Finally have it all together!
I put off buying the Skylight for a couple of years because I’m not super techy…love my paper calendar and dry erase menu board, don’t love the calendar on my iPhone or Google. However, my hubby told me to give it a try and I’m so glad I did! It has streamlined our lives! All my teen kids being able to simply import their game and work schedules, I add what’s for dinner and check my lists from everywhere I go, and the tasks/chores has really motivated them…and me! Not sure how I remembered anything before using this. And it’s pretty in the kitchen, and not too bulky. I’m in love!

Worst app ever it asked where I live and and asked if I I had a girlfriend and when I said no it said yea checks out for such a ugly guy like you and said bad stuff about my mama
Skylight Calendar Off
I am not sure who to go through for this but my calendar is off. On the calendar, it says September 1st for August 1st until you click on it. The day pops up with August 1st. For September, it is the same. It says Oct 1st and when you hit “Today” at the top, it goes to July 31st not August 31st. I tried restarting it, made sure it was up to date, clearing it, it won’t fix.
Charges an extra $80 a year to have a screen saver
While I like this calendar this company nickle and dimes you with things that should be included with purchase. It shouldn’t cost $79 a year to have a screen saver on our calendar that’s ridiculous. We were able to find a similar product that didn’t charge a yearly fee so I highly recommend shopping around before buying this calendar as your costs will be forever ongoing

After the update my 13 year old cant get in to check her schedule because it is 16+ other side love the app gave my family a break from writing everything in a small box on paper

Great replacement to the iCal
Since we got our Skylight mounted on the wall, we use it every day multiple times a day. Super easy to import from emails or flyers from school to update for events and birthday parties. I use the widget on my iPhone regularly. The only problem that I’ve seen and the only reason why I don’t give it a five star is because when I go to schedule an appointment that is more than two months ahead I cant find if that’s even possible to search that far ahead.
App functionality for calendar and tasks
App seems to have lost the ability to assign an “up for grabs” task when marking complete.
Age restrictions on app
| love almost everything about Skylight-the functionality is fantastic, the in-home calendar view is exactly what our family needed, and I love being able to assign each child their own calendar, and make updates through the email settings. It has genuinely made managing our busy household so much easier. My one major complaint is that i can't share app access with my kids under 16 so they can view and manage the family calendar when they aren't home. I have kids who are 9, 14, and 17, and they're absolutely old enough to need access to their own schedules and see where everyone needs to be. For a product designed specifically around family organization, this feels like a pretty significant flaw in development. Otherwise, love, love, love it-just please give younger family members an appropriate way to access the app!

Great Idea. App is just awful, though.
I can’t begin to describe the frustration with trying to use this app. I have 3 kids. I need to duplicate some tasks from one to the other, but there is no way to copy/paste a task or assign to multiple kids UNLESS you thought ahead to do it when adding the task the first time. After you’ve created the task, there’s no adding multiple assignees. It’s such a weird design choice. Not intuitive at all. Also, it’s a lot of tap .. and wait .. tap .. and wait. Not very responsive at all. Plus, the longer you use the app, the slower it gets. Eventually you have to kill it and start over, only to find that some of the settings you had saved were not actually saved! Like I had set a chore to be due at 5:30pm, but when I restarted it was set to 5:22pm. I suppose this was due to the laggy display update. Tried using on my mac.. crashes when picking an emoji for a task. If you make changes to a task and then switch its type from Routine to Chore (or vice versa) you lose all your changes and have to start enough. Ultimately, getting this thing set up and configured prior to setting the kids loose on it to actually use it is a nightmare. It’s easy enough for them to tap off the stuff they do, but it’s a pure terror to administer. This thing is desperately in need of a proper admin UI.
I love it, but
Living solo I don’t need Up For Grabs beside my Tasks on my display. Would like to be able to keep the Tasks the same width and increase the Calendar width. For me when Calendar only is displayed month with today’s appointments beside it 1/2 and 1/2 it would be nice to have calendar 1/2 , today’s appointments 1/4 and tasks 1/4. Skylight has been a blessing to me!!
No screensaver schedule
The lack of an option to schedule the photo screensaver is honestly a deal breaker for me. The whole point of the Skylight Calendar is to have the family schedule visible at a glance, especially in the morning and evening when everyone is coming and going. Having the calendar hidden behind a photo screensaver defeats that purpose. A simple feature allowing users to schedule when the screensaver is active or when the calendar should remain visible would make a huge difference. Until that’s available, it really limits the usefulness of an otherwise great product.
Fix Calendar
I really enjoy the calendar, but the latest update does not allow the calendar to go past the month of June. Please fix this bug. I have updated software on my iPhone and the app is also updated. I had also restarted my phone and it still does not work. Please fix ASAP.
Great Product
I love this product. I love how you can use the app and add things to your calendar anytime you want from anywhere you want. I especially love the fact that you can add pictures to your calendar so it’s like having an electronic photo album!!!
Bait and switch
I bought this (not inexpensive!!!) digital calendar thinking that the features they advertised would be included. Now all of a sudden basic features like a photo screensaver and adding recipes are part of a subscription. I’m so over the subscription model. Give me a product I can buy once and use for life. No way I’m paying for features I ALREADY BOUGHT when I purchased this product.
Skylight app
It was very helpful for me and my family to organize plans and make planning easier, but the fact that you have to be 16+ years old to access a calendar app scares me. It says family friendly and helpful for families, when if you have to be at least 16 your kids will be moving out soon so what’s the point of having a calendar for families that aren’t gonna even live together anymore! Love you all byeeeeeeee💕😁✨
Latest update broke the grocery list
I’m liking this app a lot, but the latest update broke the grocery list. There’s an organize button that used to sort all the items you added into grocery aisles. This is a crucial feature for me but now it no longer works. You click the button, it tells you what category each item belongs in, but then nothing changes and the list is still an unorganized mess.
Love the calendar missing features for Canadians!
Love the calendar, and I’ve had it for 2 years however major miss on the addition of Canadian Holidays!!! I keep waiting for this update but never happened. The idea of having to sync another calendar from an email when the entire purpose of this calendar for me is not to do that, is very annoying. I miss out on major holidays when glancing at the month because they aren’t automatically in there. I pay the annual subscription as any other user, the holidays of my country should also be included. Thank you!
Worth it!
Our best purchase for the organization! The AI needs work but I can get by without it.
NOW SADLY YOU CANNOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE FRAME WITHOUT A SUBSCRIPTION!
It’s crazy what they do now! It didn’t require any subscription from the start when I purchased it, but now sadly everything changed, frame will require subscription, you can’t have access to your pictures anymore unless you subscribe. Be careful and don’t waist so much money on it! I would never buy it, if I knew that they would charge me every year for just using the frame. You are better off just getting a regular electronic frame.
Worthwhile Investment
I debated about getting the skylight calendar for over 1 year. I am so glad that I made the investment. It helps not only my LO but also me. The app can be a bit buggy at times but it’s still worth it. I do wish o could upload more than just 20 photos
Slow and unresponsive
Every time I try to use this app it’s so slow and unresponsive, especially when uploading photos!
Missing Key Feature
Please add the ability to be notified when an event has been manually added to the calendar.
Great way to stay organized!
I love my skylight and the app. I can easily add events for my family, color code them and keep everyone organized. Everything transfers from the app to the actual screen and my family loves seeing what’s planned on any given day. The app is very user friendly.
Uploading photos always crashes
Incredibly irritating. You used to be able to upload a lot of photos at once, but that would crash it. They must have seen that and then limited to only 20. Annoying, but can get around that with patience, right? Wrong. After the first upload of 20 after the photos are there, now it says I need to give it permission to my photo library (even though it has full permissions). Please please fix this terrible experience. Takes all the fun of this frame away every time I have to upload photos to it.

I bought the screen tablet calendar, then downloaded the app. The app is really laggy and definitely needs to be reworked. I love using the google and apple canlender so you should just copy that to make it easier and intuitive.

Great piece of kit, love the calendar, the rewards charts etc… 2 downsides the number of stars is limited to 50 and the app keeps Crashing so I have to keep logging back in which is just a bit annoying
Terrific for home management!
This lets me off load the info that lives in my head about managing the home. Everyone can see what needs to be done. Everyone can see the schedule. Everyone knows the plans for meals.
Sub par
I've been trying for hours to add photos to my screensaver and it constantly crashes... even if I only import 5 photos from my phone, it take forever to upload or the app closes. It's sooooooo slow even to navigate the other functions. The subscription is not worth it imo
Great calendar
So many options. I love the colour coding and meal planning and list options.
Brilliant but not flawless
The calendar itself is fantastic - the whole family can see at a glance what’s happening, and I love being able to send important dates that have been emailed to me, directly to the calendar. I subscribed to the extra services, and use the chore list and reward system with my 11 year old, to try and motivate her into being a little bit more helpful around the house - and it works! What I dislike, however, is the app functionality. I mostly use it for meal planning, but find that when I scroll through the week the meals that I have assigned to certain days disappear. I either have to refresh or restart the app, but it isn’t a guarantee that it will work. Until this feature is fixed, I am unable to give the app a higher rating.
App keeps crashing
The app keeps crashing when I select the calendar and then go to change the week that is being viewed. I can’t see how to notify this as an issue, hence the review.
Absolutely a Game Changer for Large Family
I have a family of 6 and absolutely was losing my mind before finally trying out skylight a while ago. Since then I organize my college, school events, church events, and my work and my husband’s. Sometimes the app can be slow when I check off tasks or add them, but overall I love meal planning, calendars, countdowns, and more! My kids love the stars
Hardware you own, features you rent.
Skylight openly lists photo screensaver mode as a “premium” subscription feature. Read that again, displaying your own photos on the device screen you already purchased requires an ongoing subscription. Not an advanced feature. Just basic photo display functionality on a device built around a large screen. The product itself is nice, but locking something this fundamental behind a recurring fee feels incredibly consumer-unfriendly and is something buyers should absolutely know before purchasing.
Games and both devices
First I personally love the skylight it is super helpful but you can only add stars on the phone app not the real thing. Second I think you should add games to both devices just to play around and stuff
Inconsistent
Rarely works consistently when uploading photos. I have a frame and purchased two more as gifts. When attempting to load photos on to the new frames, the app crashes, photos aren’t synced properly and the whole experience is horrendously painful. Shame, improve the app stability and reliability - take away the greedy paywall and it would be a much better product overall.
Refresh rate
This desperately needs a “refresh” button. Only 3* as the info from my iCloud calendar is super slow to update if at all!

Poor App
Very difficult to load photos in the first place. To make things worse, after the latest "upgrade" the app doesnt even open and gives an error and closes. Wake up Skylight developers!

Excellent calendar app- just wish it had a copy/ paste function for events
I love that I can sync my families random sports/ school and work schedules to this calendar and all the other functional benefits that come with it. Only thing missing to make my life easier would be a copy/ paste function for calendar events that aren’t necessarily repeating with any consistency that makes sense to use the repeats function. Otherwise, amazing app!!
Doodle function
Just wanted to let you know the doodle function on the app doesn’t work. Everytime we try to use it, it freezes and we have to restart the app.
