Amazing cooking app
I love this app so much, i’m vegetarian so sometimes coming up with recipes can be challenging as sometimes i lack the creativity, but this app helps so much to bridge the gap. I’ve made multiple meals from this app that i never thought id be able to cook on my own, but this app lays it all out for you and makes it seem simple. highly recommend to everyone , even if you’re not vegetarian, just to come up with new and creative ideas to use things you already have.
Adds incorrect directions
This app makes up steps that are not in the imported recipes. It would be one thing if they were accurate, but it invents nonsensical steps. I suspect it’s using some sort of AI to be helpful, but it actually takes extra time to verify that the recipe import hasn’t added incorrect steps.
Good
Good
freemium
I really enjoy the overall idea of the app, especially the culinary lessons and the quizzes which help you learn how to cook with out needing external help - for example, if your dish was too spicy, you’d learn that by adding dairy, it would make it milder! However, the free version of the app only really provides a folder and search tool for recipes, rather than being educational. Overall, the app would be so much better if its best qualities weren’t behind a paywall (in my opinion).
ITS SO GOOD BUT HEAR ME OUT
IT LITTERALLY GIVES U ALL OF THE RECIPES AND THE RECIPES ARE TRUE BUT GUYS YOU HAVE A DAILY LIMIT IF U ARE USING THE FREE VERSION YOUR DAILY LIMIT IS 3 I MEAN THATS REALLY ENOUGH TO ME BUT 5 COULD BE BETTER
Frozen
I cannot progress past the add recipe tutorial

Useful but something that need to be added to make it better

You guys are not so important that it requires an account to use the app.
Keeps giving errors on video imported recipes.
What the title says.
Wow😭
I loooove this app. I love cooking and baking and I’m literally always seeing those Pinterest videos that have true best recipes but they always gate keep how to make it or all the measurements and now I can actually make the recipes I want
Super confusing
The recipe was really hard to follow and not worth it. It made changing the serving amount very difficult and tedious.
zest is a good app but..
it’s good but u have to pay to know how much calories etc
Too many steps before entering the app
When i downloaded the app, i had to go trough so many screens and selections, to then end up on a paywall before even having seen the actual app!!
Annoying
Can't do anything without paying and hasn't been able to upload half the recipes I've tried
Why I love you zest
You can save me so much time and energy when I have a bad day and I love that so much finding you was like revisiting a loved one I love you zest❤️
Can’t cancel free subscription
When I go to my subscriptions in the App Store I see ever other app I have a subscription for but the zest app. Feeling like a scam
Can I please filter only zest recipes
There used to be an option to filter by only zest recipes, can we get that back?
Glitched or just ignoring(possible scam?)
So I got a free trial of this app and i was given to option to give someone a free month trial. The link took you to the website and you had to put your card in. Usually after we get a free trial we just cancel it in our apple settings. I was able to cancel it but the person i gave the free month trial to could not. They went to the support page and tried to cancel and even contacted their support email 3 times to get it cancelled and heard nothing back from them. There was a page saying to cancel through the website but it didnt exist. So were stuck and werent sure what to do and then it kept trying to charge him 80$ or something for the yearly thing. So he ended up having to get a new card because the customer support didnt and wouldnt answer. Please fix this and work on this. I feel like this is a scam and you cant cancel. I like the app but this shouldnt go under the carpet.
Pretty good but some major bugs
I am actively using this app on the free trial and so far I am very impressed. The import feature of recipes from Instagram, tik tok, or even just websites is very handy. It’s nice having a handy central place for recipes that automatically tracks macros and adjusts ingredient amounts based on serving sized However… A major app breaking bug I ran into is when editing a recipe or “starting one from scratch”. This just entirely closes the app crashing it. This is a major feature that I am unable to use even when uninstalling and reinstalling the app. So that’s a large disappointment considering if you pay for this app outside of the free trial. For now I’ll leave a bug report and this review. If it’s not fixed by the end of my 2 week trial I’ll probably cancel it and not use the app. Not getting all of what I’d be paying for for sure.
I love it so much
Really really really helpful 🥰
Import feature doesn’t work
I liked this app because you can import videos from TikTok and ig but it doesn’t work. I followed the steps exactly and later when I opened the app to see the recipes I imported, nothing was there. Super disappointed.
Good, but…
I really liked zest originally, it was perfect! However, I really wish there was a way to turn off recipes from the internet showing up in searches. It makes it a lot harder to find recipes, and I find that I simply prefer the zest specific recipes.
Ads are horrible
This app used to be great. Now you have to pay 100 just to change recipe and make without minute long ads. Such a shame
metric system is not metric
The metric option still shows imperial measurements when talking about the temperature of an oven which makes the quizzes that use it really difficult as I have never used fahrenheit in my life and it is not standard in the UK. It really takes away from the experience of the app.
Organized
This app helps me save money and stay organized I recommend
terrible do not download!
this app is beyond terrible unless you pay their insane price for the app. i don’t even care that i have to pay to see the recipes or watch an ad but the recipes i saved a lot of them got deleted. and now you have to pay extra for more recipe space. waste of time just download a better app.
Import own recipe
I love the app, but i wish i could import your own recipes, otherwise it’s an amzing app
Once Great, Now Paywalled
I used to love this app. It was my go-to resource for learning how to cook, offering a ton of recipes and step-by-step tutorials that made even the most complex dishes approachable. The video guides and lessons were incredibly helpful. I found myself using it whenever I had the chance. However, everything changed when they introduced a paywall. The app went from being a treasure trove of free content to offering just five free recipes. This sudden shift felt like a betrayal to long-time users like myself who had grown to depend on its extensive recipe book. While I understand the need for developers to monetize their efforts, the transition was handled poorly. There was no warning or gradual shift; it was an abrupt cutoff. The new subscription model might be reasonable, but the lack of communication and consideration for existing users left a bad taste in my mouth. In summary, while the app still has great potential, the sudden implementation of a paywall with limited free content has significantly diminished its value. I hope the developers consider more user-friendly ways to balance monetization with accessibility. Until then, I’ll be searching for alternatives.
Wont let me move forward
Im enjoying the app but can not progress any further because i need to finish a concept but i have already done that concept. Its stuck!!
The Best
A really good app I know how to make a bunch of stuff that I used to not know best app ever
was good till they put it behind a subscription.
i had this app for months and used it with no problem, bragged about the convenience of it to a lot of ppl. i came back to it after a while and find out now i need a subscription. i will be deleting. i can just read the recipe from tik tok.
Wish their was a way to link produce to grocery apps
It would be much more convenient and easier for people to use.
Unprofessional - but good recipes
I used to recommend this app to everyone I know. However, after months of use, they one day restricted my access to a paywall. I do not think this app is worth the cost and I think it is extremely unprofessional to turn it into a paid app and restrict access without warning. I think this app is a powerful tool and really changed my outlook on cooking and gave me the tools I needed to become comfortable in the kitchen. This app is a great recipe book and I enjoyed the recipes I learned to cook from all cultures on this app. I will truly miss this app, but I cannot support this unprofessional business model
More options please ..
Would be great if there was an option to cook gluten free please. Where’s the “how to videos”? A lot of reading files (I’ve my old recipe books for that 🤷🫣) was told I can follow along the videos , also as per your description… is it different for alternative countries ? USA / UK both English language.
Zest is the best
So I love zest when I’m craving something I see a food video I press the share button then more and press zest shows you the ingredients love it
I don’t need another subscription
45 dollars a year for what amounts to saving online recipes I can just google for
Fun, metric/uk measurements missing
Unfortunately I have to convert everything to metric and also Fahrenheit to Celsius. I like the rest of the app, it’s cozy and feels carefree. Thanks dev team.
Great app but want your money
great recipes with just as great instructions, sadly they only allow you to make three recipes before putting everything else behind a paywall, really scummy when you consider it's supposed to be for students. at least make the user be able to unlock another recipe through doing something in the app and not just opening your wallet. Also funny considering the fist sentence in the app description is them wanting you to help cook more than 3 meals, but then only give you three you can unlock for free
Good but strange update
I liked how the app was with the lessons and such, I was paying for a cooking course. But it seems with the most updated version they removed that in favour of more recipes. I’m not sure if I’m missing something but without the personal touch of someone talking you through the concepts of cooking I’m not sure what I’m paying for. Also the Cod with sweet peppers and lemon recipe has gone even after I favourited it? That was one of my favourites
Works Amazing
Really good app, it makes saving recipes easy and even tells you the nutritional content.
New update deleted my account
After the new update the app not only logged me out but seems to have deleted my account entirely. No matter what sign in method I try it’s starting as a new account, even though I have over 200 recipes saved. I can’t find any support line to contact and I’m incredibly disappointed that I put so much time in to this app
Measurement units
I've only just downloaded the app today so haven't tried any recipes yet. Having explored it, I really like the tips and explanations it gives you on recipes, I think it's really helpful to learn the why's and how's of cooking! My only issue with it so far is that although I set my app to "metric" units it still gives the oven temperatures in Fahrenheit, rather than Celsius. Providing Celsius would be helpful for users outside of the US. Other than that, I think this app will be great!!
No vegetables
Most of the recipes that are free have almost no vegetables, this way people will never eat the recommended amount of vegetables.
Refund
Hi I’m really sorry but I’m unsure how else to get through to you. I used the free trial for zest and didn’t really like it but completely forgot to cancel the trial which ended yesterday. I got charged about half an hour ago and I immediately unsubscribed from the app but is there any way to get a refund?
Zest
I love this app it’s amazing 🤍🤍🤍
Doesn't import
I've tried many platforms to try to download and import a recipe. Always tells me "import failed" am I doing something wrong? Or this app doesn't work well with others and I can't import from other social media platforms.
How do I complete “how to get started”?
Heya amazing app but my how to get started is stuck on 50% even after cooking the meal and reading everything. How do I fix this?
“Continue with apple” doesn’t work at all
What the title says.
Can’t login with UK number
Clicking continue with apple doesn’t work and it won’t let me put in uk number! bit annoying Edit; thank you for responding - hopefully I can try the app soon!
