Dark Mode is Here!!!!
Nice one Suunto. Dark Mode on the app AT LAST! Now i can see how lazy ive been. 👍
Buggy app doesn’t sync with Strava
Going to return watch. All I want is for it to quickly transfer the activity off the watch and upload it to Strava. Super hit or miss. Fix this junk
Buena!
Porfavor, añadir compatibilidad para exportar entrenos con la app Kiprun Pacer!!
No sync option?!
Odd that the app has no option to sync with the watch. Why would this app even exist if it cannot sync with my device? I don’t care for a mobile device app and would much prefer the desktop sync option. Thats such a key piece of this that’s missing.
Language
It’s unacceptable that this app and Suunto watches still don’t support Persian (Farsi), even just for display. This is a basic feature that many users rely on. As a Persian user, I’m unable to read notifications on my watch at all, which makes it far less useful than it should be. At the very least, there should be support for displaying notifications in these languages, even if full system language support isn’t available. Please address this issue—ignoring such a large group of users is not acceptable.
Love the Suunto app
Love the dark mode. Thank you. App works great with my new Vertical 2 that I got for Christmas. This is way better than the Apple fitness app. More data without it being overwhelming. The design is really clean and easy to understand. My only request would be a dark mode. Great work guys.
Great watch, disappointing App experience
The hardware is excellent, but software reliability has become disappointing. A core feature of the app has been unusable for weeks, and despite confirmation from support that the issue exists, there is still no fix or timeline. As someone who trains almost everyday and a sport influencer , I expected much better from a premium sport ecosystem.
Buggy App
Just ordered my watched and downloaded the app. When I try to edit my personal information, I scroll to my year and it randomly scrolls to one year above or below. I literally can’t select my year. I have the same issue with height. I hope this isn’t an insight into things to come with my watch or more important features.
Good most of the time
Use with my Suunto EON core dive computer. Unexpectedly it’s stopped reporting DAC rate, which is pretty annoying
Good app
Good app! If I could make one request, for my Suunto ocean it would be great if I could create alarms for specific days rather than just weekday or weekend.
Love the Watch, Hate the App
Have multiple Suunto watches and use to be able to sync on my Mac. No more that sucks for Suunto. App is a waste of disk space.
À quand un mode sombre ???
Utilisateur Sunnto depuis plus de 15 ans, je trouve votre application super. Néanmoins j’aimerai bien savoir s’il serait possible d’avoir un mode sombre ?
Don’t care for the new interface
Tracking and connectivity are fine but the new interface is not user friendly. They try to pack a ton of widgets on a single page and it is not nearly as easy as the previous versions of the app. I hope they’ll offer the old version at some point.
Good when it works
A comprehensive data set that covers most people’s requirements. I personally would agree with another reviewer that the latest upgrade has over complicated the dashboard. Biggest issue is ‘bugginess’ around upgrades and painfully slow synching both with the watch and when uploading activities to the database. Similar problems have regularly occurred with software upgrades to the watch which have almost always led to total synching failure until a patch is launched. The software upgrades appear to have been rushed out without robust testing. If this continues I’ll be changing systems. It’s a shame because when it’s working it’s 5 star.
Very good
Very good
Latest update terrible — consistent issues with syncing every watch or app update with this company
Run guide syncing totally crashed with latest update and the support solution is junk (factory reset) — how about don’t push updates without major bugs?? Researching other brands bc this continues to be an issue with Suunto. Thumbs down.
Works good, basic features missing
For me sync of the results works automatically. Weather data I’m not sure, if it needed to be synced manually. Daily walked Distance is not shown. Neither on the way nor in the app. This is very disappointing for me. Only when you start an activity like running or walking and GPS is used, distance is shown. Steps and kcal are shown for the day. Not the actual distance. Why Suunto ?
Latest update is a step backwards
I have always really liked this app but the very latest update (August 25) is a step backwards. Why would you amplify something to this extent? The previous UI with the four different activity screens to scroll across was way better. What a shame
App and Vertical Watch
Suunto Vertical – Field Assessment Summary: A capable, highly accurate multisport GPS watch with exceptional battery life and rugged design, but hindered by software limitations and Suunto’s shift toward the fitness market. Pros: • Outstanding GPS accuracy and satellite lock speed • Simplified, intuitive user interface • Excellent battery performance even with full GPS use • Lightweight but physically durable construction • Competitive price point for feature set • Ideal for fitness tracking and daily wear Cons: • Suunto’s brand direction now leans toward fitness rather than expedition/adventure use • Stock bands prone to snagging (easy fix with Apple-style quick-release bands) • App cannot import POIs—only full routes • Offline maps only downloadable to the watch, not mirrored to the app • GPS Coordinate search within app unusable/unreliable (potential safety issue) • Firmware updates occasionally reset custom configurations • No manual coordinate input on the watch itself—limiting field adaptability if separated from a phone or data connection. You can project a POI on the watch map but there is no way to input GPS coordinates if given over a radio, for example. Operational Advisory: Do not rely on this watch as a primary navigation instrument for SAR, military, or backcountry operations. Use it as a secondary aid alongside a dedicated GPS platform such as the Garmin Tactix 7/8, Montana, or GPSMAP series. Since Suunto’s acquisition by Liesheng Technology (China), its development trajectory shows a clear pivot from Finnish expedition-grade engineering toward a consumer fitness ecosystem. The Vertical remains well-built, but its long-term reliability and firmware focus warrant continued observation.
Great app - constantly getting updates/features
Works flawlessly with my Suunto watches. Constantly getting updates/new features just like the watches. Great map/routing functionality to build/manage routes. Other review that mentions the watch not syncing to their “computer” - it is not intended to. Watch syncs to the mobile app.
Incredibly invasive!
Location data even when app is not running. Access to all health data. All shared. No thank you.
Shoe mileage
Please add a dedicated feature to this app where you can track mileage on all of your different shoes. Adding the tags does not work. I have been doing that and the mileage is totally wrong on the shoes. That’s the only thing this app is really missing.
Updates have reduced functionality
Suunto app updates have reduced functionality for my Suunto 9 peak pro. I can no longer sync workouts in app. I have done all resets and troubleshooting and wasted time on chat customer support. It will now sync shorter workouts. But spinning data or hikes don’t sync. The message on app always says last sync failed. The workouts remain on logbook of device. Hopefully they will get the bugs out before the logbook gets too full.
Most recent update is unfortunately
I used to absolutely love the Suunto app. The front page had options to swipe between 3-4 different pages of widgets and a feed of your activities below, making it visually digestible but still providing all the info on the home page. I also can no longer find a way to look at my weekly average for steps and calories burned (it shows daily and the graph trend but the previous version showed the 7day average for pretty much all stats). Please please please bring back the staples of the old app. Genuinely when people ask why Suunto over garmin my only answer was the app layout and I don’t think I can justify that anymore. The old app layout was the sole reason I didn’t switch to garmin 2 years ago.
Love this
I love suunto, ive been a suunto girlie since 2020 and the accuracy of my miles and all the features the watch has its mind blowing. I love how the app operates and it’s easy to maneuver. Best decision ever
Update Shot workouts
After update, I can no longer get the watch to stay on Suunto Workout. Screen is blurred on that also
Convient à mes besoins
Est- il possible de rajouter Wingfoil dans les activités sportives
March 2025
New app interface is not as sleek. Activity log/list is too busy. A better search and summary function would be helpful. Sifting through logs isn’t always as easy or capable as it could be.
Slow
Every update just makes the app slower. The ideas are great but it runs slower than dirt
Insane
very good app with reliable and solid watch performance
Why have an app that won’t sync with the watch?
I loved this set up with my watch and the app but now it won’t sync. I have tried everything including deleting and reinstalling with zero results. Now I have a dive watch computer that won’t add dives to my app. Frustrated is an understatement and feeling like a mid range app now is what decides if I have to go find a new watch dive computer. You guys are the best salesmen for Garmin. Way to go
Newest release doesn’t recognize Bluetooth
Since updating the app to the latest release my Suunto 9 baro won’t sync. Says Bluetooth isn’t turned on(on my iPhone), but it is. Edit: uninstalled the app and reinstalled. Apparently Bluetooth permissions were not automatically retained with this update. All is well.
Apple Health/Fitness
Data from Suunto app is not updating the Activity categories (move, exercise, stand) when connected to apple health. Only some data is shared. But the activity rings in apple fitness are not being updated
What you do?
I thought that this app was really simple and gave me everything I needed to go with my watch. The latest upgrade just made it a muddle. Why did you do that? Were people really calling out for the app to change that dramatically?? You could improve the performance, especially with the watch on elevation, but the app was actually and clear and easy to use until now. I’m now will have to sit and fiddler around with it to make it back to how I like it.. Interestingly, I also updated my watch and now the battery life has dramatically changed.. Are you now taking a leaf out of Apple’s book? I have not updated my watch in sometime and I truly regret doing that as now I don’t get the battery life I used to have and will need to consider a new watch for my next ultra. Kind of furious at you guys right now and enough to be looking at garmin more seriously although maybe they also screw the battery life on watches. I know like apple youll say you dont but its a weird coincidence it just chsnges just like thst. Had watch 3 years no drama. I will avoid watch updates on any new watch and advise same to users
Suunto app >>> Garmin app
It’s really a great and polished app. Thanks for constantly improving it!
Connectivity issues
App does not connect to the watch (Vertical). Useless
Basic in comparison to others
I didn’t expect such a basic app from a company as prolific as Suunto. It doesn’t even have a dark mode! Having changed brand from Garmin - and kind of regretting it - I can say It seriously lacks functionality.
Failed to upload data to iPhone
Couple of issues. The sleep data from watch is not updated on the app. I wanted to upload the watch data to apple health, doesn’t sync all of step data and any sleep data to apple health. Reinstall the app made it worst even with your login credentials.
Great
Great App, tracks way more than I initially thought and gives you a good sense of how you’re doing with fitness. Only complaint I’ve had is I’ve had it not automatically post to Strava like twice in a year. It usually does instantly though
No ideas what you’re doing
How do completely overhaul the app and make it entirely worse. Can you try do the basic well before trying the rest. Like running splits for example? The app is embarrassing. Hard to believe you trashed movescount website and have never improved anything since.
Great app
Overall it’s a great app, but it needs a home screen widget for iOS, and it would be nice to be able to export sleep date to Apple health with everything else 🍏
I hope to see SUUNTO in bankruptcy soon
The watch does not work properly, the app neither, the hearthband neither. I cant wait to get a garmin instead.
Transition for Fitness Watch
Transitioning from Garmin instinct 2 to Suunto Verticial. There were some luxury I didn't realize until I got used to the Suunto app that I missed within Garmin ecosystem such as being able to login and track your weight. I have noticed that with the recent alltrails update it would clock in more miles compared to my Suunto vertical watch. I am wondering if that is due to being in a dense forest during hikes. It would be great if the gps can overcome that slightly as I really like the watch.
Great app!
I love the scrollable chart below a run that lets me see specific metrics along my route!
Latency
The lag is unreal. So annoying. At least 5 seconds from when I click something to it happening. It’s always been there, but this most recent update. I think made it even worse.
Lovely app
Really easy UI with loads of tasty stats. 3 feature requests: Bluetooth disconnect notification on watch, background sync so I don’t have to open the app, all activity types have unique colours in calendar view. Thanks!
New update 2024
Why do my exercises jump from 6 days ago to 4 years ago? Nothing in between. We should also be able to add screenshots/pictures of issues.
Synch problems
Watch and app constantly have problems to synchronize. It could be an update issue.
