Its been a real life line to have discovered and to engage with the grief works experience. I have found the morning and evening gratitude check ins really holding. The live weekly group sessions feel incredibly significant and moving. To know you are diligently working through grief exercises alongside others is important and validating. Its also great you can go ar your own pace and zoom in on areas that have particular resonance. Day at a time - exercise at a time. - you are in experienced albeit virtual hands
Not good
Honestly i really dont think that u sould have to pay just so u can get over depression i really think u shouldnt be paying for it and its very expensive some people are so depressed that they dont even have energy to work then they have no money to pay for it and then there even more depressed.im sorry i really dont want to be rude or cause a problem its just really expensive.so i dont really recommend tgis app
Comfort
I was sceptical and initially didn’t like being reminded daily of my loss but that aside it’s v helpful to know I’m not going mad - that others feel the same way. That grief is a v moveable beast but I do my best to engage with life but equally give myself permission to have a day in bed if that’s how I’m feeling that day. I talk to understanding and dear friends. I’ll continue the course …… thankyou 💖
Beautiful app but disappointing support and pricing
A really lovely, thoughtful app with a calm and supportive feel throughout. The content is clearly created with care and understanding, and the resources are genuinely helpful, especially when going through something as difficult as grief. It feels gentle rather than overwhelming and I like how it encourages reflection without pressure. There is a lot of knowledge behind the app and it comes across as a safe space to explore thoughts and emotions at your own pace. The content itself feels supportive and understanding. However, the lack of response to some of my emails had the opposite effect and at times made me feel quite alone and unsupported, which was disappointing given the nature of the app! The cost is also very high. I appreciate that therapy in general can be expensive but at this price point, even with a monthly option, it feels well above what many people can realistically afford, especially at a time when they may need support the most. Along with the cost and the communication inconsistency, it left me feeling frustrated and dismissed so because of this, I’m no longer using the app. Overall, it’s a beautiful and well-designed app with meaningful content but the pricing and lack of consistent communication make it hard to continue with.

I have recently had a bereavement and I have to say I have felt doing something everyday has been helpful.During that time,twice a day, just for me to focus on ,feel and acknowledge my pain. Then to write down my thoughts really was good.Everything is there to refer back to. Highly recommend
An Extremely Helpful Resource
My beloved wife helen died five weeks ago aged just 49 following a 21 month cancer battle. She was my soul mate who I loved for over twenty years. She was the best thing that ever happened to me and we had a wonderful marriage and three beautiful children aged 15, 13 and 7. Her passing shattered my world and I alternate between states of shock, numbness, depression and panic. The grief works audio book and accompanying app have supported me greatly in these past few weeks. It has helped me to process my thoughts and reassured me that I am not going mad although it can feel that way at times. For anyone struggling with grief I would highly recommend this app and the audio book. It can be far more comforting to listen to those stories rather than talk to other people. Julia has a lovely calming voice and brilliantly explains the emotional turmoil which acute grief can cause. Both the app and audio book have helped me through the nights in the past week or so. Thank you for developing it.
Loss of grandson
I am a retired civil servant who has unfortunately just lost her seventh grandson. This app is beginning to help me deal with my feelings. It was recommended by CS bereavement charity and although I was sceptical it is beginning to help me understand my feelings
The live support group didn't launch
I rearranged my work meetings to participate, logged in and waited 15 minutes. No one let me in. I was already feeling like the world is caving in. I didn't need this. I now don't trust the program. Happy that it's working for others. Sad that it's not working for me.

Help is given on your terms at a pace you need
I’m finding this app very helpful as the 28 sessions gives me time to reflect and understand what I’m feeling and provides useful tools for coping. Most importantly, I can engage as much as I need and I can miss days if I don’t feel up to it. There’s no pressure. I will try the live and group sessions at some point, but I’m not ready yet.
Support
I have found the Grief Works Support Programme very supportive and helps me on my grief journey. The journalling and the meets up on a Monday evening very helpful. It’s good to speak to people in the same situation who understand how you feel. Often you hear worse stories than your own. I recommend joining

I think there’s a bug, when I try to sign up with email or Apple the app just freezes and doesn’t move on to a different page or do anything at all
My love
My wonderful husband Jeff , my best friend and soul mate for 41 years died after a short but vicious illness in May. I contacted Cruse on a particularly sad day and following a long empathetic and practical chat with a lovely counsellor she suggested Julia Samuel - who I immediately felt very comfortable with - and the Grief Works app which has reaffirmed that’s it’s ok to grieve in any form. I feel the bereavement course will be very beneficial and soothing as I’m so wired and tired
Very useful course and tools
I logged into the Grief Works programme on recommendation of a grieving friend and have found it useful in working through my grief. I use the tools when I feel I need help and enjoy the morning sessions when I have time

I can’t find a way to change status of my membership. And no one will get back to me.

Last nights zoom meeting was helpful, I had not experienced the chat room before where I was with 5 other people, it was nice to meet them all and to share with others who really understood what I’m going through, it was my 3 rd time joining the Monday evening zoom meet and I will continue to join, thank you to everyone involved.
Lost all my work
I have invested some days in this, journaling thoughts, and somehow everything I have done is ALL GONE , all my journals, reflections, and answers in course sessions. So disappointed, those moments are all erased, just like the one I loved. I
Found it helpful but lost the second half of course
I paid £79 for this course after the death of my beloved mum. I found it very good. I was really struggling. Unfortunately I lost track of time and before I knew it I was told my three months were up and I lost access to the second half of the course I’d paid for and the only way I could access it is to pay another £79! Sorry I can’t, money is tight now I’m in my own. I feel so sad. Luckily I signed up to another site that’s for life long access so I can dip in and out.

I would HIGHLY recommend this app for anyone experiencing grief no matter how recent or long ago you lost your loved one 💗 I wish I had heard of the app years ago. Julia and Nick are so lovely and warm, sincere and supportive. Julia’s experience of supporting those are grieving shines through as she gently soothes and supports you. Ceri who leads the daily online meditation/time to just be session is brilliant. He has such a wonderful approach, amazing knowledge and techniques. Thank you I shall be using the app throughout my life 🙏
Very helpful
It has made me be aware of my emotions more than I thought was necessary, facing difficult moments in a calm safe way. It is teaching me to be kind to myself and to take it easy, life is not a sprint track anymore especially when you are grieving.

The only reason I'm not doing 4-5 stars is that it's a little costly and not everyone can pay for the app. I also have had the app crash several times and had to delete (lose my data) and reinstall it. Now I don't use the app! However, when it stayed up it was a great help and I'm learning about my grief and how to handle it. sadly I can't move forward in the grief works app.
Feeling understood
Grief Works is helping me to separate out all the confusion and mixed emotions going around in my head. It’s also helped me to realise that my grief is unique to me and I don’t need to feel guilty on days when I get on with my life. I like the way I can use the app at my own pace.
Very helpful
Working through this program, some of the thoughts and ideas sound trite and superficial. However, if you stick with it you will get some movement forward. I lost my spouse who was my life. I need all the help I can get and this program is helping!
Generic
This app is an laudable attempt to bring together advice on grieving. The app is well put together and fairly easy to navigate. Unfortunately, I found the advice to be rather generic (breathe, journal, exercise etc.) and surprisingly there is no insight into managing broader grieving dynamics with family or otherwise. This app is no substitute for counselling specific to your situation and two-way dialog with supportive family and friends. I would also recommend the excellent book from long ago: How to Go On Living When Someone You Live Dies. The calibre of insights and advice is of a much higher order, and as a result feels less solitary than this app.
Grief Support
Signing up to Grief Works is really helping me through my grief journey. It is only 8 months since my husband passed away but the tools available are a great support when I use them. Responses to queries are always quick and are never “standard responses” which makes me feel that any response has been carefully thought through. For me personally it is money well spent.

It is helpful and also very infomrative...putting the unspeakable into words. It does give direction and helps. I worked it thourhg one day after the other...in hidsight it might have been better to take a few days for each chapter. Thank you. Found the life session helpful with Julia and other "surivivors"
Most helpful and genuine App. Available
I only managed to do part of the course due to ill health. However I found it to be the most well structured, helpful and genuine help that is out there. All the people involved with Grief Works are sincere and honest in wanting to help us move forward and be able to understand our emotions and feelings and ultimately cope with our grief. I especially can’t thank Julia and Nick enough for all their help! I hope to do the course again when I’m better and have already told my daughters and friends all about how helpful it was and will continue to recommend it to anyone who is grieving and feeling lost. Really Helpful
I have found the Grief Works app and support program extremely helpful as I live with and process my grief. I like the fact that sessions are “bite size” so I can take my time over them and move on to the next one when I’m ready. The meeting videos are also very much appreciated, practical advice delivered with real empathy and compassion. Thank you 💕
