good warranty because they need it. Replaced the power meter and fork module. Reconnecting everything was a nightmare because the app kept hanging up. Just spinning and would force me to start over. Close app, delete all components, delete bike, redownload firmware etc. with no guide or explanation if it was failing. Oh, and the brakes suck. SRAM brakes always suck. They have low stopping power and always rub or squeak. And yes, I know what I’m doing as a bike mechanic. Sorry SRAM, I tried to love you.
Almost Perfect… One Fatal Necessity Missing
As a professional technician, being able to utilize so many set up tools and diagnostic tools during services is beyond helpful. The app is interactive, after some training, to its full extent, and everything can be simply found on the external links leading to SRAMs website for further info. My Bluetooth doesn’t save deraillers and such getting paired. But SRAM. PLEASE. I know y’all hear this often: PLEASE MAKE AN “UPDATE ALL” button for everything paired to one system or one bike. It would save loads of time and energy. I know yall are capable. Be the 10/10 I know yall can be 💪🏼
Bricked my bike
Finally got around to updating my Force components through the app after shifting became glitchy on rides. After all components were updated they stopped communicating, refuse to pair with each other, and are no longer accessible through the app.
Update required…
You said you fixed the update bug and it did for a while then it came back on race day and refused to let me use it and kept repeating update 2.54.9 so I was stuck in climbing gear for my whole race.
Cool App
Have had AXS components a couple years and really just started using this app. Some great improvements since I first tried it and it appears SRAM is making things more user friendly. Pretty happy with the feedback I get from the app about the bike components!
Glitchy app, software and updates
Seriously considering returning to mechanical
Good buuuuuuut
I do like how quick it is to adjust gears it sure would be nice to micro adjust each gear individually. I was under the impression thats what I could do. Nope, one micro adjust for the whole range. Hopefully a software upgrade will allow that at aome point. Then this app would be a five out of five.
Poorly Made App
I don’t know why SRAM hasn’t invested in making a decent app. Connectivity is poor, in-accurate data, and limited usability. I expected better for an App associated with expensive components,
Flight control data metrics???
Iv tried multiple times to get ride data but still am not able to get any results . I believe it’s not letting the lockout to work during sprinting! I have to use manual mode..
It Just Works
I have to say this app works perfectly for me. I did my first ride of the season yesterday (XO1 AXS). Got down the bike, popped in the rear derailleur battery, opened the app and boom! Connected to the derailleur and shifter just fine. All my tweaked settings applied themselves - no sweat.
Not good
I have several Sram Axs bikes, sometimes the app works, then it doesn’t. The newer the groupset the better, my 3 year old bike is a complete pain to get to connect and even with my newest bike cannot be set up for the compensating shifting. Troubleshooting is very time consuming. Not impressed.
New app reset my gear setup
Loaded the app right before a century ride to check battery status. The updated app needed a log on and then without realizing it reset my settings, on how the gears shift as well as the trim. I normally have sequential shifting but today I spent 5 hours wondering what was wrong with my gears, missed shifts, noise, large ring would not automatically shift. This must be a bug…
What is it rated 2.4?
My AXS system was working well….until I tried to link it to the app. Now it won’t shift, the Reverb dropper post won’t budge, and shocks don’t adjust. It seems the power meter might be working.
Unzuverlässig
Die Anzeige der Batterieladung ist nicht korrekt für die Schalter. Obwohl beide voll angezeigt wurden war nach langer Fehlersuche bei einem einfach nur die Batterie leer.
App freezes up
Was able to set up new equipment with app and update firmware. There is an issue updating bike info and photos. The app freezes once photo is selected.
App won’t pair with components
The app doesn’t pair with my AXS components. Shake the bike? That does nothing. The video gives different instructions that also don’t work. Totally confusing.
Mostly good
Aside from some connectivity issues here and there, the app works as advertised. Please for the love of everything good, allow user to press-and-hold and reorder bikes. My oldest bike is always first and I have to scroll a lot to get to my new bike—VERY annoying. Thank you very much
2 bikes 1 app, confusion
Today my left shift lever went intermittent. I opened the app and my bike didn’t respond, and strangely showed a front derailure, which my bike never had. Upon further investigation, the app seems to have swapped bike names between my bike and my wife’s bike, which has a front derailure.
Naja
No issues
Works fine
SRAM lives up to the Polish definition of the word
Went to go on a group ride today, got the bike out, went to start pedaling and it won’t shift anymore. I open the app, the derailleur shows up and says battery is “good” but every time I click on it, it says “Bluetooth connection lost”. Cool, thanks for ruining a ride. I get to sit on the curb and troubleshoot while all my friends are mountain biking. There is a special place for whatever engineer decided a simple steel cable needed to be replaced by a battery+servo+bluetooth+phone+app+login credentials
Nice app, could use some improved features
I love my electronic shifting and the app is a cool feature but I feel like the app would really improve by adding just a few simple systems into the app. I think there needs to be an option to microadjust each different gear instead of all gears at once so that it is possible to make shifting basically silent. This wouldn’t be a hard thing to do because the app can already detect which gear it is in. I also really think that each system needs to show the percent of the battery level instead of just a light. Showing that the battery is “good” doesn’t really help me to know how soon I need to charge it because it makes it look like it’s on full battery but really it could be at like 50%, and from my experience the battery is low/yellow for only a short time which is when I would want to charge it. I think simply adding a battery percent would make a huge difference especially since the derailleur already shows the light color when I shift so right now there isn’t really a point to checking the battery on this app.
Barely used it and already frustrated
Trying to login and have struggled getting the password to successfully be set. I have to keep resetting it. I’m trying to understand how Bicycle components could need an update. Like what could possibly change that my one guy needs some sort of update to shift differently. I viewed a video to help me understand this whole thing better and noticed the comments were turned off. Clearly they were negative or they wouldn’t have been shut off. Maybe I should just stop now and not go any further.
Buttons won’t change
I went into configure the buttons, and it won’t let me change the buttons from upshift to downshift and downshift upshift unless there’s some different way it’s very not intuitive. I did message support about the issue I had and got a quick response. Hopefully they will fix it
Flight attendant fuss free
After reading some reviews about the app I was somewhat worried. My experience relates to an XO T type system with flight attendant. I struggled initially to calibrate the flight attendant system with the power meter. I then installed the app and updated the firmware where available, once updated I was able to calibrate the system easily. I’m assuming the power meter was newer than the suspension system which then recognised it and all was good. So far for me it’s been relatively straightforward and the app has worked without issue. I’d go as far as saying I’m enjoying the experience. NOT APP RELATED (AXS BATTERIES) I did have issues with all 4 new AXS batteries indicating a fault and not charging. Repeatedly installing & removing the batteries out of the charger seemed to wake them from a standby/shipping state. YouTube came to the rescue for that, maybe SRAM need that on their site?
unreliable
wish i could give zero stars
Temperamental
Can be tedious to get it to connect to components. I have never been able to update the firmware on my FD. No problem with other components. It just keeps asking to press the AXS button on the FD but never works, can see the battery level though. I’ve tried reconnecting everything from fresh.
Enhanced Screen disappeared
The enhanced screen is gone in the latest update. Please correct
Needs a sleep function
App is fine I guess. UI is pretty bad but the main thing is that it would be nice to have a sleep function. Like if my bike is on my rack I should be able to connect, put bike in a mode where it’s “off” to prevent battery drain, and then wake it back up later. Just one less thing to do than pull a battery out to prevent drain.
App version updates
I am happy to update the app to the latest version, so that I keep up to date with firmware. But I find it very frustrating that the app can remember my added bike but is unable to remember my drivetrain settings. Why can the app updates not remember my cassette is 10-36 and I want sequential gear change.
Ant+ functionality removed
It’s a shame you had this feature that a lot of people loved but decided to remove it and without even acknowledging it
I like the app and the functionality it offers
However, some recent updates seem to log me out of the app which becomes frustrating. In the main it works well.
Battery percent or hours?
The onboarding for this app and my new X0 system is laughably poor. Thankfully I’m in the tech industry so I managed to limp along and get things set up. But there is zero info on battery in the app. It just reads “good” — ok, so does that mean I’m good to go on a 5 hour ride or will I get stuck in one gear half-way through? I figured the company might be based in Japan (or China) given how poorly written and just how little technical info is given — SO un-user friendly (serious, SRAM, your app developers need to connect with your UX team and copy writer here) - but nope, based in Chicago. Do better, SRAM.
Only one AXS system when there are two ultimate pods on my new bike. Be
Tried support solution and that is no help. Poor design. Sorry about that.
Works!
App works great for me and my new 2022 Specialized SL7 Pro Tarmac. I was effortlessly able to connect/configure all components and upgrade their firmware. Very happy with both hardware and software.
App does not work
Poor app. Gets stuck telling you to add a new bike
Tyre Wiz
I only have the Tyre Wiz tire pressure monitoring device. Came with my Zipp 3Zero Moto wheels. Love the wheels and find the Wiz useful in that checking tire pressure is so easy and accurate. But…I would really like to be able to check the tpms on my Apple Watch. Can SRAM develop a Watch app please?
Not great, super limited
Basically offers 2 features: check battery level and micro adjustments. Very disappointing all valuable features take you to a website (eg ride details such number of shifts, time spent per gear, etc.). If yall aren’t planning to implement these please expose a public API so I can make my own iOS app 😎
Won’t allow micro adjustment with iPhone 14
After pairing it and going into drive chain adjustment, it shows which gear I’m currently in but there’s no left and right arrows so there’s no way to adjust the gears
Etap 5 star when it works
Loved the Etap at first. Now I can’t get sequential to work, tried disconnecting, charging batteries. Maybe it was a few grand novelty! SRAM if you read this can you sort the app problem? I’m a long distance rider so sequential is ideal as I do t require quick shifts, when it works. Edit- After SRAM contacted me and told me to pair it again(you tube video), It worked. Back to loving it.
This app sucks
Always problems with this app
Doesn’t show battery %
I just wish they would do an update to show actual battery %
Buggy since update
Went to check battery status for my shifter, unable to login to the app with it declaring Password/username invalid. Tried removing and readding app - no luck. Have opted to monitor battery status manually by frequent charges
Enhanced mode toggles off on its own
Why does the enhanced mode toggle off on its own when not in use for a few hours. It’s a pain in the rear. This bug needs to be fixed.
Works a charm
Easy to use app. Follow the instructions as it’s important to wake up your component for app to connect. Suggest improvement is to allow micro adjustments via app. With all things AXS incl the axs app, good quality.
This app sucks
The dark screen is almost impossible to read in sunlight. Not user friendly at all.
No issues so far
I set up / paired by SRAM components manually, starting with the derailleur and working across others. I found a few good videos online and did this first after unboxing new bike. Its super easy pressing the small buttons on each component. I then used this app out on the road to adjust settings and it’s been no problem. I would recommend these steps to see if it solves a lot of the negative reviews I’ve seen here. Love the option of tailoring your gears via a dedicated app in your pocket. Being an early adopter can sometimes mean a few bugs to endure, but the upside is having functionality like this which will become the norm in a few years.
No battery percentage.
Of all the things that the actual group set offers, the app experience lets it down. Would it be that hard to add a battery percentage icon once you’re connected? The green & red indicator gives no indication of how much battery is available. If we had a percentage scale it would add to to the user experience.
Clunky.
AXS is, by far, the most expensive group set I’ve bought. Ok, there’s a lot going on, but the app, components (and in particular the pairing process) are terrible. The connectivity between components seems flaky, but that may just be the fact that the app interface is overly simple and doesn’t tell you anything. It constantly asks you to reconnect and then just sits there with a spinning loading image. Highly frustrating. Considering a full return of the whole set.
