Wrecked Format
On the whole, ET is a 5-star journalism organization and for years I’ve had no complaint with the app. However, the recent update to the Opinion section is horrific. It’s now impossible to find anything by your favorite writers. I’m missing a lot of content that I would definitely read, not to mention content I’m paying for. This all happened on the previous update and I’m now writing this because I was hoping this update would have the fix. It did not.

Bad UI navigation
Placement of Back arrow is confusing: sometimes it’s at the top left, sometimes at the bottom, and on some screens - somewhere near the middle left. Last app update placed the top left arrow so far out into the corner that on iPhone 15 Pro it’s impossible to come back from the comments screen.
I’m a paid subscribing member
I don’t get the benefits offered in my promised paid subscription. I’m not privileged to certain articles posted like the tape of the man who died went to heaven then returned. This is also my 3rd attempt to get someone who works in subscriptions to look into my issue. I will not be renewing
Reliable sources
I read the Epoch Times news before I am going to work every day. Very reliable news!
Hard to navigate
Every time i start to read a story an ad pops up. When you close the ad you lose the story. I think i will delete this app and find another news source

Censorship
I have updated the stars after Epoch reversed course and restored most of the deleted comments. I hope everyone stands against censorship. Don’t let your voice be silenced. I feel like 2 1/2 stars is the right number now. That’s obviously not an option. So 2 it is. I have been an Epoch subscriber for about 4 or 5 years. In the last few years I started to notice some questionable coverage. Some misleading articles or articles that don’t tell the whole story. I also noticed some news that was just not covered. I would have to look at other outlets to find some stories. I started commenting on things that I found troubling. I also commented on things I found to be good. I originally subscribed to Epoch because I saw the extreme bias and irresponsible and sometimes downright dishonest coverage from virtually all media. I found the Epoch to be what other media once was. Something has changed in the last few years. I just read a movie review for The Odyssey. I thought writer made excuses for the clearly DEI motivated casting. I commented on what I believed to be true. I was respectful and I never used foul language. Most people on the page thought as I did. The writer responded to my posts. I found him to be a little snarky and sarcastic but I was in no way offended. After a few exchanges he did admit that my points were good. The last thing he posted was something like he enjoyed the debate. I agreed. After returning to the article later I found virtually all critical comments erased, and not just my own. I left a pointed comment stating that this was censorship and the Epoch and ALL media should be steadfastly against censorship. Then that comment was erased also. I thought that the Epoch was all about freedom of speech. I thought the Epoch was founded on the principles of anti-communism. Censorship is a pillar of communism. Now the Epoch is censoring comments? I remember the Epoch having printing equipment destroyed in the middle of the night by the CCP several years ago. I read their comment posting rules (which I find a little over the top) and found no violation with what I wrote. Seems to me the Epoch has lost its way. I have personally sold many people on The Epoch content. I have also gifted subscriptions. Words cannot adequately express how disappointed I am with their actions. I have been close to canceling before but this will be the last year of my subscription. I hope they find their way back. Censorship is one of the first seeds of communism and the Epoch is planting them. I will pass what took place with their paper on to everyone I know. They should be ashamed of the actions they took. They are becoming no better than the other media outlets now.
Navigation issues
The placement of the Back button underneath the live streaming banner at the bottom of the page is problematic. The “x” to close the banner does not work so you cannot get rid of the banner to access the back button. The decision to move the back button to the bottom of the screen instead of top left like most other apps was poorly considered.

Outstanding honest reporting
New useless format in opinion section in app and online
You have hidden the names of the authors in the opinion section. Your new format now limits the new articles to a handful, rather than allowing efficient scrolling through past articles which show authors. Change for change sake is folly.
Consider casting
The content is exceptional giving a more balanced reporting then heritage media. Keep the emotional content and epithets out of the Epoch Times. I find it difficult to find specific articles as I cannot locate a search function. Finally could you institute chromecaste so interviews documentaries etc could be casted onto the television?
Confusing
I subscribe to the Epoch Times and really appreciate their news, but somehow logging in to the app caused a second charge on another card each month, in addition to my PayPal charge for the original digital subscription. I’ve wasted a lot of money before figuring this out. The app login for those who already subscribe is confusing at best, and somewhat misleading. I wish I could receive a refund… app subscription now cancelled but I doubt I’ll get any money back. Also, the stories in my emails from Epoch Times each day never open in the app, only the browser. And a pop up comes to tell me I need to subscribe.

Just subscribed and installed app. Just opened app and before I had a chance to read an article asked me to turn on notifications twice already. This is annoying. And the little stay in the know bubble blocks article v text. I already set my notifications.

Not Getting What I Paid For
I pay for a whole year subscription and I’m not able to get any of the live news been reported every time I click on the news. I’m only able to see what happened the day prior.
Clicking the email headlines in the morning is creating frustration
Every morning I get the headline email fro epoch and when I click on the link it takes me to that article and is interrupted by the subscription offer. I’m a paying subscription but have to go to the app to read the articles. (If I can find it that is) So frustrating Kindest Morten
No focus on Europe or UK
Not enough focus on the UK or Europe in the app edition. Time to cancel my subscription.
New app has bugs
Nothing but bugs since the last update. Getting repeats when I scroll and can’t get past four or five articles without a repeating same content . Other than that Epoch Times is awesome and a great source of real news and information.
Fix it!
Your App has some issues after your updates! Clear some sizing that pushes me from sending my comments via iphone!

Highly disappointed that I can’t even finish a good article without being asked to subscribe. I guess I’ll just delete the app.

Paid App
The app is basically useless unless you pay for the $20/mo subscription. Doesn’t allow you to read further than 1 paragraph into an article, it just locks it with a subscription request
News is good
The problem is too many emails, but worse is when you tap read more instead of opening the article in the app it opens in the browser asking for a payment. Ruins the whole experience.
Widget would be nice
Something that has top 5 stories and you can look at while you unlock the phone

I pay for the ET every month. Why can’t I comment on an article? It asked me to sign in as a new user and wants my credit card.

Subscriptions interruptions
I paid for a subscription. I logged into the app and I began viewing a live stream on the app. Then, a few seconds later the live stream is interrupted and there is this full page advertisement asking me to subscribe or login.

Cheap and Unstable
This App crashes all the time, is incapable of linking laptop account to the phone account and denies me the ability to read premium content even though I’m a fully-paid-subscriber. A dark blemish on an otherwise excellent media source.

Can’t just click on old news articles! Have to sign in even when it’s live but will send you notifications all day! 14 notifications and it’s not even noon yet!!!
TV Menu is empty now!
It just looks like an empty skeleton for a single video, with nothingness nothing else. other features look OK Sometimes if a video is left open (previous version) and the app is reopened, the screen is black, forcing three button restart to recover. M I keep having to delete and reinstall because it loses track of my subscription. Often, after videos it leaves a completely black screen that is unresponsive, forcing me to restart- no other application behaves this badly.
