La aplicación mejoró
Inicialmente no funcionaba bien. Ahora ya no noto problemas.
Cada vez peor
Con cada actualización, la app es peor. Más publicidad que interrumpe la lectura, ahora con vídeos. Y lo peor, ahora cada vez que abro la app se me para la música (Spotify, por ejemplo), que no puedo iniciar de nuevo porque es como si la app estuviera intentando reproducir algún vídeo o audio que yo no quiero oír. Por lo demás, no consiguen que el contenido “para web” se muestre en la app, ni tampoco, en muchas ocasiones, las fotogalerías.
Audios
Desde ayer en todos los audios me aparece el letrero “Audio no disponible” Mi suscripción sigue activa y no entiendo si es problema de mi dispositivo o de la aplicación. Un saludo

Vídeos y carruseles paran mi música
Me gusta escuchar música y leer las noticias. No puedo porque hay photos y vídeos que paran la música. Danos una opción de no reproducir ese contenido automáticamente en El País por favor.
Amo el periódico y la aplicación
Me encanta su diseño y la facilidad de lectura. Los artículos y articulistas son de primera. Muy bien escritos y muy bien investigados los temas.
Un desastre
Experiencia pésima a todo nivel. Periodismo muy sesgado. Cantidad de publicidad para clientes de pago. Amén de prácticas fraudulentas para renovar subscripciones sin autorización. En síntesis. Una vergüenza por donde se lo mire.
Los vídeos no funcionan
Tenéis que trabajar más en que los vídeos se puedan visualizar rápido. Tardan en abrir muchísismo, si es que abren.
Good reporting, but…
deceptive in that (without letting you know this) you get one month “free” then are charged to “continue reading” every article. Bummer. Fine journalism otherwise. I don’t mind paying, but don’t appreciate deception.

Al parecer ha habido una actualización de la aplicación recientemente, 5 de Julio 2025. Desde entonces no me es posible abrirla en iPhone. Si la podéis chequear os lo agradeceré muchísimo. Guys, seems like there have been a couple of app upgrades in the last few days, and as of today July 5th 2025, I’m no longer able to open the app on the iPhone I’ve always used. If you could iterate the changes made to the updated scripts for glitches, I’ll appreciate it very much
Cannot Cancel
Do not sign up with this company. They claim you can “cancel at any time” but this is not true. You cannot unsubscribe on line…they want you to call them, Spain time, and then they refuse to cancel and hang up! Avoid at all costs!
Puedo o no Leer indistintamente en mis aparatos como tablet y computador
Al suscribirme consulté si podía tener la aplicación en cualquiera de mis equipos. Pero no puedo sino leer en el teléfono y no me sirve de esa manera. Necesito instrucciones para utilizar mis equipos con la aplicación
Inicio de sesión
En general, en la aplicación se lee bien. El gran problema es que constantemente se cierra la sesión, como suscriptor es muy molesto. Cada que cierro la aplicación o en ocasiones leyendo, cierra la sesión. Suma que al abrir la app, me pide configurar nuevamente las preferencias de privacidad, y él no aceptar todo hace que la aplicación inicie muy lenta o me pida iniciar nuevamente sesión.
No permite borrar ejemplares descargados
Quienes descarguen ejemplares de edición impresa y, una vez leídos, decidan borrarlo para no ir ocupando espacio inútilmente, no tienen esa opción, de lo más básica en este tipo de aplicaciones. Se ven obligados a deinstalar e instalar de nuevo la App. No es aceptable. (Actualización: me informan desde El PAÍS que las ediciones impresas descargadas en la App se eliminan automáticamente a los cinco días).
Fomenta la lectura
Llevo ya dos meses utilizando la app! La neta esta increíble, me ha ayudado a fomentar mi lectura y a la vez me mantengo informado, sin sentir que estoy leyendo un periódico viejito. Ya que cada escritor, tiene su propia menta de redactar sus columnas. Muy buena 👌
Un desastre
Tengo cuatro días en que no puedo abrir la aplicación. De todas maneras para lo que cobran es una aplicación pésima absolutamente inaccesible para personas con discapacidad visual, da vergüenza que un medio español, donde hay una gran cultura de respeto a la diversidad, tenga una app tan mala Lo peor es que ahora ni siquiera sirve.
Una app muy básica...
Lo que falta mucho es el modo oscuro! Update: Desde agosto 2024 hay modo oscuro. Por fin! Buen update! Y a mi me gusta el nuevo formato también. —> cambio de evaluación de dos a cuatro estrellas
No option to login with google account
The app does not allow to login with google account, which by the way is the only available method to subscribe to content as of dec ‘24. This makes the app absolutely useless.
La app se cierra de pronto
Casi coincidiendo con la última actualización me ha vuelto a aparecer el problema de los cierres repentinos de la app. Llevo dos días sin poder leer la versión impresa, único motivo por el cual soy suscriptor premium.
The Global Newspaper
El País is a quality newspaper with international reporting by news agencies and foreign correspondents, it also has collaboration agreements with various European newspapers. It is a newspaper of record in Spain and is known for highly factual reporting with minimal failed fact checks. It has a slight centre left bias. I recommend this newspaper for English readers who wish to get an unbiased look at international affairs, with particular spotlight on the US, Europe and South America.
One star because 0 is not possible
Unbelievable, how unprofessional and clumsy this app is! They must not have a UI and no QA department. Having a good app would be such a huge opportunity for them. I just don’t get it. Look at the Wall Street Journal for example.

La app no se actualiza al abrirla
Además de otros problemas crónicos, la app permanece en la portada abierta horas antes sin actualizarse. Esto hace necesario cerrarla y volver a abrirla para ver las últimas noticias
Casi perfecta
La aplicación está bien, pero encuentro tres fallos: aunque tengo suscripción activa, algunos artículos tienes que abrirlos en la web (es muy molesto), cada ciertos días hay que volver a aceptar las cookies (¿cuántas veces hay que decir que sí o que no?), antes podía incluir los artículos en Pocket para leerlos en mi eReader pero ya no funciona (¿por qué?)

Content is great - technology is mediocre
El País is probably the most prestigious newspaper in Spanish. Reliable and accurate. However, the app is mediocre: time to connect is way too long compared to other newspapers, often bugs, photos charge slowly or do not even charge, videos almost never available for viewing. They really need to rethink the app
No funcionan
Después de la última actualización la aplicación se cierra un segundo después de intentar abrirla
Cosas q no me gustan de la nueva versión
1) cada vez que salgo de una noticia, me lleva de vuelta a la primera noticia de la portada. 2) lo de las noticias express no se puede desconectar en el menú.
Love the journalism and the app… when it works
This app continues to be buggy and crash all the time. There are moments when it works, when it does it’s great, but it’s not often. I even have premium thinking maybe it would be better and still doesn’t work. I always end up reading on desktop out of frustration.
Unable to sign in
Despite paying a subscription, the app will not recognise my sign in details. Update: El Pais were extremely helpful in resolving the issue which is now rectified, hence 5 stars. Thanks.

Several times a week I must delete the app and reinstall it in my iPad because it won’t open. This is tiresome and should not be that hard to fix.

Imposible cambiar de región
Últimamente la app se bloquea cuando quieres configurar tu región, para leer algún edición distinta a la española. Te lleva al inicio de la app y no avanza más. Deberían corregirlo pronto!

Awful app
They need to het their act together. El Pais touts itself as being a global newspaper and wanting to reach a global audience. With its terrible, malfunctioning app, they will never achieve it. Just to give a you a hint of how awful it is, I tried subscribing to the newspaper and the app is unable to even show me the rates. You think Im going to trust them to process and handle my data if they can’t even process subscriptions? What a joke.

Demasiados fallos
No funcionan cosas básicas como los bookmarks (“Leer más tarde”). Cuando lo usas, el bookmark no se guarda y se pierde. No deberían añadir funcionalidad sin haberla testeado.

Necesita mejorar
La aplicación necesita mejorar mucho aún para alcanzar las aplicaciones digitales de los otros grandes diarios internacionales. En primer lugar, la publicidad (aun para los suscriptores) en numerosas ocasiones está mal ubicada dificulta una fácil lectura. Además, la app aun no ofrece la posibilidad de lectura en modo nocturno.
Bien pero cierra sesión continuamente
Funciona bien, es facil navegar por las secciones. Tres fallas problemáticas para mi: 1. Me cierra la sesión cada dos por tres y me entero cuando me dice que no puedo acceder contenido y tengo que iniciar sesión otra vez. 2. Sólo se puede tener sesiones abiertas en dos dispositivos y las tengo en mi movil y mi ordenador. Cuando en el móvil accedo contenido que hay que abrir en la web me reenvía a la opción sin subscripcion y me tengo tragar los anuncios o directamente no me deja verlo xq no he iniciado sesión en el explorador del movil (xq no puedo por el cupo). Por favor generen un reenvío de la app a la web que indique que el usuario está suscrito o aumenten el numero de dispositivos/sesiones que se pueden tener simultáneamente. 3. La contraseña no puede tener símbolos. Hasta ahí todo bien. El problema es q no lo dice y me dejó generar contraseña con simbolos q luego no funcionaba. Me llevó varios emails con atención al cliente hasta que dieron con que el problema podria ser el uso de simbolo en la contraseña. Basta con que eso se indique en la página de generación de contraseña. Gracias
