Off
For some reason my head computer locked out . Definitely spoiled my ride this morning
Garbage. Lazy.
Apple sign in tokens dont pass through wahoos API. Easy fix.
Broken
Update 1.84.1 broke the app again.
Not connecting
Does not connect with my new Wahoo Roam GPS. No update for this app for 5 months. Will leave 1 star until customer service assist me on this step as its crucial for us to use for Wahoo GPS.
Not User-Friendly
Hard to figure out. Comes without written instructions. Be prepared to spend lots of time figuring this out. Try online tech support. Most of my fellow cyclists use Garmins so not much help there.

Won’t show music page anymore
New update won’t allow music page to load. Most recent iOS and wahoo update.
I’ve still got the Bolt v1…
Perfect…apart from the quirks! Go into settings on the Bolt & there’s no obvious back option - you have to press the on/off button again! Oh…and once you select your options for a page, have fun saving it…! It does eventually all work. You just have to be patient!
Glitches
I’ve been having regular issues with the app, stating that other authorized applications, in this case, ridewithGPS, are unauthorized and need to re-login. I do it, and then it gives me the same error next time I open the app. More problematically, it seems like the bolt computer is not able to turn off after a very obvious shut down sequence and stays on to the point of killing the battery overnight. This is caused multiple issues when trying to roll out of the house, only to find out that the computer, which had more than 50% at the end of the last ride is now dead. These are basic issues, and really shouldn’t be happening at this stage of the app and computer lifecycle.
Incorrect Date, time and GPS issues
I have never had an issue with my wahoo unit till now (August 2025)! Everything is wrong. Can you please have an up date in Apple App Store so that this can be sorted out. It’s really frustrating
Best decision
Love it with the data!!!
Needs update
Won’t work with Apple IPhone to download routes.
Not saving/not showing speed
For some reasons my bolt sometimes doesn’t save the ride,I don’t know why, also sometimes speed it’s not shown on the computer, this never happened on my Garmin, other than that I’ll say it’s a good computer
App broken… again
I’ve lost count of how many times Wahoo has broken this app over the years. Not for the first time, the companion app has stopped automatically uploading to Strava and RideWithGPS. Oh Wahoo…
Freezes all the time
I’ve hardly used my ELEMNT and every time I come to use it I have to update and then there’s some other issue. I spend more time fixing it than cycling! Easier to get handlebar mount for mobile phone and use Komoot or Google maps.
Function
Friendly comp , easy to connect sensors .
Fail
Every ride is uploaded to app. With fail in the completed upload.
Good to be back
Back with a new Bolt, after having one for about 4 years from 2016 to 2020. Some connectivity issues in these early stages - mainly Bluetooth which I am hoping will improve.
Horrendous on iPhone 17 pro
The app was a bit buggy on iPhone 15 when it came to automatic uploading, but with the latest iPhone it is barely functional, constantly freezing, and can’t maintain a stable connection to the wahoo device. I will change my rating if they fix this soon, otherwise have to go with something else
It is the app for this gear!
Writing a three star because those are the only ones I ever read. Actual rating would be something more like 4. Customization is great in the app, never had a problem with firmware updates, however the safety tracking link seems to regularly break for no obvious reason. Does it's thing and does it fairly well without any modern app nonsense. Yet.
Awesome bolt companion
This app is a great, lightweight companion to element bolt. Works flawlessly, features are clearly arranged and easy to use.
Nearly unusable
Would be great if the app could go five seconds without crashing. Makes my ELEMNT almost unusable. Can’t get to any settings or even record a workout because I’m constantly restarting the app. Did all the deletes and reinstalls on the planet and it’s still unusable.
Great company
Love to watch the little map responding when I ride alone and, hate to be without when I forget it. On a new ride, it helps so much to see the map. Minor down-side, I find the button locations and software to be not-ergonomic, and the need for WiFi synching on this model to be a bit of a pain at times.
How do routes work?
I am trying to upload a route, but my Bolt only receives a short stint of the route I have to clear the route from the app and reupload it too frequently. I can’t really rely on my bolt for navigation at all. The Bolt seems too reliant on Bluetooth connection to the phone, which cannot run indefinitely in the background.
But buggy but good
A good app and good to connect wahoo stuff. Can be buggy at times especially with the wahoo rival when you look at your data and statistics.
Love It!
Intuitive and straightforward
Won’t sync
Terrible, I’ve literally spent hours trying to sync my rides to the app with no success. I don’t understand why wahoo would make it so hard to upload your ride data.
bolt fantastic, app a bit buggy
the Element Bolt is great. features, ease of use etc. The app is good but can be a bit unreliable. sometimes changes to page layouts are not reflected on the device, but sometimes it works as expected. it has crashed on me a couple of times. thankfully i don’t need the app often.
No explicit option to update device FW
The alert to update for a wahoo element pops up randomly on the app, and it's easy to miss during post ride transfers. There's no explicit way to say "update now".
Statistics not working
Recently the statistics stopped working. It is just blank and not showing any data. There is no solution or support for the problem 😞
App is crashing when trying to select a planned workout with ios 26
App is crashing when trying to select a planned workout with ios 26
Wahoo does NOT support their products
Wahoo has discontinued their support of older ELEMNT Minis, which means the bike computer will no longer communicated with a phone. This means only ride time, distance and average speed is provided. Functionality no longer enabled is route, top speed, elevation gain /loss, etc. I paid for the functionality and Wahoo, after taking my money, discontinued providing the functionality I paid for.
Oportunidad de mejora
What has happened?!
The wahoo devices are great. And the app used to work seamlessly with the device. But over the past year, more and more often, it freezes, crashes, and just doesn’t work. I can’t upload to TrainingPeaks any longer (I have to upload to Strava, then port from Strava to my desktop to TP…how clunky is that?!). I reached out to customer service and while they were nice, they had no idea how to fix these issues. Coming here, I see I’m not the only one. PLEASE work on fixing the freezing, crashing, and TP interface!
Could be better
This app is good for controlling your Element bike computer or watch but it falls short on the mapping front. Wahoo’s competitors (Suunto) have map editing software within the app which enables you to alter imported gps files to add waypoints or change routes. If this app is improved with such software then I would rate it five stars at the moment it is only three stars.
Wahoo Element Bolt enjoying it.
Easy to read on the ride, Keep track of live mph and hr and time and ave speed too. Easy to open phone app and download. Easy to sync to Strava too. Once I understood steps to turn on , and start ride and end ride I was off and riding Overall simple to use once you get the steps and buttons down. And can page down to gps map too. Awesome too. Plenty of capabilities I will learn in the future.
Poor Apple Fitness/Health Integration
Workouts sent to Apple Fitness/Health do not include Power, Mapping, Elevation, complete Speed, or other important metrics. I’m baffled Wahoo hasn’t addressed this, even Garmin supports more data fields
CoachKellers
My only gripe about wahoo is the connectivity. My watch takes a long time to connect, other than that the watch and app is brilliant.
Statistics tab is very problematic
For months the daily heart rate display stops showing data updated data from the time you upload a workout or open the app. Now the app displays only a blank gray screen on the Statistics tab. This is my primary use of the app, so it is very frustrating. All other aspects of the app seem to work fine.
Great app but seems to be getting buggy
I think the app is great - 5 stars! However, it never syncs to Training Peaks automatically, and sometimes not manually. HR zone editing can be done - but it just resets back to defaults. RidewithGPS merit logging me out - though this is fixed now on last update. A few bug fixes and we’re back to 5 stars.
Most Excellent
I started with the Bolt for cycling and it tracks everything I need and then some. Don’t use the GPS so I can’t comment on that, but using the arm heart monitor and the cadence/ speed sensors put all the data needed to track progress. Now I’m training for a triathlon and picked up a now discontinued Rival and that data goes to the app too, so I have all three pieces in one place. And synching with Strava is just an added bonus.
Trash
This app needs a new overhaul @ASAP
Great watch/fitness companion!
I love the watch & it’s many ways of gathering fitness data! I would love an internet app/program that would let me manipulate the data in more ways so I could look at my workout, heart rate, sleep, etc data over time and in other ways.
Won’t sync to TrainingPeaks
Been waiting for a fix for this now for months. Super frustrating.
Wahoo app
Spent a whole day trying to work out why it wouldn’t sync with elemnt roam! What a waste of time
Rocks
Good price. All the features I need. Auto sync with Strava is great. I like the smaller size.
Crashes Insistently
This app is terrible; I switched my sensors and hardware. It completely ruins the ability to use what should be very simple. This is over-engineering at its worst.
Great app but can’t get GoPro control to connect
Fantastic app, but can’t get new GoPro control to set up. Set up your instructions state you need firmware XXX+ but update not available. Very disappointing
Works but only just
Every single time the app launches it hangs then crashes. It’s been happening almost every software update. I’m a software developer, finally broke down and wrote a review, 2 stars.
Doesn’t seem to allow pairing to two devices
Need to pair to iPhone and iPad - is this possible? Doesn’t look like it.
