Not worth it
I recently tried out Coffee Meets Bagel, expecting a fun and engaging dating experience, especially since I live in Salt Lake City which is a larger metro area with plenty of potential matches. Unfortunately, my experience was quite the opposite. First off, the core premise of the app is intriguing; it connects you with potential matches based on mutual interests and preferences. However, the execution falls flat due to a significant lack of users in my area. Despite being in a sizable city, I found myself swiping through like 20 profiles and every one of them were Asian in one way or another which should have told me enough. It quickly became apparent that the app simply doesn’t have enough active real users to foster a vibrant community. The app encourages you to add friends to help build this community, but this feature feels more like a forced gimmick than a genuine way to enhance the experience. It’s frustrating to be prompted to invite friends when the existing user base is so sparse. Instead of creating a sense of camaraderie or excitement, it highlights the app’s shortcomings and leaves you feeling isolated. In short, Coffee Meets Bagel feels more like a ghost town than a bustling dating platform. If you’re in a larger metro area and seeking connections, you might want to look elsewhere until the app manages to attract more users. It’s a promising concept, but until they can address the user engagement issue, it’s hard to recommend it as a reliable option for dating
Enjoyable Online Dating
Folks on the app seem more mature and intentional. I’ve come across a few creeps but overall a good experience. This app is definitely a place where you will meet more nerds.
Terrible search function
You can’t dial in your search criteria. I will look through the list of auto-populated suggestions. If I change one of my search criteria so it matches some of the people in my list, everyone disappears and it tells me there are no matches that meet my criteria. For instance, I will be looking at someone aged 43. If I change my search criteria to the range of 40 to 50, the person I was just looking at disappears along with everybody else. I will be looking at somebody that lives just a few miles from me, and if I tighten up the distance range in my search criteria, that person disappears along with everybody else. The same thing happens if I change the ethnicity, or any of the other search functions. Very frustrating, so I deleted my account.
Could be better
Overall the features and people on the app are good, but I don’t like how it “rations” the number of ‘suggested’ profiles each day - it used to start with a reasonable number, between 15 and 20 new profiles per day but lately that’s hovering around 5. Then the app forces you to scroll the ‘Discover’ section where they start charging you extra just to send a like (or “flowers”). That’s how they get you for more money after already paying for a subscription - greedy, tacky, lame. Aside from that, the format for filling out profiles has pretty banal or boring prompts which doesn’t really help showcase the personality of each person. Just some photos and a few canned answers to canned questions. So, could be better.
Fantastic app
I have been single for a long time unfortunately! And I have been using CMB off and on. I have had a very positive experience so far.
Extremely difficult to use
Difficult to navigate this site , expensive, confusing way to message ppl No customer service , no logical answers to questions on using site Many old or non valid profiles
Update
I never thought I’d meet my future husband on Coffee Meets Bagel, but here we are. ❤️ It took me six months to find my perfect match, and it was worth every moment. We’re getting married in just two weeks! Thank you, Coffee Meets Bagel, for bringing us together. To everyone still looking—don’t lose hope. Sometimes the right person shows up when you least expect it. 🥰
Extremely low quality matches
Extremely low quality matches
Suggests men when my preference is set to women
Keeps trying to get you to pay. It is only suggesting men when my preference is set to women.
Great App (Im also very lucky)
I gravitated toward this app based on several real life anecdotes I heard of CMB leading to long term relationships. I had no previous dating app experience and knew I wanted something serious. Thankfully, that’s exactly the vibe i got right off the bat. All of the profiles I saw were in my preferences and I could tell these people put in a Lot of effort to express themselves clearly and be forward with their intentions. I probably could have been on here for a while and had several great conversations / dates. Also, generally, the app’s format seemed straightforward and easy to use. I say probably for the same reason my review title says I got really lucky. After setting up my profile and getting some likes, i stuck around to see who was liking my profile (the app doesnt show you right away without a subscription… unless someone sends you “flowers”)… and I got some flowers! :)) that let me see his profile right away, and long story short, we hit it off immediately. He was the first conversation I had and we instantly clicked, our conversation flowed right from the app to texting to dates. We’ve been seeing each other seriously for a while now and we feel amazing about it!! I wouldnt be writing this review if it hadnt gone so perfect for me. I literally dont ever review anything. If youre looking for something serious, I would Definitely try this out. This app struck me as way more wholesome than the other apps Ive heard about. :) happy dating, yall!
CMB is Con men boys
For five years I’ve been on here all I get matched with is with bitcoin scammers and loser men without jobs or broke. They don’t have quality men over 40. They don’t get rid of scammers because they want their subscription money. CMB is con men boys. Or scambodia men boys app. All these scammers are Asians located in Cambodia compounds orchestrating romance scams online according to Wall Street Journal.
Horrible
This app is impossible to match with anyone. They lock the good people away behind a paywall and your likes aren’t visible either. Then everyday they try to get you to pay for their membership. Just get hinge at this point.
Such a great app
I finally found someone significant in my life with CMB. I really appreciate the app, offering such an opportunity otherwise I wouldn’t be able to meet in my personal life.
Too many scammers
Ladies make sure that you do a reverse image search on anyone you match with. I did a reverse image search and found that the person wasn’t who they said they are. Beware of people who do not have a phone number and just want to message you via iMessage. So many scammers that I went to Hinge. I found real humans on there. I am just aghast.
Dead
Virtually empty; manipulative app
Beto
I like the fact that there are special features incorporated to this app; which I find really useful.
No diversity
All the men are Asian. Don’t get me wrong I don’t discriminate but if you’re closed minded and only want Asian men this is the perfect app for you.
Let me turn off those stupid "reminder" notifications
App is fine, I like the 30-ish defined options a day instead of ill-defined "unlimited" swipes a day other dating apps have. But I'm giving this app a low rating and deleting it until you remove the insipid, constant little "helpful" notifications about it like 6 times a day that remind you that it exists and you just need to get yourself back out there! Or at least give me the option to completely disable them without disabling notifications from matches and messages. Extremely annoying.
Recommend 👍
It is useful and safe. Thank you 🙏
Don’t sacrifice your mental health for this garbage
Entire app is designed to extort the most amount of money possible out of you (just like every other dating app), and lead you to believe your match is just a few more dollars away. Sooner or later, society will wake up to the harm these dating apps have caused to our culture. I met my match in real life, for free. I promise you can too.
Hi
Didnt like that u habe to pay
Better than other apps
This app is easier to use
Can’t make an account.
Just fails over and over.
Slightly Disappointed
Love the name, I think it’s super cute! However I’m really disappointed with this app. I paid for the Premium account because it advertised unlimited suggested people, but that was not my experience at all. Maybe the first week was somewhat unlimited, but after that I was only getting around 2–3 suggested people a day. Otherwise, I had to use the Discover tab, where I had to send “flowers” to interact with people. Once you run out of flowers, you have to purchase more. For a paid Premium subscription, I expected to actually receive unlimited suggested people, not be limited and then pushed toward additional purchases.
Best dating app site
Found my soulmate thanks to CMB
Trash app that holds likes hostages
You can only see your likes if you subscribe. They will eventually show your likes if the person who sent the like has a paid subscription on a delay. They will not show you the likes among the daily recommendations from unpaid users. They just let those pile up to entice you to subscribe. The app also frequently shows the same suggestions over and over and over again. Online dating is sort of wasteland as it is - and CMB does their part to make it worse. Try another app. Or don’t.
Fake Accounts
Cannot go into detail how bad this app is, so here are the high lights: 1. Every other account is fake or a scammer. 2. Lowest quality of people. 3. No matches in your area. 4. Everyone on the app needs ozempic 5. Everyone was born before the light bulb was invented 6. Did I mention the fake profiles and scammers 7. Fake profiles 8. Scammers
Waste of Time
No one exists on the app, and the premium never works and is non refundable. Don’t waste your time, money, or energy.
No all around
This app is extremely buggy, has a very limited user base, and the filtering simply does not work on any level consistently. Most times I would be told that I was out of suggestions and then the prior suggestions that I had already passed on would reappear in my suggestion stack and also in my discover stack. The quality of men is not the best for professional Christian women seeking marriage and kids.
Not worth the money
I paid $120 for the 3 months subscription, nothing. Few matches that never spoke once or reply. I’m not ugly, but a decent looking guy with good income and physics.
Bugs
Just keeps repeating the same people on my feed. When I leave the app and come back it refreshes. It didn’t do that before.
