Best
It was the best app for surfing Reddit.
Why is this listed? Dead app!
Wow the App Store is garbage now.
The best Reddit app
Its a horrible experience on Reddit without Apollo. My time is decreasing each week which is probably a good thing though.
disappointing
i know Reddit changed their terms and such, I followed the whole thing. but Narwhal has been able to survive with a very affordable subscription. Apollo already had subscribers, many of whom would have been more than happy to pay a slightly increased cost if necessary if it meant the app could still run. I don't even think Narwhal has push notifications and there are still a ton of great reviews. I personally use it and it's the closest to Apollo and they are currently working on more Apollo-esque features. Very disappointing that Christian instead decided to abandon the app. ):

Best Reddit App (RIP)
Ahh, I can still remember the good ol’ days before Reddit built their official app around 10 years ago. I was in high school when I got my first iPhone and can vividly remember finding Alien Blue on the App Store 2013. I thought Alien Blue was perfect; simple, clean, and easy to use, deploying logic that allowed us to use Reddit just how it was intended to be used. Once Reddit released their official app, they decided to remove Alien Blue from the App Store but the app still worked if you had it downloaded on your device. I never knew Alien Blue was removed from the App Store until I got a new iPhone 2016 and was utterly devastated when I couldn’t find it on the App Store anymore. But then that’s how I found out about Apollo. I felt like we were in the future when I first started using Apollo, the customization was on another level and I quickly got over losing my ability to use Alien Blue. Life was perfect for the next 6 years, until Reddit decided to go public and let greed and profits take over. I was devastated when Apollo was cancelled, I tried using the official Reddit app for a little bit but hated it and just stopped going on Reddit overall. Luckily enough, a jailbreak for my iPhone on iOS 16 dropped on January 2024 and one of the first things I did was try and get access to Apollo again and i was successful! Too a little bit of time researching and getting the proper keys to setup Apollo using my own API, but I’m extremely happy I’m still able to use Apollo to this day! We’re halfway through 2026 already and I just hope Apple or Reddit won’t do something that’ll break my ability to use Apollo. Thank you Christian for everything you’ve done for all of us, I’ve made use to support you for your dedication to preserving one of the best apps to come out in the past 10 years!
just remove it
whats the point of this app now? you either go subscription or remove it entirely instead of begging for money
Reddit is now history
Without Apollo using Reddit is a dung show. Ditched Reddit altogether.
Cyber begging.
An app update just for the tip jar before it’s shutting down.
Rip to the goat
Still makes me sad
why does this exist
the app doesn’t work anymore
Service terminated on June 30, 2023
App looks exactly what I was looking for. Too bad that for Reddit changing their policies. First Twitter, now Reddit. Platforms need to change from being monopolistic to open and decentralised systems. Users will eventually vote them down by churning away. I will have a look at Aether now…
Lemmy Join the Fun~
Would you be interested to reprise this app for Lemmy? This would singlehandedly bring you back to limelight and shake both Reddit and Lemmy’s world, three birds with one stone. I hope you’re not too late to miss this opportunity ✌︎
Still the best Reddit App
It’s been 2 years since Apollo stopped development. Yet it is still the best Reddit app ever made. Thankfully there is Apollo Reborn which does require side loading but keeps it Apollo functional. I’m posting this review to say thanks to Christian for the many years he worked on Apollo. I’m sure the community would love it see it open sourced if he was ever so inclined. Either way thank you again Christian!
Don’t work
Awful the real Reddit app works
Best Reddit app by far
All I can say is **** /u/spez. What a ****
Keeps crashing
I
Thanks for everything!
Reddit is destroying Apollo and all community trust; primarily through the actions and communications of its current CEO. :( I deleted my accounts and will have a hard time contributing/engaging with Reddit even if they reverse course. Apollo, the app, has been a joy to use. The stock Reddit app pales in comparison. Thanks for providing an excellent user experience over all these years through Apollo. So long and thanks for all the fish.
Come on Apple..!!
Why is this still on the App Store if you cannot use it??!

Crashing soon after update
Hey the app is crashing soon after opening after the recent update.
Crashes often
Sadly the app crashes too often.. If I try to change it's icon it crashes, when I apply the setting "highlight new comments" it crashes.. It's way to unstable.. This is all on a fresh install of the app..
Please come back
This was the best I’ve ever had and I still think about it to this day.
Dead App. Apple Remove It!
DOA. RIP.
Shame Reddit is killing it
A great app that makes browsing Reddit actually work on iOS. It’s a shame that Reddit’s upcoming policy changes will kill it.
Can’t make post without paying
Pretty crap you can’t make your own posts without paying a premium. Looks like I’m going back to the official app
Not able to change theme
I’m on iPhone 6 SE the app crashes everytime I change the theme
Awesome app
5/5. Can’t believe it’s not on my home screen anymore.
App still available despite being EOL’d?!
App has been end of lifed, what is the point to it still being here available for download?! If an app is no longer online, delete it from the App Store. Waste of time and data.
It was good while it lasted.
Unfortunately, Reddit killed 3rd party apps. I’ll abandon Reddit rather thank use anything else.
awful video player
low quality video player, incredibly frustrating if you're trying to read something from a clip

You are missed,
Christian!
Shut down
The app has shut down so there's no use in downloading it
Bug with Pixel Pals
Pixel pals progress has been reset since latest update 😢
Less useful than the official Reddit app
Unable to open Reddit links from other apps. Copy/pasting the link in the search in Apollo does nothing, finds nothing. Friction to use is too damn high.
Can you not pester me on every startup
SERIOUSLY STOP. I already paid for pro. Plus the save category is Ultra exclusive so why do I see the button every time I save something?!
Please come back
Thanks for everything
Used to love this app
They shut it down! It was my favorite way of downloading great content off Reddit 😔
(:(
Crash at open
App crash, and cant get pass splash screen
I never reviewed this app whilst it was still alive so here is my opinions in retrospect
This was genuinely the best app for Reddit, I may have only used it for about 2 years but it was genuinely a really good experience. I loved how it looked and felt like an app designed by Apple itself with it being swiftUI. The gestures were amazing, the icons… omg the absolute hoard of icons it had was crazy. I had an absolute amazing time on Apollo and it genuinely had a big impact on my life and I how I consumed content. I have been putting up with the official Reddit app for almost 3 years now and I have to say it doesn’t even come close to Apollo and how intuitive it is. The only thing that comes close to Apollo is Hydra which is another Reddit app just like Apollo (not an advert I just like the app). I loved the app so much and it was genuinely a 10/10 experience while it existed. :)
