Such helpful information
I love this app and have learned so much about my cycle and my body! (But it has spelling errors — hire me to be your proofreader 😅)
Pretty, But Dysfunctional
The design is all looks and zero functionality. The user interface is unsettling (does grey mean an item is selected or is it white? whatever you’ve guessed, you’re wrong) You want to manually update your personal calendar? Good luck getting it to save your changes because app developers could not care less about what you want. You want to record a month where you missed your period? Ew no, what is wrong with you? Why would that ever need to be an option? I’m guessing this app was created by men who never listen to anything a woman says and who dismiss all constructive criticism by blaming it on PMS. Otherwise there is just no explaining how bad this app is. I give up.
Great but missing this
Love the app but I need to export this data for my gyno. Doesn’t appear to be an option. I’m working on solving my issues and you need to bring in partners to help resolve things sometimes…
The sliders for symptoms are glitchy
The sliders to report symptoms have been glitchy and very difficult to move after recent updates, it makes the feature unusable
Papaya 4 weeks in a row
I've used this app to track my period for about 2 years now and pay for the subscription. I am now pregnant and have been using the app to track my pregnancy and am somewhat disappointed. I have noticed that some of the information they give is incorrect. And it's honestly so annoying that with every week's size comparison, many of them have been repeats. I am now on week number four of my baby being the size of a papaya. Just seems lazy, especially for something that I pay money for.
So so so helpful.
I’m in my 30s and have just gotten off hormonal birth control after being on it for 12 years - I wanted to for health reasons and to just let my body do its natural thing. As my body regulates, I found I wanted to be able to track and understand my body more. This app is organized, educational, uplifting, validating and all the things I never knew I needed. I’m experiencing phases that I never really knew about or understood fully (especially going through my cycles naturally now) and I feel so much more in tune with my body. The creators of this app really put in so much work and time into curating an experience for their users that is personal and ACTUALLY helpful. Hands down favorite app of 2024, well done guys! 🙏🏼
Reached its goal of making me MOODY
This is the only app that has ever given me the results it promised. I was serene and mentally stable before, but thanks to this app, now I'm MOODY. I couldn't simply open the app and quickly check if I'm ovulating. No! I had to solve a riddle and figure out a color palette that was multiple shades of IKEA green. I just want an app that tells me if I'm ovulating or if I'm about to be on my period. I'm not in "shift" or "reflect." I want precise language with contrasting colors. I don't want to have to talk to The Riddler.
Good but some feedback
I love the app but why can’t we share it with our partners? Ideally the same way Flo or Clue allows for your partner to set up an account and get a daily update. You can share your insight for the day with them via WhatsApp but it would be much easier if they could set up an account and link it to yours via a code. I haven’t found a way to make this happen - if anyone knows if this is possible please let me know!! This would be a game changer!
Constantly asked to subscribe
I’ve used this for a long time with no problems. Basically just used for tracking. Until recently every time you open the app and click on anything in the app you are asked to subscribe. It’s annoying.
Why make up random terms for cycle phases??
My one complaint about this app is that, instead of using correct terminology for your cycle phase it uses its own made up words like “rise” and “shift”. This is silly and unhelpful, just tell me when I’m ovulating 🙄 otherwise yeah it’s fine for tracking and predicting your period.
Best hormone tracker out here
I’ve tried several apps and this one is by far the most complete one with relevant info about every phase of your menstrual cycle. Every day you get content that supports you and helps you understand your body and feelings better!
Cycle names
The reason for the low rating is because you don’t use common names for each cycle or phase such as luteal. This makes it harder to know which phase I’m in and literally adds more work to my life having to figure it out every time.
So helpful!
I’m 36 years old and this app has helped me understand my hormones and cycle better than ever! The Moody app is personable, easy to navigate, and easy to understand. I can tell actual humans are running this app. The only reason I put 4 Stars is that it doesn’t have the option to be a Widget! I downloaded another cycle tracking app just to be a widget. That way every day I can instantly see on my phone screen where I’m at with my cycle.
Probably great if you pay a ton
I used this app for over a year but I’m switching to something (anything) else. Your experience will likely be different if you pay for the free version which lends to my first dislike. First, the cost for the subscription is exorbitant compared to other apps for similar purposes. Second, the free version has constant pay walls. Every thing you click on asks you to buy a subscription. A recent change is that to log symptoms it tells you to pay, if you X out it will tell you your data will not be saved. You’re stuck. Turns out it actually does save your data even though it says it doesn’t. I’m tired of being told to pay. Like others, I hate that it’s not the correct terminology. The scale for logging symptoms is confusing. Low and high are not good indicators to describe a many symptoms. Lastly, in the spirit of what this app says constantly, every woman is very different. Therefore, I find it distasteful that the free version does not let you add/remove/adjust symptoms that apply to me. I’m limited to only what the developers decided are common symptoms.
Used to be better
Used to be better and much more user friendly but now it seems they just want you to accidentally click on purchasing a subscription at every single chance they can. Can’t even save my logs all of a sudden and I only use it during my period
Appsolutely AWESOMMEEEE
LITERALLY GET IT. I love that this period tracker is simple, and straightforward. It doesn’t throw ads in my face, and provides extremely informational content without hiding it behind a paywall. I’m highly impressed with the daily check-in feature; it describes what your hormones are probably up to, and how that affects your body. The check-in’s have been spot on for me so far, and I’m SUPER grateful to have this reliable resource! My body is feeling its best now that I know how to help it :) Sidenote: I noticed in some reviews that people were being fussy about verbiage and some mentioned missing features and I adore the responsiveness of the developers, not only are they willing to improve but they’re also respectful! 10/10
Buggy
I am still ovulating but Moody erased my February data and my March data. Changing my March period (which is supposed to be 23-27) to 11-17. Apparently today is supposed to be the third day of my period. 😒 ugh.
Needs Proper Terms for Phases
The app is great. The only complaint I ever have is that it says ‘rise, shift and reflect’ instead of the proper terms for each phase of the cycle. They’ll send you an explanation you can go back to figure it out, but it would be 5/5 if the phases were displayed instead of using confusing euphemisms.
Great app but glitching badly
I love this app and it pains me to give it 2 stars but it’s only because I can’t edit my period and it magically made my bleed only 2 days long?? Yeah I wish lol girl!!! Please help! I love how helpful this app is when it’s accurate but it’s not helpful if it won’t allow me to put in the correct data. Great app!!! Please fix 🥲
Decent app but could be much more educational and beneficial
Have to agree with the reviewer I saw initially about the weekly cycle names and periods being referred to as “bleed“ I think as adults it’s just best if we use the correct terminology because most of us don’t know. I grew up, not knowing what the luteal phase is, follicular, and ovulation even was and I feel like removing the words was a step backwards by not calling things exactly as they are to ultimately destigmatize our bodies. We don’t need nicknames or symbolic descriptions about what our cycles are called. It’s probably not gonna happen but changing the names of the cycles and reinforcing scientific terminology would really set this app apart and solidify the experience. You can’t even read an insight without your period being referred to as “Your Bleed” and I think just the more that you have to read and see the words it gets a bit irritating (no offense). I totally understand the name of the app and why it was named that but as far as the nitty-gritty of why people download this app which is to learn about our bodies and our cycle, along with our hormones: Terminology + scientific descriptions go a long way in educating girls who are not taught this from their mother’s or their grandmother’s or any woman in their life.
Every female who bleeds needs this
I’ve got a moody sister she needs this I need this I am now just understanding about phases and how to heal myself before this app I was always googling what phase am I in ? What foods to avoid?
It Won’t Track Moods Until You Pay
There is no free version of the app because the moment you try to track your moods after setting it up, unless you’re subscribed, it won’t let you. You HAVE to subscribe or else the app is useless. The main purpose of even downloading a “Mood” app is to track your moods and you can’t actually get that unless you’re subscribed.
One request
can you pls make the exercise videos easier to follow? As someone who has no yoga background i dont understand any of the pose names and its so fast i cant follow at all. Just started the aubscription and wanna do the wjole month challenge but with this exercises idk if i will
Inaccurate
The app randomly started predicting a 25 day cycle which made no sense considering my average cycle length. When I make edits to the calendar, they’re initially reflected but when I reopen the app, they haven’t saved. I guess I need to switch to a better, more reliable tracker.
Partner view?
The app seems promising. I like that you are able to customize certain symptoms that are relevant to yourself. A big miss for me is not having a partner view. Like so many other apps that have integrated a partner view, it is helpful for your partner to be able to track your cycle and have insights on where in your cycle you are and how they can better support your mood. Sometimes it can feel lonely to track your mood and not have the support of your partner where they can understand your cycle. Is this something that will be available soon?
Game Changer
I have literally never taken the time to review an app before because I can’t be bothered - but I took the time to review this one. I have PMDD and have been riding the waves of symptoms effecting every corner of my life for many years. I also have a detail oriented personality and love spreadsheets. Until now I have only ever tracked my symptoms in custom paper journals because it was the only way to get as specific as I needed for my body/life. Every app was just too generic or fertility focused, which was not me. This is the first app I’ve found that is truly holistic, and SUPREMELY customizable. It incorporates body, mind, external factors, and even the moon! But if those don’t reflect your personal experience, you can add literally any other symptom, and choose how you track it (numerically, visually, toggle on or off). It’s everything I’ve been looking for. The added bonus is the meditations and workouts baked into it as well. Worth every penny of the $36.99 annual fee.
0 stars, it’s a monthly subscription
They make you fill out all of your information without mentioning that a subscription is required until you are done. They should have mentioned it at the start so I didn’t waste my time. Uninstalled.
Widget
I just got this and am liking the free version so far. I was wondering if a widget of a calendar could be made for my home screens that shows when I have checked in and when my period is predicted to be. Thanks!
not inclusive
i’ve been using moody for a few months. i like a lot of it, especially the daily check-in. but not all those who menstruate are women and the app uses exclusionary language. i’m nonbinary and i would like to continue using this app but would really appreciate some language updating.
Helpful but confusing
I like the app but How does the log scoring system work? It's very vague and confusing. For example - mood Is "low" good or bad? Is "high" better or worse? I can't seem to find anything that discusses how you should score.
Excellent
Everyone with a period should have this! I absolutely love it. Thank you ❤️
Worthless
I tried setting up the app to see what all it offered and I accidentally subscribed for the year. $40??? There are a ton of free apps that do more. Plus I couldn’t get my money back.
Love it, needs improvement
I love the holistic nature of this app and what it provides, as well as the very detailed tracking. However, I do wish you would add the actual scientific language to represent the phases of the cycle. “Rise” and “shift” are great when considering the more holistic type of concept but you should also include the actual terminology for the phases. It feels incomplete with the inaccurate labeling.
Meh.
This app is FULL of misinformation & it doesn’t work right half the time. I cancelled the free trial & was still charged for the annual membership for whatever reason. 🙄 Don’t get this app. I deleted my account + removed the app from my phone, so hopefully no more charges occur.
please fix terminology
Or make it clearer. I’ve used this app for about 4-5 years now, starting at 20. I feel like I have to re-teach myself every time what “bleed/rise/shift/reflect” are when it comes to correct terminology. I struggle to explain to doctors the phases of my cycle because of this flowery language. I’ve found reading the articles attached help because it’s usually noted, but I’m really starting to consider moving to a new app so I can talk more confidently about each phase and feel like I know my cycle in terms that the rest of the world understands. 2 years ago, someone left a similar review and while I don’t think it’s because you guys are trying to censor what a period is- I do think an app that is educational, as much as it is helpful emotionally - is important. I’m older now and while moody has been a godsend for understanding my emotions across my period (especially dealing with PMDD) - I realize that there’s a gap of knowledge in proper naming being at least mentioned within the app without having to click for it. If I try to look up information about a phase, looking up “what foods should I eat during my reflect phase” on the internet doesn’t really help. Let the proper names be easily accessible and seen. Overall: I have used this app for 5 years. That speaks for itself. I’ve found it helpful and supportive, but lacking in this one department that as I learn more - I find it’s a bigger letdown that it’s not easily included/seen. Also, the fact that someone made a comment on this 2 years ago and I’m here commenting about the same thing is concerning. This app is helpful, especially if you’re a young adult dealing with emotional periods. But might not be for the long haul if you want to understand your periods on a base level.
Loving this app!
I am deeply appreciating everything that this app has to offer. The check-ins every day provide such valuable information and really help me understand what I need each day. The recipes are delicious and I like the diverse and inclusive feel of the content. I feel seen and nourished by this app. Thank you, Moody!
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME
They waste like 20-30 minutes of your life to get the entire app started, so they fool you into thinking it’s free and even give you a “forecast,” and have you rate your mood, and after all that, they ask you for $40 to continue using it. If you can’t pay, or don’t want to, don’t waste your time! It’s not a free app even though they don’t state anywhere that you have to pay for it until you have the whole thing set up
Quick little feature request!
I’m a minor, and I would HIGHLY appreciate an option to turn off things that should only relate to adults. I do not care about my l!bido. I haven’t even finished high school yet, bro!
Inaccurate and harmful information
The app is built well and has a lot of content; however, it is grossly inaccurate in places. Here are two examples. For menstrual phase, suggested yoga poses are twists and ab work. Midline twisting poses are suitable starting at day 6 in the cycle at the earliest(Rise stage according to the app) and ab work can start with a gentle progression on day 7 or 8 once the bleeding finishes and estrogen has had a chance to rise. A second example is a reoccurring theme I noticed. In the daily check-in there are constant pushes to socialize in the second half of the cycle. Women are the strongest communicators around their ovulation time. Before, they take in inputs and the second half of the cycle is reserved for clearing and reflection. Communication at all times is not only unnecessary but can be counterproductive. I deleted my account and the app and I feel deep grief for thousands of women who are exposed to this garbage posing as wellness.
It’s just okay
It’s a little sloppy/overwhelming to look at and use. I wish they’d simplify the look and make it more intuitive. I also agree with others that I don’t need to use alternative words for the medical terminology of my cycle - in fact, I’d rather normalize saying “I’m in my literal phase right now” instead of “reflect” or whatever. The notifications are also seemingly random. If I’m menstruating, the app says my hormones are at an all time low at this point in my cycle, however, the notifications Im getting are about going out and being social due to higher hormone levels…hello? Which one is it? My “rest” phase or not? Why is it so hard to make a cycle app that is simple, easy to use, and accurate? Also to charge for it is ridiculous. We already have to buy products for a bodily function we can’t control- now I have to pay to inaccurately track it? F off tbh. 🙃
THANK YOU!!!
I love this app so far. My normal period prediction app recently underwent some (terrible) updates and I’ve been struggling to track my hormonal imbalances in a way that would help me visually see what changes throughout my cycle. THANK YOU for this app. I am so excited to use it and be able to see on a graph when certain symptoms rise or fall. I cannot express how much this will help me.
Videos freeze
The app worked well for a few months but now it’s been about 3 more months and the videos just freeze and never start again so you can’t finish a workout or a lesson. I’ve tried to contact the app and nothing has improved.
Love the app: just one issue
I love this app very much to track my cycle and understand the different phases - it helps me so much to act and eat and rest intuitively. I have the pro version and I can comfortably say that it’s worth every penny if you feel like your hormones play a role on how you feel but cannot put a finger on why and how you feel that way. My only issue with the app is that the notifications that I get are amazing, but there is no way of seeing these notification on the app itself. This becomes a bit annoying when I click on the notification hoping to see the rest of it and the app just brings me to the home page. If the developers fix this problem this app deserves 10 out of 5!!
Cannot reset password
Got a new phone. Forgot my password. Tried the password reset and I have not gotten a reset email. And I’m not being hasty; it’s been like a week. Even went on my old phone and sent the reset from my logged in app: no reset email in sight. Not in spam, inbox: nowhere. Would love to continue using and tracking with this app, but I’m literally having to come here for a password reset. C‘mon devs. Get it together.
Great interface but lacking some key things
IMPLEMENT THESE THINGS ASAP IF YOU WANT WOMEN TO USE & LOVE YOU. I love the interface and user-friendliness about this app and have struggled to find something better. But I do think there’s some key things women need for this to be an actually useful tool 1. I agree with other reviews that there needs more termonology. I understand you’re trying to make it cute with nicknaming each phase but i think it’s important to ALSO use each official scientific term for each phase. So women can be informed and empowered and knowledgeable about what’s going on in our bodies. I also think more scientific and informative articles would be great. 2. Most importantly; I think there needs to be better reports and a way to easily see what each phase of my cycle has been like and see what symptoms often pop up throughout my cycle. This would help women a ton with being able to know their period and plan for their phases accordingly. Knowledge is power!! Viewing by symptom on the charts is cool but id prefer to be able to easily see an overview of each phase of my cycle, which symptoms often come with that and maybe what I can do to help with it :) These things would be a game changer for me and all other women and help us stick to the same app long term and especially if you’re gonna be charging premium prices for certain features ;) Be a girls girl and take this and actually implement it for women everywhere!
Used as a journal more but yknow I love it
Ok so my periods are super irregular, I’m never on a schedule BUT having this app helps me WANT to stay on track and let’s me know I’m not completely out of reach with my schedule. Anyways, since my schedule has been thrown out the window years ago, I mainly use this app to journal! You can list everything that you are feeling and check box things and use the slider and add to the list, it’s wonderful! You can also use the little journal and I love it! Looking back on days whne I was feeling horrible and days when I was feeling good! It can be used as a way to track moods in your phases BUT mainly I just use it to feel better, journaling really is important if you don’t have a therapist, or really even if you do. So I use it all the time so I’m never feeling too bad and I don’t go out of control. Haha, regulating yourself so you don’t do anything! 😐 no but seriously this app is really kind to me and I love it sooo yknow
STOP TRYING TO RESTORE MY PURCHASE
I am just signed in to another appstore account of mine, and if I then try to use Moody it keeps popping out an alert saying I need to sign in to another account. I mean isn’t purchase restoring a ONE TIME THING??? Why do you have to ask CONSTANTLY when opening up your app???
This is SO close, 4.99 stars
I love this. I am convinced this is THE app this 41 y.o. tech savvy, wants my phone to tell me everything about me so I can respond to what my body is telling me is looking for. I just wish for one thing. Can it please, please track my cycle using Apple Health connections?? Pretty please? 🥺
Not happy
As a 12 year old girl trying to find a app that will let her use it this app could use not to be 13+ it’s very annoying i really do just want to track my period and the advertising is wrong is says 12+ but actually it’s 13+ I’m still struggling to find an app
Great for Women but not pregnancy friendly
I enjoyed using this app for my monthly cycle and hormone needs. I enjoy the workouts, articles to read, and plans with videos. I’ve discovered that this app is not pregnancy friendly, which would have convinced me to keep paying for it. It also wasn’t as accurate at calculating ovulation for me.
