My Experience
I have been with Empower FCU for several years and they have been nothing but a blessing. Always there to assist me and help me in any ways I’ve ever needed and also been a huge help in taking care of my credit score! I am truly dedicated to this bank ! Thank you all for your assistance in my daily life. God bless!
Terrible app
-Can’t lock and unlock my card with the version I have -Looks outdated. -No way to view card number in the app
Facial recognition
I upgraded my app and now the app doesn’t have facial recognition. Why?
Login Issues
Since this latest update, I’ve been having a lot of issues logging in to the app. The app consistently forgets my password and requires a manual login. When I log in, the password is not recognized. I have reset my password numerous times, yet it still gives me issues. Please fix and update.
Not formatted for iPad
At some point the app stopped rotating to landscape on iPad, which is a commonly used orientation for iPad.

I use this app daily. Love Al the features. I would like to request the ability to reorder the accounts in a list so I can have favorites at the top etc.
Trouble Linking Outside Bank Account
This has been an ongoing issue for years now and here again in July of 2025 I am still not able to link my outside bank account nor able to make transfer from said account into my Empower account. App is essentially useless.
No problems
I have not had any problems with this app since getting it a few months ago.
Fix this
Why is it that every time I go to check on my accounts and I get a error to load them up and no matter if there’s a update or I just need to reload the page nothing works and I used to love this bank now I might switch cause ik I’ll probably get better service than this bank
Zelle on app
I try to use Zelle but it always says error even though I am putting the right information.

Why would your app throw me to a chat board without being signed in?
I have been a member for over 50 years. I just removed the Empower’s app. I had used the app and signed out earlier today. When I got home to resume using the app there was a chat screen asking me to chat with an Empower representative. Very suspicious because I was not even signed in. I’m not sure what to do next. I think I’ll call you tomorrow morning.
New update several crashes
The new face lift has several crashes. For instance navigating on the bottom bar from transfer to accounts causes a crash. Achieves everything I need in a banking app, just a little buggy.
Apple Watch
Snap shot view was yoked off the Apple Watch w/o warning. Lamé bagels!
Great!
I’ve been using Empower for years, and I really love this bank. They added a new feature to the app where you can always see your credit score, keep notifications when there’s a change in your credit score, etc. I just want to say I LOVE this feature so much! Please never get rid of it!
Worst mobile banking app
This establishment and their app are both terrible. Can’t login 50% of the time due to an unknown error code that they haven’t fixed for over a year. Can’t pay off certain accounts within the app. This company in general is just a headache to deal with and has wasted much of my time.

What happened to this app?
I having been using this app for a few years and it has worked ok until recently. Now the deposit check option is completely broken. You used to be able to just snap front and back of check and be done. Now it tries to auto take an image and then turns around and says the image isn’t up to quality standards even with near perfect focus, clean contrasting background and lighting.
Smooth experience
I have had this app for months now. Everything is visually pleasing and very organized. All the features are simple and the app is very responsive. I’ve never had any issues thus far. Well designed app.
Way too long & complicated
Robots do not belong in the financial or medical field. HIPA & private information I’ve an electrical engineering & have written ( algorithms) computer program s since 1981 Any program can be hacked. Nothing is safe & EVERYTHING you put in computer goes to the CLOUD

Worst banking app ever
Literally a horrendous customer experience and the fact that I can’t just link an account to make a payment instead of transferring money and waiting for it to clear before making a payment is beyond ridiculous.
Used to be good
I have used this app for a while and after updating to iOS 15.3 the app crashes after login attempts. I was once able to see my accounts after a login, but all other attempts just closes the app after clicking the Log In button.
Terrible
This app is terrible and does not operate on realtime, then there is always an error whenever I tried to send money with Zelle.
Forced update
Why do I need to update my iOS to use the app this is ridiculous smh
Constant loss of services
The worst app ever. Constant updates with increased loss of functionality. Today none of my bill payees are in there, lost all the history as well. Updates are supposed to make things better, seamless, more secure & efficient. Instead… it makes banking harder & me questioning their ability to secure my funds. Awful!
