De beste routeplanner!
Ooit begonnen met zo'n tomtom kastje, inmiddels al jaren een abonnement voor m'n iphone. Vooral met de stem van Bram erg prettig, hopelijk wordt die niet vervangen door een hakkelige AI nepstem. Jammer dat de aanwijzingen (nog) niet op een headup display getoond worden. Iets voor een toekomstige update misschien?

I do like this app. But a bit disappointed that I had to delete favourites because I had too many from swapping from the android app. 255 favourites when you are working around the uk is not very many. Please make more! Please please please
Nicht so gut wie erhofft
Ich habe mir die App gekauft, um in Kanada mit einem großen Camper Van gut unterwegs zu sein - gerade weil man ja die Möglichkeit hat, Höhe, Breite und Gewicht des Fahrzeugs einzugeben. Auf den Highways bin ich gerne mit TomTom gefahren, allerdings hatte ich in Städten oder enger besiedelten Gebieten mehr Probleme - und genau dort hätte ich mir von TomTom mehr erwartet. Die Routenführung war oft nicht nachvollziehbar: Zum Beispiel wurde mir eine Fähre vorgeschlagen, um einen Stau zu umfahren, oder wir wurden durch dichte Wohngebiete gelotst, obwohl der Weg über eine große und breite Straße nur eine Minute länger gedauert hätte. Zudem kam es relativ häufig vor, dass mir Straßen vorgeschlagen wurden wurden, die explizit für große Fahrzeuge gesperrt waren. Und gleichzeitig zeigte TomTom oft Straßen an, die gesperrt seien, es aber nicht waren. Insgesamt muss ich sagen, dass wir mit den Klassikern wie Google Maps bzw. Apple Karten besser unterwegs waren.
Has this product been abandoned
My subscription has just been renewed but there has been no updates for 5 months - I wanted to contact support but you cannot get past the support bot on the website. I wanted to understand why I cannot use the feature of avoiding low emissions zones when planning routes that should be available but isn’t. It seems what’s left of TomTom only update their free version to drive sales of the tom gizmo.

I bought the 1 month subscription specifically to help me navigate the narrow roads in Devon and Cornwall. I put the dimensions in of my vehicle and it still took me down roads that are complete inappropriate for the size of the vehicle I inputted. Also. So many missing mini roundabouts. This app is really poor.
TomTom Go Expert
Ich nutze die App seit mittlerweile 12 Jahren und bin insgesamt recht zufrieden, allerdings fehlen von der Konkurrenz bekannte Funktionen wie eine Spracheingabefunktion via CarPlay (man will ja meiner Fahrt nicht tippen), oder eine Minimap im digitalen Tacho. Hoffentlich werden diese Funktionen bald ergänzt.
My favourite app but something has gone wrong
I've been using TomTom for over 10 years and have generally found it reliable and accurate, with only a few significant errors over that time. However, in the last 3-6 months, the maps have become inaccurate. I've noticed serious issues, such as roads being incorrectly shown as closed and inaccurate speed limit displays. For example, on a dual carriageway where the speed limit is consistently 70 mph, TomTom sometimes randomly shows 30 or 20 mph and alerts me for speeding, which is incorrect. I tried reporting these problems via customer service, but they won't let me report systemic errors. Instead, I must list each problem individually, and I've identified dozens of these errors—these are just the ones I've noticed. While mistakes happen, the limited reporting process makes it difficult to provide useful feedback. After an earlier review, TomTom did contact me directly and offered to take a written list of the issues which I did, but I never heard anything back and the issues remain unresolved. I had planned to return to TomTom once these issues are addressed but am feeling much less confident now. I am a full TomTom GO expert truck subscriber but expires soon and am testing alternative’s.

Verbesserungsvorschlag: Ich nutze die App bereits seit Jahren und bin insgesamt sehr zufrieden. Was mir allerdings fehlt ist eine deutliche Darstellung von Landesgrenzen bspw. Zwischen Deutschland und Polen. Es wäre hilfreich wenn Landesgrenzen stärker hervorgehoben wären. Dafür würde die Orientierung auf der Karte deutlich erleichtern.

I’m sure this is a good app, however I can’t even test it before having to pay 79.99 a year. For paying that money on a satnav I can get for free elsewhere, I would rather use it for free for even just a day. I understand the seven day free trial, but you have to pay the money to receive the 7 day free trial which baffles me!
CarPlay-Verwendung verbesserungsfähig
Guten Tag Entwicklerteam, ich nutze die App jetzt schon seit mehreren Jahren und bin auch sehr zufrieden. Anfangs habe ich die App hauptsächlich über iPhone direkt verwendet, doch mittlerweile besitze ich ein CarPlay-Fähiges Autoradio und seitdem nutze ich auch TomTomGo ausschließlich darüber, da natürlich der größere Bildschirm auch wesentlich vorteilhafter ist. Was ich aber in diesem Zuge nicht verstehe: Warum werden auf dem Mobiltelefon wesentlich mehr Informationen angezeigt als über CarPlay, wo ich einen erheblich größeren Bildschirm habe? Beispielsweise die Straßeninformationen wo ich mich gerade befinde, auch wenn ich gerade keine Routenführung aktiv habe, oder die Bezeichnung der nächsten Abfahrt wenn ich Routenführung aktiv habe. Beides wird beim verwenden der App übers iPhone klar und verlässlich angezeigt, was ich mir beim verwenden der App auch wünschen würde. Dies würde die TomTom Go Expert App für mich auf jeden Fall erheblich aufwerten. Beste Grüße

zona traffico limitato (ztl) hier sollte man eine Information bekommen über die Navigation, dass es eine verkehrsberuhigte Zone in Italien ist, beziehungsweise nur gewisse Fahrzeuge hinein fahren dürfen! Die Navigation hat mich durchführen wollen, obwohl ich nicht darf! Sowas sollte nicht passieren beziehungsweise eine Information sollte erscheinen! Hilfreich wäre noch, wenn man in der Gesamtübersicht der Navigation über die gesamte Strecke, wenn es eine längere Strecke ist, mit Verkehrsbehinderung im insgesamt sehen könnte! Um ein besseren Überblick über die Gesamtdauer der Strecke in Echtzeit zu bekommen. Und dann noch eine andere Route wählen zu können. Hilfreich wären noch Funktionen wie in der calimoto Motorrad App beziehungsweise in Kurviger App, Rund Touren mit dem Auto in kurvige Gegenden planen zu können! Für Sportauto Fahrer ist es sehr hilfreich für geplante Ausfahrten! Dazu, zwischen einzelnen Markierungspunkten verschiedene Auswahlmöglichkeiten hat wie Kurvige Strecke, schnellste Strecke oder kürzeste Strecke oder mit Maut oder ohne Maut, beziehungsweise mit Fähren oder ohne Fähren auswählen kann. hier sind die Einzelmarkierungs punkte gemeint die man auf der Gesamtstrecke setzen kann als zwischenpunkte. Eine bessere Preisübersicht für anfangs Abonnenten wäre auch hilfreich! Da als allererstes das teure LKW Abo angeboten wird. Und nur im klein gedruckten, ganz unten für Autofahrer eine Auswahl auch für 20 € besteht. Also Achtung für neue Abonnenten bis ganz runter scrollen und auch das klein Gedruckte lesen!
Good app
I’ve been a loyal TomTom GO user for many years, and it’s become my preferred navigation app. The routing is excellent, traffic information is reliable, and the overall experience is polished. However, there are two missing features that prevent me from giving it more than 3 stars. If these were added, this would easily be a 5-star app. The biggest omission is CarPlay instrument cluster support. On my Audi A5, both Apple Maps and Google Maps display turn-by-turn directions in the Virtual Cockpit as well as on the CarPlay screen. TomTom only displays navigation on the CarPlay display. Apple provides APIs for this (CPTemplateApplicationInstrumentClusterScene, CPNavigationSession, CPManeuver, and related CarPlay navigation APIs), so it would be fantastic to see TomTom implement support for compatible vehicles. Being able to glance at the driver’s display instead of the centre screen is a genuine usability and safety improvement. Secondly, I’d love to see a persistent “avoid roads” feature. There are roads I never want to use, such as a nearby ford, but the only current workaround is “Avoid part of route”, which is temporary and isn’t available in CarPlay. A simple list of roads that users can permanently avoid during route planning would make the app much more practical for everyday use. Using my phone whilst driving is not feasible, illegal in UK. TomTom GO already does so many things well, which is why these omissions stand out. I genuinely hope the team considers adding both features, because if they did, this would immediately become a 5-star app.

I downloaded the North and South UK databases. I was thinking of using this for my motorhome but it either could not find a route or suggested an unsuitable route. For example, Stansted to Canterbury, via Ilford. The M25 and Dartford Crossing was the obvious route. I’ve cancelled after the free trial.
Sehr gut, CarPlay Verbesserungswürdig
Eine sehr gute App mit erstklassigen Verkehrsmeldungen und Top Aktuellen Radarkameras. Kleiner Kritikpunkt: Im CarPlay schaltet die Navigation leider nicht auf Nachtmodus, wenn ich am Auto das Licht einschalte, so wie man es von Apple Karten oder Google Maps kennt. Wäre sehr schön, wenn man dieses Feature noch integrieren könnte.
Für PKW nichtwirklich besser als Google, nur teurer!!
Die Logik hinter der Routenführung von TomTom ist teilweise nicht nachvollziehbar. Selbst wenn es schnellere Routen gibt, hält TomTom sehr lange am vorgeplanten Quatsch fest, womit sich die Fahrzeit sinnlos verlängert. Auch sehr ärgerlich: Die A100 ist seit einem Jahr teilweise abgerissen und TomTom hat das noch immer nicht bemerkt. Aktualisieren der App & der Karten hilft auch nicht.
Maps are not reliable
The maps have tried to send me on incorrect routes multiple times. Nearly got completely stuck in London as the map was navigating to restricted streets. But biggest issue is the over busy graphics (that look out of date) and confusing colour scheme. It’s hard to tell a busy road red/orange pattern from a non permitted road. Sometimes the blue travel lines are unclear, especially exiting motorways-when you need clear directions the most.

Clear directions and regular updates make this fit for purpose.
Maps not updated
Recently I’ve written a 3 star review about getting lost in Birmingham around May. I’m changing it to 1 star and I will be cancelling my subscription because I simply lost money. I’ve bought it to mainly get a low bridges filtered out because I’m a van driver doing 50k+ miles a year and the most of time I carry traffic lights on the back and they are quite high so the van is much higher so I need to be careful with low bridges, but I get lost so many times while using TomTom, many roundabouts I go through don’t even exist on them maps and they are there for years because I’ve driven them locations hundreds of times so why can’t you just update the app regularly. Waze hasn’t got that problem the app is free and they’ve got everything updated, they have got much better lane control before massive busy roundabouts that unfortunately isn’t explained as it should be in TomTom. I was really expecting something much better from the paid app. Totally disappointed.

Gute App, könnte man allerdings bitte noch fürs iPad die Größe anpassen? So dass man auf dem iPad auch Vollbild verwenden Könnte? Dann gibt es auch fünf Sterne.
Als PKW-Navi mit Jahresabo zu wenig Premium
Update 07.08.26 Leider passiert hier nichts. Stand heute, seit über 4 Monaten kein Update mehr. Selbst wenn eines kommt, keine sichtbaren oder spürbaren Neuerungen oder Verbesserungen. Schaut man sich dagegen die kostenlose APP an, ständig Updates. Habe diese geladen, ganz anderes Kartenmaterial und Funktion, nahezu nichts davon ist in der bezahlbaren. Irgendwie müsste es doch genau andersherum sein und premium App auch so behandelt werden. Ich verstehe TomTom nicht, hier jedenfalls wird definitiv nur mit standardisierten Texten vertröstet und nichts passiert, seit Jahren diese App nahezu identisch. Nicht mal der volle Support von CarPlay hat man hier integriert zwecks Meldungen senden etc., wie gesagt, alles und mehr nur in der kostenlosen App. Dann sollte man diese hier einstampfen und sich nur auf die Neue konzentrieren und uns allen endlich mal reinen Wein einschenken, was man hier vor hat oder eben nicht. Ich bin seit vielen Jahren TomTom-Nutzer – früher und weiterhin mit klassischen TomTom-Geräten wie dem GO 6200 und zusätzlich mit der iOS-App TomTom GO Expert. Ich nutze die App ausdrücklich als PKW-Navigation und habe dafür ein bezahltes 1-Jahres-Abo. Die Routenführung ist grundsätzlich weiterhin gut. Genau deshalb enttäuscht mich der aktuelle Zustand der App umso mehr. Für ein bezahltes Jahresabo erwarte ich nicht nur eine funktionierende Basis, sondern ein Produkt, das sichtbar gepflegt, modernisiert und konsequent weiterentwickelt wird. TomTom bewirbt GO Expert unter anderem mit aktuellen Verkehrsinformationen, Warnungen vor Unfällen und Straßenarbeiten, regelmäßigen Kartenaktualisierungen, klaren Fahrspuranweisungen und Unterstützung für Apple CarPlay. Genau an diesem Anspruch messe ich die App als zahlender PKW-Nutzer. In der Praxis fühlt sich die App für mich aber nicht wie das klare Premiumprodukt von TomTom an. Sie wirkt eher wie ein solides Bestandsprodukt, das weiterläuft, aber nicht mit der Priorität gepflegt wird, die ich bei einem Abo erwarten würde. Besonders auffällig ist für mich die Weiterentwicklung. Die Oberfläche wirkt inzwischen veraltet, neue wirklich spürbare Funktionen kommen selten hinzu und andere TomTom-Apps wirkten beziehungsweise wirken in Teilen frischer, moderner oder informativer. Auch CarPlay überzeugt mich nicht vollständig. Die Funktion ist zwar vorhanden, fühlt sich aber eingeschränkt an. Einstellungen, Bedienung und Darstellung wirken zwischen iPhone-App und CarPlay nicht immer vollständig stimmig. Gerade bei einer bezahlten Navigations-App erwarte ich hier eine deutlich rundere und konsequentere Umsetzung. Bei Verkehrsinformationen, Baustellen, temporären Hinweisen und Kartenkorrekturen fehlt mir ebenfalls mehr Verlässlichkeit und Transparenz. Wenn Kartenfehler, Geschwindigkeitsänderungen oder POI-Fehler gemeldet werden, sollte klarer nachvollziehbar sein, ob etwas geprüft, angenommen, abgelehnt oder wann es tatsächlich sichtbar umgesetzt wird. Der Fahrspurassistent hilft besonders in Städten oft zu wenig, wenn aus einer Spur mehrere Spuren werden oder eine Spur plötzlich zur Abbiegespur wird. Auch komplexe Kreuzungen, Spurwechsel, Umweltzonen, Grenzübertritte, Maut oder landesspezifische Hinweise könnten aus meiner Sicht deutlich verständlicher und intelligenter unterstützt werden. Sonderziele wie Parkhäuser, Tankstellen oder Parkmöglichkeiten wirken nicht immer so aktuell, vollständig und hilfreich, wie ich es bei einer bezahlten Navigations-App erwarten würde. Bei Panne oder Unfall fehlen mir außerdem praktische Hilfefunktionen. Mir geht es dabei nicht um unrealistische Spielereien. Mir geht es um Alltagstauglichkeit, Sicherheit, Übersicht und Verlässlichkeit. Gerade als PKW-Nutzer möchte ich eine App, die auf dem iPhone und in CarPlay sauber zusammenarbeitet, wichtige Hinweise klar darstellt und gemeldete Fehler nachvollziehbar behandelt. Besonders kritisch sehe ich auch die unklare Produktstrategie. TomTom GO, GO Expert, frühere AmiGO-App, neue TomTom App und klassische Geräte – als langjähriger Kunde erkennt man nicht klar genug, welches Produkt langfristig wirklich im Mittelpunkt steht. Für zahlende Nutzer ist das unbefriedigend. TomTom hat enormes Potenzial. Die Marke steht für Navigation, Verkehrsdaten und Erfahrung. Aber genau deshalb reicht es nicht, wenn eine bezahlte App nur solide funktioniert. Sie müsste sichtbar moderner, transparenter und verlässlicher sein als kostenlose Alternativen. Fazit: Die Routenführung bleibt für mich der wichtigste Pluspunkt. Insgesamt wirkt TomTom GO Expert als PKW-Navi mit Jahresabo aber nicht konsequent wie ein Premiumprodukt. Ich erwarte mehr sichtbare Pflege, bessere CarPlay-Integration, schnellere und transparentere Kartenkorrekturen, modernere Bedienung, verlässlichere Hinweise und eine klarere Perspektive für zahlende Bestandskunden.
Searching in Apple CarPlay needs a major improvement please
Hi there, Thank you for your response. The issue isn’t just with CarPlay. Searching on the iPhone app is also much slower and less intuitive than other navigation apps such as Waze. Please try to make the search much faster and smarter. It would be great if the first result from favourite appeared almost instantly, with the rest of the results loading afterwards. The search should make better use of the internet to provide quicker and more accurate suggestions. Also, please allow many more recent destinations to be saved. This would be especially useful in CarPlay, but also in the iPhone app. I’ve updated my review and rating, and I’m looking forward to future updates. Once these improvements are made, I’ll be happy to leave an even higher rating. Thank you, and keep up the good work!

Etwas unglücklich: bei der Abo-Selektion wird zuerst das LKW-Angebot angezeigt, nur ein kleiner Textlink lässt den Nutzer zu den Auto-Abos wechseln, daher meine ursprüngliche Annahme. Alles gut! Fahre mit Tomtom go seit vielen Jahren und würde das auch gerne einige! 😊 3D Spurassistent und Offline Karten unschlagbar.

Brilliant but…
Works just like the standalone , however…with no bus mode on there it reads like your a truck which is fine until you come to places like Barcelona where it’s mainly no trucks and it’s a nightmare . Can you add a bus mode on this please I’ve paid for the year aswell

Very poor for the money.
The maps are unreliable, despite being for a truck, with truck dimensions, it took me to the car ferry port rather than the truck one in the Hoek of Holland. It rarely identifies paddock entrances at circuits and away from Zandvoort gave a ridiculous route, incredibly tight turns. It does this regardless of if it is set to eco, fastest or shortest. For god’ sake, don’t ever use the latter if you are in an HGV. The routing is really poor, Waze and Google maps do a better job. Given this is for trucks it needs an easiest or best route, largest roads. Even with that the routing would need to be better. I really wanted and needed this to work, but I just can’t justify renewing.
Great navigation but slow to update speed limits and cameras
App is pretty good, but very slow to pick up changed speed limits.”, eg London’s 20 mph roll out or motorways where roadworks have finished and the speed limit is back to 70mph. And why the hell is it suddenly for “trucks”?
Nearly helpfully in Turkey
The mapping and routing was mostly good although it did try to take us routes in Antalya that neither Google or Waze suggested. Speed limits were the big problem. These were constantly wrong and Di not match the road signs. The biggest example was 110 in the very well sign posted 70 Demirkapi Tuneli on the D687 in both directions. This is a new tunnel and is sign posted at 70 all the way through the tunnel. Turkish speed limit signs are sporadic at best so I was hoping for more from TomTom.
POI not as extensive as Google Maps
The POIs in Tomtom are still not on par with what Google Maps offers and the menu structure leaves a lot to be desired.
Motorrad/Auto/Schwere WoMo‘s
TomTom ist im Großen und Ganzen eine der besten NAVI-Apps, die ich je benutzt habe. Ärgerlich ist schon seit längerer Zeit, daß ich die geplanten Routen (Meine Routen) nicht mehr gelöscht bekomme - weder unter der MyDrive-WEB-Version, noch in iPAD oder iPhone. Die Liste wird immer länger und unübersichtlicher. Eine Mail an den Support hat bisher auch nichts bewirkt!!! Die sichtbaren Routen können nicht ausgewählt und dementsprechend auch nicht gelöscht werden. Eine weitere Verbesserung, jedoch nur eine Kleinigkeit, wäre die Möglichkeit, die Daten meines „schweren WoMo’s“ dauerhaft zu hinterlegen und nicht immer wieder damit von vorne beginnen zu müssen (Achslast, Länge, Breite, Höhe etc.). Wenn jetzt auch noch die entsprechende Höchstgeschwindigkeit zum jeweiligen Aufenthaltsland (Autobahn 80 km/h bei 5,5 to in den NL) angezeigt wird, dann gibt es aus meiner Sicht überhaupt keinen Grund mehr zum „meckern“. Tolle Software - weiter so!!! Im „Nahbereich“ (Kreisel-Einfahrt-Ausfahrt)wäre es gerade bei einem fast 11 m langen WoMo sinnvoll, gleich auch wieder zu sehen (Zoom), wo die Kreisel-Ausfahrt ist - gerade in NL führen häufig rechte Einfahrtspuren direkt in die nächste Ausfahrt, ohne Möglichkeit noch zu wechseln.
Very buggy, do not buy
I got the app, configured it for my truxk measurements and road preferences, seemed to work so I bought an annual subscription. A fee days later, it loaded and said subscription EXPIRED (!!), even after restarting, probably because if you have no internet defaults to that, and so I needed to download a competitor app. Once I got back the internet signal I started the app again, lo and behold the subscription was magically back in there...so I used it on my next trip, and I risked twice an ACCIDENT as it wanted me to turn the wrong way into unpaved roads! So I went in my profile, and my profile was ERASED and the vehicle type back to car. It's not acceptable to have such a POOR QUALITY app for such a HIIGH SUBSCRIPTION PRICE. And the fact that such failure is random (might happen when you more need indications without internet) and silent (vehicle profile and road preferences deleted) makes it also DANGEROUS to rely on.
Turn by turn display in binnacle
Asked this before …..When will you develop this app to display turn by turn directions in car instrument binnacles? Apple maps, Google and Waze all have this function enabled. Long overdue in TomTom apps Please provide a definitive response rather something that doesn’t answer the question.
Updates not worth the money
I have used TomTom Truck on both Android and IOS it’s better on IOS but it appears like a poor relative to normal SatNavs Need to drop the price substantially and then they might get more custom. It does not pair for updates on iOS You seem to have created the absolute worst of both worlds
Good, but …
Has all there facilities of a standalone unit, but on long trips especially, it’s important to know how far away the next couple of fuel stops are. The standalone units do, this app doesn’t. Add that and it’s 5 stars.

A fantastic app that makes driving so much more enjoyable! It excels others by its simplicity, yet the information shown helps you keep in the route, even by a glance. The choice choices improve the experience too, with natural time. There is so much more I could add! So underrated is TomTom.

OK - but with two flaws - one fatal
Flaw 1: accessing re-routing should be on the main screen, not hidden two clicks away. Flaw 2 (fatal): If you elect to avoid motorways - it also ignores all dual carriageways. Useless. Example: st Ives Cornwall to Dorchester Dorset. Should be same as no motorways involved. 166 vs 181 miles and 2h difference as it avoids the A30

I have had TomTom since TomTom go in 2007, multiple units in cars and motorbikes. Even now with all the other options TomTom app is still the preferred on a state of the art adventure bike via CarPlay on and off road and huge 5000 mile solo rides throughout Europe each year. Thanks TomTom, you have actually never let me down (unlike a brief try of garmin, with 4 failed units in 8 months 🤣) keeping it simple and useable works for me 😁
Piss poor
Sat nav under warranty. Half way through the 2 year warranty and been dealing with them for over two weeks. Clearly has a problem. If they wasn’t recommended for the job I do I’d stay well clear
OK App
I am a long time user of TomTom Go. Generally I find the app useful however there are many inaccuracies with speed limits.
Expected better
Been using this app for 2 weeks as an HGV driver working nightshift. Has been fairly accurate in regards traffic/roadworks but has attempted to send me down 7.5t restricted roads multiple times. Ended up lost near Retford one night where I had no phone signal. I’d look at alternatives.
Peculiar routing
While it looks good and is spot on with traffic, sadly the routing it provides is peculiar. My commute is straightforward yet this app tries to always send me down narrow country lanes (even when I’m travelling at very quiet times). Doesn’t matter if I select ‘fastest’ or ‘shortest’, I get very odd routing every time. Also, its addresses are often incorrect. Selecting a well know store from the search and it tried to route me to a location over half a mile away. None of these problems occur with Apple Maps (even though I think they share same data sources?) Pity, because I’ve long been a TomTom user, but can’t rely on it anymore.
