Incredibly Helpful!
As a first time mom this app has really helped me get things in line when it comes to my daughters sleep schedule.
No clear path forward without subscription
After setup, it says “One last step” and forces you to “Activate Camera” and enter subscription which it claims isn’t required. If it’s not required, DONT FORCE SOMEONE TO START A SUBSCRIPTION!!! absolutely hate apps that do this.
Peace of Mind for New Parents
Nanit had been a huge help in managing the nighttime scaries as a new parent. There is something extremely valuable and having this kind of security going to bed. I do think some of the app features are confusing but overall I like it
Greedy, Silicon Valley Baloney
The app is awful. It wouldn’t even let me set the camera up before it started to ask for money for the subscription. And there was no way to get past the “pay me now” screen to actually see if I could get the miserable hardware to work. It’s 2026. Just get the camera to work before you start demanding more money for your AI, you vultures.
Used to work great
Now it takes over a minute to get live video. Last month or two just completely tanked usability for me. Please fix! My connection can do 10mbps and other live videos work fine.

I absolutely love my Nanit! 🥰 It has given me so much peace of mind as a mom. The video quality is amazing, and I love being able to check on my baby anytime. One of my favorite features is the activity log—it is so helpful for keeping track of my baby’s sleep and daily patterns! I also love that Nanit provides helpful feedback, insights, and pointers to help you better understand your baby’s sleep and make improvements when needed. It’s easy to use, gives me so much reassurance, and has truly been one of my favorite baby purchases! I would definitely recommend it to other parents! 🩷

Everything about this camera and app is perfect except that you have to pay a membership which is insane considering its cost. Another downside is the stats aren’t 100% accurate, so if you’re a data-loving mom like me, it sucks when the sleep stats are wrong. Lastly, the separate monitor should also not be that expensive. The price just doesn’t make sense. Other than that I love it.
Not worth the money
Great concept terrible execution. App is so slow. Calculating the night takes hours. Picks up false wake ups so hard to get an accurate stretch of time the baby slept

Do not buy Nanit!
This company is a complete scam. You buy a $300 camera and then they force you to pay $120 a year to use the features of the camera you just purchase. It’s Absoulete garbage. Do yourself a favor and buy any other brand. You will get the same quality camera with a ton more features at a fraction of the cost.
Nanit
We love our nanit! I will say we had to purchase two the first one keep turning off and not turning back on, even with a replacement camera we could not get it to work. Turns on the base (we had the one the mounted on the wall) was broken. I ended up buying a whole new base/camera before figuring that out. The smart baby monitor is not worth the money- maybe wait for them to update the design a couple times. The concept is great but the battery doesn’t even last a night unless it’s plugged in to charge.
Inconsistent Sleep Score
There are better options out there that don’t require a subscription. The sleep score is widely inaccurate, especially after the free trial. Constantly says we do visits and pick our child up out of the crib multiple times a night, which we don’t. I’d say I need to report errors 4-5 sleep nights a week. If I were to do it all over again, I’d get something more basic that doesn’t require a subscription. It’s also a pain if you have a babysitter as you need a high cost subscription plan to add people to the Nanit account to use the app (which we refuse to do - bought a $50 camera/monitor for grandparents/sitters to use if we have a date night). Save your money and the annual fee - get something more basic.
Love it but can add new features
I love nanit camera. But it keeps detecting mobile as our baby and will say baby is awake. Also it would be nice of the care activity can be added up, how much bottle, how many diapers, how many hrs of nap for each days on the top.

Keep having to delete and redownload app
For some reason, I can’t access the camera anymore while using the app. This started happening a few days ago. Every time I try to use the app, the video won’t load. However when I delete the app and then log in, I’m able to access it. I’ve deleted the app and downloaded it again more than 5 times now. It’s very frustrating. I think it has to do with local signals? Idk but I tried to toggle that setting on and off and logging in and out and nothing other than deleting the app has worked. As a mother, you know how precious time is when your kid is sleeping. Having to deal with this every time is not great.
New bug
Not sure why, but the recent update will not connect to my camera unless I delete and re-download the app once per day…
Exceeds expectations!
As a first time Mom, this monitor has features I didn’t even know I needed until I discovered them in real time and I’m so grateful that we listened to recommendations for choosing the Nanit!!! In the newborn stages, we loved the diaper/bottle/breastfeeding/nap tracker in the app that my husband and I could both log and look at (before we were utilizing the Nanit monitor, as it was set up in his nursery and he was in a bassinet in our bedroom). Our son recently transitioned into his crib and I was so pleasantly surprised and excited when there was clips saved of each event (coughing, crying, waking up) from overnight in an activity log. Right on the main screen overlying the live feed it has an update that baby fell asleep, woke up, or was last attended to a certain number of minutes ago- which was very helpful as we were using the Ferber method for sleep training. When he was taken out of the crib the first morning, there was a summary of his night with a score of how well his sleep was and it’s been incredible to see how that changed over the past week- this many minutes to fall asleep, this many minutes crying, this many wake-ups, etc. It has made the very stressful sleep training/crib transition as smooth as possible and who doesn’t need that?!? There’s also options for even more sleep analysis and statistics with an upgraded plan. I’d give the Nanit monitor 12/10, would absolutely recommend!!
New update is TERRIBLE
Live feed won’t stream on MacAir, have to uninstall and reinstall app on iPhones if I close out the app for me to live stream Nanit cam. NO LOGOUT OPTION on settings? PLEASE FIX!

Great monitoring system for baby
Great on subscription, not great on free mode
Nanit technology and app is great overall. All features can be useful to your needs. However, if you’re not subscribed to their plan, conveniently everything doesn’t seem to work properly. For example, video connections takes several minutes to start and show. There’s also 5-10 second delay in sounds. The app on the phone as well has these issues and delays as well. If you’re paying the price for the products, these devices and apps should still be functional without forcing customers a subscription.
App too big
Fine as a baby monitor, but why is this app taking up some much storage?? Seems excessive to need 1GB, considering I’m not saving any videos or anything
Best App/Best Product
Couldn’t live without this app. Love that I can access the camera from anywhere I want at any time without being on local WiFi. I also love that I can share this app and have family be able to tap into the camera easily.
Live Stream Won’t Work
I have been a super user of nanit for over 2 years. It was great until the most recent update, now the live stream function doesn’t work so I am watching my baby on a $50 monitor we bought for vacation instead of the monitor I spent hundreds on + hundreds more in subscription fees. Nanit fix your problem asap!!!

Few issues with connectivity but overall awesome!
Not worth the money
I like that I can check on baby when I am out with my phone, but it would be nice if the Nanit came with an actual monitor screen to use at home especially for nighttime to save my phone battery. The app is not worth the money in my opinion, you have to pay $400 a year to use all of the apps features. Yet it is constantly glitching and takes forever to load video history as well as the night/daytime video lapse.
Insights are awful
I’ve used nanit for both of my kids so far. The main reason I bought this camera is for the breath monitoring, and this part of the system works very well. It’s really nice to have the peace of mind with a newborn. The reason Nanit has lost its stars for me is because the insights have been wrong literally every single night since using the camera with my second born. It will almost be a year since he was born, and if he gets up even once in the middle of the night, it treats that as his wake up time. So if he wakes at 2 am, it logs it as his wake up time and throws everything off. I’ve adjusted setting but nothing makes a difference. It’s not an essential part of the system, but it’s very frustrating that it doesn’t work, especially since I am paying for it

Paying for my decision
There is something inherently deranged about caring for a newborn that could die while sleeping for no reason. On the one hand I’m glad someone with the tech knowhow wanted to improve the lives of parents, literally letting them sleep better. Ive been anti-smart home surveillance since it started popping up among my middle class colleagues, but with a new baby I was willing to put that aside after a week of almost no sleep because I was so afraid of SIDS. This device alleviated a lot of that discomfort. But only when it works and today, at 3:30 am, three months into using it, I can attest that is not always the case. The camera has to be at the *perfect* angle and distance. After almost a hundred nights I do not know what this magic combination is. We’re using a clamp with a long arm that attaches to the crib and sometimes everything works as desired and sometimes I breathe on it and ?!?!?????? The status bar will cycle between “Baby is moving”, “measuring breaths/minute” and “tap to start monitoring”indefinitely. It will not tell me to move the camera. And if the baby stops moving I don’t trust the system to be smart enough to notice, since it doesn’t have proof baby was breathing, only moving. I just don’t know how it categorizes that information. There have been at least two reports of parents whose babies died of SIDS even while using the system, to which the company claims the system wasn’t on when it happened. Maybe? Or maybe their camera got caught in this glitchy limbo and they didn’t notice until it was too late. (Can I find the article I’m referencing about said parents? No! Did I mention it’s 3:30 AM?) It would be one thing if this was a hundred dollar system, but here in Canada it’s four times as much. This company recently got a 50 million dollar infusion of funding to brag they’ve incorporated AI analysis. Okay, but does it actually work? I don’t know! I’m grateful for this allowing me better sleep in that first month, but man, I’m now paying for that now. I never I thought I’d get into an argument with a smart baby monitor, but here we are. I just hope it doesn’t result in anything bad for my baby.

Terrible new update
The new update is awful! I can’t even see my child on the screen. We also bought the Nanit home and the battery just drains immediately! Do not buy, save your money.
Sleep apnea
Everything about the system is great! Love the product. 2 things 1. The breath counter before stop breathing alarm, the alarm is after 20seconds. if it could tell us how many seconds between breaths. Sleep apnea is considered between 10-20 seconds in infants and toddlers. Which significantly impacts brain development. I get the alarm is for SIDS but if it could also show us the 10-20 seconds apnea range and frequency we could help our children before it gets impactful!!! Also the old logo was better. Truly love the app and product tho.
Filtering in Activity tab is bad
I want to be able to filter just the feeds and diapers, rather than all the other ones that don’t have filter options. Currently even after turning off the sound, motion filters, I still have to scroll way too much to find the feeds and diaper changes. Needs to have better filtering.

Nanit has been absolutely fantastic. The picture quality is excellent, the app is easy to use, and the features give us great peace of mind. It’s reliable, simple, and easily one of the best baby products we’ve purchased. Highly recommend!
Video no longer works after update
The latest update completely breaks the video streaming functionality. I pay for the premium subscription and now cannot use the app at all!
Decent
Sometimes doesn’t notify accurately, for cries, or motion. Sometimes say motion or crying is happening when it’s not but mostly works well. But makes me nervous for when she’s in her own room at 6 months.
Gets worse with time
1+ year in, it's always buffering and refuses to connect. No other devices in our house have issues and it's one of the closest to our router. Save your money and frustrations

Live Video broken
Do not update the app. The live video is broken and you cannot monitor your children on the new version, as well as the patch. It has been. A few days and still no fix which is making the nanit rather useless
Great but I wish the tracking would have totals
We are seeing an IBCLC and totals of formula, totals of wet and dirty diapers, pumping time and volume and total nursing time are always asked so I wish the app did it for us
Good App but too much is paywalled
It’s a great app if you’re willing to pay. The insights gives a lot of overnight info, but really what are you supposed to do with that information? It’s just marketing. Without the subscription to insights it’s just a very expensive 1080p camera. Very outdated compared to what’s on the market now. Everything of value is behind the paywall, which is crazy when the camera is already $350+. Without the subscription it gives you notifications but doesn’t show you what triggered it. Just says motion or sound alert. Save your money, look elsewhere. Over the course of the camera’s likely use with your newborn, you’re looking over $1,000 with even the cheapest subscription.
Video history fails a lot
Accessing video history takes forever. This is one of the benefits of paying the subscription and one of the most frustrating features. It won’t load. I have to switch between days so it loads, close the app, etc. My wifi connection is perfect because I can do everything but this
