Excellently Functional
For a credit union this is the best banking app I have ever used. It encompasses everything you need and it’s all in one place. Canvas Credit Union has some of the best people working for it and the best customer service, so I’m not surprised they also have the best app.
Worse banking app I’ve used
It would be nice if you have the Facial Recognition for it to not say “it’s been a while since you last logged in TYPE your password” like I log into my app 5 minutes ago! And it will crash every other use. Or transfers will not load the submit button so you have to close the app and restart 5 times for it to work. I’ve had banks that are no longer in business have better quality apps

For auto loans show the principal and interest breakdown of the payment

App functions as it should but it could be better with newer features and updated look (looks very bland and boring, out of date even) and it could compete with chase and other mobile banking apps.
Issues
The app recently has had issues when logging into the app. Face ID and trying to login with a password.
Best Credit Union ever
I have been a member since 1973. I have had a wide variety of loans through this time. I had a challenge as my wife go MS. They stood by my side helping me with payments. I retired moving to Tennessee but just could not close my account. All those years and as God as my judge I only had one bad experience with one teller. I think that is amazing! God bless this company and all of it’s employees 🙏🏽✝️
Deceptive app behaviors
This app moved money from both me and my partner’s account into an account that was negative causing us a financial hardship. Both of us are disabled. We can’t pay rent now and that will cost us the money that was negative and some. Thank you so much for putting us into a financial hardship! You’re doing gods work! Oh wonderful, they just did it again! Are we retaliating further because we dislike being held publicly accountable? What a petty game your bank is playing. Transactions post latent and don’t show pending, causing transaction misinformation with balance and what has and hasn’t been processed. The system that’s being used is really bad. Most banks post pending the moment it’s run through. Most CC processors are networked and aren’t processed manually so this argument is moot. Overall the experience with this bank and especially its app which feels vibe coded at best…I’m going to suggest taking your money elsewhere. After a recent experience where the bank refused to process a non approved charge. I definitely suggest not using this bank nor the app that reports poorly. Now I’m being charged overdraft fees while having a positive account balance? I’ve never experienced anything like this with a banking institution. This feels like I’m being retaliated against for leaving reviews over concerns about the poor app functionality. And yet again another inconsistent issue with this bank. Instant transfers are taking longer than an hour or not posting. And now I’m being charged random holds for the same amount nearly every week for a “general hold” this only started happening after I experienced app devs or management retaliating against this concern.
Works good
The app has been randomly logging me out and asking for a password lately. Then Apple won’t let me auto fill it in. It’s kind of annoying. Over all the app is great and very useful. I love Canvas as a bank and will not go anywhere else.

Every time I go into a canvas I am greeted with a smile and a professional attitude, I have been banking with them Since 2014 and I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else.

I’ve always been pleased with the services I’ve received over the years with the credit union. I’ve been with them way back when when they were the “Public Service Credit Union.” I can highly recommend them. I really prefer being a member of a non profit credit union rather than a bank.

I really wish I could support a local institution more but the experience is just so inferior to any major bank that its hard to justify keeping more than a few dollars here. Its 2026 and the zelle experience is still the worst I have ever used.

Customer support
This bank will shut off your card without warning no reason I have no help whatsoever. I have an emergency and there’s no way for me to contact. They’re never available when you need them. System is always failing online app ATMs never work.

The application is failing to accept mobile check deposits and its not providing any resolution or reason for the fail.

There isn’t much this app can’t do. I especially love that I can see my cards digitally in the app, see my credit score, and easily track spending and transfer money to my son’s Canvas account. Makes family banking easy! Thanks Canvas!
Terrible App
This app is terrible. Not user friendly at all. Their customer support is not good either. Customer support literally tells me NOT to use the app and to either call in or use their website. I am unable to link external accounts to transfer funds in the app and customer support has been no help. I have spent almost a year trying to get this sorted out and have not found any solutions. It is wasting my time and money in ridiculous service fees. Honestly don’t waste your time with this credit union in general. I have had nothing but negative experiences.
