Trial
I only signed up for the trial, I forgot to cancel and they charged me edit: $99. I tried to cancel with Apple and get a refund, I have not been refunded, I never planned on paying the subscription and it’s literally making me want to cry. I am low income, and my mental health and etc can keep me stuck at times, I want to help myself but not like this. I feel like I’ve been robbed and cheated out of my money that could go to my stacked bills. I don’t have extra money like this.
Growth
I love this app. I was already a journal writer but getting the AI responses has given me something to think about or face. I’m seeing and responding to things differently, for which, I am Grateful! With that said.. there are times in my opinion, that the Daily Storia responses are off. It makes implications not based on what I said. I get it’s AI but for anyone looking for neutrality or responses connected to what was shared it can be misleading.
Sudden paywall?
I adored this app and used it every day until they suddenly implemented a paid subscription for the features I had already been using for free for almost a year. I will not be using it anymore unless they remove the paywall. This app is useless otherwise. Do not spend money on this. I truly hate to say it, but if they're charging for this app, you may as well just use ChatGPT for therapy/journaling. Or, better yet, just write in a physical journal.
Good to start but AI yet again proves to be frustrating
Definitely helps be more consistent with journaling and found it very good to begin with. After time I found the AI to be very frustrating and just repeating the same wishy washy nonsense. Also recently the app has become very buggy so I hope they fix that soon and it’s looks very messy currently. I’ve paid for a year so will keep using it but if I could go back I definitely would not have paid for the year.

I love this!!! I use the free version , and it constantly checks in on me, I just did a practice in gratitude for today , which o had a lot to be grateful for , that I am grateful for …. And Storia analyzes what you tell them and it’s always so insightful and dead on , and it’s a very kind souled AI app
Constant money grab
Every feature in the app comes with its own sales pitch to spend more, upgrade, hire someone, etc etc etc. A pen and paper is far superior because those items don't constantly nag you for money like you're shopping in a Turkish bazaar.
Good app for its dependence on AI
I like the prompts, but the analysis of my feelings is often incorrect. I have no way of responding or changing that and it’s frustrating. Also, the graphics are very childish looking and I dislike that.
STUCK STUCK STUCK
Great for the first few weeks, really thoughtful interactive journal. However its been stuck on “Meet your future self” for weeks! Its a pop up that I cannot opt out of/skip/close and its made the app unusable. I tried updating it but its still stuck. I want to keep the app but if I cant get to my journal whats the point??
Nice prompts but cliché platitudes
So, I’m just dipping my toe into AI-powered journaling and I find for the side of suggesting journaling prompts, Storia isn’t bad. I like the way I can do voice notes or text, which suits my mood of how I want to journal. When it comes to what Storia does with my journaling it feels like it just gives me the most Instagram Self-Help 101 answers. It says “Why pay $250 for a coach when you can pay €70 for a year subscription?” but I think this is really misleading. It’s not really giving me any interesting advice or suggestions. I would actually prefer it if it JUST stuck to pattern analysis, and didn’t try and fix anything.

One of the newest updates made it so that you have to pay for insights now. The app was great and I loved to use it, but now I’m considering moving elsewhere. The insights after each prompt were the main draw for me, and not having those makes it much more useless.
Love this app!
I’m glad I found this app. The analysis of my entries has opened my eyes to a lot of ideas about myself. However, apparently no one in their tech department tried to use this ap on an iPhone. Some info sits atop other words. Some sayings. Are incomplete, disappearing into the margins. Navigation is difficult, especially for newcomers and there’s nowhere to ask questions. That said, the community is great and the entry prompts really make you think and dig into your psyche and think about your past.
No picture taking option and Always saying “Complete Onboarding”
Hey! I love the look and utility of Storia. My only suggestion for now is that there should be a way one can take pictures of something without having to access the photos gallery, and if possible, pictures taken on Storia stay there and dont transfer to the phone’s photos gallery. And also, each time I open the app, it tells me to “complete onboarding”. It’s getting annoying. Thanks💖🤞🏽
Focus on helping people
The app used to be helpful, but now I feel like I have to pay for everything. I loved journaling with this app, but now with this whole storia+ thing, I have to pay for reflections and so many other things I would usually get normally. Used to be helpful but now its annoying. Please focus more on actually helping people than making money.

What did you do!?
I’m new to journaling. I’ve been journaling with Storia consecutively for 220 days. Until today. Why? Because Storia is “too tired” to provide the weekly introspection unless I pay for a subscription. I was starting to see benefits from my healing journey by incorporating Storia. Having to pay for a free app is wrong.
Paywall greed strikes again
I used to love this app. It helped me immensely when I was going through depression and life changes…now almost everything is behind a paywall. It’s not just disappointing that another great app has fallen prey to greed, it’s frustrating too.
Healing.
A friend recommended this app to me, as we both struggle with things deeply and have trouble processing them. Even though I've struggled a bit to keep up with it sometimes, it truly has been fantastic and so healing so far. I'm impressed and amazed at just how much this app has helped in only two weeks of having it. I've paid for the year subscription, happily. I'm excited to see how much it'll help in a few months or years even. I do have weekly therapy in office, but just being able to write down my feelings and get genuine feedback that is molded from the things I've expressed, has been nothing short of amazing. I recommend this app to anyone that needs an outlet to express their emotions and needs a helping hand in their healing. It feels like another friend at this point. A true shoulder to lean on in my path to heal myself or even just write down my emotions to take some of the weight off. I can definitely see myself renewing my subscription in the years to come. FANTASTIC. If you need a place to empty your heavy burdens, this is it. Download it and give it a try. I do not regret it, not even a little bit. If you struggle at all with the noise in your head, please give this a try. It could be the start of a beautiful thing for you, as it has been for me as well. So grateful to have been introduced to this.
Gutted
This app used to be my favourite journaling app. Unfortunately recently they’ve implemented subscriptions and this has ruined this for me. This was helping me so much with my mental health, shame everything is always about money so I will no longer be using.

Sometimes we make decision based on old learnt behaviour creating a loop confection making that keeps the collapse in that it’s what happens. The look had to deeper and that choice as what is a better Choices needs patience . Give yourself that time to breathe . Disappointed
This app is so awesome it really helps me out so much. But when it started to tell me to upgrade and started asking for money. That really made me unhappy because this is such an important app for me. I’m thinking about just deleting it because I don’t have that kind of money for an app.

I was a pretty dedicated user of this app for a a few months, I loved how it was completely free. I recommended it to so many people!! But I woke up this morning and it asked me to start paying a subscription cost. A subscription to run my thoughts through an AI bot? I can do that myself without paying money or ruining the environment. Sorry /:
Insightful
Motivating. Insightful. Encouraging. Plus it actual allows you to access so much content without having to pay. Which is huge for me. Coming out of DBT therapy, it is a positive reminder to take the moments necessary to maintain what you have obtained and to continue the skills and mental space that DBT afforded you. It’s not a boring tedious app. There are a lot that just seem exhausting—- I don’t want to be typing on my phone since I write a lot and prefer my laptop over the phone. But this allows dictation and audio. Always you to include photos or videos to accumulate thereby adding to your “Storia” Great app.

Love this app, just one gripe
I genuinely love this app — it's helped me stay consistent and appreciate the small victories along the way. I'm a paying subscriber and happy to support it. That said, I'd love to see one feature added: the ability to go back and fill in a missed day. Yesterday was hectic and I figured I'd catch up this morning — only to find that once the day passes, it's gone. For a subscription app focused on building habits, that feels like a missed opportunity. Would make an already great app even better!
Microphone Glitch
Since updating to IOS 26 the microphone button keeps disappearing off the screen and I am unable to finish and upload my thoughts
Almost great, deficiencies are glaring
I don't use this as much as I would if I were able to turn off some of the features. When I have the patience to find my way to the actual writing part of the application, I find it quite engaging and useful. It's cool that there are options to look at data and all that stuff, but having these windows popping up telling me to check out this or that feature is a bad idea for an app that is supposed to be encouraging mindfulness. Also, please turn off the window popping up about "streaks"! If this program is sincere about helping with mental health, there should not be this unsolicited negativity about losing a streak when one opens the app. Put that information somewhere in the background where the user can look it if desired, or at least present it in a neutral or positive manner. Using that type of messaging is an unhealthy way of motivation, rooted in self-criticism.

I have been with this app since before the community section since before the premium subscription was an option and I have purchased the premium subscription. I am a poet and author and I just love this journaling app.
Gave me a chance to be myself and not have to hide how I feel
Storia is more than just another journaling application to me, it is where I can pour out exactly how I feel without feeling the need to keep something’s or bottle up my emotions, I feel anxious sometimes that what if the privacy of this app isn’t so strong and people can get all you information and thoughts, but then again so far it’s been a refreshing experience for me, it saved me from bottling up my feelings every time
Refreshing
Good and helpful app
More flexibility and variability is needed.
The design is nice but I wish there was more creative freedom for the writers. Our options are a response to a prompt, how we are feeling, daily check-in, or gratitude. Why can’t we write what we want to freely in one space?? I would also appreciate a daily streak saver or an option to change the date of journals.
As a therapist, I love this app
As a clinician, I really enjoy this app. The thought provoking questions that allow for emotional reflection while also encouraging gratitude are well rounded and leave you feeling good at the end of the day. I’ve recommended this to clients as well as family.
Subscriptions strike again
I was a huge fan of this app. I think it’s one of the best options for daily journaling out there. However as I expected they added a subscription service and put one of their key features behind it. I was so disappointed but I can’t pay for ANOTHER subscription AND I personally think the idea of paying for a journaling tool more than once feels parasitic cause at the end of the day you’re just talking to AI.
Insights
I have over a 200 day streak with this app, & it’s been mostly wonderful. I love the little reminders & the opportunity to speak or type. What I don’t love is that everything that used to be free is now a subscription, you can’t even see the daily or weekly insights anymore. I feel it’s really unfair that something that was an integral part of the app is now something we have to pay for. I still journal everyday because I love the prompts we’re given but it’s definitely frustrated me that yet another thing that was wonderful has been has become a pay wall at every step.

So complicated to use
Honestly, I’m an avid journaler and this is way too gamified- I feel like a child using this. Insights aren’t deep enough and why do my journal entries look like notes? There are better apps out there
It’s good to begin with
I found that at the start it really motivates you and makes you feel better but the more you use the app the more it feels like it asks you the same sequence of question like it’s always “what’s the issue”, “why does it make you feel like this” then “ is there anything you can do to change it or make yourself feel better” which is ok but after a while it made me feel a bit bored of it and unable to progress in what I have told the app

Can't even start the actual journaling bit?
I wanted to use this app. but I do the question bit and I get to the bit where it tells me what I am and then I can't click the button on it because I can't scroll down to click it. It thought it was a mistake so I reset the app and now it's just showing me a white screen? So I deleted the app and tried to log back in again but it showed me a white screen. So i deleted it again and signed up with a different email. And the same this happened again, I couldn't click the button after I answered the questions.

Was great - then it locked up on me
I started to enjoy the process of journaling. Then there was an update, now I can’t do anything apart from see a countdown for 2 and a bit days for a ‘story to drop’ and the sunflower eating popcorn. It’s kinda annoying! No menu - no option to cancel the countdown . Nothing .
