MAKE SURE YOU SAVE ART!!!!
I love this app!!!! I love the variety of brushes, the fact I can import my lineart to a canvas! On this note, make sure you either screenshot, or save your art if you are using the free version!!! If you pay, I think you can ignore this part, but for the freebies like me, screenshot your art, because if the app is closed, it gets deleted, thankfully I’ve never had a problem with this, because I send my art to myself, but make sure you do this. This app is overall so good! If you don’t want to pay for procreate, or are new to digital art, this is for you! Sad that the free version only has three layers, but I figured out how to work around that
Don’t really recommend this app
It’s not that great of an app a little bit harder to use than other drawing apps but I just don’t like it that much and if you get out of the app for like two seconds, it literally deletes the whole entire thing and if you try and save it, it makes you buy like a pack. I really don’t recommend this app and the creator of this app please fix this! but other than that is kind of a good app
White balance issue
It’s been a few years now and I’m still having issues with the white balance or color profiles. When I open an iPhone 17 pro max photo on the app do some stuff to the photo and save it, it seems to knock out the original coloring and darkens the photo. I’ve been emailed about it and the problem still hasn’t been resolved :(

Erasing my art when I get out of the app
I think there’s a bug because I was drawing and I had to leave the app to look for a reference, and when I came back to drawing MY WHOLE ART GOT REMOVED?? I tried to use the arrows but nothing because they seem to have forgotten I did something. I did multiple tests to see if its a bug or I deleted without paying attention, and is indeed a bug.

Don’t get me wrong, the app is great and all but there are problems that need to be sorta out
1. At least on my end. Whenever I rename something on a document and finishing renaming it, it ends up turning into a folder to which I cannot be able to edit the drawing while it’s in this form on the iPad. Unless there is a way I don’t know and is a bug on my end then I don’t know but I still feel like this needs to be fixed and/or have a new proper system where me and other people can easily just have to edit the document easily with renaming and such and not as what it is now. 2. I feel like whenever I favorite a brush on that tab where you favorite them, there should be think where they save your saved pinned sizes and opacity. There is when on normal when your selecting a brush but when it comes to favoriting them, it just deletes them. Also I think the saved brush sizes and opacity gets deleted anyhow’s whenever I do select a new brush in an another section. Either that or I’m pressing the wrong thing. Either way, still pointing this out just in case.
4 issues that make it hard to use without procreate
#1 - the Text tool is finicky, no options, bugs alot, overall terrible. I use this app to create art, tattoos, stories, graphic design, shirt designs, and i often need to jumo into procreate to finish the text part. #2 - Minimum brush size too big. #3 - Please make it possible to hold and move perfect lines or circles or square around, like on procreate, I wish it was there when i do portraits for the eyeballs and much more. #4 - maybe i don't get it, but the magic wand tool is hard to work with, maybe i didn't figure it out, but end up never using it because it just seems to do what is wants rather than selecting what i need to. Very different than procreate at least. I overall love the app, but these are things that need fixing, imo, this app could be better than procreate with these things changed, plus maybe optimizng the copy/cut/paste functions. I added mine to my pencil squeeze menu , with a lot of things, which makes the app much smoother, otherwise, felt a bit cluncky, so thank you guys for that quick menu!
Updates?
Will there be any updates coming soon? It’s starting to really bug out. I can’t load anything into the ref window. The recent page deletes all recent images then slowly brings them back and still can’t load them. The recording cuts off the beginning smoothing is recorded until later in the art process.
The tool-belt of all trades
I have enjoyed many things from the app. It has a wide range of flexibility, I use it on my laptop and phone. My only issues is on mobile with the animation panel that takes off when adjusting myself and the brushes having a delay/lag, though that may be an user-error. Otherwise, I‘ve had a great experience and am glad I settled with Artstudio
Amazing!
I use this app for so many of my drawings! I’ve had zero issues with it. The brush selection is great! My only issue is that I cannot find a way to duplicate a selection, but I’m sure that’s a problem I can fix easily. So overall, I give this app 5/5 stars!

I love this app but
This a great app and has a lot of brushes to choose from but the app won’t save your work unless you pay for the yearly subscription which is only 4 bucks per year but it’s still 4 bucks other than that it’s great.
It was so annoying
I literally was spending a LONG TIME on something and then I got out of the app real quick and THEN all of my hard work was GONE leaving me sooo disappointed 😔✌🏾

This App Deserves All the Support
Procreate is a wonderful app, but it’s clear it’s heavily favored and promoted by Apple. Artstudio Pro is everything I wished an art app would be, and it doesn’t get nearly the love or attention it deserves. I’ve used it exclusively now for years. I’ve moved from my Wacom tablet and Photoshop setup to ArtStudio Pro and my iPad. The freedom has been unmatched, I can do my illustrations anywhere. It’s like Procreate and Photoshop had a baby. The developer is kind and helpful and hardworking. If you come from a Photoshop background (like me) for illustrative work, ArtStudio Pro is going to feel very much like home. I’m so grateful this app exists.

Not to be rude but i think you shouldn't have to PAY to simply save your drawings. I give it one star because the tools are so cool! I would give it none if possible and if it didn't have those tools. I would also appreciate if you could at least save drawings for FREE
Procreate is overrated
Best art program on iOS. CSP is my main and favorite program for desktop but I don’t need the iPad version since I already have Artstudio. It’s seriously that good.
Good until it deletes your progress
I was using this for a while, liked it better than procreate, then it deleted my progress on something i was working on. I tried to see if it had reverted to a previous version, etc., but the last saved version was from like 4 hrs ago. This was with autosave on (5 min intervals) and the setting to save whenever I close. I still have no idea how this happened or if I can get my progress back. Either way, i would say saving your file is like one of the most basic essential functions of an art app. Would be one star if it weren’t for the fact that it has good features and was working well before this incident. Note that i DID pay for the app. I am not using the free version.
Barrel roll function poorly designed
The barrel roll is a good feature to have, but the way it’s integrated in this app is very poor. The pop up window is unnecessary and it pops up all the time when you don’t want it to.
Artstudio Pro - keeping it handy & simple
Despite the extensive features of this program, I initially focused on the fundamental functionalities, which proved to be straightforward and easily implementable. Subsequently, I gradually incorporated various additional features. While I am proficient in Procreate, this program offers a more efficient and streamlined workflow, enabling me to maintain focus on the current task.

It’s ridiculous how you have to PAY to save your art. I made a drawing along with rendering and that was my first ever good drawing I ever did I was proud of myself. But even a hour later of not being on the app. My art was gone when I got off. It shouldn’t be for money.

Its a great app… if you know how to use it but it wasn’t great for me because as a beginner it was hard to figure out the controls and it was impossible for me to paste a photo and trace it like JUST LET ME DRAW so thats why I rated it 3 stars I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re like really really good with tech
Better than other apps
Artstudio Pro is, in my opinion, the best drawing app available right now. I honestly don’t understand why Procreate is so much more popular when Artstudio is far more complete and professional. I bought both apps around the same time, but Procreate eventually faded out of my workflow. I’ve been using Artstudio Pro for nearly four years now. One of the biggest advantages is that when artwork moves outside the canvas boundaries, Artstudio doesn’t permanently delete those pixels like Procreate does. As a children’s book illustrator, this alone makes a huge difference in my workflow. Features such as Adjustment Layers, Liquify, Filters, and Effects make it feel like having a lightweight yet powerful version of Photoshop on my iPad. The watercolor and oil paint brushes are also exceptionally well made and highly professional. Another major benefit is that the number of layers is determined by your iPad’s available RAM, rather than being artificially restricted like in Procreate. The only area that still needs significant improvement is the Text section. I would love to see the Artstudio developers expand the layout and typography tools to make them more complete and flexible. Looking forward to future Artstudio updates. And honestly, I wish there were a way to collaborate with the Artstudio team someday…

不知道这个软件究竟是哪有问题，已经画了40+小时的画，画着画着突然所有图层变成了半透明灰色，再也抢救不回来，我刚刚又经历了第二次，真的很生气🥲你们究竟修不修？
Great app!
ive been using art studio for a while now and its honestly one of the best and easiest programs to use. the only downside i see to it, is that it crashes quite often, and i lose progress, but that might just be my ipad being old, but keep in mind it might crash for others too. other than that, i love this app.
Not so good

This is probably the best drawing app I have used so far BUT BUT BUT there is one thing that cannot be ignored.LIKE WHAT KIND OF A DRAWING APP MAKES YOU PAY TO NOT LOSE PROGRESS!!!five minutes later* ok. I have calmed down now. So never have I ever seen a drawing app that makes you pay for progress.So I’ll stick to IArtbook for now.

Good & Easy replacement for old school Photoshop
There’s a lot about this layered photo/image editor that is very good. If you’ve used photoshop, then this will be very easy to use as it’s very reminiscent of the good old days when photoshop was powerful and usable without excess complexity. The ONLY reason I have to give this 4 stars is the text editing which is not as easy as the older version (ArtStudio) of this app. It is hard to change the look of text without having to specifically select characters in a text box. Also, I keep creating new txt boxes by accident when I am trying to edit text. You really should be able to select a text box and change the text kerning spacing , font size and type without having to go into the text itself. Unless you need to have different attributes for characters in a text box, complete changes to all text should be made possible by having the text box selected without having to change the lock while the text is highlighted. Access to the contents of a text layer needs to be more immediate. Also, double tapping on a text layer should allow you to change font, line spacing, size, kerning for the contents of that text layer. The text/font adjustment editor UI experience just needs a bit more improvement

Pretty sure this app has been abandoned for other projects. This app is falling apart, there’s bugs all over the place. It’s very unfortunate, this used to be my go to app for drawing for work. It’s getting hard to use, I’d look elsewhere where.
Really good but one thing that REALLY got me…
This app is so fun and so easy to get use to. I spent ages on it, but one thing REALLY got me. I went off the app for two seconds and my art was gone. I restarted but I went off the app again and it deleted again! I tried one more time and it happened again. Second it happened I deleted the app. Maybe work on that and it’ll be an app that I re-download!

The one little thing is that when you have a picture you mess up and you rub it out it goes to the checkered square then you can’t get the picture back.

Fantastic app but too many glitches
This app is one of my favorite art apps to use on my iPad Pro, it could rival with Clip Studio and Procreate however the amount of glitches and freezing is very frustrating. Even with all the updates and bug fixes, it’s still just not a stable app unfortunately. I hope this gets fixed permanently in the near future as this app has the potential to be one of the best creative apps on iPad! Please note what I have stated. And I hope this gets resolved soon. Not saving
I love using this because it is a free game,but if I do a drawing I really like or I worked hard on it but it doesn’t save I know it says “fixed saving problem” but it isn’t fixed it’s still not saving I’ve done some art just a minute ago I turned my phone off to get some food I turn my phone back on and it’s not there anymore it’s just a blank white page if this can please fix this if possible
No manual!
My old ArtStudio app is expiring so I downloaded this new one. Just can’t get to grips with it at all. Can’t do the things I used to tackle really easily. This is not an easy app for the inexpert. PLEASE get on with producing a manual. Really very disappointed.
The only app I need
I’ve been using Artstudio Pro since it was launched-years. And I have not used photoshop since. I do most of my work on my phone or tablet and this app has everything I need and more. Great for creating art and powerful complete photo editing capabilities. I would be lost without it.

A very good cost effective Digital Art Studio which is regularly improved.
The app is very good for amateur artists and semi professional artists, illustrators etc. There is plenty on offer and is worth the money to upgrade to this professional version and is good to see the venders regularly update the app. It is also considerably cheaper than Application like Adobe Photoshop. They tend to regularly fix bugs and bring in new features. For me to give it 5 stars I would like to see some pastel options under brushes. With pastels there are four different types water colour pastel a supplier of these is caran d'ache Neo Colour 2( the best available to artists, illustrators, Oil pastels, soft pastels and hard pastels. I feel a interface to make and add your own brushes include a picker tool for scanned in art work to obtain a sample then the options to change the brush effect like what is available already. Then being able to name your brush like for example soft pastel light, soft pastel heavy(heavy strong pastel stroke brush). This would actually help develop the app further as the new brushes could by being shared with the vender facilitate some very comprehensive updates. The reason to use the brush section is so you have a huge list of brushes so you can draw from scratch or add to existing photo etc when developing new artwork. Also some smudging tools for pastel brushes(simulating actual pastel art work and finish). This I feel is a application with a lot of development potential. Also a note section to help new and old users to obtain the best out of the application would be helpful with pictorial example of the different tools and how to use them. Also a development on the animation side would be a great update with the feature of being able to load in short videos and be able to work on them and for timed effects be able to work on the video in a frame by frame format so you can make creative videos and short movies. Then be able to save a copy of the video, stroke animation, movie in one of the compatible movie formats like MPEG3 etc so the copy can be loaded into other applications to add things like sound tracks etc. Also it could the video animation once in a commonly used format could be developed further on a computer with different movie, animation, sound studio application. This is definitely a very good alternative for Art illustration students as Adobe and Corel Applications tend to be expensive and even on the pay monthly schemes it tends to be quite expensive. This Application certainly does help with getting into digit art and illustration and the Apple Pencil is definitely a game changer when it comes to drawing, painting, illustration and doing text. The Apple Pencil works extremely well with this application on a IPAD and I would definitely recommend this app to anyone interested in doing creative art, illustration work etc. A serious must have creative Application.
Used to be so good
Before the updates that made this app mirror many functionalities of procreate, the app was one of my favourites and I’d been using it ever since it was released. After though, it’s become a challenge to use. It may just be because I’m an old user, but I find the app very disorienting and hard to use now, no matter how long and hard I try to get used to it. The brushes not being on the side anymore is frustrating, and makes swift functionality difficult. With everything on top with only specific tools available at a time, its a challenge for someone who uses a lot of them. The colour system isn’t my favourite in the world either, but it’s manageable. I really only enjoy the brushes now. They’re fun to use and I always kinda preferred them when it came to not having pressure sensitivity.
This app needs a guide that shows all the changes between ArtStudio & ArtStudio Pro.
I’m a novice average person that can pull of decent amateur Photoshop pics on the original “ArtStudio” App. I find that app really easy to use and can find almost every tool I need to make a photo that I want, it’s like a pocket size “Photoshop” that’s way better than the actual Photoshop app available on iPhone. Now getting back to this app, ArtStudio Pro, When I first got it I tried time and time again but gave up on it, There are too many layout changes and it’s really hard to find the tools required to make a pic. I find it really frustrating !! I’m sure that this app can probably make better photoshops than Art Studio but I find Art Studio Way easier to layer different photos & I know how to transform layers and use opacity and different blend tools to achieve the desired effect . On this App I really have no idea whatsoever on how to achieve similar results. Is there a guide on & what tools have changed and how to access previous tools that have moved. This app feels too much like a completely different product where you have to start off from scratch trying to learn all the tools and layouts , So far I’ve never been able make an edited pic and use some appropriate tools to get the job done. I’ve only given it 3 stars because I believe that it’s probably more powerful than it predecessor but if I want to make a quick & funny meme or photoshop I always go onto The original Art Studio all becaus it all works a whole lot better than this app. Maybe you can add in a dew tutorial projects to help people like me learned how to use this app as I believe it probably is really powerful. The layout & massive changes compared to it predecessor makes this app less attractive to compaired to it predecessor. You know about the old saying , If it’s not broke then don’t fix it.. Maybe you could integrate a “classic” mode on this app that switches it back to layout like the original Art Studio ???
