App is finally good again, even better than ever
I just updated to Version 5.87.1 and can say thay the app is finally good again after a long period of buggy mess! I honestly was on the verge of switching to a different service but I’m glad I stayed with Tiny Beans. Uploading & captioning are now a swifter and faster process with a new interface, making this version the best it’s ever been. Kudos to the dev team and please keep up the good work!!!
Expensive and glitchy, horrible app, greedy!!!!
They want $75 a year when it used to be free. I HATE them with a passion. Everything that used to be great SUCKS now and this is one of those things. I would never pay for this because the app doesn’t work half the time anyway. It crashes when you’re loading a bunch of photos at once and it’s a huge waste of time.
The best photo sharing app for families
We love Tinybeans! We downloaded it because we wanted to share photos of our son and we were hesitant to "over-share" on social media. We also wanted a way for grandparents who aren't active on social media to see pictures. It's such a simple, private and user-friendly way to share photos with family and friends. We especially love the month-in-review collage and the option to create a book with the photos. Our family and friends love that they can see pictures via the email updates or within the app. It's been so much fun to be able to share moments from each day with the people we care about most!
My how the mighty have fallen
In the most recent upgrade they removed picture captions from the upload page (which means you have to add them after you upload) and removed the dates from your pictures so when you’re uploading you can’t tell what day your picture was taken. It’s made the app so cumbersome I’m considering canceling my subscription. I hope they will fix this soon because I’ve loved Tiny Beans for the past 8 years!
Premium without upgrade
I’ve paid for premium. Never got benefits. FAQ include this problem which put me off. Why would that be a FAQ? I followed instructions to fix. Not fixed. I don’t like when my lack of time costs me money. I have to find the time now to contact. I feel that I should be refunded for poor app function or whatever it is. I believe my daughter has had the features but I have not. Definitely not self explanatory. Difficult to figure out and troubleshoot. I don’t recommend
Awesome app but I do have a suggestion.
Love the app now using it for 4 years. Would be a really cool idea to be able to make a profile than can only view pictures on the account. Can't add anything, can't comment...just look. I would love for my lil guy to be able to explore his memories once in a while. Keep up the great work.
Glorified safari skin
It’s no secret most apps are basically modded browsers. TinyBeans implementation is about as lazily average as you can get. Like when you click on support it brings you to their site support pages, but then you aren’t logged in and so the authentication loop begins. Also, if tinybeans is emailing my family and friends every week with images of my kids referenced from their server, it ain’t secure - anyone can see the photos. Finally - and this was the big one for me - when the March 25 newsletter’s lead article is “An Astro Compatibility Chart for Kids & Parents” and they didn’t respond to my repeated inquiries asking if this was an early April fools joke, despite claims that they are a customer responsive company. tinybeans doesn’t deserve my money. EDIT: three years since I requested and received confirmation that my account and data were deleted, there are still pictures of my kid available on their site.
6 years & 3 Babies Later
I truly love this app. We’re a military family and have moved every 2 years, including an overseas move. Staying connected to family is the most important thing for me and this app helps that tremendously! I also love having the memories pop up. The only thing is that for close to a year it has been glitching and no longer lets me select which child is in the photos I select to upload. So I haven’t had that feature and no matter how many times I’ve uninstalled and installed it again it won’t work. Overall love the app but would love for that to be fixed!
Obsessive Notifications!
Love the app, hate that the company sends constant notifications asking for pictures to be uploaded. No one wants emails every day!
Going downhill
Used to love this app. Expected the experience to at least stay the same and not degrade when the price increased to almost double. Since then we have had weekly issues with the app. Most recently, more than once a week, we are unable to upload photos because they all show as back in the preview.
Happily using for 9+ years!
We’ve been using Tinybeans for almost 10 years now and are thankful for the organized space to hold and share our memories. They have been very helpful anytime we’ve had hiccups.
No longer free
No notice to my email or on the app it would no longer be free. Log in today and have to pay. So disappointed. Edit: My MIL paid for a year and repaid when it was up a few months ago and there must have been an upgrade and bumped me down to the free plan out of nowhere when we paid for the year plan. Can I rate below 1 star? Update -1000 stars as I went to find a specific memory that I downloaded here as my main storage app years ago when my kids were babies and you now have to pay to see your old memories you downloaded when it was free and when my MIL paid for a few years. Insane. I need to pa to get my previous memories back. 🤬😡
Great Alternative to fb
TB allows you to keep your inner family and friends up to date on your baby's progress. Especially great for newborns. Not sure why many of the tracking is linked to me AND not linked to me?
New update sucks
The new update sucks. I can’t tell what date i took the most recent pics i want to upload until after i choose them.
Glitchy
Great app we have been using for almost 8 years but lately it has been so glitchy. I reached out to customer service for trouble shooting and they told me to re-download the app. I have done so a couple times and it is still not helping the glitches! I miss the old app.
Updated Review
Update as of 2026 They have made some major updates and things are so much better. I am so glad I stuck it out, because this really is the best app. Now that I don’t have uploading issues, I have no complaints. Since they worked on the changes, they even reached out to me checking in because I had sent so many emails about the struggles to support. I appreciated that. It’s much easier to upload photos. There’s now a status bar that shows how many have been uploaded. There are better features like making a photo just private to you and your other account owner. There are some newer features I haven’t tried out yet, but will be cool. These updates also make me feel better about the cost. Now I can confidently say, if you want a safe place to share photos with family and close friends, look no further- this is it! I’m so sad because honestly, this should be the best photo sharing app out there but there are just too many problems with it. I swear every 6 months I have a huge issue that I have to email support about. They say we’re working on it, which they are and they do eventually fix most of it, but it’s so frustrating. There shouldn’t be issues uploading, that’s what this whole app is for. I spend a lot of time writing captions and uploading photos and too often it just stops and everything I did for that day is lost. We are tired parents, we don’t need to add difficult things to our lives. Not even to mention the outrageous cost. If I wasn’t already so invested I would run far, far away from this app. I can’t say I will continue to pay the fee, it’s way too expensive and then on top of that to have problems so often is just not worth it. I’m sad to say it, but keep looking. This is not the app you want.
No support
I paid for a subscription but the app is limiting my posts. I’ve reached out to their “support” twice and received no help.
Great app. Too many adds
We pay annually for this app and we love it. It’s perfect for sharing your kids with your family and friends without posting the online. My Family members love getting daily emails with the kids photos and I love the archive of photos and memories. I love seeing flashbacks and remembering cute photos/moments I have forgotten about. 4stars because we pay a good amount annually and the new rearrangement of the app focuses of ads and the store and less on your photos and interacting with family comments. It seems like every year the app moves a bit further away from its original intention.
New update stinks
New update is awful. So hard to navigate. Did anyone QA this at all?
Slow app support response
Since the birth of my first grandchild, my daughter has been posting pictures of my now grandchildren daily. It has been great to be able to share the children’s growth with family and friends across the globe. Their great grandmother used to look at Tinybeans every night before she went to sleep. Last week, without any notification, my daughter was not able to upload pictures. Tinybeans was contacted and after 5 days the issue is still not resolved. The platform needs to do better on issue remediation.
Safe place to store memories
Tinybeans has, without exaggeration, changed our family for the better. We’re able to look back on 9+ years of wonderful memories and pictures. The app is user-friendly and secure, so I feel safe sharing my children’s photos and videos with loved ones. Thank you, Tinybeans. 💜
THIS IS A SCAM
We've been using Tiny Beans for a few years. It is a service that allows us to upload photos of our kids, and it then organizes them by date. It also allows us to share photos with our extended family like a private social media page. We have honestly loved it though it is really just a private facebook page at best. We've had a premium membership for a year or two which was $40 per year. However, they just announced a price hike to $75 per year. Not wanting to pay the higher price, my wife and I decided to cancel. THIS IS WHERE THE FRUSTRATION STARTS. The cancellation page is easy to find, however, when you hit cancel subscription, there is a pop up offer for a discount to get you to stay. The options are "Send me the offer!" or "Cancel Subscription". Neither button works. Frustrated, I look for payment options to try and delete my credit card from the account. No visibility for the card on the account. Even payment history just has XXXX instead of the card number. There isn't even an option to swap to a new card. So I look for a phone number on the page to call. No phone number. No readily available email, though I did eventually dig one up. Our renewal date is in a week, and I have no recourse to stop the payment other than cancelling my credit card. Do not subscribe to Tinybeans! If you do, do it through the Apple App Store or Google Play so that cancellation is streamlined. It was a great service that we have recommended to friends in the past, but now it seems like a scam site. I believe they came under new ownership during the time that we have had them. Stay away!
Love the app, love the concept, but still seems like this company has put monetization above all
Have been a Tinybeans user for 6 years now. Love the concept, love the app. Developers made a quick correction to the forced pop up ad asking you to turn on notifications every time you launch the app. Which is great. But we have so much of our kids memories here that the subscription fee seems both perpetual and inevitable. It’s a good product, just can’t decide if it’s really worth the price or just another fee in a world of subscriptions
New GUI
The newest GUI removed the ability to see the date of the pics when uploading, captions must be made with very small pictures (hard to see which was which), and the upload button seems to have disappeared unless you do this silly dance of canceling and uploading again. Please take it back a revision for ease in use.
It’s as buggy as Australia
The $100 price tag would be fine IF the app worked. There are waaaay too many bugs to warrant the price tag now. We have nearly 10 years of data in TinyBeans so we’re not going anywhere, but if you’re new, I’d look around for something more stable. 1. Scroll doesn’t work, it skips images. 2. Caption screen doesn’t scroll as you type 3. Captions are cut short without the ability to scroll 4. Some features are country specific so you’re paying for something you can’t get 5. Customer service response time is 10-30 days 6. Uploading is unstable so you sometimes have to close the app and load photos one at a time 7. Spellcheck doesn’t work when typing captions
10+ years of memories
I’ve been using this app for 10 years. It’s been a great way to keep my kids off social media while still sharing with close family. I love how easy it is to find memories! It’s even been helpful at doctors visits when I ended up in the hospital with one of my kids and was able to document the day to day to report later to my doctors!
Great app till it’s not
I have used this service for 7 years, and every year the quality goes down. Now the free plan is so restrictive that I’m locked out of my account. I tried to upgrade and they happily take the payment but don’t actually give me access to my photos. One year they charged me for the same service twice and balked when I asked for a refund. Great idea, poor execution, questionable business practices. There are better options, at least for now.
Overall a good app
We have been using Tinybeans for close to 7 years. I have posted every day. Lately (several months now) the app glitches. It glitches at different points too. Sometimes it’s when I go to select photos to login. Sometimes it’s once I have selected photos and then waiting to write the caption and sometimes it is when you’re actually trying to upload. It is frustrating especially since I pay the annual membership fee. Please get your teams to update the app.
Not impressed so far
This app is very frustrating to use by grandparents, who are already not necessarily adept at apps on phones and other devices. I do not want to see adds and it is constantly showing them, but the only way around seeing them is to buy a subscription. And if you are just trying follow your new grandchild, I don’t think requiring a $75 subscription to avoid ads is a viable solution, at least not in our budget. It’s great for the company though! That is why I am giving this app two stars.

Great app but pricey
I love this app. I have been using it for 4 years now. It is easy to use. I love that I am able to share photos in a safe way to friends and family that live further away but do not have social media. The only downside is the price. I find it expensive now.
iPad App is Unusable with Keyboards
Hello! Just checking in to see when landscape mode may be available on the TB iPad app. I would really like to use my iPad Pro keyboard. Thanks! Still waiting on landscape mode on iPad, and it would be nice to be able to scroll faster when adding photos many months in the past.
Shocked at the subscription price increase!
I was already shocked when it went from free to $56.99 pa but to now jump up to $74.99 pa is MASSIVE!! Not sure I can continue to justify using it at this price 😳
Best app for parents!
I love Tinybeans! And extended family does too! I love how easy it is to share our photos and memories with family and close friends near and far. I’m told how much my grandparents love seeing so many pictures of their great grand babies, every single time I talk to them. It’s a great app and I have enjoyed using it for the last 17 months! (Also, premium is worth it if you’re on the fence about that!) Edit to add: we’ve been using tiny beans nearly daily for a little over 8 years now, it’s become really fun for my kids to get to look back at themselves on any specific day in years past! Thankful for this resource to safely share our kids with family that lives far away!
No one can figure it out
I know the Elderly are bad at technology. But half the people I invite get an email with a password and when they open the app they are promoted to enter the password and boom they’re connected. The other half end up on their own island completely disconnected from our family’s page and I have no way to help them as their experience is radically different from that of my own. The developers have to understand for parents trying to share pictures but protect their children we are already inconveniencing our confused and elderly loved ones. It needs to be so user friendly an 80 year old can do it.
This is a great app but needs to have a few more features.
This app is amazing for sharing photos and videos to family. I do wish for there to be a feature that we can restrict other family members from downloading content. I also wish there was a view count on videos. Other than that it’s pretty easy to use.
Incredibly ANNOYING!
Constant nagging to “add to my Tinybeans” drives me insane! I DON’T HAVE A TINYBEANS OF MY OWN! I just use it to follow others’ kids who live far away!
Expensive and still get heaps of ads and app bugs
Not really happy and won’t be renewing. It’s very expensive for an average user experience, regular bugs /app crashes and what bothers me the most is that we’re paying for a supposedly ‘ad free version’ but actually everyone but the account owner still sees ads! End product offering (if you wanted to print your photos, albums with commentary etc etc) is lacking and of poor quality.
5 year user w/ 3 kids
This app works great to share every day happenings with family and friends across the US without us having to worry about strangers having access to our children’s images.
Used to be great
This was the best app ever when I started using it in 2020. Totally free! Then they started charging. Understandable that at some point it would happen. The next year the price DOUBLED! So I opted for the free version with limited uploads. Now they say my storage is full and I can’t even see the photos I had or upload new ones. I definitely regret recommending this app to so many other moms.

Is there a way that noone can download photos except the one that created the album?
Can’t Share??
Been using tiny and for years and we love it for keeping memories of kids. But I can’t share memories anymore. When I click on share, a window pops up but it’s blank and I can’t go any further.
Memories order
The app is relatively intuitive and is constantly improving so my rating may change in the future. However, the two main drawbacks that made me give it three stars are: - the inability to easy go back by years or date - there’s a bug where the memories are not ordered in the order they are uploaded. They used to be, but now they seem to be randomly displayed regardless of the upload order or the photo time stamp.

It is evil capitalist garbage to suddenly require payment to access my own family photos. My family has been leaving photos and comments for years. Now they’re hidden until I pay. Absolutely sinister corporate nonsense. BEWARE!!
Ever since we started paying, it’s become very glitchy
The premise of the app is great. But it’s become very unstable in recent times. Update: Yet another one step forwards, two steps backwards with stability. (Sept 2023). Not sure who is doing any SIT or UAT… but they should be looking for a new job.
Product is useful; business practices are disappointing
The product is fine. It's not great, it does the bare minimum. The frustrating part is that the price will increase without any added benefit. And you receive ads in the app when you open it. I think I started paying $4.99/month, and now I pay $7.99 and I don't get anything more of value. And there's an ad that takes over the screen every time I open the application. I wish they'd have stuck with just having a solid product instead of trying to milk every possible penny from everyone.
Love the app, but pricing is… beyond confusing…
Can’t complain too much about what the app comes with. It’s well made and does exactly what we want to controlling share out of information, pictures and video of our kids. We started with the app back in 2018 when it was $20/yr. Good deal! Then it went to $50 in 2020. And now we’re told it’s going to $75 this year. So, I’m not sure where the $40/yr annual pricing comes from that they advertise in the app description, but we’ve been charged above that since 2020. Buyer beware…
