Hard to cancel
For me, I don’t like this app. I cannot figure out how to stop the app from charging my account so it charged me $100 today and I did not want to keep the app because I wasn’t going to use it and I didn’t find it was what I needed so now I paid $100 for something I’m not going to use which now I’m gonna try to make myself use it but they do not make it easy for you to cancel your subscription or sorry it’s actually after you do the trial, it’s so hard to try to go in there and figure a way to stop it before it charges you $100. I will not use this app…

Great app for home cook ideas
I’m a home cook, love preparing new and exciting recipes. This app is great to gather ideas and prepare a different meal from the usual! Minor gripe: a few updates back, you could access the conversations you had with your ai assistant, without needing to go to a specific recipe, that seems so have been removed and I lost some conversations with replacements and pairings I had.
Bad Reviews / App too Intrusive / High Prices
App is too intrusive in getting access to contacts, search history, purchases, and so on. I don’t like apps that farm all your data! Also too many bad reviews. Prices are too high. To much AI generated media. Not for me.
How much does this cost?
You’re telling me I have seven free days but you’re not telling me what I’ll have to pay after the seven free days

Not worth it
Nice idea but not worth paying for. I canceled through settings in the app and I better not get charged. Seeing reviews about people getting charged after canceling in the free trial makes me suspicious. I hate apps that are set up like this.
Needs proofreading !
The recipes are inspiring but the spelling errors are glaring. “Howers” instead of “hours”? Poke “wholes” the instead of “holes”? I could go on. One could attribute this to the fact that maybe not all chefs know how to spell, but the errors are so consistent across the recipes that they cannot be attributed to individual chefs. For the amount of money they’re charging I think they can afford proofreaders.
Basic Features Malfunction
For such a pricey app I would expect for basic functionality to be a lot better. The audio doesn’t play automatically as you can tell it’s meant to, and even when a video is selected , you often still need to tap the mute button on and off again to get the sound to start playing. Then, after about 15 seconds, the sound cuts off again. Smh. I wouldn’t try taking a master class in 15 second malfunction bursts butane that’s just me .
I really hate “free trial” models
Free trial models are so annoying. I do get that these apps have high quality content and need people to pay to maintain that. However, it feels like these apps are relying on people forgetting that the 7 day trial is up or being too lazy to cancel, and generating income that way. What would be MUCH better is delivering value (having some content be free) and then letting people opt in to paying once the value has been demonstrated!! Real bummer because I really wanted to try this app.

Better recipe tagging would make it a perfect app
This app has the most amazing content - That’s why it’s so frustrating that the tagging, search and recipe organization is so dismal. Please hire a developer to better manage your data, standardize the recipes and fix the mistagging for proper search functionality- this app is so close to being awesome. Would also love it if you could search or tag by tool (thermomix, combi oven, etc), would be really helpful.
Cool ideas, bad user experience
I want to like the app, and as a career chef, I love browsing interesting ideas and techniques. However, the app experience really gets on my nerves. First of all, you can’t avoid the videos autoplaying. I hate autoplay video. It’s takes over whatever you were listening to when you launch the app. Secondly, there’s no way to print or export the recipes in any way. When I want to try a recipe from Gronda, I usually end up writing the recipe by hand. I prefer to import recipes into other apps where I can take notes and refer to them later. Another nitpick is that it’s not very good at searching recipes by ingredient, or technique. It would also be nice to search recipes by equipment, such as thermomix or pacojet. Hopefully the experience improves before my next renewal comes due.

A+++ Content B- Delivery
Gronda has excellent content from extremely talented chefs. However some of the features are buggy and UX is not as intuitive as it could be. My main gripes are that it’s really difficult to watch the masterclasses because there’s no easy way to save the class to your library and continue where you left off. The video quality during streaming is also poor and the audio often goes mute if you put the app in the background and then reopen it. I also think the app is trying to do too many things at once. Originally it seemed like Instagram for recipes, but it’s also kind of like a LinkedIn for chefs and a Masterclass and Pinterest for products. Those are all great ideas on their own but maybe too much for one app to do successfully. In my opinion they should focus on being a really great learning resource for chefs and nail the Instagram for recipes/masterclass portion rather than trying to also be LinkedIn for chefs, but maybe their professional chefs feel differently and want a way to be discovered. I am a home cook just trying to learn so all those features are just white noise to me. Overall the app has a ton of great content and ideas but doesn’t really excel in usability. I think the app could benefit from listening to its users and polishing its core features and UX
Scam?
Please explain to me why my only option to start the app is the 1 week free trial with 99.99/yr subscription, but your annual subscription cost is only 53$ for Gronda Pro? Good app otherwise outside of poor pricing practice and lack of organization within the app
Yes and no…
Even though there are over 20,000 free recipes (according to Gronda review responses), the truth is that they’re hard to find and fairly simple. I think the app developers should add a simple straightforward way to filter out all the “Pro” recipes. This would eliminate much frustration when trying the app. After reading so many reviews complaining about being charged even though they cancelled within trial period I don’t feel comfortable giving it a chance.
Love this app
The fact that the recipes take 45 seconds and they are so simple and yet elaborated enough to a nice restaurant.

Good content, if you can access it.
I subscribed to pro, created my account, was exiting to create my recipes library but after after a couple weeks I was logged out of the app and never was able to login because they just can’t find my account; customer support is useless they never provide a solution. I just “donate” $99.99 to the developer.
Laggy & crashes phone
Please god fix this horribly optimized app! After 10 minutes on it or so it starts to lag horribly and freeze to the point where I can’t even swipe up to go to my Home Screen (iPhone) or change apps, and when I can do that, it takes 5-10 seconds to register, then lags horribly when I’m trying to click on another app or swipe up to close this app. Often times if I try and turn my phone on standby (click power button once) it will sit there frozen not working and then all of a sudden crash, multiple actions flash across my screen at once, and the phone goes on standby. I have fully updated everything. It’s a cool app but my god fire your developers for iPhone please!

Why not charge one time for the app??
My issue with apps like these is they want a subscription. And it’s an expensive one at $10 a month. Why not charge $10, $15, or $20 for the app with unlimited use? I’m almost certain you would get more sales that way. Less people are going to want to pay $10 a month than $20 for the app. Jamie Oliver’s app was a great.

7-day free trial is a scam!!!
I paid for the 7 day free trial and after 48 hours decided the recipes were NOT practical and therefore not for me so I cancelled my subscription but Gronda refused to refund my money. So warning they do not honor their 7 day free trial!!

Could be the least responsive app ever
My son gave me an upgrade toPRO for Christmas. I had downloaded the app over a year ago but never used it because every recipe seemed to be beyond a pay wall. To use the gift certificate i need my pw, which I forgot. The reset says they will send you an email. I’ve tried ten times on four diff devices and yet to get an email. Tried contacting on insta and recd no response. Got an email asking to set up a time to talk about the App. Never received a call. This seems like a grift.

Bad experience
My minor child accidentally purchased a subscription while using my phone, without my authorization. I immediately canceled and contacted support, but the refund was denied despite this being a clear case of an unauthorized purchase by a child. For an app that allows subscriptions to be purchased so easily, there should be better safeguards or more reasonable handling of situations involving minors. Parents shouldn’t be penalized for accidental purchases made by children. Very disappointing experience.
