Could be perfect but for two things
Decent diary apps are hard to come by. Many charge large subscritions but not an awful lot, while most of the free ones are too basic or full of ads. This ticks most of the boxes for me: very reasonable subscription, mobile apps and web so you can use it on all your devices, and you control the data - not the app developer or cloud provider, plus a simple clear interface that allows you to add tags, location and photos. Its plain text only - no formatting, bold. italics etc but that is fine for me. There are two big problems for me though: One is search. I keep an electronic diary so I can find things again but this has only sinple word search. So if you want to find entries containing, say Christmas Tree, it will find Christmas tree but also Christmas, Tree, Christ, Chris etc etc. This makes it pretty useless in terms of ability to find things. You can add tags and search by them as well as by date but that only gets you so far. The other issue is that there appears to be no support or development. It rarely if ever goes wrong (once or twice its been briefly unavailable online) but if you have a problem/issue you are unlikely to get any response and the Facebook page is pretty barren. I’d happily pay more for a decent search and to get rid of the feeling that it might just disappear one day. In the meantime, take regular backups!
Great backbone but unfriendly user interface
It has great features. You can tag, store in folders, have multiple entries on same day. But There is something very imperfect about its layout - It doesn’t link up tags in a manner that ensures continuity. It destroys flow between days and months. In summary, diaro checks all the boxes of desired features but the sum of the parts has much room for improvement. If renovated, it’ll likely be the best one around!
Not very private, their privacy policy is very suspicious
I've been using this app for several years and I really believed that it was the best Journaling app and I trusted it to be secure, not just from outside people but from THEM, the company themself I am sad to have to give them a low rating but If u go online and read their privacy policy they use indirect word salad, instead of just simply saying "your content is encrypted and secured, no one can access them, not even our company itself " They do not say this, nor does the app itself say this Whats app is a great example of putting emphasis on encryption If u use this app I would take great caution with this app You would think the #1 brag for a diary app would be it's PRIVACY policy and security and encryption especially but they do not emphasize this I feel like people at this company look at peoples private journal entries If I am wrong please let me know, I would love to be proven wrong!! But if this is the case this app needs to be shut down that is so wrong Idk if other diary apps do this but this is a great betrayal of trust

Useful, but missing important elements
I enjoy using this diary. I use it mainly as an annotable Calendar, which allows me to write extensively on whatever appointments or information I wish to record for that day. It is set up in a convenient way. It is easy to figure out how to add and remove elements from postings. However, for my uses, it should open up to the current date, not just show a calendar of all dates from sometimes one month back from the current date. Also, the small calendar does not advance from one month to the next, so in June, I am still seeing half of the calendar of May. And it would be helpful to have a way to select which month to show. Rather than just scrolling and scrolling. The main box scrolling function is useful, but it should start at the current date, not start by showing postings from August or whatever.
2000 entries and going
As the title suggests, I’ve been keeping a daily diary for over 5 years and am up to about 2000 entries: Diaro has been perfect for me. Great tagging, ability to add photos, etc… couldn’t ask for more.
Cannot reset password
I cannot reset my password. Therefore, I cannot keep journaling. I have switched apps
Best I’ve tried
I’ve been trying to journal for a while and I’ve bounced from app to app. Diaro fits my needs the best. It’s not the most “modern” looking app, but it’s got all the functions and features I need. I hope development continues for some time to come. Pros: organization (folders and tags), locations, templates, mood tracker, cross platform sync (I use it on iPhone, iPad and the web) Cons: only sync option is Dropbox, sync between iOS devices and web can be funky sometimes (found its best to create tags on device rather than the web)
No support!
I have contacted the owner multiple times for help over an issue I have with updating the name of the account but he never answers! This is not good enough for a paid app.
Great App,Wish I could sync to other than Dropbox
Great app, and fantastic for cross platform sync. The only limitation is it will only sync media via DropBox, and the free plan fills up fast. It’s the most expensive cloud storage option,so I’d this app was able to select sync options with Onedrive or iCloud instead would make this app five star.

Used this for years, loved it, but it no longer works at all on M1 or later Macs
I have used Diaro for years on iOS and Android, as well as the web app, and wanted to get it working on my M1 Mac, but it does not even launch and work there. It stays on the blue splash screen with a little white notepad and never goes to any other screen. No way to log in, no input, no way to see my diary entries, nothing.
Over 1000 entries. Best app, but no support.
I have been using the app and the website version for years now as a paid subscriber. I have well over 1000 entries which are grouped into four folders. I like this feature that other programs do not offer. The folders. No other program, I found features the level of organization and search capacity and ease that I found with this app. on the other hand, there are drawbacks. I do use a dedicated dropbox account to back this up. There are many times when the app and the web browser version will not synchronize. I have never received a return message from support anytime I have contacted the developer. in general, the problem can be solved by unlinking the dropbox account and relinking it. However, that will then prompt a significant time-consuming re-synchronization of the account. I do perform backups periodically, which I think is very important if you care about your journal. I also have PDF versions in case the company ever goes under.
Free version won’t export entries
The free version is great as long as the device you used is the only place you are ever going to want to see your journal entries. If you try to export or print it won’t do it unless you buy the upgrade. The only free option I found is to copy or share one entry at a time… extremely cumbersome if you have a bunch of entries you want to export.
Wish it has more font options
I think the app is great, been using it for 5 years now. The ONE thing I’d really like is the options for different fonts. I find the text type so limiting. I’m a very visual person and font contrast are important to me when I see a piece of text. I’d like to mess around with the font a little; do bold, italics, strikes, highlight a line of text etc. If this is implemented I’ll be so happy because this app is fantastic.
The Best Journal App Avaiable
I have been using Diaro for years on my androids. Now I have it on my new iPhone.
Extremely Unstable after Recent Update
The app keeps crashing after loading an entry with photos already added to it. Has been occurring every time since the recent update. Attention to this issue should be addressed as soon as possible.

Diaro is my main go to app for notes but can you please add where we can share links from other apps to Diaro and to our notes, click on the link and it will take us to that page?
Glitchy stuff while typing
When I try to type in landscape mode the screen keeps jumping up and down and it’s so irritating I honestly feel angrier after journaling, which kind of defeats the purpose
Need image captions
Looked very promising, but I need to be able to caption my diary images. If this became available I wouldn’t hesitate to pay for the pro version.
Consistent for years
I have been using Diario for years and years. I never thought to look for it on my M1 MacBook Pro. When I found it and realized I could sync it with my Android app on my phone, that was a treat. I had been looking for a cross platform journaling app and I gladly paid the 9.99/yr fee. It works!

Love the app, but very recent issue
I love this app, I’ve been making entries in here for maybe 3 years now with no issues whatsoever. I like the passcode option for privacy and the app has never been buggy for me before. However, with the recent update, it’s been deleting entire entries I’ve made, and sometimes parts of them for some reason. I can’t figure out why or what I did to make it do that; I’ve been playing around with it and nothing I do in the app seems to fix it. The problem started a few days ago I believe. Please help
Nonsense ordering.
It lets you add timestamps to entries but orders them by when they are created. I'm going to add the most significant stuff first, but then the timeline doesn't make any sense. If I think of something that happened earlier I have to redo every entry afterwards? Why have a timestamp at all if it's going to be ignored, no one writes things in a diary as they're happening.
Not synchronising
It’s great app and simple to use. However, it’s not synchronising on different device and also I would suggest it would be great to be synchronised without using Dropbox. If it’s not synchronising, I’d like to ask refund.
Perfect
This app is perfectly set up for keeping track of my work day and location. Perfect. I would pay more than what they are asking just to ensure it’s always around.
Not secure
The app can be accessed by add entry or add photo, completely bypassing the main password. This renders it completely pointless.
Overall it works just fine! Been using 4+ years
The only cons, support is something I’ve never been able to figure out. Other than that, is practical and easy to use on iPhone or iPad. Never been able to use it in Sync with Apple Laptop.
Blank Screen!!!
For the last few weeks a problem is being faced by customers like us. A blank screen appears and there are no action points so the user cannot do anything. This is quite dangerous as it appears that entire data is lost. An exceptionally unprofessional state of affairs.

I had created a backup and by mistake the app got deleted when I reinstalled it the backup isn’t available

I have been using this app for the past year or so and anything that is on my mind I can speak it and it’s recorded along with pictures I can upload and it also keeps track of where I’m at and the weather. Which is great for at later dates to reminisce!

Trusted Confidante/Inspirational
I’ve been using the Diaro app for many years. The only reason I don’t give it a five-star rating is due to the moments reflection doesn’t work. It used to remind me of other entries “on this day,” but unfortunately mine stopped even though I checked the settings. That feature is why I started using this app, because it reminds me how far I’ve come in love. I’m tempted to switch to another app and start over. I pray this is fixed quickly.

Excellent and elegant but lacks features for it to be Premium
Simple and easy to use. Interface is easy to navigate. No learning curve required. But to go premium I need more features- for example, I would like to repeat some work on few days... now I have to enter it manually every day. Also integration with other calendar ( iOS) and Microsoft to do list would make this feature rich and and awesome application.

I found this app a very useful application. I tried some such applications but Diaro is far better than all those I used. The last such app I used for almost four years is ColorNote. Now I want my those datewise entries to be transferred to Diaro but don’t know how. Somebody help me !!

Good app
The WORST Password System.
Don't you know that a user’s password should be stored as a hash, not plain text? This is what happened, Both I and my brother have access to my phone. So I put a different password for this app and set my Gmail address as a recovery email. My Snoopy brother opened my diary, Clicked forgot password, and your app send me the plain, unhashed passcode to my email. He read all my diary entries, guess what? I am doomed. All my personal apps were locked with that same 8 digit pin and now he opened each one of them and I had to change it everywhere! You guys are so dumb. 😥
App gets crashed when trying to link to drop box
The app is great with all folders and activities But every time I use Face ID it flickers and can’t get in When I try to link it to drop box it just blanks out
Using this for years
I would like to see Pinned post ability, and maybe down the line if we can use bold, underline formatting ability. Other than that, thank you for the wonderful app. I love being able to use it on my Android phone, and see my entries show up on the ipad ( iOS ). Its compatible in terms of syncing anywhere, even online the web! OH YEAH would love a widget! Where, I can see the moods of each day, and enter an entry.

A security issue needs to be fixed
Very nice app but has a problem. When I open the app from the quick menu in my iPhone it opens without requiring the passcode. When I open from ‘Add entry’ or ‘Add photo’ it opens without the passcode. This is the only problem with this app. Please fix it
