Amazing company helped me out when no one would I would trust them with my life
If this is the future of credit, god help us.
First, the app keeps on logging me out and turning FaceID off. I use a strong, complex password that I keep in a Password manager. To make getting to my information easier for me, I use FaceID. Petal used to allow me to remain logged in but just require FaceID to open the app. Now, even after logging in and turning FaceID back on, it proceeds to log me out, turn it off, and require me to enter a code that is sent via text. You broke something - fix it! Second, I applied after getting one of those promo offers from Petal - get $50 or 100 statement credit if you apply within a certain deadline. So I applied; credit score was 756, I’ve got 5 current cards, with credit lines from $2000-6000. My utilization was around 10-12% but only on cards with 0% financing offers (i.e. It’s foolish not to take advantage of such deals), otherwise I don’t carry a balance. Have perfect payment history. Length of credit history is lower; my oldest card is about 3.5 years old. AND what happens? petal takes their time reviewing my application. I was ultimately approved for their Petal2 with $1500 credit limit, but a ridiculous 26.99% rate. But now we’re after that promo date, so no bonus credit for applying for me. Plus the short dip in score because of their hard pull. The obscene 26.99% interest is strong incentive not to ever carry a balance, so that’s a good thing in general. I just ask myself - So why would I use this card? - oh the rewards - well, another bait and switch - their solicitation boasted 1.5% cash back, but once again, surprise! it’s just 1% cash back, and after 6 consecutive on-time monthly payments, it becomes 1.25%, and after another 6 monthly payments, 1.5%. Millennial Gamification of everything is just stupid. Sorry kids, you’re not inventing anything new, nor innovating, you’re just attempting to insert yourself into this industry and you clearly don’t know what you’re doing. Sure, reward good behavior; whatever - but don’t bait and switch. There are laws about these things, perhaps get competent legal advice after you get some competent programmers. but I digress - so Now, I’ve paid my entire balance every month, and they show me as 3 of 6 into my journey to better rewards; however their credit limit boost section shows me as 5 of 6 months along in this program, where as long as I pay my bill on time and at least a certain amount (or all) of the balance, and keep my credit score above 730, I’ll get a credit line increase after 6 months… so that will happen (we’ll see how much this is, though it’s of little value to me beyond just increasing my credit available…) but their system for allowing me to get the rewards rates they trumpeted in their solicitation materials (1.5%) is still distant. And honestly 1.5% cash back isn’t even that great. I already get that from My first card, I get more than that from my Apple Card, and my Discover card gets me 1% and 5% in certain categories each quarter. All three of those cards gave me higher limits and lower interest rates, with the last card even giving me 14 months at 0% APR. I’m also on track to have gotten $125+ cash back my first year, and I haven’t even taken advantage of all the offers (gas and warehouse stores that aren't Costco aren’t a part of my spending). Thankfully the Petal2 card doesn’t charge a fee… so I’ll keep it and use it minimally so as not to lose the credit line availability but it’s not very compelling.
Great card but the worst app I’ve ever used
Exactly what the title says: great card but a truly awful..slow..glitchy app.
App issues
All is good. You never know if the app will open. I have waited over 10 minutes at times then give up. No answer from support yet.

The app will never log in. Every now and then it it will open right away, then other times it’ll take 30 minutes of the wheel of death spinning, and never log in.
Great card… horrible app
The app is as terrible as the card is good. The app constantly crashes, lags, deletes information, etc… but the card is awesome! Definitely get the card, but just do your payments on a computer lol
Horrible App Security Risk
For the last year my app has had its quicks mainly very slow or freezing! Today I’m not able to close the app !!!! I’m not able to log out ! I have tried to reload the app but now it will open from the App Store but the icon is not visible 😡 Worst of all when I try to to log out it is frozen which means I can’t tell if my information is also visible or hackable since I can’t log out 😡😡😡😡😡🤬!!!! Oh and I can’t access support from the app either 🤬 This has been going on now for a month + where I can’t download the app but access my account only from the App Store ! And yes I emailed support!
Good card. Bad app
I love the card. But the app is really bad. Usually I have to click out of it in between each step. Or I can’t get to the next one. Sometimes I can’t even log in. I just get the circle of death. Searching and searching till I give up. Please get someone else to design your app Petal!!

App Hardly Works Anymore
Great that I was able to build my credit from nothing, as many others have said. I have been able to get a wonderful apartment from my credit score. However, more often than not as of late, the app refuses to take me past the login screen. It just spins and spins and I can’t view how much I’ve spent or anything. I’m lucky I have time to keep retrying it before my payment is due, otherwise I’d be SOL. When it does open, pages don’t load completely and it fails to show an accurate amount for autopay (I have to rely on emails to know a change is confirmed). Lastly, it always says my card is disconnected from my bank account. I retry it to no avail.
Decent but frustrating
The card itself is great but the app has been a nightmare to use the past several months. Lots of bugs with the app so I had to resort to using the website instead. Very disappointing to say the least.
Card is a awesome tool
The card is great, The app so unresponsive it not funny at all. I am trying to make a payment but it just keeps loading. Only fix I keep on doing is deleting the app and reinstalling it fixes it temporarily. After that it never work at all.
Terrible
My card USED to work but I lost it and had to order a new one.. it’s been over a month and I can’t activate my card.. customer support never answers or hangs up on me.. the app is terrible and the website is no better. Stay away lol. I’ll be cancelling if I can ever get in contact with support again.

I like the app but the app is very slow to update and connect with bank accounts

There are plenty of other cards that offer far more than this one. The website/app is well below average. Look for other cards - this one is hot garbage.
Login issues
App is great. Got me through a rough time. glad I was accepted but an issue I’m constantly been having is logging in. I have to repetitively delete the app, redownload it just to login. Please fix the issue i dont want to miss payments
Annoying
App is “buggy” does not lad easily and inaccurate with information. Customer service is of no help! Has been like this for MONTHS with no resolution!
nice card but the app recently has been awful.
it used to work perfectly, now when i sign in it takes SOOO long to load. then when i try and pay it’ll take forever, or if im going to settings. everything takes so long they all take forever, like its just white but you can scroll down and see a wrong balance in the current balance section. weird, i have to go to the recent apps for it to load. for some reason, it loads better in the background than when im using it in the app, very tedious. i’ve updated hoping it gets fixed for months but it hasn’t yet. really hope it gets fixed asap!
Awful app. Card is okay.
App was okay for the first couple years of having this card. For the last couple months the app has not been showing any payments I have made and also says “You’re all set this month! Your next payment is due (day in this month)”. I have called support several times and each time they ask me if I have tried pulling it up on the website and uninstalling and reinstalling the app. None of those work. They tell me everything looks fine on their end and that they will pass my complaints along. I will not be using this card anymore due to the frustration of the app.
Activation
What kind of card company take over a week to figure out why I can’t activate my card. Company sucks
The app sucks.
Would’ve recommended them a few years ago.. however the app seems to get worse and worse. It takes forever to login and acts glitchy whenever I try to access different areas once I’ve finally been able to login. The issue has been ongoing for over a year. With the new monthly fees tied to the card as well, when the card doesn’t offer that many benefits, it has me wanting to close out my account with them as soon as possible. :/
App takes forever to login
The app takes forever logging in, I constantly have to exit and open again. When you make a payment it takes forever to load the Home Screen again and sometimes not at all. As far as the card, it’s good.

App is Now Functionally Useless
Thought it was just me, but logging in is nearly impossible. For a while it just a loooong time. Now I can’t login at all. With all the unearned profit in this business model, you’d they’d at least give the appearance of providing a legit service.
App is Awful
I would give 5 stars, but I just can’t. The app won’t login 95% of the time. How are you supposed to check your balance and pay your bill on time if you can’t even log into the app. It is so frustrating, it makes me want to close my account.
HORRIBLE
Do not, for the love of God use petal. They are scam/frauds (they will turn auto pay off without telling you), dysfunctional (customer service none existent), and barely functional (the app won’t let me access my own statements, sometimes won’t let me log in)
Worst App but great banking!!!
The app used to be so good now it’s horrible!!! Won’t ever load, constantly says my account needs to be re linked. Used to post my payments fast not it never does right away so it’s a gamble to see if my payment is posted. I will say it’s a great place to bank with considering they have a great customer service team, and great cash back options but they need to get an update for this app ASAP.
Great card
The card has been awesome, but the app could use some work, so this review and rating is mainly for the app. It’s been broken for the last 2-3 years for me. Some pages don’t load when you click the different pages or buttons, and I typically need to zoom out to the app overview and then go back in for the pages to load. This occurs even when the app is updated.
Constant App Issues
I have had problems since the beginning of using this app years ago. Across multiple phones and including desktop versions, Petal servers are incredibly slow and get hung up. Some screens just never load at certain parts of the day including the PAYMENT SCREEN. I got a new card in the mail and I literally can’t active it. I’ve tried on the app and on the desktop over and over and it doesn’t work so I now have to call the support line. AVOID THIS COMPANY
Great Service, buggy app
Company is great, but the app can be a pain. Things don’t load and you have to reload the app sometimes. There are endless loops sometimes. Very buggy, regularly
Horrible in every way
Constantly needs me to relink my bank account, and makes me worried I’m not paying my amount due because the app is so slow and the UI does not show anything it does not work. I have a passion for how much I dislike this card and although I am very responsible with money could negatively affect my credit score for years to come just because this app is horrible. On top of that the app is so slow, and does not respond to any taps I make on the screen.
Log-In Times
For the past year or two I’ve noticed the constant issue of never being able to log-in to the app. I’ll sit there and the button will spin with the “logging in” stuff, but if you wait 20-30 minutes…it’ll still be logging in. Oh hey, just got paid and you’re trying to pay your statement quickly before doing something else? Good Luck logging in to make that payment! The inability to log in has created so many late payments that I doubt they will attempt to fix it, to beneficial to collect late fees
