Excellent service
Même si s’adapter au système de location prend un certain temps, le service téléphonique est efficace et relativement rapide selon la période du jour. Depuis 2 ans que j’utilise ce service, je suis heureuse de ne plus avoir à payer un versement mensuel pour une voiture et l’assurance; surtout qu’avec Communauto je conduis des autos récentes, sans devoir faire le plein et c’est à proximité de chez-moi. Une super offre qui a beaucoup plus d’avantages que de payer pour sa propre voiture et d’avoir aussi à la… déneigée. Merci Communauto.
Dirty cars and bed bugs
The cars are extremely dirty and are never cleaned. The seats are black from body sweat. Be careful because, the cars are coming with bed bugs. We need to report this company to the better business bureau.
Communauté égale compromis
Il est évident que le service de Communauto n’est pas parfait, voiture pas très propre ou un peu mal en point, mais les prix sont vraiment compétitifs et la proximité des autos est géniale. Je n’ai pas besoin de marcher 20 minutes pour me rendre dans une agence de location. Les flex sont maintenant sur la Rive-Sud de Montréal et c’est très pratique, il reste seulement à élargir le service. Beaucoup de nouvelles autos depuis quelques mois, ça fait du bien.
Pricey
Uber is cheaper than car sharing.. That’s truly ridiculous..
Okay
The app is good but there are a few things that could be improved. Especially about pricing. They dont tell you beforehand that they will charge you extra fees, exemple for cancellation or modification of booking time. It would also be great if the stations were more “spaced?” because at some places there are MANY stations and others where there is only one. I understand that it is based on user usage but just having one station for a sector is really not enough because then if we live too far away, it can be bothersome. Also having more agents on the phone would be great to not have to wait in the cold for more than 15 min :). Anyways thats just a few things
DO NOT USE THIS APP
Everything will be fine for a while but I promise it'll turn sour FAST. If you dont want to pay hundreds in fines when it's not even your fault/responsability, if you want TRASH and disrespectful service client, then go ahead and suit yourself.
No choice of cars
Service quite smooth and ok. I’m disappointed that it doesn’t provide me with an option to choose which car given the period and the carpark, while I’m sure that there are like 4 cars there which have not been reserved. It just assigns whatever it wants to, randomly.
In english only #speakwhite
Cela fait plusieurs mois que ça dure donc peu de chance que ce soit juste un bug. Je suis à Montréal et l’application n’est disponible que in English only. Il me semble que ce serait la moindre des choses que de respecter le fait que la langue officielle ici c’est le Français et pas autre chose.
Pls stay away, dont waste money
Pls stay away, dont waste your money. zero maintenance, very rare to find good vehicles. Even if we dont ride, once you start trip and vehicles gives trouble, they not even bother to refund your money. better to avoid and save money.
There is barely any real customer service, users are not a priority for this company.
I feel so disappointed with their customer services. They will never be on your side. Their reporting system is a mystery, you will never get a copy of your reports. Some cars are in bad shape and/or unclean. Be sure to report everything you notice on every car. Don’t rely on their obsolete report documentation on the globe compartment, nobody tracks that, save yourself from giving unexpected donations to communauto.
Great service, mediocre app
It seems odd that something as simple as push notifications aren’t enabled. The app preferences say “device permission” but there’s no slider to enable it, and Communauto doesn’t show in my list of apps under Notifications settings. Getting push notifications about service disruptions or vehicle blocks expiring, or even successful trip ending would be very helpful.

What needs to happen to make this work?
I use communauto a lot because the service itself is quite good and convenient when it works, but there’s so many things that can get in the way of it working. TWICE yesterday I walked 10 minutes to get a flex car only to find the car wasn’t there at all. The idea of this service is really wonderful and I recommend it to people all the time, but for some reason it seems the app itself is constantly an issue.
Need a Plan B
This is a great system until it’s not. Once things have gone sideways — there’s an outage, the car hasn’t shown up, etc. — Communauto staff don’t answer the phone, there’s no way to email or text, and you’re left in the dark.
Huh.
Use Leo instead.
Autos flex introuvable dans mon coin
C’est un service que je trouve super pour les gens qui habite à Montréal. Mais il n’y a jamais de flex disponible dans le secteur Ville-Marie, faudrait rééquilibrer la distribution des autos dans les différents secteurs
Lack of EVs
It’s a real shame that there are so few EVs available. Please lobby the federal government to remove the Chinese EV tariff and import the BYD cars. We need more EVs
Very Bad
Worst User Interface, it’s not clear where you can park and what to do if the car you reserved isn’t there. i will try the competitor Leo and see if it’s better. Those who’ve used seem to be happy and say the App tells them where to park the vehicle upon return
Issue with car locations
This app was okay months ago but now there is an obvious issue with the location of the cars. When I book one close to me, in fact, I booked a car kilometers away from me, definitively not where it appeared first on the map! It’s really annoying. Please fix this
Love the idea, hate their management
Been using it and I think it’s great. It helps a lot. A very good idea. Where I have a problem is how they are managing their locations. So far, they concentrate their cars in downtowns of big cities where there’s already more transit and commute services (buses, metro, trains, bixi, etc) but for those that live outside a downtown area, where there’s not as much transit services, we are left with the minimum. And we are the ones that need more to have cars closer to do the long distances to get downtown of a city. They have to do more studies to accommodates more their users.

The idea is great but the app is not, it’s doesn’t give you the ability to report your feedback after your trip ends , also sometimes the cars are in a bad shape
Terrible service
Filthy cars, no maintenance to the cars, terrible customer support. Not worth it, just buy a small car instead.

In recent months when booking a car nearby, then check it again you will find the car is far far away!!!
