Amazing app, quality people
The people on this app really are interesting and cool! It’s not all celebrities of course, but the quality is visibly very high. It also feels less “algorithm-heavy” than many other platforms.

Making your recent connections bigger, and only seeing one at a time, is an annoying, unnecessary update.
No one responds on this app
UI is better than other apps especially with the explore mode. Problem is the lack of volume of matches compared to other apps. Have yet to have a single conversation on this one and feel ripped off.
Too Expensive for All This Waiting
I really wanted to like Raya, but the swipe limit is honestly ridiculous. You only get to swipe through what feels like 10 or so people before suddenly you’re hit with a wait time, and the wait is SOOOO long. For an app this expensive and supposedly exclusive, we should at least be able to browse through more people before getting locked out. What makes it even more frustrating is that most of the limited profiles I’m shown aren’t even my type. So I’m basically paying a premium price to swipe through a handful of people I’m not interested in and then wait forever to see more. Either give us more profiles to swipe through, shorten the wait time, or lower the price. The current setup just doesn’t feel worth what we’re paying.

I don’t understand why a $50 dollar subscription would still have limits on how many people you can swipe on. On any given day you can only swipe on a few dozen people. If you are only interested in a few, then those same people can only swipe on the same number, it’s going to take much longer to match.
Handsome men, but
I’ve been using Raya for a while now, and I have to say, the men are undeniably handsome—definitely a step above the quality you see on Hinge or Bumble. That said, the app is missing some crucial fields—no mandatory info on height, relationship goals, kids, or any preferences. Without that, you end up spending a lot of time just trying to figure out basic compatibility. And on top of that, if you want to message anyone, you have to shell out an insane $70 a month, which I think is way too steep. Overall, great potential, but it needs much more structure and value for that price.

If I'm on a dating app to meet people, how do I go about meeting people so I can get approved? I'm already the only single person in my circle of friends.
Make travel plans longer than one month :)
The app works great, but lots of us have split residences across the world throughout the year. Would be great to have travel plans that are longer than 1 month. E.g. max of 6 months in bulk.
It’s the worst one there is
After 1.5 years on and off this app I’ve unfortunately come to the conclusion that Raya is a completely desexed unerotic place devoid of community or connection… but it was fun briefly believing I had a chance with both Kesha and Eric Andre.
Basically instagram but looks like Tinder
I’ve been on this app for almost 2 years and it kind of feels like Instagram but stagnant profiles. i’ve matched with celebrities and people that have a pretty good job in the entertainment industry, but the offers of dates are either going to their house and getting drunk or for some reason people wanting me to go into a Jacuzzi and drink with them. I had one man harassing me when he got my Instagram and wouldn’t stop trying to peer pressure me into going to his Jacuzzi. The other issue is that none of the UI is working like I can’t change my age range settings. It’s very clunky and confusing. it’s also saying my email doesn’t exist, which doesn’t make any sense. there’s also some people I’ve already seen that are on hinge that are also on this app. I really wish they would have a better UX design. For those who can’t seem to get on, just know that you’ll be seeing the same people probably on the other apps. Also, it might just be easier to DM people on Instagram if you’re interested in them or met irl. and as always, make sure you get tested, heard some horror stories of people off this app having STDs and not disclosing it since they’re “famous”. I wish they had a better screening system for some of these men who are predatory. I’ve matched with some cool people but it just didn’t really lead anywhere. Also there’s some aggressive men I didn’t even want to match with who tried to get up into my DMs which I ended up having to change all my IG settings.

never accepted after years
I’m young, attractive, and professional. I’m a professional model and actress for crying out loud, among having a Master’s degree. I have put in multiple referrals and after YEARS I have still not been accepted. It’s ridiculous.

Save Your Money, Stay Away
Of course this app was designed for celebrity dating… its entire purpose is to make you feel important for being selected but also not fostering any real way of making true deep connections so you are still craving more validation you will never get. I’ve never seen a less relevant premium option than here—there is zero reason to get it because it has zero perks. Not looking to date? Just want to make friends or (god forbid) network?? Even having just for friends in your profile you’ll match with people you will never speak to because they don’t speak. The app is full of people who claim to never get on the app. POURQUOI?!
Working for me
Personally can’t relate to all the bad reviews. I’ve been using Raya for over a year, and was accepted a few hours after applying (with one recommendation). Currently average around 3-5 matches a week, which isn’t bad for a minority male in a smaller UK city (Newcastle). Since joining I’ve had a few visitors/dates from the app, and visited others as well. The inability to limit match range is frustrating, and means the quantity of dates isn’t as good as other apps, but the quality of matches is brilliant, and far better than any other.
Who opened the ugly floodgates?
Used to be exclusive, but I guess Raya had their own bills to pay. Now it’s just the same recycled faces from every other app that made people join Raya in the first place.

No Diversity or Authenticity in this Dating Pool
Ive been on this app for a couple weeks now. The few options that i get provided by Raya usually land somewhere within this range: white shirtless man that’s a professional athlete, a finance bro, or startup founder. As an Asian woman, it would be nice to see some Asian kings out there. They don’t have to be asian, but i want to be able to share my culture with my future partner. This dating pool needs to be diversified…Desperately. This app showed me a lot of superficial candidates. I don’t care about your fancy cars or your trip to Milan. Show me that you know how to be goofy and real. That you have the emotional maturity and bandwidth to raise a child instead of hiring someone else to do it. Overall, dating isn’t easy. And i still feel the same after using Raya
Don’t change your country
The app is a pain if you want to change your country. Had to erase the app, download it again, pay for the subscription twice and the support team did not fix it, a real pain for an app that is supposedly not bound by location

Found love through Raya
Thank you!! At first it seemed like all the same people and took a while until my type of people and algorithm jumped in. In the end all the dates on ive been through Raya were lovely until i met my person. Now we are over half year together and planning long-term future. Im super happy and forever grateful. Due to the fact that we lived in different cities we wouldn’t have met anywhere else.

Needs diversity
For as long as it took for me to even be accepted to the app, I expected way more diverse in profiles and occupation. The amount of tech bros is quite bias. Plus, rarely any people of color as if we arnt part of the population of career successful people.

Overall refreshing app
I’ve been on Raya for a few weeks now and found it really refreshing. I travel a lot for work so the travel plans are useful for making friends and meeting new people in your industry/ space. It certainly targets the right demographic and love the interface.
Scam Billing
Watch out for pausing your membership because it doesn’t actually stop them billing. Surprise! You’re still paying even though you thought you paused. It’s deceptive wording and they absolutely know it.

A dating app that doesn’t really deliver.
This is my second “round” on Raya. While I did meet 1 or 2 people who were decent to me, I have to admit that more of the people who I met and went out on “dates” with misrepresented themselves in some way, ie., had a different age on their profile then what they told me in person, said that they wanted one thing while their actions told a different story as well as using techniques such as “lovebombing”, telling someone what they want to hear, and changing up their behaviors in a short period of time. While I can appreciate the screening process that Raya makes it’s members go through in their application, I’m not sure that it is any different than most of the other dating apps out there.
