Love it
Great app I love using it for new routines and working off the soreness after races and long runs.
Stale content and unreliable functionality when needed
Started having some new pain after a race recently, and hoped to take advantage of this premium subscription benefit, but body part specific recovery routines are not able to be generated. Tried different routines. Deleted old routines. Cleared cache. Deleted and redownloaded app.(lost all remaining routines) No change. No new routines Contacted support 🤞🏼 This on top of what is and has been a very limited content library and clunky interface has made this a much less useful, valuable, and now reliable app than hoped and paid for.
Can u plz!
Can u plz have the audio not automatically play when going through the stretches.
wrong age
says it’s to be used by 13-year-olds and older but it’s actually for 16-year-olds and older.
Great but please add an offline mode!!
Great app and syncs direct to Strava but desperately needs an offline mode as it won’t load custom workouts without it. It could be good at logging weight training to Strava as well with specific reps and weights if they thought about it. but I feel like it is not really developed anymore.
Really works to address pain
I used it for post-run back pain and it produced a short workout / stretch tailored to my training history AND IT WORKED IN MINUTES - my back pain disappeared. Amazing.
Recovery programs gone
Sometime in the last week or two, my recovery programs disappeared.
Custom Routine Improvements Sorely Needed
I like the app and the ability to follow pre-determined routines or create custom ones. But I think the custom experience would be much improved if I had the option to just search the name of the exercise I want to do instead of having to click through muscle groups and equipment. It’s also very annoying that when building a routine, I can’t go back to a previous muscle group after adding exercises to my routine without having to start over from scratch. With the current setup, I have to remember or write down what I previously selected as I go through multiple muscle groups.
No arm injuries
Looks good if you don’t have arm injuries. Useless for Tennis Elbow!
Fatal flaw
The first routine I did had an amazing therapeutic effect. However, after my next run the pain was just as bad, in fewer areas. Instead of letting me do the same routine which helped me so much again, it started trying to force me to do strength exercises on my 8 soreness posterior tibialis? First exercise was to put all my weight on one foot and lean forward? That’s injury waiting to happen. Just let ME pick the routine that’s right for me. In the meantime I’ll have to drop the app.
Excellent .
Clearly developed by a team of athlete engineers. Though I love working out, I have little patience for fitness/training apps. I’ve been feeling a little beat with the spring soccer season ending though so I decided to try Recover through my Strava subscription. It is perfect. Such appreciation for quality engineering. Incredibly user friendly, informative without being overwhelming, lots of useful features without being glitchy or tedious. From one engineer/athlete to another - excellent work and thank you.
Functionally Dead
The app hasn’t loaded new routines in forever and you have to pay for the stale routines it does have. Strava kind of ruined it.
New to the app
I’m new to the app and love this often overlooked component of training! I’m just learning my way around the app and I am using the free version. The stretches and strengthening exercises based on my needs are great! The one area that I don’t see is the forearms and hands. As a climber, I need some helpful recovery for my forearms and hands. Am I missing something? Or would you consider adding it? Thanks!
Videos don’t play
The content is good when it loads. But I can never get videos to play. Will often have to wait for at least a minute to see the animation start… load times should be much quicker when these are simple, few second long repeating animations
Too many bugs after updates
This is a great app but since recent updates their are a lot of 'errors fetching videos' which is a pity. I'd hoped the last update would fix them but it hasn't.
Stepping back up
Great assistance in building back not only physical strength but mental when it comes to training after an injury. Easy to follow, enjoyable commentary and semi close to personal tailoring/training for any level of athlete. After having a knee injury I truly kneeded the easy to follow workouts to help pass the time when I can’t be fully back out running!
Was a great app until Strava took it over
Was a great app until Strava took it over. Specifically now the interface is not as user or recovery content friendly. Additionally has way too many actions and permission asks to setup, get started, or add a program. The app has much less recovery content and in its place data tracking interfaces.
Excellent when videos fetch
Really enjoy the workouts, but the videos fail to fetch maybe 33% of the time, which is a bit annoying when trying a new routine
Pay Walled App
Strava advertises for this app, and makes it extremely straight forward to download the app. At first I was super excited about it, and ready to start adding mobility and stretching to my daily routine. But as soon as I opened the app I realized that almost everything on it is behind the Strava subscriber pay wall. I deleted it immediately and returned to the Nike Training Club app, where most of the stretches and exercises are free.
Hi
Hi I am new and just learning about this but I with most of it was free to use
Helping me get more flexible with less pain!!!
As an older rider this helps with cramping and they are very convenient. I like being able focus on specific areas as well as using the pre-ride & post-ride stretches. Big difference since started using!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Can’t play videos
App is buggy! Most of the videos are not working!
Want to give it 5 stars!
Like the title says I like the app for what it is and does. I have to take a star off because the error loading video in every stretch/strength/etc… Very annoying!
Keeps crashing
Good app but keeps crashing when doing custom workouts.
Want a true iPad / Apple TV version
Would be nice if there was a true iPad app given the reliance on video content.
Ben fatta
Molti spunti e ottimo che sia stato inserito il timer, idea semplice che molte app dimenticano
Disappointing. Very disappointing.
Strava shoves this app in your face every time you finish a workout on their app, so finally, I relented and signed up for it. I’m 42 and bicycle about 11miles every other day. I’ve noticed that I’m getting some pretty bad lower back pain about 3/4 through the ride. I figured Recover could be really helpful in finding ways to alleviate that constant lower back pain plus it supposedly works well with Strava. Helpful? Nope not at all. Apparently I have to pay for Premium just to access lower back recovery stretches. Shame on you Recover. Deleted the app. Plenty of FREE lower back recovery stretches on YouTube to choose from.
Laggy Example Videos
I like the stretches but they take a long time to load
App latency
It’s impossible to use the app. The content is great- but you can’t get to it.
Limited
This app has great stuff for lower body and covers most common injuries for running and cycling. However given the general name and nature of what they advertise they are very limited in actual recovery. There is hardly anything for core and most of the stuff for core is NOT recovery exercises if you have an actual core injury (such as diastasi recti or post op). And there is nothing for shoulder or upper body injuries at all. They definitely should hire a team of corrective exercise specialists and expand their workouts and library to cover those core and upper body recoveries. Until then 3 stars for how limited it is.
Love this for running recovery
Have you considered making a companion app for apple watchOS?
Meh
Free version only gives you one stretch routine, don’t see why I would pay for an app when I can just google or YouTube the stretches.
Too much restricted
Really great, but there’s just too many things that you need premium for. But the available ones are definitely helping me.
Pretty subpar app
- Editing existing routines is hard, if you want to change the muscles being targeted you just have to make a totally new routine - There’s no way to look at individual exercises and instructions before a workout - No way to quickly sub exercises in a routine - No way to skip or edit individual exercises while doing a routine
Enjoying the workouts but…
I’m finding the app randomly closes out on me.
Great app! Some issues.
Love the integration with Strava. Some video playback issues in the workouts and experienced a crash once. Would recommend to a friend.
Recover app recommends a real unhealthy move for an athlete
Recover app recommends lower foam roll exercise as a part of lower back recovery routine. It’s one of the well-known dangerous exercises that can cause injury even the healthiest athletes.
Great app, one small request
The Recover app has been a great help to me providing stretches and rehab exercises to deal with the aches and pains of running. One request, it’s hard to see the timer when it overlaps the video of the person demonstrating the exercises because the black digits overlap the black clothing the person is wearing. Thanks for making a great app.
Videos on the latest version just appear frozen
Hopefully it gets fixed soon!
Poor recommendations
When I got this app, it would make logical recommendations based on the workout I just completed and it would show how far I ran. Something changed and it recommends the same 2 or 3 nonsense workouts regardless of what workout I did. For example it will recommend a warm up after a workout. Disappointed.
Good structure
I like having a structured program based on my activities and not just doing random exercises.
App is losing its value
I really loved this app but the new update is really killing me. You’re making me pay money every month for Upper Calf Stretches?? GET RID OF IT. It’s a filler exercise that wasn’t there before! You got rid of better exercises as if nobody would notice!! A lot of prehab routines were ruined in the new update. Please fix this.
Nice recovery workout
I like the timer feature, and the fact that it’ll move through a work out. However, I’d prefer if it would give a cute when you should switch sides and would move onto the next exercise without needing interaction from me.
I like the idea, but they’re missing arms and wrists.
Those are the two areas I was needing, but they’re not there. And why do you have to pick from a list? Why can’t you just click on the body?
UX Design Is Important
This app has a decent foundation of exercises and routines. I’m hoping it’s acquisition by Strava will lead to investment in the UX of the app as it’s riddled with easily solvable problems. Hard to justify paying for premium as it is, unfortunately.
It’s Great!
It reminds me to actually stretch!
Not for swimmers
The app only focuses on leg soreness that does not occur for swimmers. A more full body approach would be needed, or at least upper body. Achilles, Rhomboids, Pects, Deltoids, Rotator cuff, Bicep insertion, etc.
Enjoying the app! Great, quick reminders.
I’ve been using this app after workouts and I love that it uses my Strava history to suggest something that isn’t too long. I do wish it had a better timer. Something with a countdown after I switch exercises and also a light chime that tells me when to switch. Unless I’m looking at my phone the whole time, the timer right now isn’t very useful. Given some positions aren’t really great for also looking at your phone this would be a welcomed addition.
Not working with Strava :(
This app looks like the recommendations I was sending to Strava to have an image of the body where you can keep track of your bad spots over time. I really hope it works the way I’ve always imagined it, but when I click “continue with Strava” it just opens the App Store in an infinite loop :( Hopefully it’s just a minor bug that will be fixed soon so I can try this thing out! And of course I’ll change my rating once I can actually get in :)
Good ish
I like that I can publish my recovery to Strava, but there are hardly any free routines (I switch between two because they are the only relevant free ones for me). Seems like it should be free for me to make my own routine so I can do what my coach recommends and still post that to Strava. The best part is that I can track my soreness and that it reminds me to do some sort of recovery.
