Don’t download
I had high hopes for this app but looks like it’s been abandoned. Lots of major bugs that are central to its brand promise (like that you can connect it to different apps but that doesn’t work), and no one answers their customer service emails. I’ve tried for months and am past the window Apple allows now for refunds so I bought a year of access for something I never use. Super disappointed. Don’t bother downloading! Waste of money.
PLEASE HELP fix this bug and remove the corrupted drafts
I’m a Premium user running Momento 3.6.5 on my iPhone 17 Pro Max (iOS 26.5.1). I wrote a long journal entry a month ago, but it failed to save properly and got stuck as a draft. Now I cannot open or delete it — the app crashes immediately whenever I tap on these broken drafts. I’ve tried common troubleshooting steps already: force-quitting the app, restarting my phone, and updating iOS twice, but none worked. The app hasn’t received updates for quite a while either.
Can’t move data to new phone

Share feature update please
I need the ability to share when I’m in a journal entry. All that comes up is instagram can you change it to automatically be share goes to iMessage??? Thanks
Consistently Good for 8+ Years
I’m a real reviewer. Momento is such an easy to you and amazing app that becomes some what of a library of (in my case) revelations, insights, dreams…. The way the app is structured is really helpful. The free version is seriously good, however after reading the notes about the small development team in England that created this and the integrity the note seemed to convey that they honor I signed up for the annual subscription. I know that it will only enhances my already good experience. I remember one time a few years ago for some reason I lost all of the journal entries and I hadn’t yet exported a back up copy from the app. I was so sad about this and in shock, I messaged the developers and I for sure prayed and seriously, I think 2 weeks later, all of the entries were restored and for years since the app has been amazing. I especially like that there no outside sales ads!! Happy user here, who has recommended this app to others who also seem to be happy with it. Worth the paid subscription- in part just because of the awesome team behind this alone. You can tell heart and determination went into this.
Don’t bother
Too bad. Used to work ok. Then Facebook feeds stopped. Now there’s no tech support. I switched to Day One. Wow. So much better!
Feed issues
Been using this app for a long time. Overall great app. Been having issues more frequently with connecting Swarm feed to the app. I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting multiple times but still hasn’t worked for a good while now.
Monthly Subscription
I have used this app for years and really enjoyed it but now features are behind a paywall. If it was a one-time purchase I’d understand and happily pay but I’m not going to subscribe monthly or annually. This isn’t Netflix. I’m uninstalling after I leave this review.
Momento
I liked this app and deleted it. There’s a huge flaw with it. People have different ways of journaling. Sometimes you feel like removing a large number of entries at the same time. This app does not allow you to select a group of journal entries and delete them. It seems like a big mistake on behalf of the app creators. No one wants to go and delete one journal entry after another. Besides that, I loved the app. I loved that there wasn’t AI interfering with my writing and giving feedback; it was just a place to document thoughts. It’s a journal - not a therapist who responds to what you say. If they fix that issue, I’d gladly give it five stars. But that issue is so annoying that I got fed up with Momento and wrote this review.

Cannot export data
I’ve been using this app for a long time and I like it except that I can’t export my years worth of data, so I am always afraid I am going to lose all my entries. There is supposed to be a way to export files, but I always get an error message and customer service has never responded when I’ve reached out (multiple times). Without a solid way to save my files, the rest of the features on the app feel like they don’t matter.

It is easy to write a note and find the note that I wrote before. But remember to give a accurate title.
Was the best app ever
I have had this app for a few years and absolutely loved it. Even paid the upgrade to support the developers. They have gone through an upgrade of sort and now I can’t lock the app- which as I use it as a diary- is an important feature and one that is a benefit of the premium membership I paid for. Most annoying is the lack of response from customer service as I have written- waited and waited for a reply so it can be fixed. Nothing worse then no response.
Good app, needs work.
So I sprung for the paid version, the annoyances got to be too much. At first I stumbled around with things like ‘location’ until I figured out you need to click on ‘Current Location’ to search other areas (seems clunky). The whole process of attaching photos is still a bit confusing… deciding to keep existing photo info OR inherit from the ‘Moment’. Backup & Restore are clunky too… if it syncs to iCloud why must I manually sync between devices. Sometimes I’m not sure if I made any changes on my other device they will be wiped out after syncing OR changes on my current device will be overwritten. As for “sharing”, simply sending a photo of your Momento screen doesn’t really constitute “sharing”. And why the “Feeds”? Do people really want to post to Facebook or Instagram first, then have Momento scrape their feed to populate Momento? Maybe I’m unusual in that regard. Also, I’d really, really like to “share” with another Momento user, like you can do with ’Notes’ in iOS. My travel partner can’t see what I’ve documented, unless of course I show her my screen. How ridiculous is that? I realize the development team is small but it’s obvious that they’re looking to increase revenue by creating obstacles and removing previous functionality. Not a good business model from a customer perspective. I like the main concept and app interface, just tempted to continue my search for a better tool at this point. Oh, and after paying for the subscribed version it reverted back to the free version… had to do a “restore”. Maybe the developer will review the product design and their decisions.

Used to be great…
This app hasn’t been updated in a year. Many of the feeds are now broken, including Swarm, and X. If you’re using it for journaling or basic RSS feeds, it’s probably still great. But sadly, I will not be resubscribing, even though I have been using this app for nearly 8 years. I have reached out using their support, and their email, and I’ve gotten no reply and no help. Rest in peace Momento. You will be missed.
Lock
I have been using this app for a while now. I paid for the lock code, but just recently it has stopped working. I have tried restore purchase, but its not working. I have emailed support but so far no answer. Update they emailed me advising me to read the support page, which i have already done. Wont let me restore purchase😡
Hmmm
I’ve used this app for years, I even bought the app before subscriptions were a thing so that I had the additional functionality. Imagine going to a shop and buying a product and then, a while later, being told that you need to pay a monthly/annual fee if you want your product to continue to work. I used it to collate data from social media and add my own journal entries. Last year, around a decade of data disappeared because I wasn’t a subscriber. So I subscribed but it didn’t recover my data. All my older social media accounts are “disconnected” and won’t reconnect and the new accounts I’ve added haven’t updated since August 17th and even those updates don’t have the images with them. Bought and app, paid the subscription but it just doesn’t deliver
Good app, but time zone support seems off
I was trying to use the app in india and the day was off.
12 years and counting
Ive been using this app now for 12 years, back when I was a completely different app. And for some reason it was the only one that finally stuck with me. It felt like the closest thing I could get to being a digital version of my journals I kept as a kid with the little locks on it. Its very simple. But thats what I like about it. It only serves one purpose for me and I dont feel overwhelmed by its features and such.

You can’t lock the app with a passcode anymore!
Feeds still not working?
I do rate this app highly, but the feeds from Facebook haven’t been working for ages and I find this very frustrating! When will it be fixed please?
Disappointed
I have been a long time mostly satisfied user but I am disappointed that a glitch they had from several years ago still hasn't been resolved. I like using the adding photos feature but if you don't select them all the first time around you are screwed. For whatever reason there's no going back in to select more photos from your camera roll. This is very important for me because I keep records of events on here that go with supporting images.
Spotty issues with feeds and the new version frustrating
I’ve used momento since late 2011. I’d gotten accustomed to older social media feeds failing to be captured and preserved, don’t know why they don’t upload that post amd keep it instead of relying on changing platform handshakes through time. But now they say I lose all that history if I don’t pay for a subscription, and in-app purchase doesn’t work, and they don’t have an active twitter or email to ask questions. So I hope they choose to address these things. I can’t even download the old stuff from my phone until they unlock it.

Out of business?? I have subscribed since 2014 and love this journaling app! I even recently renewed! However, I have been trying to contact you since the beginning of October to no avail. Zendesk is is of zero help with my issue. I keep being asked to upgrade my subscription to obtain features I already (had) access to. As Premium Gold shouldn’t there also be a degree of expedited customer service? My Ticket number is #9603. Thank you.
Wish it was iPad friendly
I enjoy this journaling app but I wish it was easier/more straightforward to format the text (e.g make text bold, italic, headings, lists, etc). It would also be great if it was iPad friendly and could sync across devices :-)
So frustrating
I want this app to work so bad. Unfortunately almost 80% of the time it doesn’t connect to my IG feed, which is the whole reason I have it. Pls fix or advise. I log out, log in update feeds, disconnect reconnect, delete and reload the app and still works terribly. I purchased the paid version which I regret.
Doing it’s job but….
No way to export both the pictures and the notes (as PDF or any other format) No iPad version The team are clear that these and other options are off the table-disapponting. This app could have been a great winner but….

Premium is a scam
I paid for a Premium subscription almost a year ago for the “Full Feed History” but have never been able to connect my FB or IG feeds. I will not be renewing and would not recommend others pay for the Premium version.
Date & Time setting!!
I’ve been using this app every day for many years and am reasonably happy with it. I think you have made a serious mistake changing the way we have to set the date and time for an entry. This latest way of pressing on the date to bring up a calendar to pick a day is extra work. Pressing on the time to try and scroll to a particular time of day is so frustrating, it’s almost unusable. Can you please change it back to the way it was. Thanks. ADDITIONAL INFO FOR Time-waster: I too have the latest IOS on a 13 Pro and have no problems at all opening the app. I’ve found with other apps where the crashing problem occurs, I needed to completely remove the app from the system and do a fresh install. This has usually fixed it. Good luck.

Great app until they stopped me from seeing my social media history in my posts, shame as I’ve been with app for over 12 years.
Seems to do the job
Contacted support about an issue with FB integration and so far no response. Whether it’s a FB issue or not. A response would have been nice. Can’t see me paying for this after the trial.

Looks like developer stopped updating and responding to request since January 2024. Don’t pay for an upgrade cause it doesn’t do anything.
Fantastic app
Fantastic journaling app, great design and easy to use. Have been using it for a couple of years now but sadly might need to look elsewhere as the data is taking up nearly half of my device’s storage. If there’s a way to just store the backup to iCloud, that would be perfect.

Facebook Feed known bug has been open 14 months
I’m extremely disappointed. Don’t count on an automatic feed from Facebook. It doesn’t work. There has been a bug report open for 14 months which still hasn’t been addressed as of today 2/18/24. I contacted Customer Support two months ago and received an automated email in reply.
Love the app but it takes up too much data!!
I love this app, I have used it now almost daily for two years!! It’s so simple to use! However, because I have put up lots of videos and photos in this app and all of this takes up data, I now have my phone extremely low on data!! Can you please change this apps feature so that it’s all in the cloud and not saved onto your phone - means less data used up on phone and also makes it easier to change phones!! It’s such an amazing diary app, with this feature more people would love it too!! Oh, and what would also be a great feature that would make it perfect, is if you could also share the entries with family or friends, I hope that one day my now babies when they get older can read this diary and know what happened in their baby/childhood and how much I love them (especially if something were to happen to me).😊❤️
Used to be my favourite ever app
I really loved this app but it’s slowly falling apart and despite several attempts over the past year I’ve had no response to my requests for help. Advertised things just don’t work any more. I’ve been happy to support it with a subscription but I think the developers are either bored with it or have a new favourite. Really sad, but with a heavy heart, I will have to start looking for a replacement.
Decent but no cigar
I’ve just come back to Momento after a long while in search of a Journal app Whilst I have no problem on the iPhone, I do have a problem with the Mac app as it is only now available for Mac users with an M1 Chip. While I appreciate this is all well and good going forward, you immediately alienate the majority of Mac users from using Momento. I hope the team can do something for us Mac users who haven’t got the latest and greatest M1 devices

I am using this app for mire than a year. I used this as a diary to keep my everyday moments. I am just using the free one but this is ok for my need right now. 5 star to me 👍
IT DOES NOT SUPPORT SOCIAL MEDIA FEEDS!!
The description is FALSE! I paid the premium subscription fee for this app ONLY because it said it would pull in my social media feeds. It worked for a month, maybe, and now it hasn’t worked in almost a YEAR! Total waste of money and total misrepresentation of what this app can do. The “known issues” list says they have know about the issue for at least a year! No fix! They blame Facebook for that feed, but another journal I have since found supports the syncing of my feed(s) (Diarium). CORRECT your description Momento, or fix the issue! I use Day One for day-to-day journaling… I wanted this one for the social media syncing. Zero stars ⭐️!!
Great app
Been using since 2014. Backs up to my MacBook. Only criticism is inability to use on Mac/PC.
Fails to update feeds
I used to really like this app, not for making manual journal entries but for its unique social feed aggregation. It was great to have everything in one place with multiple ways to search and view. For whatever reason, with the exception of Twitter (my least used feed), the app fails to update - other than when I completely deleted and reinstalled but even then it stopped working after a couple of days. I had initially raised a support request, which took nearly six months for a response. I was assured everything was fixed but sadly that’s not the case. Such a pity.
Swarm Feed
Swarm feed no longer working. I sent a message to the developers on 24/10/20 but have not yet received a reply. Looking at the problems they are having maintaining the feeds which gave this app its USP I have to wonder if its time is over and I need to find something else. I don’t think I can justify continuing with premium membership when it next falls due.
