Worth it
Great app, user friendly. Whats not to like
Onx
Free ? If you can find it’s really nothing to talk about.
Father’s Day deal
Got this app on the sale promo, nice app in terms of navigating around clickwise, some thought was put into it comparing other apps I tried. Information like access points, depth contours and species available are great. Just getting into making my own waypoints and paths in the app.
Detail not there
I have used a lot of mapping for many decades. I was hoping on X Fish would have the level of detail that could help you make decisions on where to go to zoom in on exact structure. They simply are not there yet. It will help with general information, but does not get you very detailed contours. Easy to use however. Interaction is great. Just need better maps.
Needs more lake depths
Great app but not enough lake depths registered.
Awesome
What I needed
Won’t let me login or create account
I can’t login or create an account it keeps saying invalid response and won’t even let me type in my username and password
Great app, but….
Been using the app for 4 months now and I love it. Nice tips, love the DNR report info. Gives a good insight to new lakes. Only wished it was also optimized for iPad as well. Have an iPad mounted on my boat and would greatly appreciate an optimized version for iPad OS instead of needing the iOS version.
Where are all the maps
I live in Northern MN so that is where I primarily fish. You are missing over half of the lakes that Navionics has maps for but you do not. Why would I pay $35/ year for maps for only most of the big lakes. I expect more from OnX. Not less. This is app is disappointing until you have all of the maps. The DNR has them available. I won’t use this anymore until they cover all the lakes.
Lacking contour detail
I thought I would get better contour detail with this map and I was a little disappointed or I wasn’t able to find out how to enhance the contour lines on the map. Either way I have other maps that show contour lines of 1 foot.
Love it! And the potential is amazing
I’ve been a long time user of onX hunt and this app meets my expectations with tools and waypoints that any angler could ever want however, there’s a few things I’d like to see. Better contours for starters, this gives you a great starting point for offshore structure but is lacking in some details. I’d also like to see a water level offset, a few of the lakes I fish regularly can be 20-30 feet low at times. Then a depth highlight range would be a phenomenal tool to breakdown a lake a little faster!
Not worth the money
Needs a lot more development before charging people for information that’s not even available yet. I went on the 7 day trial and for some reason once I payed for the year, all the “confirmed” catches mostly disappeared. I think there is a lot of bots really pumping up the reviews on here. Personally I’m disappointed
Onx fish
I like the app but the mapping for MN lakes sucks but otherwise all of the other features are great.
Fishing Spots
Easy to use. Easy to mark spots for me to send out. Love Hunt and like Fish
App
Just want to use it to explore but you must pay to be able to use it. Do not recommend
Pop ups!
Great app, but even after subscribing I get constant offer pop ups for subscribing? Very frustrating
Corson63
Enjoy OnX hunt
lying app
when you initially sign up for the free trial, they claim they will notify you at day 5/7 of your free trial about renewal and paying for it. However they never did that for me and will lie to you about it as well. Stay far away from this app
Great app - missing some details
This app has worked great for me - the only thing I see missing is the lake bottom type info which is usually available on the DNR sites they pull the depth maps from. Would be great since that’s the only big piece of info I see missing.
Worth it
Like $30 a year for everything most apps charge $30 monthly for
Garbage app garbage company
They didn’t even send a reminder for the payment when i have a code for Father’s Day for a discount being a single father every dollar helps. Will not ever use again.
Nebraska maps
Curious when Nebraska maps will be released?
Incredible info!
The data and insight into lakes I’ve never fished before is amazing!
Old maps
These maps are at least 20 years out of date
Uncharted lakes
Nice details on lakes. Even ones that aren’t mapped out on Lake Masters.
Awful
The lake depths is way off found a cove that was supposed to go from 4ft to 15 ft drop off the whole cove was 3 ft wasted time and gas uninstall
Love it
Great content & well organized. A fan.
Many apps have the same information but more for less
EDIT: Not only is everything I said still true but I noticed the app said this..”Unfortunately, it's not possible to provide a release date for when a given state will be available—check out the onX Fish website periodically and subscribe to our mailing list and socials to stay updated! Dan • April 18, 2025”. It’s been this way since 2025, so you can pretty much expect nothing new for well over a year, meaning probably longer. I initially signed up because my ford app told me I had a year free, unfortunately I didn’t notice that the app only supported a minuscule scale of the country (ESPECIALLY compared to other apps that do the same), but it was too late by the time I realized. Even if it wasn’t for free, the price and the incredible lack of support for some of the most fished places in the county “California, Oregon, Washington” is downright disrespectful almost.
Question about rivers
I was wondering if you guys were thinking/working on making sections of river the same as lakes and ponds having what species there are in the given stretch. Also I know rivers change constantly but some rough depths on the river stretches would be sweet.
Not worth the price
I have the onx hunt and I love that. I feel that onx fish doesn’t provide enough to justify 35 bucks a year when I’m already paying for hunt. Also a lot of boat launches aren’t on the map.
