The app gets ever worse
In addition to the dreadful spelling and editing on the articles you click on, now the thing won’t load properly. Cancelling subscription and will just buy the weekend edition the old fashioned way
Offline functionality needs improvement
Already downloaded editions of the paper keep requiring a re-newed download. Particularly annoying when you are in an offline environment!

FT Readers Don’t Travel…?
This app works quite well unless you make the mistake of leaving your home base. Both domestically within the USA and abroad, the app struggles with unfamiliar IP addresses and refuses to deliver content, sending the User on a maddening loop of misfired sign-ins. Domestically this sometimes resolves itself, internationally it never does, including when support is involved. Newspaper without peers. App second to nearly all.
Just awful
Love the paper hate the app. Counterintuitive, clunky, frequently changed but never improved.

I start my day with the FT so I know what’s going on - no hype, just the news and solid analysis. Thanks FT!
Sometimes it won’t connect
When this works, this is a really good reading app. But sometimes it won’t allow you to get beyond the initial page as it thinks you don’t have Internet connectivity… And other times you have already downloaded today’s addition but if you go into a tunnel say on the tube or a train it says it can’t connect and therefore you can’t read off-line which I imagine is the main point. Please fix this and then it will be a solid five stars
Audio improvement
In the Audio (text to voice) capability, there should be a logic to skip reading the non-text characters like “right pointing triangle”

Amazing App!
I was very pleasantly surprised by this application. I found myself interacting with FT content far more than I normally do because the layout of the physical paper is more engaging visually. Once selected, the articles were delivered in an easy and convenient to read way as well. Well done FT!
Confusing pricing
App description says you can read the front page for free, good luck finding that. Pricing says £11.99 or $9.99, eh? Then when ordering it is £15 a month, crazy.
Great option for uncluttered reading
This is a good way to keep up with business news without having to deal with the fiddly and cluttered FT app. It’s also fantastic to not have any readers’ comments, so that you can properly concentrate on the actual story. And it’s good value for the price - in fact it’s such good value that I’m a bit suspicious that there will either be a price hike or this app will get binned! So enjoy it while it lasts! :) Feature request for the devs - please add a white-on-black “dark mode” for reading articles. Please also fix the rendering of some hyphens which get lost when reading articles.
Hit and Miss
Mostly good, the white label text on white background functionality lets it down badly. It has only headlines for many articles and fails to pick up diagrams so can be annoying to use.
I expected more
Auto download works intermittently and only when I start the app. My iPad only has WiFi so I need to remember to download before leaving home. My iPhone has WiFi and cell internet and it will download automatically when I start the app. Other apps, for example podcasts will download automatically when the device has internet access. It would be a useful feature in this app. Lastly search functionality is poor. But I got subscription at €149 which is good value.
My next wife
She will read the FT. The Economist too. Topical and on point. Love you guys for your objectivity.

Hiding these black bars on the top and the bottom would be really nice feature
Disappointing
Usability and Functionality not what I hoped for, nay: expected. Is it too much to ask to simply have the FT page by page fullscreen in portrait mode on my 13‘‘ iPad?
“Premium” ?!?
I believe I was duped into ordering the $75 version of the online app when I took/accepted the “free” trial. I will be downgrading one level to the $45 per month version, or deleting entirely – – have not made up my mind yet, but FT needs to check their business practices/model. Onward and upward!

No substance
I am a new subscriber. The content and quality of the writing is incredibly disappointing.
Good, but fullscreen mode is broken
This is a white labelled version of the Pressreader app, and its nice to use, has a good image quality, and being able to open an article in a reader view is really nice. However, it seems to be impossible to view in full screen on my iPad mini (i.e. you can’t hide the ui by tapping on the page - the top and bottom bare is stuck on my screen permanently when reading). I think this is a bug because it works in the main Pressreader app, and the settings in this app reference full screen mode. Its a bit of an annoyance with the limited screen real estate on my iPad mini. The main Pressreader app also has page previews at the bottom of the UI, which is a really nice feature sadly missing from this app.
Doesn’t download consistently
The paper is formatted well…..when it actually works, which about half the time.

The FT is by far the most informative, unbiased read with the best written analyses and authoritative and insightful commentators.
Insult to readers
Have yet to discover a worse newspaper app out there. What were they thinking? Good luck squinting at the equivalent of a PDF of the print edition on your phone.
ATT Removal
I can’t thank you enough for removing that pesky ATT. Better yet letting us know that you did. And silly me, I was waiting for new features but the ATT had to go.
Nice App But Please Improve Text-View Formatting
I really like reading the FT E-paper. My only issue with this app is it doesn’t work very well on the iPad Pro. When you tap on an article it appears in a box in the middle of the screen rather than going to the edges. This makes it very difficult to scroll without your thumbs hurting! Please fix this and make articles appear in full screen like they do on the phone version!

Steaming Pile of Garbage
This app is so buggy that it’s functionally impossible to log in. For a subscription based newspaper app I feel like maybe that should be step one?
Thanks for the great start, a few bugs to iron out
In portrait mode on iPads with 4:3 aspect ratio, please allow seeing the entire page at once (i.e. zooming out to fit page to screen height). Currently, it only lets you fit the page to screen width so that top or bottom of the page is always cut off.
Finally
After a long absence there’s finally a native iPad app to read the FT ePaper. I read the FT ePaper every day for about an hour since a few years. One of the positively surprising things is the resolution. Compared to the web ePaper it’s now possible to read an article without zooming. Also the page turning, article selection and zooming interactions (native iPadOS?) are much better. They were constant frustrations on web. What should be improved is the UI. Given the long format of the FT it should be possible to view the entire page at once. A menu on the side makes much more sense than a top AND bottom menu with barely useful options like read aloud always visible. Secondly selecting an article opens up a modal, with the paper in the background. reading an article like this for a few minutes makes it harder to focus. This interaction should be reserved for quick and simple interactions. Automatic download in the background is a plus for those scarce times where I don’t have internet access. With full screen solved this could be a 5 star app.

Best Digital Edition
I prefer the digital edition that mimics a printed physical copy. WSJ, Barron’s, Economist are all subpar when compared to the FT’s app. This app feels smooth, savvy and just clean. Many other apps seem to lag when I flip through the pages or just don’t have such a streamlined interface. So for me this would be a 5 star app!
Unable to access my account
At least with the old Epaper, I could access my account. Since they launch this digital edition app, my account tells me I don’t have a subscription even though I do have one and it has some time before it expires. I have tried the online chat and that was a waste of time. Have sent an email to customer service and no response. Very disappointed in the financial times.
