great way to never get lost
i rarely go riding without turning this on. it is easy to use, easy to follow and keeps me from that sinking feeling of being lost.
Planing routs
Consistently when I try to navigate to a route from my house, it often leads me to a spot that I cannot pass on a gravel bike, and it is generally not very good
My dog loves this App
Kia loves to run, so I had to figure out how to take him for a workout that I could maintain his youth and pedigree. My gravel bike-to harness him to my seat post so I can control him (+ a leash/collar). He’s doing well after a few weeks and won’t let me not take him out. Ride with GPS has been with me many years. I don’t even Remember Strava??? What’s that, Ride with GPS is awesome!
Great routes, terrible UI/UX
I really trust this app to give me routes on proper bike lanes. That said it’s really hard to use. It takes a billion clicks just to get to navigating a route. It’s not even clear to me how to start a new route. I kept getting stuck in a loop with routes I’d taken previously. Also, it asks you to save the ride everytime you end a ride. The form is clunky and just gets in the way. Not intuitive. I like the alerts. But there’s no way I could justify paying for the app considering how difficult it was just to plan a route. It’s a bummer because the routes themselves are spot on.
Battery eater
Indispensable for planning, but it’s really hard to convince it to turn off, and it DEVOURS battery power with unmatched voracity, even when running in the background. Even when one has tried to turn it off. It it really persistent about eating battery life. Ran through a weekend’s worth of battery power in half a day; the rest of my trip consisted of airplane mode with GPS turned off, and cautiously opening the app to check location/route.
Life Saving Partner
This application has saved me from getting lost even when I only us it for a reference when I'm lost. Great app for group rides with 29-30 turns.
Free trial pushed me to yearly sub
I needed this app for a couple week bicycle tour. It looked the trial would go into a monthly subscription but instead I am charged $60 as soon as the 7 days ended.
A request
PLEASE allow trip editing on a portable device, like a phone or a tablet. I don’t own any windows anything and nothing else seems to work. Otherwise, RWGPS is AWESOME and a constant companion!
Hidden fees.
Free use for one week only then automatic fee charged. Not good.
Clunky
The app is not consistent for routing, nor function. The app is not intuitive and requires more learning than it should.

This App Sucks
Audio turns late cost up front even with free trial, doesn’t sync with garmin GPS s wonky. Not worth it
Strava for Smart Humans
Many APPs begin their lives as equal parts Excitement and Experimentation. Ride with GPS have evolved a brilliant platform for normal humans who may be tired of hearing “if it didn’t happen on Strava…” which is rather stupid. Anyway, if you enjoy accurate mapping, brilliant simplicity, and Cogent yet complete lack of Competitive Fake-Book style one-up-man-ship… Then RWGPS is your APP. If you prefer to follow another faker, on your way to false results and Motorized superlatives, then this is NOT your APP. Enjoying this for many years.

Frustrated that my ride was not recorded. Why? Because I pressed the “record “ button, rode, cane home and saw the “Start Ride “ button. Why two buttons for the same function? ANNOYING.

Love it!
Uses phone’s battery constantly and cannot be turned off
I was frustrated that the app constantly tracked my ride even when I didn’t want it to. This drained my phone’s battery unnecessarily. I wanted to use it on a week long camping bike ride, but I have to be careful about preserving my phone’s battery as I never know when I can next charge it. I had to delete the app to be sure it wasn’t constantly running in the background. Otherwise, it seems to have great features, but this issue was a hard pass for me.

This app is good. I hope that this stops it askinge for a review. B/c that is interfering w use.
Poor performance
Video constantly froze with multiple app issues. Wasted $$$ on an expensive annual agreement!

It was great to hear the navigation and a huge help with so many turns. Suggestions to give left hand turns a bit earlier

Route planner just doesn’t work!
Very hard on my battery.
It seems like the app works great but it will drain the battery very fast. After 4 hours you need an external battery pack. I tried the download application without it the wifi or roaming on but still it drains the battery very fast.

With Wahoo Roam 3 head unit, there is no way of viewing routes on mobile. Because routes need to be archived to not appear on head unit. And when archived we cannot see routes on mobile and not even in collections. App is very good, but this design flaw is very poor.

RWGPS is the BEST bike route app I have used (compared to 4 others) but it still has flaws and problematic bugs. Design flaws * the desktop and iPhone / iPad apps are separate * The libraries’ collections aren’t shared between devices (I can’t find edits made on my phone on my iPad) Bugs * The route planning tool is very buggy. Frequently I can’t exit the POI editing mode. It also appears to be impossible to edit POIs. * Some routes created by other users and saved to my library can’t be deleted or edited. * The reverse rout option creates a very low resolution straight line track which is essentially useless. You can work around this by just riding the route ‘backwards’ if you are using a Coros Dura for navigation. * RWGPS really burns through battery power on my iPhone. * Route planning on the iPad Mini 6 is incredibly frustrating, buttons are off screen, some text fields won’t allow cursoring back to edit text, and some dialog boxes can’t be cancelled. Despite this, I still love RWGPS. It has wide coverage of where I like to ride, there are lots of public routes (which may or may not be fully rideable 😜), and it works superbly with my Coros Dura. Please keep up with the development of it.
Great app
Great App! Accurate with my Apple step counter. Wish they would show nearby traffic, almost killed by a white jeep at the north round about A guy in another white suv with bicycles on the back was in the south bound lane and waited before entering the roundabout, thank you for waiting and yielding, unlike the other Driver. I did manage to give them the finger. I will be bicycling with my drones above me. From here on out .
Terrible AP
This AP is very difficult to use. It is not straightforward. I have tried about 10x to make it work. No luck. I took a wrong turn on a group ride and almost got lost. The AP also hounds you constantly to pay for an upgrade.
PC and tablet only
Great app for planning routes but always crashes if you try to route on an iPhone. Why hasn’t this been sorted.

Improvement needed
It's a great app with a lot of potential. I like the possibility of searching for routes around me. However, the user interface is difficult to navigate and could benefit from a revamp. An option to quickly return to our starting point and deviate from the programmed route is a must-have to get five stars.
Essential!
I had used the free version for years, but finally upgraded after moving a couple years ago so I could find some safe routes in my new area and for cycling out of town. I love planning my own routes and the fact that so many organized rides use it now. I did RAGBRAI last year & they and all the charter groups use it. Essential to find your campgrounds.

A descent app
I enjoy the information this software provides, it is accurate 95 percent of the time and helpful in designing routes.
Disappointing
Slow and glitchy add up to a lot of frustration using any part of RWGPS. Not really worth the subscription fee. bikepacking.com sharing routes and the ability to split routes so Garmin can handle are the only reasons for this app in its current form

Paid just to be able to offline, got some routes half stuck that crashes the app. Clown fiesta app
Novice Cycling
Good app for beginers and easy to use. This app grants access to lot of information that can be analysed to gauge performance for the entire trip. Highly recommend
Lost Rides
This app has a bunch of bugs. If you start recording a ride and then close the app before it realizes you’re moving, the entire route will be lost. It will simply record the distance as the crow flies from point A to B. There were other instances whereby other rides were lost just due to the app glitching. Frustrating. The auto pause is a nice feature though.
First impressions
I’m doing a 7 day trial to see if it can be helpful for mtn biking. First ride today it seemed pretty glitchy. Lots of directions that weren’t applicable or late, then at the end it repeats itself until I stop riding to turn it off, which is sooooo annoying. Once would be sufficient.
