We love this
The photo frame is terrific and the app is easy to use. Inviting others to add photos is a great feature that works well and is easy to do. Inviting others to add photos is a bit confusing at first because multiple connection options are available, but that was quickly solved. The whole setup was done in less than 30 minutes and we had photos loading right away- and some new ones almost every day.
Insane battery consumption and overheating
The app heats up my 14pro like nothing else becomes too hot to touch after 5 min of use and drains about 10% of battery. At a point where I no longer can add more photos because the app damages my phone. In addition can’t turn off Live Photos no matter what I do once I come back Live Photo is still enabled. Such a bad app for such an expensive product don’t buy and go for the cheaper versions!
Easy setup with suggestions
This was very easy to setup and get running in just a few minutes. My pictures on my phone already had captions and it would have been nice to import them.
Dark Patterns & Misleading Claims
The company advertises “Unlimited Photo Storage”, but deliberately left out any kind of photo management features in the application, to disincentivize actually using that storage. Anything over a couple hundred photos is a complete disorganized mess of files, with no way to filter out duplicates or organize.
Lots of reboots
I am having to unplug/ plug back in several times a week lately. Getting a “frame offline” message, yet nothing is wrong with my so-do. I really love this frame, but it’s become very frustrating

Ok, but many reboots
8/17/2026: latest bug, even though it’s on a 6AM wakeup it won’t unless I provide enough light. I’ve rebooted, so that’s not the issue. 8/8/26 update: Frame is still buggy, too many reboots/update checks. Plus now we notice sone videos stop loading & won’t play, or just don’t load. And many recent uploaded photos and reels never show up. It’s been entertaining, BUT it reboots too many times during the day. Very annoying. Why check for updates everyday, multiple times each day. You folks control the feed, so why not SEND an update when available? And, IT IS NOT A WIFI OR NETWORK ISSUE! Everything else connected to our network works fine!
Super buggy…
Have issues with photos repeatedly shown while many are never shown. Positioning photos doesn’t always save the first time or at all. Turning off live mode on photos doesn’t work. App doesn’t always show the correct photo that is currently on the frame.

Photo lock up on screen
Basically I bought the Aura to see pictures. Over the last couple of weeks the pictures come up but lock up and I have to pull the plug to reset the Aura. I contacted Aura by email and they said they would reset my Aura hopefully solving the problem, and it didn’t. I would like to talk to a representative hopefully solve this problem. Based on my current issue I can’t refer Aura to any of my friends or associate.
Pretty good
Would love to have ability to group photos into folders and then hide the whole folder from displaying… and switch folders. Doing it picture by picture it too much. For instance… my aunts birthday id coming up. I’d like to remove all the photos for the day and just have a special bday photo message display.
Audio Unmute
It is unbelievable that I have to get up from my chair and physically touch the frame to head frame audio! For such a good device, this is a show stopper. It is super annoying and inconvenient that you can’t do this from the app!
Great but swiping through troubles
This has been such a great app for years but the one bug that I’m surprised still hasn’t been fixed is the inability to swipe between photos without exiting out from the current phone you’re looking at. Sometimes I like to go through and look at peoples uploads and zoom in but I have to click out of every photo. Everything else is great.
Family Connection
It is a great way for our family to stay connected even with life being so busy. Easy to use!
Never Saw New Photos
I have over 1000 photos and keep on adding new, But the frame keep showing same old pictures every day, even I have selected shuffle photos. According to Shuffle settings it should show new photos but it still shows same old photos every day. Many users are complaining about this. Not sure when Aura support fix the issue. Other things I need to add. There is no option to always stay on. Due to this I do t recommend Aura Frames.
Aura app, good enough
The Aura Frames app works surprisingly well. I like that the app is fairly easy to learn and navigate, even without reading any instructions. There is one minor improvement that I’d like to see. When I select the current frame (the device itself), can Aura please tell us the model (version) of the physical frame? This may come in handy if a household has MULTIPLE frames running. Which frame is which? Am about to uload to the small 10” frame? Or is it the big 15” frame? Aura, please identify the frame in question.
App ALWAYS crashes
I always make sure the app and everything are up to date yet no matter what it ALWAYS crashes 5 seconds after the app loading! So annoying makes me not even want to upload photos anymore🙄
In Slideshow button does not work
When the “In Slideshow” button is deactivated (gray, not green), the photo is still shown in the slide sequence.

We don’t need “automatically positions your photos to fill the display when possible, while ensuring the people who matter always fit the frame.” Put one on/off let us choose if need is really difficult???
Awesome photo frame
A wonderful gift for my daughter. I love the pictures automatically scrolling daily and I have to get up many times to figure out what I’m looking at because it’s been so many years since I saw this particular photo. It’s wonderful to re-remind me of all the wonderful times I’ve had in my life.

Lots of odd behavior and bugs when utilizing Google Photos.
Don’t like how random photo selection works
I was so excited about this present, I still think that, but I can’t believe that shuffle mood works so bad, why from 500 pictures I see the same 50. Yes I tried switching those moods and it helps a bit, but that’s not how it should work. I hope your QA will see this message and we will get those bugs fixed.

Loading sometimes they do not load.
Disappointed
Randomly stopped working. No matter how many times I add pictures they disappear. People get alerts there are new pics in the frame, but when they go to view they’re gone.
Adore the frame!
I absolutely love the frame that I have gifted to my parents. They get such a kick out of looking through the thousands of pictures we have shared with them. My biggest complaint is the iPhone widget. You’ll see a picture that you want to see and your instinct is to tap to open it up full screen, but it doesn’t open that picture, it just opens into the app. And since, as I said thousands of pictures, you have to browse forever and ever to find the one that you wanted to see.
Wouldn’t have bought for myself or anyone I actually like
Too intrusive. No way to opt out of email is illegal in my state. Photos don’t use whole screen.
Poor randomization
The app works OK don’t have a problem with that but it doesn’t randomize very well. We have hundreds and hundreds of photos on our aura yet keep seeing the same 30 or 40 photos over and over.
Love the app and caption feature
If I can be fussy, I would love the same ‘add caption feature’ from my phone’s photo share flow. It’s just so much quicker to send my photos to Aura frame from Photos app. And how about suggestive tags to help add captions?

I’m trying to get some photos that I got for my grandpa. He sent me an invite but no matter how much I sign in no matter what I do it will not let me see any of the photos that I want to.
Doesn’t play all photos
I love the frame and the ability to share with family. We’re having trouble seeing all the photos. Seems like we see the same ones over & over. Tried both sort selections, chronological & shuffle and really don’t see a difference in seeing the same ones. What else can I do?
Photos being ruined and really obvious functions missing
These frames would be 5* in my view if these obvious functions were present. I’ve given 2* because many of my photos are being ruined by the lack of this functionality and auto-cropping (outlined below) that I find staggering was not considered in the original design/concept of the frames. I purchased a Walden and an Aspen frame for my family for Christmas for £438. I like the frames in terms of how they look, how well they are made and the quality of the display. However…had I known about the issues I will outline below I would not have purchased them. - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can you introduce an option to TURN OFF AUTO-CROPPING. If a photo’s aspect ratio does not match that of the frame Aura will automatically crop your photo, but it does this by focussing on what it thinks is the best or most important part of your photo, for example a face. As the photographer why do I not get to decide on what the composition of the photo should be?! If I wanted a photo zoomed in on a face then I would have taken it like this. Why can’t the photos just be displayed as they were originally intended, leaving a black or blurred border to fill in the gap if the aspect ratio doesn’t match? It does this as well on portrait photos if the frame is positioned landscape, it will just chop out a huge amount of the photo to make it landscape. Going through my albums I have uploaded I am finding something in the region of 75% of my photos have been cropped/altered in some way, many of them really badly and focussing on a tiny part of the photo. There is a way around this in that you can manually adjust the fit of each photo, but this has to be done on every individual photo and on each frame. I currently have about 1000 photos uploaded to both frames (and there’s more I want to upload), so that’s 2000 photos to manually edit which would take hours!!!. A simple toggle in the menu to turn on/off auto-cropping would completely fix this. I’m really really surprised this isn’t already available as it’s so obvious and fundamental a function for a picture frame (‘would you like your photos edited or displayed as you took them yes/no’) - I like that videos can be uploaded and auto-play but I find this doesn’t work well for Live Photos. The playback is blurred/poor quality for some reason and nowhere near the quality on the original device. Again a simple option in the menus to turn off playback of Live Photos would be really useful. People often take photos now using a live function but within this you get displayed an initial still photo. It’s only when you press on the photo does it become ‘live’. It would be nice to be able to display the photo as it appears in your album ie the still.
Could be better
The frame itself is so good that there are four in our family. But that’s where the failings of the app become apparent. It’s far too difficult to manage content on the frame. With three other family members uploading content to my frame, the volume of images becomes unmanageable. A simple fix would be to be able to delete batches of images by upload and not just by imported album. Better still would be batch download of content sent by other group members so that it can be sorted in a photo management app and fed to the frame in a more organised way. It would also help if the app worked with other photo apps or simple folders, and not just Apple and Google Photos.
Family, near and far
My son’s family gifted us the Aura Frame. We have had digital frames before, but never like this one. The look is nice and simple to make the photos stand out. I bought a frame for my son’s home and my mother has a frame. We can add photos and I can see my granddaughters grow in each of the photos. So, being far away is easier to tolerate when I can see their lives unfold. It is the best gift for family, near and far.

Having an issue with it syncing all favorites and can’t figure out how to cancel it.
Great Screen
I absolutely love this photo frame. I have two Nixplay and this one Aura screen. Aura beats Nixplay significantly. The only change/add I would love to see is the option of 5 & 10 second timing between pictures. The least amount offered is 15 seconds and that’s too long for us. That’s the only thing that Nixplay has over the Aura. Please add and make this girl happy!!!

It worked fine for couple months and then it stoped! Months later a friend visited me and tried to fix it but he had to reset and lost all the loaded pictures!???
Can’t run the same pictures on different frames at the same time
Didn’t work no matter how much i tried and ended up creating different accounts for each frame and adding content is such an admin doing everything 3x

Customer service
I had my serial number and just wanted my model number (wasn’t home). Could only talk to a real person if I paid for the privilege. That’s not good customer service. It’s too bad because I love my frame. Will look elsewhere for a gift for my son.
Easy to use - needs one adjustment
I purchased this frame for my family and enjoy the look and functionality of the frame itself. The app is great to be able to upload photos straight from my phone. However I desperately need the ability to sort the photos in the app by date, as there’s no way to see duplicate photos if they are added at different times.

Initially all good, preloaded lots of photos for family far away to enjoy. Started adding more recently straight from the photos app only to learn from family that they haven’t shown up? And go to the app to try and upload them that way but lo and behold, it crashes every single time. Useless - renders the gift pointless

Very happy with it but seems a fairly basic miss in not providing ability to maintain and swap Albums.
Enjoying it
My wife has moderate Alzheimers. I bought the larger size so she can watch the family and friends pictures, some going back to childhood from across the room. Luv that we get auto pic updates about kids, grans and greatgrans.
Love the frame, HATE the app
App constantly shuts down while I’m in the middle of using it and then I have to start over. Auto-add doesn’t work. I wish the computer interface was more robust so I could completely avoid this lousy app.
Manual brightness adjustment
The frame itself is awesome. The brightness ruins everything though. The app or frame should let us adjust the intensity. I have to stick a black tape to decrease photons to the sensor. It’s crazy my 15 yo tv can be manually adjusted and this brand new tech can’t.
Fine but no transition options
Everything is fine, but the side-swipe transition is the only option; hugely disappointing. This seems like an extremely basic and easy fix (to allow merge/fade etc)
